The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I don't think anyone needs to threaten anyone," Skydancer stated, trying to calm down the situation before things got out of hand. Just because she felt confident about her ability to defend herself, didn't mean she particularly wanted to be put into that situation, especially not knowing if the red giants were anything other than red and large.
Aedus, it seemed, had similar ideas as he also went about clarifying his position on the situation. Skydancer nodded her agreement and, taking a cue from Aedus also eased her stance a bit. While she didn't reign in her tubes, she made sure they weren't pointed out quite so threateningly as they were initially.
Skydancer glanced down at the pitiful human criminals, feeling not the least bit of sympathy for their plight. Sometimes a little vigilante justice was exactly what was needed and it seemed the giants, whoever they were, dealt with things fairly. After all, the drug dealers were still able to crawl away from the situation more or less in tact, which was less more than some would have allowed. Her sort of friend Aura came to mind.
At the sudden and bizarre appearance of the man calling himself The Doorman, Skydancer could only stare dumbfounded. "Why should we follow a stranger through a strange doorway into a supposed paradise?" It seemed the most obvious question to ask. After all, how often was it that strangers offered you the door to paradise and what were the chances that it was some sort of trap?
Jupiter flared his nostrils and lot a long and steady steam of air flow out of them, He took a second deep breath and calmed himself. “Fair enough. I’m Jupiter, this is Saturn and Mercury” not that he expected them to be able to the difference anytime soon.
All four males gaped at the boy in the doorway, there had been a dark dank room on the other side of the wall just a moment ago. At least Sky had the awareness about her to state anything at all.
Doorman however didn’t seem fazed by the reaction, mostly because with his current back drop, he got it all the time. “Because people don’t turn down free island vacations, particularly to a place with only evolutions present. You know Mutants and adapteds. Island is all ours.”
He waved them forward invitingly. ‘ I promise I’ll open another door for you if you don’t like it here. “ He glanced around their surroundings. “Right back to your lovely alley with the upside down dumpster and warm garbage stench.”
Aedus looked at the teen in the door way and still couldn’t shake the awe that the kid was so nonchalant with three red giants a lava man and a violet femme fatale.
Mercury however had spied the sand and the sea breeze coming from the door way was too much, that air was fresh, fresh air was not something you got in New York City.
The boy stepped to the side to allow the Red wall of muscle as much space to enter as possible. “Come on! Lets go Swim!” Mercury yelled as he passed through. And tore off towards the ocean.
The boy finally looked concerned. But it only lasted a moment for him to get over the huge childish figure. “IF that doesn’t convince you I don’t know what will.”
The other two men looked like they were torn between not trusting the kid and getting their brother back. They finally proceded through the door.
Aedus looked to Skydancer. “ You coming?” He asked to see if she was going to go and trying to decide himself.

Skydancer nodded at the three red giants as they were introduced, fairly certain that she wouldn't be able to tell one apart from another. Now there was a curiosity though perhaps now was not the best time to indulge said curiosity. She filed away the thought for later questioning.
Skydancer gave the young man and his portal a long look. Now this was the sort of situation she never could have expected herself to be in. Here she was, in the middle of a dirty alley with mutants all around and an offer to go to some sort of paradise island. How could she ever have thought that such a thing would even be something she'd have to one day consider?
The portal boy, however, made a rather convincing argument made even more convincing as, one by one, the mutants around her decided to take him up on his offer. How dangerous could it be, really, with the giant red mutants and a lava mutant around? Besides, it wasn't as if she couldn't take care of herself as well, if it came to it.
"If nothing else, I suppose this'll be an adventure," Skydancer spoke to Aedus with a shrug and a grin. With that, she took an impulsive step through the portal, consequences be damned. If this really was some kind of mutant paradise, it was an opportunity too appealing to ignore.
Aedus nodded to Dance, a smile appeared on his face for a moment before the lava melted it away again. “if you’re in, so am I.” He waited a moment for the nimble young lady to pass him by. And only then followed along, He moved much slower in this form, the effort it took to get the lava to flow in steps was tiresome, but the fact that he could talk smack to giants and jump off of buildings was a plus. From the looks of them his obsidian form might not even protect him much if they decided to attack. As he moved, he left small steaming pot holes in the concrete behind him.
The sun was in the same position as it had been in New York, but that was the only hint that they were still on the same planet. They left behind a world of Technology, smog, clutter and over population for a simple, clean and low traffic get away. The sea air attacked their lungs with a freshness a New Yorker wouldn’t recognize, the over whelming calm the world around them presented was astonishing. Horns traffic and boisterous yelling was replaced, by the sounds of wildlife, waves and sea breezes. Everything grimy was wiped away by a serene sense of nature at its best. The island was indeed paradise, fruit and flowers seemed to be abundant upon every plant. The wildlife was vast and colorful.
