The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Smiling and with a slight nod Syn gestured politely for the new woman to walk with the Dark Queen down the hallway leading to the dining area first.
While walking Syn went through her expertly rehearsed introduction about Sanctuary and all it provides, but at the same time she was examining the new arrival as she always did. Always looking for potential assets. Syn was always keeping her eyes out for possible new recruits or at the very least other mutants who could help the cause of the Order if not her own.
“Please forgive me. I forgot to ask your name. Are you new to the city?”
The boy was clearly living off his animal instincts. His mannerisms, speech and even the things he said he did all pointed to him relying mostly on his predatory side. He was apparently good at it for surviving this long on his own. However, there was always the chance the humans would figure out a way to capture him and possibly harm him.
Emerald green eyes continued to observe the black armored boy. “You are welcome to stay here with us and yes we have taken in mutants with a variety of backgrounds. You have nothing to fear here. We’re like one big family and we do what we can to take care of each other. There’s plenty of space here so don’t worry about that.”
After receiving a text from Lisa that mentioned Kaitlyn being taken to the infirmary as well as a new arrival requesting a tour, Syn made her way to the foyer. All the while she wondered what had happened to her adopted niece. While they weren't related by blood the girl was still family.
Walking to Lisa's desk Syn looked over the stranger. "I understand you're new and would like a tour of our facilities. I can assist with that."
Watching the sudden reaction from Sylar as she withdrew his hood was a little more than she expected. She had anticipated him being shy and nervous but when his tail snapped to attention and he quickly put some seperation between himself and Syn, the dark woman merely smiled and slowly continued her approach. All the while she listened to him.
"Yes, I noticed you're not used to someone approaching you. Being on your own as you have I would imagine that you felt detached from others." Syn looked the boy's face over as she continued her slow walk towards him. "You don't need to fear me. I'm not going to hurt you. I only wish to get a better look at you."
"In regard to manners many here haven't ever been to school, but we have our own teachers who help with education. I just think manners have their place though not always required."
Stopping only a couple feet from Sylar Syn continued to examine him. "What is it you hunt and stalk? Your eyes are very unique. What do you see with them?"
The last reply from the boy received a slight nod and a soft chuckle. "You're not the only one who has issues with the Police. You're safe here."
While waiting for the new acquaintance Syn looked around. No one else really stood out to her. All the usual business one would expect to find in a mall. She got a few typical glances from passersby or stares from across the hall, but she was used to these and ignored them all. Currently her only interest was the white haired woman named Evelyn.
When the other woman got close enough Syn turned as a gesture for them to start walking in the main hallway of the mall. “No place particular though I’m always keeping my eye open for something that catches my interest. Is Jensen going to be joining us now? I’d feel terrible if he had to hide all day.”
The ever present and expertly perfected smile crossed Syn’s lips accompanying a slight nod. “Yes. It does take a bit of work, but we do pretty well I think. This place has been here for several years now so we must be doing something right.” The dark woman laughed lightly.
“Partially or fully transformed you shouldn’t hide your true self. You should be proud of who you are and not be fearful.” Syn moved closer and reached out to the hood to help guide it back to expose Sylar’s face. “I have been around many various mutants. You won’t scare me I assure you.”
Sylar began speaking of his lack of socialization to excuse himself for his bluntness. While this was acceptable for the moment Syn knew that could change should he make an effort to change. “I understand. However, there are times when it’s better to speak more politely. Bluntness has its place, but not all the time my dear. I’d be happy to work with you on how to speak better if you’d be willing to learn.”
She could hear him smelling the air and associated it with his animalistic qualities. He was familiarizing himself with the surroundings and most likely herself as well. “I do enjoy the night time, but I’m not primarily a creature of the night. The day time has it’s enjoyments as well. I’m guessing you prefer the dark where it gives you a better advantage. Is that right?”
Syn had left one of Sylar’s statements for last on purpose as it warranted some investigation. “You mentioned needing a breather, but you didn’t say what from. I’d like to know more about this if you don’t mind. Consider it a bit of a security inquiry. Just something I’d like to know about in case action is required.”
Evelyn’s response actually pleased Syn. She had gotten the white haired woman to think about the possibility. For now that was enough without forcing anything. She’d let Evelyn’s own thoughts take over and formulate ideas of what she could do.
When Evelyn stepped off to the counter with the CD Syn stepped off to the doorway of the store. There she would wait to continue their conversation and try to learn more about her new companion.
Syn noted this new mutant’s very animalistic nature. It was something she was familiar with since she had dealt with such a talent before. “Well perhaps knowing that I’m one of the people who run this place might ease your nerves more?” She hoped it would calm him down as she didn’t want him to remain feeling uneasy.
He introduced himself and remarked to her question about his hood. “Since I haven’t seen your face no I can’t tell.” Now she was seeing how comfortable the male had become…if at all. Syn had seen many types of mutants just from being at Sanctuary. She was already expecting a not to human appearance from Sylar.
Syn raised an eyebrow at Sylar as an initial response to his question about her name. A soft sigh and a slight shake of her head. “I see we’re going to have to work on your manners my dear Sylar. That’s not how you address a lady. I’ll let that one slide since you’re new, but we’ll work on your behavior later. You may call me Syn.”
Upon stepping into the foyer Syn waited for the unsure sounding figure. She watched him enter the building and paid attention to his movements. He was definitely losing his more human range of motion while becoming more agile.
“If you were here before with a resident then they should have informed you that this place is a save haven for mutants. You are welcome to enter this place at any time.”
Continuing to look the new arrival over Syn thought she’d find out more about the stranger. “Do you have a name? Why do you hide your face?”
The figure’s reply received a blunt hmph. “I can tell you’re not most people for a couple reasons. Namely clinging to the side of a building will put you into a narrowed down group of people when compared to the general public. However, being that you’re hanging onto a very specific building, you have a tail and you’re hiding from someone that puts you into a more specific group.”
Syn gave a quick glance around to see if anyone who might be following this individual might be approaching. Not seeing anyone she returned her attention to the figure on the wall. “If you’re hiding from authority figures your best bet would to be to go inside the building instead of stay out here.”
Shaking her head with a smirk on her face Syn headed for the doors. “Oh, and yes I live here.” She hoped the figure would heed her words and follow her inside.
“First off, I wouldn’t force you to use your special talent. You’d have the freedom of using it at your own discretion. All I’d ask is that you help spread the word as well as gather whatever information you can that would aid our cause. It’s something we all do so don’t lower yourself by thinking I’m referring to being a spy.” Syn had no problem answering questions. She was used to it from all the unaware mutants she crossed paths with.
