The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Darcy wandered in to the living and sat down on one of the more confy couches. She had been at the masion for 2 weeks now but she still hadn't managed to meet anyone, she guessed she was "e", she just couldn't seem to intergrate.
She flumped her favourite old shoulder bag onto the floor and took out a rather ragged, misused copy of Stephen King's Misery. It was one of her favourites. She stuck a cushion behind her head and bretahed deeply. She had no idea being a mutant was this lonely.
Teddy was wandering around the mansion. It was just one of those days apparently. He don't really know why these days seemed to come with a little more frequency than they used to but today was definitely one of them.
As he made his way around he found himself entering the living room. There was, surprisingly, only one person in there. There was usually a whole bunch of people but not today, oddly. It didn't matter he don't know this person and from the looks of her she was older than him.
Teddy saw that she had just pulled out a book to read. The book looked old and tattered. He supposed that she might like a nice conversation rather than read a book for the millionth time. Ted sat down in the chair next to the couch. He noticed the title of the book.
It was a book he hasn't heard of. Of course he also didn't read a whole lot so it wasn't too often that he came across someone reading a book that he had heard of. "Hi there." Teddy said venturing into the assumption of a wanted conversation.
Darcy looked up suddenly at the voice. That was the thing with Stephen King books, onse you started reading you jumped at your own shadow. Darcy blushed as she saw it was a guy, younger than her but not by much. sorry she smiled, holding up her book, she's about to cut off his foot! she smiled, hoping that that made some sort of sense to the boy. She sat up, folded her page over and placed it on the arm. "I'm Darcy," she said with a miniture wave.
Teddy smiled when she jumped. It was a bit funny that someone like him could make her jump. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." Teddy offered. Apparently it was a good book. It wasn't so much that he didn't like reading it was more like he was a picky reader; almost like someone is a picky eater. The girl introduced herself as Darcy.
"Well, it's nice to meet you Darcy. I'm Teddy." He noticed that she folded the page and closed the book. She was open to having a conversation. This was a good thing. "It's a Stephen King book so I'm just surprised your still sitting there in your own skin. How long have you been here?" Teddy asked.
It was a question that he found himself asking over and over again to different people. Nothing wrong with that it was just starting to be something that slipped off the tongue almost as easily as his name. A question that, for some odd reason passed thought his mind was this, "Is the book good? What's it about?"
Darcy smiled at him. Teddy was such a fitting name for the boy. His voice told her that he was older than he looked, but if he hadn't started talking, Darcy would have placed him in his early teens. "not long, a couple of weeks now" she said in answer to his question, "my brudder wanted me out of his apartment, ders not a lotta room." she felt like she needed to explain herself. It was one of the downfalls of being older at a school, you had to find reasons to belong.
Darcy's eyes sparkled when he asked her about her book. Although Darcy wasn't a huge reader of classic literature, a good thriller was always kept in her bag.
"It's about this writer and he crashes his car and then he gets kidnapped by this woman who sez she's his biggest fan and then she makes him write a book for her and at the end she tries to..." Darcy stopped herself, she was speaking with no punctuation and at 5 billion miles per hour. "sorry, you should read it, it's good." she shuffled over on the couch, making room for the boy to sit if he wanted to. "so, how long have you been here?" she said, slowing down her words a little so her accent wasn't as strong.
Teddy was interested int what she had to say about it. He found it interesting that there was someone of her age around that wasn't working for the mansion. Most of the people that he'd seen around her age, even thought she was only a few years older than him, seemed to have jobs around here. And that seemed to be the biggest reason why they stuck around instead of going off in the world. Of course the world was a frightening place for mutants sometimes and he was sure that humans for some reason always seemed to blame mutants for the problems that were going on.
The teen smiled. He liked her accent it amused him. Not in the funny 'haha you talk weird' first grader way; but in the 'man I wish I had an accent like that. It sounds so cool.' kinda way. When Darcy started to explain the book he had to hold back a laugh. It was apparent that she liked the book and she was excited to explain it to someone because she was talking so fast that her amusing accent made it hard for her to understand a bit. When she stopped he noticed that she slide over to make room for him. Teddy got up and sat next to her as she started to talk a little more slowly. "I really like your accent." Teddy stop himself from saying it. It was just to cool to not admire.
"I've been here about a year and a half or so." He said answering her question. He wasn't to sure on the exact length that he'd been here. While he was here he always felt that the time was flying by and he was certainly enjoying his time here. Although, there were some times when he missed his parents but since he didn't live here year round he visited them sometimes. "Where exactly are you from?" He asked wishing to know more about her accent specifically. He knew that she wasn't from the U.S.
Darcy smiled at him. So how old was he when he started here? He must've been young. Darcy wouldn't have been able to be away from her parents that long when she was his age, unfortunately they were paying for her clinginess.
She laughed. "Thanks, I'm from Dublin in Ireland. I think people find it hard to understand me, I find it hard to understand you lot sometimes" she laughed thinking about Emily, the girl she met on the train. "America is weird," she said as an after thought.
Teddy laughed. He certainly couldn't argue with her logic. "Ya. America is definitely weird." He agreed. It wasn't so much that she'd said it in her accent or anything, it was more the fact that no one could deny the oddities that occured in America. Especially when it came to politics. "I can see where our sayings and things can get newcomers confused, even if they have spoken the language their whole life."
He was certainly enjoying this conversation. Unfortunately, he started to feel pretty tired. He couldn't really understand why. It wasn't like he was losing a lot of sleep or anything. He was tired. Teddy covered his mouth with his hand to try and hide a yawn. "Oh sorry. I don't know where that came from." The teen said smiling again. "Do you have a favorite thing about living at the mansion, or America?" He didn't think he'd met anyone from outside the country before and he was curious to see how she viewed his homeland.
Darcy smiled. It was like being interviewed. His curiosity added to his apparent innocence. Darcyreplied to his yawn by doing so herself, she covered her mouth to try and be polite but ended up laughing halfwya through, giving a weird mixture between an intake of breath and a snort. It wasn't attractive...
She looked horrified at herself and then burst out laughing again, "I'm so sorry" she said, claming herself down, "I've no idea where that noise came from!".
She shuffled on the couch. "err...the weather is definately better than back home, but I guess the best thing about here is the food! I thought the fact that you guys eat a lot of pizza and pancakes was just a myth but I'm sure I've put on weight since I got here!" She podged out her chin in a jokey kind of way. It was ironic because of her minute size.
When Teddy finished his yawn hers seemed to take over the space. It was funny how even though it would be silly to suggest that yawns were contagious it still seemed that way. Oddly enough her yawn was interrupted by laughter.
That just made it all sound much funnier. The good thing was Ted started laughing with her. He just shook his head. He didn't mind. It was just a funny noise. No harm done in this case.
"Well it's not always pizza and pancakes... Just most of the time." he said smiling. It was. Joke of course but one that seemed to be true. Most did eat pizza a couple of times around the mansion but other than that thy didn't really consume a lot of it. At least not that he saw.
"I guess its just convenient." Teddy hadn't known her for long but he said anyways, "I doubt you've put on any weight." he learned from his mother that it wasn't polite to say that girls were fat or that they've put on weight whether or not it was true.