After entering the portal Mercury had immediately cast away his shirt and shoes and socks and headed for the ocean. The big man rushed the water and quickly turned back and ran from the surprisingly brisk temperature of the endless blue. The water was a shocking clear blue, Mercury watched as his feet struck and disturbed the sand below the water. He was gone to the world the island paradise was more than he could imagine.
Saturn and Jupiter watched the young man carefully to see what might come next. Jupiter was only slightly surprised when saturn opened the void and out stepped, Venus, Mars, Abyss and Pluto, after the door was closed it apparently closed the distance that they were from the void, and then were too far away via worm hole. The other four glanced around with a bit of disorientation as they were each doing other things. Mars stood with a lab coat and a pair of beakers that he quickly corked and put into a breast pocket. Venus gazed over his companions and his eyes landed on the purple skinned girl in the lovely blonde wig, He stood in only a pair of boxers. Abyss finished the last bite of his sandwich and, Pluto unclenched his fists and stood strait once more, of the clones, he was the only one that styled his hair differently (shaved it off), his tail was black and he was cover in large words that seemed random positive exclamations. Justice! Truth! <KAPOW> <BAMF> and so on. He took a couple steps back to get clear of the others.
Abyss was the first to speak. “Not that I am complaining exactly, but what are we doing on an island? And where are we exactly.”
Aedus was moving about and watching his feet with fascination as each step turned the sand under him into smoldering glass. He looked up as the number of Red giants more than doubled; He instinctively put himself between Sky and the majority of the others.
Venus looked to the lava man and Tsked. “That lovely flower is in no danger from us, some answers would be appreciated though.”

Skydancer was instantly struck by just how different the place was that she ended up in when compared to New York. The very air smelled different, clean and crisp as compared to the polluted smog of the big city. She couldn't remember ever having scented air that was so pure and wonderful.
Then there were the sounds around them. Gone were the cars, buses and construction of the city only to be replaced by the gentle waves of the sea. The song of the birds all around them was positively enchanting and Skydancer couldn't help but smile. Having lived in a city all her life, it was hard to imagine that such a perfect little paradise even existed.
Or course, there was the fact that the three red giants had somehow more than doubled, that fact was a little disconcerting but she didn't think that was the portal man's doing. Or at least, if it was the portal man's doing she didn't think he meant anything malicious by it. If this was meant to be a trap, it certainly was a strange choice of prisons.
Although Skydancer wasn't in any particular need of protection, she appreciated the gallant gesture from Aedus all the same. "I'm afraid I don't have many answers to offer," Skydancer replied with a touch of confusion in her voice. 'Lovely flower' wasn't something she could recall ever being called before. It was...interesting. "I think this is supposed to be some sort of paradise island for mutants." It sure looked like a paradise anyway and their little group meant there were no shortage of mutants around.
Aedus looked to the red that was throwing around off the cuff compliments and felt like he should say something like ‘I saw her first’ or back off. But instantly realized how that might sound to the lady behind him.
“good to know, just a bit out of sorts about whats going on here exactly, “ He then turned to the one that was less concerned about Skydancer and more concerned about location. “Address your questions to Doorman over there. He’s the one that said our presence was requested.” His lava form was cooling at an accelerated rate thanks to the cool breeze and his glowing presence was cooling into slick black surface.
Venus stepped aside of the burning oaf and smiled at the young woman. “ so, I take it you’re a new Yorker?”
Doorman nodded to the five large red men and the lava shifter that was paying attention, its true our chief wanted to extend an invitation out to you and yours and make you aware of this Mutant paradise.” He swiped the purple girls naming of the place . “ as far as where you are, we are on a small island near the Galapagos. We live and thrive here in the closest thing to a utopia this world has ever achieved. Think about a place untouched by humans, now we do have a few adapteds here, but they aren’t aggressive in their nature, they work as medics and mediators when a mutation becomes troublesome for the mutant, some have issues that are easier to deal with when reduced to a human state, and are happy to mediate when there is a potentially disastrous conflict between neighbors. If any of the Adapteds make you uncomfortable when in their range, all you have to do is make them aware and they will do their best to keep out of your comfort zone. All of that said, I believe the old man has hopes of some or all of you moving here.” Mercury in the time the others had the relatively short conversation had managed to begin a massive sand castle. He would not be showing up to the meeting, but was the first to be convinced that the Island was better than the city.

Skydancer should have been overwhelmed by the whole thing, from all the strange mutants around her to the fact that she was thousands of miles away from where she was only moments before. The tranquil atmosphere of the strange little island and the welcome of the Doorman, not to mention the fact that all the mutants around her seemed likewise welcoming served to all but eliminate any discomfort she would have otherwise felt. A nagging voice at the back of her mind kept telling her that she really should be more careful and keep her awareness about her, but that voice was easily quashed.
"I am a New Yorker," Skydancer answered the charming red giant with a smile. "Well, not originally but I've been there for a few months now." She didn't pick up on any of the tension between the red giant and Aedus. The fine interplay of social interactions had never been her strong suite and given the unusual circumstances, she was less inclined than usual to realize what might have been going on.
