The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Gawain sat at a desk, doing some paperwork; he never thought being a simple Mansion greeter (and team leader) would come with paperwork, but it did. It was ugly. More disturbing than anything he had ever seen. No one is suppsoed to be doing paperwork at the beggining of the summer. Just. Wrong. Ugh. Not to mention boring. Boooo...
... RRRIIIIIINNNG!
The young mirrorwalker almost fell out of his chair when the phone went off. Not his cell, and not the normal office phone. THE phone. The X-men hotline. If was freaking loud.
Gawain just stared at the phone for a moment in disbelief. He was alone in the office. He had never had a call come in before. Sam or Streak or Shin or some senior X usually handled that part. Except, the offices were empty and everyone was scattered who knows where. And there was apparently a... situation. Somewhere.
"... Yes?" he said, trying to sound very confident and official. There was a whoel deal of ruckus on the other end of the line. And a whole deal of urgency. And a whole deal of information.
"... Okay, all right, could you slow down please? Can you repeat that? One thing at a time?... Okay... I see... A what?... Doing what?... Where?... A building?... Which building?... I see. Okay. Okay. Yes. We will be there. Yes. Right now. We are on our way."
Clink, went the phone. Easier said than done. Gawain stared into space for an eternally long moment. Then he took a deep breath and reached for his own phone. By the time someone picked up he was halfway across the hall to his room.
"Jorge? This is Mirror from the X-team. We have a mission. The Crystal Tower downtown just came alive and it ain't friendly. Police is already on the site. Call to all X-men right now. Where are you?... Oh. I see. Tell her I'm taking the team. I'll see you there in fifteen. Suit up."
Click, went the phone. By the time he reached his room Gawain was on to the next call.

Jorge
Jorge chuckled as he was pulled into his apartment. It seemed that there was just something in the air ever since he had proposed. They really were acting like teenagers all the time now, but neither of them were really complaining about this. Today, though, it was apparently the act of grocery shopping together that had offered casual yet meaningful glances at one another. The accidentally grazing of fingers, the holding of hands, stolen kisses; by the time that they had reached the check-out line, they were ready to head back to his apartment.
Once inside, and the door was closed and locked, and grocery bags were carefully set aside (not thrown since they were not animals), their lips met again. It was such a feeling to know that he was going to be married to this woman before long. But just as he managed to get his jacket off…his cell phone rang.
He took an exasperated breath as he leaned his forehead against her’s and shook his head.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” he grumbled as he fished his phone out of his jean pockets (wasn’t easy since Gemma still had her hands in there and was smirking). When he did pull out the phone and put it to his ear, he grumbled. “Yeah?”.
>> "Jorge? This is Mirror from the X-team. We have a mission. The Crystal Tower downtown just came alive and it ain't friendly. Police is already on the site. Call to all X-men right now. Where are you?”
“Ugh…with my…heh…fiancée.” he replied, trying to sound just a tad more professional and not like some kid who had been caught with his girlfriend.
>> “Oh. I see. Tell her I'm taking the team. I'll see you there in fifteen. Suit up."
So much for arguing. He simply agreed and turned to look at Gemma. She could already see that there was something important going on so both of them had turned back to their regular, adult mentalities. He sighed, though, irritated that he had to postpone things with her but with what Mirror was talking about, it sounded like his help was going to be needed. He shook his head as he leaned over and kissed her again.
“I’ve got to go,” he said as he nodded to his spare bag that he kept next to his closet. It was the one bag he kept rhere that kept not only spare clothes, but his x-uniform.
A nod from Gemma and he knew that she understood. After he changed into his uniform, Jorge promised he would be safe, and dashed out of the room. He would make it up to her, that much he knew…
Phone in one hand Gawain was opening the closet with the other, pulling out the X-uniform. Finally he would get to wear the thing outside the Mansion... arrows rattled in the quiver.
Rrrring. Rrrring. Click.
"Shin! Suit up! We just caught a call. Crystal Tower downtown is going berserk and there are people trapped inside. Kealey with you?... Great. Bring her. I'm assembling the team. Meet ya there in fifteen. Jorge already on it with the police."
Three out of two. God bless people who date within the team. Gawain hugn up and broke the call roll just enough to put on his uniform. He'd need to remember to complement Kealey on that one, by the way.

Crowbar. He'd needed a crowbar. To pry. A face. No, not really. Just kidding. He'd reached the phone in time and no kissing had to be forcibly separated at all...
