The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Hmm. Well it could definitly be a target with such a high concentration of mutants in one section. But I was wondering if perhaps the stone could have originated from there..."
She jumped and giggled when he tickeled her. Then she scrunched up her nose and pretended to be angry.
Mike grinned. "I never told you not to focus." He still lightly tickled her sides, though not as badly, as he continued. "I don't know, call me a sucker for badly-written movies, but 'ancient stones' just screams 'Asia' to me. Maybe Tricity knows, I guess she had something to do with them once upon a time."
Mike smirked. "Sure... spy on someone's mansion, cops don't bother you. Stop for a few minutes in a parking lot, they get all up in arms. Talk about priorities."

Daria laughed heartily. "Yeah, in DC I don't think the cops had anything better to do than to racially profile someone for DWB. Driving while black. They didn't have the best reputations."
Mike smirked. "That's the sort of cases my father loved. Great for making statements, getting his face seen, make it look like he cared for the minority rights... all great things, if he actually meant it." He shook his head. "Again, I didn't lose much when my family gave me the boot."
Mike smiled slightly. "You don't know how good it felt when he told us that my father is his biggest failure. That would rub my father if he ever found out about it." He shook his head, sighing. "I really wish I knew why I thought Grandpa would buy into my dad's bullshit. I should have known better."

"Oh, nobody's perfect, Mike" Daria said pulling back to look him in the eyes. "I mean..I'm no angel. But what you've done in the past doesn't define you. So..get over it" she shrugged and grinned.