"So we're free to stay here and relax," Skydancer asked the Doorman. It still seemed a bit too good too be true, but then again so had The Mansion and so far that had panned out. "And to leave whenever we want to?" Sunbathing seemed like a wonderful idea. While she couldn't tan, neither could she burn so it came down to the pure enjoyment of the sun beaming down upon her.
Doorman Looked to SkyDancer.. "Absolutely, any work we do is completely Voluntary and for the good of the community,I Imagine that you all might be recruited into pitching in with the manual bits of work, if willing and wanting to help. As for leaving as you please, absolutely, I can be hard to track down, so Sometimes you might have to wait until I settle down for the night to let me know you want a door opened. But I can get you, where you are going quicker than boat, plane or foot. But even then if you were insistent on leaving there are others about that could help expedite things. in other words absolutely not here except by choice." Doorman ran his hand through his hair.. " If it was that kind of place i wouldn't have brought you here."
"So, if none of you are in a rush, you can take sometime and look around the island and speak to the chief later. give you a chance to fall in love with the place before the old man reels you in." He laughed lightly. ' Ofcourse if you want to resist the islands charms before he gives you the pitch you might want to meet him sooner than later. If not I think I am going to go get in on that sand castle." he started to meander toward Mercury.
Venus looked to Sky and smiled. " I wouldn't mind getting to know the charms on this island."
Aedus was a sleek black satue with only his eyes to proclaim that he had any lava within.
Abyss Mars and Saturn quickly started to have a muffled conversation discussing things while Jupiter began to bicker with Pluto. It seemed less than friendly. the Black tailed red man seemed to be daring the other to start something, a quiet calm anger about him.

The more Skydancer heard about this strange little island the more bizarre and surreal it all seemed to be. And yet...and yet there was something that just felt right about it; authentic. Nothing that was said seemed to be dishonest and while she wasn't entirely certain of the motivations involved, it all seemed to be just as the Doorman said it was. Bizarre to say the least, but who was she to reject such a good thing? This was, perhaps, just what her sanity needed.
"If we're allowed to stay here and enjoy this place, then of course we're willing to help," Skydancer answered. No, none of the others were allowed to dispute her volunteering them. If everything was as it seemed, and so far she had no reason to suspect that it was not, then red giants and lava men or not, it was only fair that they give back a little bit.
Skydancer turned her attention back to Venus and Aedus. "I would love to take a look around the island. Would you to care to accompany me?" The dispute between the other red men wasn't any of her concern and something she'd rather avoid. Venus and Aedus both seemed nice enough and she could do with avoiding whatever conflict happened to be brewing.
Life on the Paradise Island was simpler than it ever was in the city. There was no care for responsibilities, for keeping people happy or for staying out of trouble. There were no expectations of him, except what he was all ready happy to do to contribute to the wonderful little getaway. It was a place to relax, wind down and regain his sense of equilibrium. Here, no one cared that he was a mutant and a broken mutant at that, or what he could or could not do for anyone else. No one wanted to use him for his powers, they just wanted to let him be and let him be happy. This was the place Juka Miami had been calling home for the last several months.
When Juka had first arrived, floating through the sky, following nothing more than a rumour, he had been both desperate and depressed. He had fled his captors, his mind and powers both seeming forever broken. Ever so slowly his mind had improved, relearning what it was to be happy and free, while his powers had not. In the end, he had learned to accept things as they were because in the end, there wasn't much he could do about it.
The past few months had been some of the most peaceful of Juka's life and he could say he had been genuinely happy recently. He was beginning to get antsy, however, and knew that very soon he'd have to leave that most amazing of places and return back to the city of New York. Home. Not just yet however.
Walking casually out to the beach, Juka froze at the sight he saw there. Right there, on the middle of the beach, were some of the last people he expected to see, people from the life he used to live before leaving. He ignored both the purple and the black skinned mutant; strange mutants were a regular occurrence there, and instead stared at the red skinned mutants and one red skinned mutant in particular. He didn't know all the brothers, but there was one he had known very well indeed. "Venus." The word came out low and stunned. Of course, despite his usual extravagant dress, he wasn't at all certain his former lover would recognize him. After all, he was years younger than he had been when they were together. Or at least, as together as two people could be who had a tendency to sleep with different people every night.
Venus quickly agreed with the petite violet girl. “ Of course we shall help while we are here, this island embodies what we believe in, the existence of this place is a getaway from the world that waits to realize its flaws.”
His brothers couldn’t argue with that logic and while the cooling lava man seemed to be annoyed with his presence he didn’t disagree.
Venus smiled at the young woman. “Him, or me?” he questioned lightly, it wasn’t quite a competition at this point but he would allow lava man a fair chance, for a limited time only. His eyes caught a young man out of the corner of his eye.
“Juka?” he wanted to say it was Juka or a young sibling of the man he had known long ago. He was reduced from attractive to adorable, but if it was the young man he thought it was, he had a memorable date waiting for him in a few years.