'Mirror?' He answered. What the hell? Now was not a good time for--
>>"Shin! Suit up! We just caught a call. Crystal Tower downtown is going berserk and there are people trapped inside."
But it sounded important, so...
>>"Kealey with you?"
"Yeah. You could say that..." He looked at Kealey.
>>."Great. Bring her. I'm assembling the team. Meet ya there in fifteen. Jorge already on it with the police."
Fifteeeeeen.....
Well, at least they wouldn't need to get into uniform.

Jules
They were close enough that Kealey had managed to hear the whole call. In fact, in a fit of mischief, she'd nearly spoken into the phone in response to Mirror's question.
This sounded like a job for the X-Men though, and to be quite honest, Kealey's mind was occupied with things other than mischief at the moment. Like Shin, and like all the emotions, all the excellent emotions that were currently flowing back and forth. Mostly Shin though.
Shin hung up the phone, and much to Kealey's dismay pointed out that duty was indeed calling. Where had he said they needed to be? Crystal Tower? The blond looked at the clock and pouted. Fifteen minutes was hardly any time at all.
"A rain check then." she said with a smirk.
"Riding together or separate?" she asked, "I vote together."
Shaking into his jacket, Gawain had the phone in one hand while he reached for the archery gear with the other. Rring, rring.
"Emerald?... What the hell is that noise?... No I don't wanna know. Listen, Crystal Tower just grew a personality. A shitty one. Get your furry ass downtown we need to kick the doors in... YES YA'RE ALLOWED TO BREAK STUFF!!!... Geez. I'm assembling the X-team. I'll see ya there in fifteen... and Ems? DON'T go in alone!..."
Click. Gawain sighed, dropping the phone long enough to strap on his archery gear. He had no idea what use it would be against a freaking building - he was still wrapping his mind around that - but he would figure it out when he got there. Eventually.
Just another day at the office for Emerald Lupin, good ole dinner food, Dinner crowds and stupid people trying to mess that up. Today was a slow day, just a couple of dumb people decided to cause a ruckus in her dinner. As usual, she took care of it in her own creative sort of way. Good thing the fry cook was out of town today or he probably wouldn't have let Emerald back in the back.
Amidst, "Talking" to them men about what they had done and how much chaotic damage they had done to the store, Emerald got a call.
"What, I'm busy!" Emerald growled into the phone at her adopted sibling, just as a scream was heard from one of the two men she was talking to. At the moment, she had his hand shoved in the firer, for good reason of course, he was getting too fresh with the waitress and him and his buddy tried to help themselves to her.
She would have totally told Mirror what was going on but was cut off by more frantic orders. The werewolf quirked a brow at this, just as the other man started to yell too, she calmly kicked them both up against a wall to knock them out and succeeded at doing so.
"Can I actually break stuff," Emerald asked suspiciously about this mission, before she was interrupted with the fact she could break things. A grin crossed her face as feelings form the old X-team burbled inside of her. "I won't go in alone but ya damn well better let me do my own thing because this sounds like my kind of mission."
Emerald hung up the phone just as Mirror did, calmly bowing to the two unconscious men against the kitchen wall.
"Sorry boys, I'm busy tonight, but don't you worry, there's a nice cell waiting for you at the jail for trying to assault a cops girlfriend." Emerald smirked, as she strode out of the Dinner, out to her motorcycle. She knew Moe would take care of those thugs so she wouldn't have to worry about them getting into trouble anymore. The young waitress waved at her, giving her a grateful smile, which made Emerald give her one in return. The Alpha female wasn't about to let her dinner crew get hurt by a couple of thugs just "looking for a good time."
Emerald mounter her motorcycle with great importance, reeving up the engine before she speed off into the city. She didn't have time to go and get her old uniform. Besides, It had been a long time since she had been on an X-mission and her old uniform had gotten too small for her.It was a good thing that she wore her old biker gang get up today then. Her steel toed combat boots, cargo pants, black tank top and leather jacket with claw marks embroidered on the back with the word "Beast", were more than enough to look like a uniform right?
Well, she thought so, and off she went, speeding toward the Crystal tower on her green machine green helmet tight over her skull. Of course she was breaking all the traffic laws and speeding laws to get there, but that should be fine with the cops, official X-Business after all.
Archery gear in place Mirror flung the bow over one shoulder and had the phone in the other hand, storming out of his room.
Rrrr...
"... oh sh*t!" the phone dropped to the floor as Gawain bounced off the other guy's chest. It took him a moment to register who he was. He cleared his throat.
