The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura nodded to the plan, it seemed solid enough. She watched as Jirou made his way to the repair shop area. She waited a few moments before she heard the blast, it would have been hard not to. As Aura peeked through a hole in the wall she was behind she could see the four figures on look out running to the repair shop to investigate, they seemed very confused and although they seemed in a rush they took their time to actually look.
Aura moved as quietly as she could and somehow, slipped past the running guards and into the building. Their was no one inside from what she could see and the only light on the ground floor was what came from the smashed windows. Aura then found a door that looked heavier then the other's, this one also had a strange red symbol painted on it. Aura grabbed the handle and tried to open it, but the door was locked.
Releaseing her Aura, she formed a thin Aura knife from her pointer finger and jabbed it into the lock, it took a few moments but she eventually heard a snapping sound that sounded like it echoed far more then it should have. Opening the Door Aura thought she could hear voices and as quietly as she could made her down the stairs, as she reached the bottum she realized the room was lit with candles but no one was in it, However their were two doors in the room and one was labeled boiler room.
Not knowing what a boiler room was, she decided to check the unmarked door first, the room was vast and sprawling and likely took up most of the underside of the building itself. Aura could see right away the three cages, which looked to be lit particularly well. A few more steps and Aura was able to make out the robed figures. Deciding that letting them prepare if they did know how to use their powers was likely a bad idea. Aura crept closer, until she stepped on something, that cracked loudly under her Aura covered feet.
Seeing a few of the Robed figures Look back, Aura shrugged and ran forward, half way to the group she suddenly shot left into the darker area of the room and formed an Aura sword on each hand before darting back the right, as she emerged into the light, Aura swung and the hand on the robed figure holding the vial of M dropped to the floor. The man yelled loudly, and weather out of panic or rage lashed out At Aura with the other hand. Aura moved back and Dodged but now the rest of the group was finishing their own viels of M, Aura could not see if they all did however. She backed up a few steps trying to get them to leave the cages alone, for when Jirou came down. Aura figured with the howling of the man, Jirou would find the right door quickly not that these clowns had hidden it at all.
Aura watched as the man to the left of who she attacked, smiled his eyes glowing red. A moment later twin red beams shot from them and though Aura dodged,, she was able to see their effect. As soon as they struck the table, it ignited in flame. She had no idea how dangerous this one was or any of the others however.
It was such a nice day out. The birds were chirping and nesting in the rundown warehouse, and so far the ceremony was going off without a hitch. While he would never openly admit it to anybody within their little gathering, he wasn't particularly a fan of actually witnessing the actual rituals. Of course it was still all for the greater good. Those higher evolutionary beings had to understand that in order for all of mankind to proceed a few weaker lambs would have to be offered up.
He remembered the first time he had transcended. It was such an exhilaration and eye opening experience. He remembered how his body had changed, how small thorny spikes had suddenly sprouted from fore arms while a pair of insect like wings had sprouted from his back. He couldn't wait to ascend again, to become a higher evolutionary once more. He listened to the chants from inside the building and hummed along with them, though the sudden explosion form the abandoned repair shop broke his concentration.
Grey smoke billowed from the hole that had been blown into the hangar bay like doors of the shop. He wondered what had caused such an explosion. Three other guards had left their posts to go investigate. While he was certain they could certainly handle whatever it was that caused the disturbance, he was curious none the less. He quickly jogged to catch up with the group, his left hand clutching the syringe that held the key to his transcending.
They all stood a few feet away from the hole, looks of awe and bewilderment were found on each of their faces. He wondered what would have caused such an explosion. Nobody was willing to enter the building to investigate. If none of them were eager to figure out what had happened, then he would have to show them how it was done. He'd certainly earn himself a few brownie points with the clerics for this.
He took a few steps forward and placed his hand on the jagged edge of the ruptured door. It was still quite warm from the blast. He continued to wonder what had caused the ruckus. He looked through the opening into the dim and unlit building. No wait, it was lit. There was a neon green light shone from behind a parked forklift. That was certainly odd, but what made it stranger was that the green light was now hurtling towards him.
It looked like a wrench.
The wrench struck the guard in the sternum before exploding in a bright green blast. Where once was a person, there was now only what could have been described as hamburger helper with marinara sauce. Heavier objects made for far superior tools of destruction.
