The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Cassandra smiled as the girl, Kaitlyn was led away, she wondered if the girl would be okay, maybe she should have stayed with her and checked that the doctors in this place could... No, even if she was a mutant, she wasn't Cassandra's responsibility, she had protected her from a group of anti-mutant drunk teenagers, nothing more, she wasn't the girls parent or sibling.
Cassandra wondered what sort of mutants stayed at sanctuary, were they all just young and sheltered mutants like Kaitlyn and Charlie, or were there some more well known, adult mutants staying here. Cassandra hadn't actually looked into sanctuary sooner, and she found herself wishing she had, as now, she was curious.
Her body language did not betray curiosity, it portrayed calm, and a slight smile. Cassandra found herself looking at Lisa, who was still wearing the appreciative smile.
She smiled back. "So, Lisa, considering Kaitlyn is busy getting checked over I was wondering if there was anyone else around who would be able to show me around, I've never been here." There was something about the perfect calm Cassandra was portraying that tended to make people uneasy.
Lisa smiled. "I'm sure we could arrange something." She replied.
After receiving a text from Lisa that mentioned Kaitlyn being taken to the infirmary as well as a new arrival requesting a tour, Syn made her way to the foyer. All the while she wondered what had happened to her adopted niece. While they weren't related by blood the girl was still family.
Walking to Lisa's desk Syn looked over the stranger. "I understand you're new and would like a tour of our facilities. I can assist with that."
Cassandra turned and smiled to the newcomer. She instantly noted the way that she decided to present herself. It was rather intriguing. She looked to be somewhere in her 20's, definitely close to Cassandra's own age. Yet she dressed like a stereotypical goth-teenager.
However, unlike the typical behavior and body language of that kind of youth, she didn't seem shy or distant, she seemed open and confident.
Cassandra was curious as to what type of person this goth woman was. Not your usual guide. Then again, Sanctuary was a place for mutants to stay, which didn't really follow normality. At least, it wouldn't for a human.
Cass decided to test the waters. She smiled at the woman "That would be wonderful, thank you." she remained in a relaxed, friendly stance.
Smiling and with a slight nod Syn gestured politely for the new woman to walk with the Dark Queen down the hallway leading to the dining area first.
While walking Syn went through her expertly rehearsed introduction about Sanctuary and all it provides, but at the same time she was examining the new arrival as she always did. Always looking for potential assets. Syn was always keeping her eyes out for possible new recruits or at the very least other mutants who could help the cause of the Order if not her own.
“Please forgive me. I forgot to ask your name. Are you new to the city?”
Cassandra walked wearing completely neutral body language. She was actually rather interested in what this woman had to say. The sanctuary was of definite interest to her, if anything there was a distinct chance that they would have contacts who would be in need of Cassandra's specific skill set...
She could do with the work if she was honest with herself, just to occupy her. And also she could probably find a treasure trove of information in a place like this, where all sorts of mutants could be hiding from the vicious society outside of the walls, they could pick up all sorts of things.
Cassandra smiled at the comment and proceeded to respond. "I'm Cassandra. It's a pleasure to meet you, and no I've been around for quite some time now." she said with a calm smile on her face. She was curious as to what was up with this woman, she was definitely a little unusual.
A simple reply from the new guest. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Cassandra. This is such a wonderful city isn’t it? What brings you to our door?”
So far Cassandra was like a blank sheet of paper. Nothing specific jumped out about her, but Syn would keep prying until something surfaced.
Leading the guest into the recreation room Syn pointed out the different things one could do in the room. Her attention was still fully on Cassandra even if she wasn’t looking directly at her the whole time. “As you can see we do what we can to make things not so bring for those who reside here.”
