The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Markus followed the group from behind at a regular pace, his briefcase in his hand once more. As he strolled to their destination he took recognition for the architecture. Not too shabby. Markus's thoughts wandered, as the main objected at hand had been delayed since the odd interruption from a new comer it would seem. Now as they entered the new area, Markus felt a more relaxing aura within the room, the furniture and pool tables seemed to fit it.
"Nice place." Markus spoke as he sat down on a near sofa. He then gazed over the room, expecting to see if anyone else would say anything pertaining to the events that had recently happened.
He hoped Glass had followed along, He wasn't sure but calling the man crystal just didn't seem to work, though if he wanted to be called crystal that was his business. The crew went to the rec room which was quite a bit more seclusive as far as the order went, they could speak freely in here and tell the everyday sanctuary that it was in private use for the time being.
"Alright, we have peace and quiet, lets talk shop, You're talking a bigger job, we've got the muscle, you''ve got the know how. Syn i Believe the man was offering some good faith bargaining chips, you go t anything in particular you wanted, a show of action I believe was the idea."
He nodded to Jupiter who threw him a pool stick and he broke the table with what seemed like the slightest of taps to him sent the ball flying across the table and emitted a crack that sent the rest of the balls scrambling around the table.
Aura Followed, close to Markus, to Aura it was just caution, they did not know the man and his mutation in aura's mind was hard to prove. Still she could not dismiss him for that and was intrigued by what sounded like a fight. If the man was true to his word, his mutation was a thing of beauty to Aura as it was one that could save much of their kind, without requiring direct involvement from the man himself. Aura entered the recreation room, it was one of the rooms she tended to avoid. Not that it was a bad room, but simply she had little use for it.
Tilting her head she figured she would venture the question that had just entered her mind. "So what are the defenses going to be like?" She asked curiously. Aura's mind was tuned to strategy herself, though she had almost always been in far smaller groups. She had faith in the raw power of those in the room however and felt their was little that could truly stop them. Mars, Meld and herself had once crushed a prison, well Mars had done most of the crushing but it had still been rather fun. Aura shook of the wondrous memory and looked around the room.
"200 well trained soldiers, scattered through out the whole area. Easily overcome by a four prong attack, by the time we get what we want there, we will be out of there before they have time to call for back up hopefully." Markus disclosed part of the plan he had already began to formulate during the introductions back in the foyer to the woman who asked and all others who would listen. He had only the attack patterns figured out so far, all he needed to know was a way that they could get out of there after the deed was done.
Waiting for the others to find their places in the room Syn closed the doors and made her way to a black leather chair to sit. “Thank you Markus. I’m glad you like it.” Before she could comment more her brother spouted out a reminder of something the politician had mentioned prior to them changing scenery. She heard his words repeat in her mind as Aura and Markus discussed the possible opposition awaiting them.
“You mentioned supplying weapons, but as you so gracefully mentioned, we can get things like that with no trouble at all. So, what else did you have in mind? I’m sure someone in your position has been on committee’s or boards and has heard of things the general public doesn’t know about.”
"Sure, you could say that, my understanding of the law and my knowledge on how to exploit it could benefit you if you need it." Ready to prove his loyalty to his fellow mutants, he offered his intelligence in a multitude of aspects which would benefit even the most petty of crimes.
"Perhaps I could help you appeal to the public, to better your secrecy, or possibly use it vilify any one who you see fit? There's a broad range of how far words in the right light can take someone, you just have to know what to say and how to say it."
Abyss smiled and shook his head. ' 200 hundred isn't enough to put a dent in our day particularly if we split them into four groups of fifty. My concern there would be that hopefully, I can't see Dc not having enough fire power to make us have a bad day. I won't risk lives for money. at least ours." he chuckled darkly.
" I suppose that would be a currency we don't currently have, could be fun." He spoke of the potential of messing with someones life without having to touch them. The large man nodded and went back to his pool game.
"Of course Mr. Abyss, people like us are held to a higher standard than others. I assure you, I can have at least two groups of "Lesserlings" to distract the main forces while we escape or fulfill our little plan." Markus spoke as he recollected on the word he had made up on the spot. That will not be found in a dictionary, but I like it! Gives a good feel to the upper hand Mutants have against humans. Markus then grinned and placed his fist under his neck softly and rested on it while still sitting.
"As they say, you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs." Markus spoke with a refined happy attitude in a retort to the Devil like mans concern.
Mars tapped his Chin, He had been playing pool when they entered. "I wonder though...You say you are a master of planning, Do you think it possible to pull it off with out anyone knowing that we were there at all?" he glanced to Syn, Aura and Isabel. " we aren't exactly subtle Normally and while we don't mind who knows we are dangerous, I think this sort of thing could use a touch of finesse opposed to simply destroying, it sounds fun, believe me I miss the days of smash grab and destroy. But Wouldn't it be a good test for us, if we could fulfill your request with out anyone the wiser until it was too lare, and if you handed us a plan that could do that, well, I think you'd be indispensable, But then if things went wrong we always have plan B."