"CJ!" he picked up the phone and kept walking, trusting the alchemist to keep up "Right on time. We got a mission. Go get your gear, we're gonna fight the Crystal Tower. And I don't mean in it. I mean the freakin' building is alive. See you in the front lobby in sixty seconds."
The only thing more surprising than running into a Mirror walker, is running into a Mirror walker in uniform who has grow considerably since you had last seen them. Cafas was still more broad, but damn, Gawain had gotten tall. After a brief chest bump, completely by accident, it was all business, yet more reason to be surprised.
Oh... A mission, joy. "I was hoping the answer to the question why are you in your uniform was impromptu costume party. See you in the lobby." It wouldn't take sixty seconds, Cafas had heard the phone ringing from his room, it wasn't exactly subtle. It wasn't designed to be. Also he may or may not have been fiddling with his communicator at the time. It may or may not no longer be in a single piece, though he was proud to note he had not broken it. He could tell, because it went off and scared the heck out of him.
Should have taken the battery out before beginning work on the electronics, but hindsight is twenty twenty.
Jeans and shirt were casually lobbed through the still open door. His uniform already underneath. He pulled up the mask, put on his hat and jogged alongside Mirror. "Policy of weapons?" to be read, will I need them. Cafas had no idea what Mirror thought they would be doing while fighting a building, but he arched an eyebrow at the bow and quiver. Maybe he'd need a hammer, buildings in New York tended to have steel girders, but they also tended to hide them behind walls and floors.
He made it to the lobby keeping perfect step with the Mirror Walker. "So... Wanna take the jet?"
>>"I was hoping the answer to the question why are you in your uniform was impromptu costume party. See you in the lobby."
Gawain watched with an arched eyebrow as CJ peeled off his clothes and revealed the uniform.
"Tell me ya don't sleep in that thing."
They were already on their way to the front lobby, CJ tagging along as Gawain was trying to come up with the next member on the list.
>>"Policy of weapons?"
"Yes."
>>"So... Wanna take the jet?"
"I would, except I can't fly the damn thing and it would be hard to park downtown" he sighed, looking around at the top of the stairs "Get us a ride will ya? I'll be right down."
With that, CJ was on his own to figure out the rest. As someone who had stolen a car form the Mansion before, Gawain was sure it could be done.
Next stop: library. As much as he did not like it, he knew there would be trouble to follow if he didn't...
Ami was, of course, sitting at a desk, studying from a book that could have been used as a blunt weapon in a fight. Walking around her Gawain leaned down and kissed her thoroughly on the lips.
"Hey Panda. Happy X-men-making-out-before-a-mission Day. We got a building that went berserk downtown. You want in on the team? Suit up. Five minutes."
That had been some entrance. Totally unexpected. She put a hand on his neck and kept him there as a happy distraction from the irksome act of studying for far too long. Sadly, that thorough kiss had to break. And then he was talking. Her brain strained to switch modes. All she got was Through the Looking Glass and Unbirthdays.
"Berserk building? Suit up?" But she didn't have anything to wear... "I don't have a uniform." Her mouth was wide with shock, but she wasn't saying she would not go.

Rebecca found herself sitting with her back against a bookshelf reading up on postmodernism, enjoying the relative quiet of the library. She would call it relative because she could hear Ami nearby. There was a small voice that wanted to stop studying that suggested talking to her friend, but the last time she ran into Ami in the library... well, it was an awkward moment.
Interestingly enough, as much as Rebecca did not want to be a nosy teenage girl, she could hear a new male voice. Apparently they were making out (Oo la la!) and there was something about an X-Men mission.
Wait, she was an X-Man!
Ami already scurried off, but her boyfriend was still within reach. Rebecca left the now unimportant book on the floor and caught up with him. "Wait! Ah'm an X-Man!" Outloud that sounded more awkward than she assumed. "Ah mean, Ah'm Rebecca. If ye need more help on th' mission, Ah'm ready tae lend a hand!"
>>"Wait! Ah'm an X-Man! Ah mean, Ah'm Rebecca. If ye need more help on th' mission, Ah'm ready tae lend a hand!"
Gawain jumped at the voice and turned around. What do you know. The redhead called... Rebecca? Uh. That girl.
Gawain smirked and glanced around, expecting Agnes to show up any minute. He did miss the part about the infamous girlfriend being an X-man. Well, who was he to argue.
"Name's Mirror. If you wanna help, tag along, but I'm not babysitting trainees, this is a real mission." he nodded, walking out of the library, trusting her to follow. "What's your power anyway?"
please let it be something useful, he hoped silently as they walked towards the front lobby.
