The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Somehow there was nothing better than flying into a mission on a giant platform that resembled a pink tortilla chip. That was travelling in style. Shin and Kealey made excellent time, but the blond was surprised to see people already in motion as they landed at the front of the building and the platform disappeared.
Mirror seemed to have things under control, and Kealey nodded her head at his instructions. There was no need to get into a situation with too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. Yes it was an old cliché, but it fit admirably here. They were splitting into groups, each one with a specific task.
Glancing around at all the faces, the team-leader had to admit that she was impressed with the turn out. There were familiar faces, completely unfamiliar faces, and everything in-between. Ami was even there.
Wait. Ami wasn’t even a trainee yet! One of the X's that Kealey hadn't worked with before, Streak, was talking about looking for the source. Immediately, the blond knew where she'd work best.
"I'm going to find the source with Jorge and Streak, Shin. Good luck, be careful, and meet me back here after it's all said and done." she said to her fiance as she took off towards Aurum's little sister.
"Come on, you're with me." she said. "And we're already late."
Grabbing her X-Comm, Kealey spoke, "Jorge, can you give me your current position and hold? I'm coming in with backup. I think I might be able to use my powers to help find this guy."
OOC - Ami, feel free to blow Kealey off if other plans develop by the time you get to post!
The car ride to the scene of the mission had been crowded. And fast. Amelia sunk down in her seat, oversized Maya costume hopefully looking good on her as the collar pushed up high around her neck. This was a first. An X Mission... and she wasn't even an X. Someone would probably comment on it. But nobody had yet. She'd made it to the group just in time to pile in with them all. She'd even neglected to give Becca a little awkward nod. They could talk about greetings later.
More bumps. More stop signs avoided ... then there they were.
She glanced around at the media and police circuses dueling out front, glad to be with the group that didn't need to flash too many credentials to get in.
The tower loomed as she looked up at it. A voice from Gawain tore her attention away from the shining glass.
He mentioned several goals. Her mind seized upon one or two she could help with. Some people volunteered... And then some guy ran in, shouting some sort of MMO reference. Or maybe not SHOUTING it out. Not the entire thing. But she'd watched that video enough to place the reference and roll her eyes.
Seriously?
Well. It was time to pick teams.
>>"I'll take three others with me to find the mutant."
>>“I can get in and scope out for survivors or the mutant causing this,” one guy said.
And then a kid with blue hair and orange reptilian skin cut in.
>>"Ssir? I recommended checking the ssecurity camerass for cluess and recon, I am going to climb to the top out here, but I think that would be a good place to start. I requessted the officerss had the power cut in ten minutess, sso thats a limited time advantage."
And said some more stuff.
He looked familiar.
Everything was happening rapidly around her, and it was hard to keep up. People ran in and said more stuff. It was a good thing for her Kealey was there to step in and hold her hand. It kind of annoyed her, the hand-holding, in a totally understandable but still embarrassing teenager-wanting-to-be-the-boss way. She got over it quick.
She was with her? Late?
"Great."
Kealey spoke into the communicator and Amelia scratched the back of her neck impatiently. She didn't have one of those. It would probably be smart if she kept close.
"I'm with you," she said.
When Kealey was ready, they rushed their way into the building. Her hands clenched into gloved fists as she ran.

>>"I'm going to find the source with Jorge and Streak, Shin. Good luck, be careful, and meet me back here after it's all said and done."
"You too."
It looked like the seeking squad was full. That left rescues for him. He'd heard Koga mention something to Cervantes about finding people, and spotting him scrambling up the building towards its top. The top seemed a good place to rescue people. Summoning his shard platform again, Shin aimed for the top. As he went, he waved at Koga.
"Race you." He deadpanned. Then beat him by miles.
>>"I can force open nearby doors with metal or knobs, sir."
Gawain winced at being called 'sir'. The girl was probably just trying to soung professional, but... still. Hmm.
The X-men put up a good show for the policemen and civilians staring from the other side of the street. They looked like they have been practicing this forever, instead of a group where half the people does not even know the other half. So far, so good.
Gawain nodded to Streak as he took a group of three into the building to find the mutant; he hoped they would succeed, Kealey was their best chance. Koga and Shin took the roof, and CJ... well, the kicked down the door. The building shook, but the first X-men were already inside.
"Let's go." he nodded, following CJ and Saphirus inside before he doors had a chance to close somehow, one can never know with sentient buildings. Finding himself in the middle of the demolitions team, he looked around.