Aurion had taken to the ceiling again almost immediately after they left the foyer. He didn't dislike walking on the floor, not really, but there was just something enjoyable, and a bit freeing, doing something most people can't, travel along walls and ceilings. He couldn't help but think that The Order members and Markus made an interesting distraction to any sanctuary residents, especially those who know of the Order and who they were. No one really said anything along the way to the Rec area, so he didn't break the silence and only nodded, waved slightly or smiled (well, tried to) to any residents that seemed quizzical of their procession through the halls. He didn't know if it helped or confused them more, but he had tried at least, to make it seem like everything was okay.
Which it was. Someone in Markus' position would have to be bat-sh*t crazy to try anything surrounded by Order as he was.
Aurion wasn't the smartest person around, nor was he a good tactician, so he left a lot of the details and planning up to the others, who he was sure had more experience with this sort of thing than he did. He took a position above and a little away from Abyss and his brothers, so he could watch them play pool, but also see and hear the others.
Politics, guns, money. None of that interested Aurion. He didn't understand politics much, but what he did, he didn't like. They were all a bunch of lying humans, or mostly humans he was sure. Guns, he couldn't really make use of, same with a lot of other weapons. His hands just weren't designed to handle human weapons anymore. Money....Sure the rest of them could buy things with it. Having more of it could probably help the Order, and the Sanctuary, but for himself, he had no use for it. He stroked his beard a bit thinking, trying to see himself with stuff in his room, stuff he had bought, or anything at all, but nothing fit.
Shaking his head he mulled over what had been said in the foyer and in the rec room, trying to think of anything to add, to point out, to question. "As they say, you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs." Aurion chuckled at Markus. 'I prefer cracking skulls.' He thought to himself and was about to say so when one of the red men spoke up.
Aurion pulled a face at the red man, "Not very fun. Probly safer yes. Harder do maybe?" He looked at Markus. "But test you could do. I think we try sneak in'n out." Aurion let himself swing downward, only holding onto the ceiling by his feet, as he crossed his arms over his chest, using his tail to rock himself back and forth a bit.
Syn looked towards Mars with a slightly surprised expression. “Since when do any of you want to do anything quietly? I thought you all enjoyed having a chance to unleash all that power you wield.” The potential for getting out and causing some noise so far had seemed to appeal to the majority of those gathered, or at least that’s how it had appeared to Syn.
“He said it himself. He’s ready to break some eggs. Besides, if we were going to do this quietly then I could do it all by myself.” The dark lady shook her head slightly. “I would rather see this happen as a group. We need this and once it’s done we’ll also have a new potential ally.” Syn looked to Markus. His connections could benefit Sanctuary and the Order.
Aura was about to reply to Mar's when Syn spoke up. She immediately gave the words precedence. She had little training for stealth though she could do it if needed. It was harder and less fun then the direct approach. Politics and money were meaningless to her but the chance to get our there and open up and some humans had her exited. However this was to go down Aura would follow the orders she was given. They would succeed, she had little doubt.
Looking over to Aurion, she admired her form for a few moments. In Aura's experience many people never looked up and so she judged Aurion's power to be a great advantage for them, weather they went stealth or not.
Glancing back to the other's Aura kept silent, weather they did this through brute force or through stealth Aura was confident their was littile the humans could do against a force like the Orders.
"Either or, with what I have in mind, I could just as easily make it seem that a couple of crooks broke into the B.E.P. instead of a group of highly skilled Mutants. Of course I'd just need you all to make sure that anyone that sees you, is killed, I'll handle any recordings." Replying to the struggle between those who were for and against asking the path of stealth, Markus quickly ran the possibilities of making such a change to his plan that would benefit them if they took that road. To him, he was hoping that this would turn out to be a long term relationship now that he found out that this place held more than what he expected. Markus thought this now deserved a larger investment than originally intended as well.
"It all depends on if it will provide for us more than what a simple unmasked attack would. As long as my identity stays a secret I am fine with what ever you all have in mind." Markus now hunched and threaded his hands into each other as he positioned his elbows on each leg.
Still swinging and rocking on the ceiling Auiron looked at the mutants in the room. "Well..." He said a little slowly as he stroked his chin and beard. Fixing his gaze to Mars, then to Markus, and then to Syn. "Why not both?"
"I not tactician like Markus. We do both? Could be fun." He stopped moving and went rigidly still, even his breathing would be hard to hear. "Get in quiet, sneaky, then," Aurion let go of the ceiling, twisting sideways as he did. As his body came down Aurion made a fist and slammed it on the edge of the pool table making the balls jump. "Surprise!" He had a wide grin on his scaled face. "Burst out. Humans scurry, scared, confused. Have big fun. Less time them respond, maybe draw humans close to us then.." He drew one claw across his neck, pantomiming slitting their throats. "Just an idea." He said shrugging.
That's when he looked at his hand, still clenched in a fist and realized what he had done. He looked at the red men and said sort of sheepishly. "Sorry."
