The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Gawain's eyes widened for a moment. Then someone knocked on the door. Whoever was on the other side of that door just became richer with one mortal enemy.
Gawain groaned and silently buried his face in Ami's shoulder.
>>"An escape route. Can you take me to the nearest reflective surface to your room that isn't obvious from your door or the hall? And keep your emotions down. She senses hormones."
"Wh..." he looked up "What the hell is going on?... And if she senses hormones we are screwed already. By the way..."

Kealey’s cheeks were burning. Heck, her whole body was kind of burning with a blush after all of that. The blond fanned herself and sighed as she wandered through the hallways looking for Ami. It was tempting just to leave the younger girl to her own devices, but they’d come together and it would have been rude.
Geez, how was she going to explain all of this to Shin? Had it been her and her alone who‘d walked in on this whole situation then maybe Kealey would have just slid the whole thing under the rug and never looked the little redhead in the eyes again, but Ami was in on the whole thing and Kealey knew that if she didn‘t say something, Aurum‘s sister would the next time they were all together.
This was one of the major reasons they’d moved out of the mansion. Teenagers and hormones. It really wasn’t fair. Because seriously nobody wanted to be exposed to that all the time. At least not when it wasn’t themselves and the person they wanted to be exposed to that with…blah. Her thoughts weren’t even straight.
Ami wasn’t anywhere obvious to be found, so Kealey figured she must have wandered off to Mirror’s room. It was the only likely story, and of course that’s who the teenager had wanted to debrief with.
Yeah. Debrief. The irony wasn’t lost on the blond as she rounded the corner and made her way to the door. The emotions and hormones weren’t lost on her either.
”For the love…” she muttered, and knocked, crossing her arms and hoping irritation would wash anything else away. Twice in one night. Seriously.
"Hurry," she urged him. "And keep. Your emotions. Under control. Shhh!"
Like they could hide emotions from an empath? Oh well. At least this was one of the few people who actually knew she and Maya had... hey, more blushing. How fortuitous. Maybe she should just come clean?
Nope. Amelia dragged that hand free and gave it back to him, pressing it against his chest. Then she found her feet and started using them to get to a mirror. Or maybe a TV.
Amelia muttered. "What I wouldn't give to escape into a movie..." That might be better than all of this. But probably not.
>>"Hurry. And keep. Your emotions. Under control. Shhh!"
"Not an option" he growled, rolling off the bed for the second time in ten minutes, following Ami who seemed to be aimlessly pacing around the room. "Whatever the hell have you done to her?..."
Why was the resident empath of the X-team chasing down his girlfriend the middle of the night?...
>>"What I wouldn't give to escape into a movie..."
"Wouldn't work" he muttered "She turns the TV off we are back outside. C'mon."
Taking her hand he pulled her into the mirror, and then through into another one in the currently unoccupied room next door. He stopped there.
Yeah. Okay. This was stupid. And she was failing at her own emotion control thing.
"Take me back," she frowned. "Kealey's a friend. I can't just lie to her about being in your room this late. We were doing inventory, and then the stuff with Agnes and Becca, and now this. Her brain's probably fried too, and I ran... and now this. I can't do this to her." She literally facepalmed. Why was she being such an idiot? And why was she afraid of Kealey suddenly? "You don't have to worry about her being shocked or anything. She already knows about New Years..." She added in a disgruntled mutter.
You know what? Maybe it would be better if she just stepped out of the door right now? In the wrong room. Nope. That was dumb, too. Gah. Why was being a good friend such a lame thing right now? It really ruined the mood.
>>"Take me back. Kealey's a friend. I can't just lie to her about being in your room this late. We were doing inventory, and then the stuff with Agnes and Becca, and now this. Her brain's probably fried too, and I ran... and now this. I can't do this to her."
He still had no clue what was going on, but at this point he did not even try to understand anymore. Ami apparently grew a conscience and needed to talk to Kealey. Fair enough.
>> "You don't have to worry about her being shocked or anything. She already knows about New Years..."
Gawain blinked. Oh hell. That made this whole thing ten times more awkward.
"Wait... is that what this is all about?" he glanced towards the mirror and the door "He's your chaperone? Because if she knows about New Years she gotta know she is too late for that..."
With a sigh, he took Ami by the hand and pulled her back to his own room.
Stuff. And more stuff. When it rained, it poured and boy did she feel guilty. Gawain probably still didn't have a clue what was going on.
Back they went, and then, Amelia let go of his hand and went to the door. She looked over her shoulder at Gawain.
"She isn't my chaperone. This isn't about New Years. Like I said, we were doing inventory in the library. And then we stumbled onto something awkward. And I bolted to talk to you... it's late. I should probably get a ride home anyways." Her voice faded as she sullenly turned back to the door.

So there Kealey stood, arms crossed as she waited for the door to open.
And waited.
And waited.
Someone was none to happy and Kealey snorted slightly to herself. Served them right. Still, the wait was getting kind of irritating, and more than once she thought about turning around and simply leaving. Home was looking excellent at the moment.
The emotions faded, and the blond blinked…what the heck?
Fine. she thought, and was just turning to leave when they were back in full force, with a healthy dose of all the things that probably should have been there.
The door opened, and one look at Ami’s face made Kealey sigh.
”Of course I can.” Kealey looked past the abashed teenager to her boyfriend and shook her head slightly. They were teenagers, and Kealey knew that she and Shin weren’t much better most of the time.
”I’ll meet you down in the foyer in five minutes.”
That wasn’t enough time to do anything that was going to end up too embarrassing for anyone involved. At least Kealey hoped not.
"Hey Mirror." she said with an amicable nod, then turned and made her way down the hall. The clock was ticking though.
>>"She isn't my chaperone. This isn't about New Years. Like I said, we were doing inventory in the library. And then we stumbled onto something awkward. And I bolted to talk to you... it's late. I should probably get a ride home anyways."
Well, damn. She was the chaperone. Even if Ami did say no. Because things would have been completely different if Kealey was not around. Yes. Gawain rolled his eyes and let the girls talk. The look Kealey gave him said enough: she knew exactly what was going on and she was looking at two teenagers who were not supposed to be in the same room (let alone bed) at this time of the night. Ridiculous.
>>”I’ll meet you down in the foyer in five minutes. Hey Mirror."
"Hey" he muttered, arching an eyebrow at Ami when Kealey was out of the picture "Ya sure you don't want to stay?... I mean, not like... um, never mind." he sighed and kissed her on the forehead "Goodnight Panda."
This was unfair. This was totally unfair. She was embarrassed as hell, AND she had a good boyfriend who wasn't telling her to tell Kealey off and boldly go anywhere they'd never gone before. Also, she had just made a mental Star Trek reference and she was the world's hugest nerd on account of it. So grr.
GRR!
Plus, he'd kissed her forehead and he knew how she felt about that. She liked it. Dammit. Too good a guy.
God. She didn't even understand all the emotions whizzing and banging light-speed around her head.
She probably needed to go. Yes. She would have to go. Fine. And Kealey was waiting.
"I'll talk to you tomorrow..." She mumbled. Then sulked out of the room.