Jirou quickly jumped from his cover behind the forklift and hurled the last wrench in his possession out of the hole where it struck the ground, taking out one more guard, and severely disorienting the other two. With a quick series of strikes and blows, Jirou shattered knees and crushed windpipes, effectively neutralizing his opponents.
Now that the coast was clear, he hurried to get to Aura and provide her back up. He only hoped he wasn't too late to the party.

Skydancer heard the blast in the distance just as surely as the cultists did, though whether that meant things were about to change for better or worse was not immediately apparent. When a familair mutant emerged from one of the hallways, she decided it was definately for the better. Whether the rumours of Aura being a murderer were true or not, right at that moment, Skydancer half hoped they were true. After all, she was fighting for her own freedom and the freedom of the other two imprisoned mutants.
It was impressive to watch as Aura formed her aura into blades and infuriatiating to be so helpless to actually do anything, especially as the M fueled cultists began to fight back. "Get me out of here, I can help!" because right at that moment, she didn't much care about being a good person and not hurting anyone. Right at that moment, she wanted to hurt her prison wardens, or worse because she had some inlinking what the were planning to do to her and she didn't like it one bit. 4 tubes emerged from her torso and slammed into her glass cage but, as before, they didn't make any difference at all.
A second figure emerged from one of the passageways, this one apparently the one who had caused the initial explosion. "Get me the hell out of here!" The rainbow feathered mutant continued to cower in his cage while the mutant in the plastic cage seemed just as eager to get out and help as Skydancer was.
The head cultust ignored the commotion around him and, ceremonial dagger in hand, rushed towards the cage of the electric mutant. For a moment his hands glowed white until an energy ball discharged, going right through the plastic cage and into the electric mutant's body. She fell to the ground in a heap, unconscious and the cultist rushed to open the cage.
Aura tried to move so that she could get behind the Cages but was quickly stopped by a strange looking man who was seemed to be made of some black tar like Material, a quick slash simply threw the black material away from the man and onto the glass cage, Sky dancer was in. The material at once, began burning into the glass, it was not enough to crack or destroy it, simply enough to weaken it. Aura however was unable to pay mind to this a she felt something strike her hard in the back and then grab her arm.
Aura had no idea what had grabbed her, even as the Ascended human began to swing her around in a circle, to splatter the Aura woman on the wall. Aura let her blade resolve and reformed the blade under the man's hand, he let go quickly, not that he had a choice. The man screamed as he looked at the remains of his hand and Aura had a brief time to muse on weather she would win this fight by litterly unhanding each of her opponents.
She felt her Back strike a book shelf, which fell backwards, Aura landing on top of it. Taking a breath she realized she was much further from the cages then she had wanted to be. Two of them were down, or Aura assumed so, so they seemed far more concerned with their hand's.
It was then the first Mutant she had seen use a power seemed to lose control, despite his trys his power would not shut off, and as looked around is desperation, things lit aflame. The sprinkler system did not seemed to be working and Aura took comfort in the fact that most of what was in the basement seemed to be non-flammable items. She had only a few Moment's to consider this when a new man stepped forward this one had a finger that was glowing a bright blue, He pointed At Aura and a bullet of blue energy narrowly missed her. The man smiled, uncocnerned with his freinds prolblums.
The entire facility was a maelstrom of pure chaos and confusion. Occult followers, both human and M enhanced alike. This made things a bit difficult for Jirou as he fought his way to the ceremonial chamber where Aura and the captive mutants were being held. A flurry of neon green cards and subsequent explosions shook and reverberated through the underground hallway leading towards his destination.
Two humans were sent flying through the doorway into the chamber after receiving several high velocity cards to their skulls, which erupted in brilliant emerald green vapor clouds. Jirou quickly rushed through the swirling smoke and dust into the melee that was unfolding.
From across the room, he spotted the holding cells for the three mutants, one of which was dead while the other two were still very much alive. He also found Aura, who was presently being set upon by a human cultist with a glowing blue finger. Thinking quickly, Jirou measured up and flung a single charged card with all of his strength across the room. The card arced to the left slightly as it sailed through the air before curving back to the right, striking the enhanced human in the temple. The card exploded and the human's eye's rolled into the back of his skull as he fell to the ground in a heap.
Meanwhile, the human who had lost control of his newly acquired abilities was torching everything he was setting his sights upon. He stumbled and flailed as he attempted to regain control. Jirou needed to act quickly before he unwittingly set his deadly gaze upon himself, Aura, or either of the two mutants still alive. Not wanting to take his chances, he pulled out the .45 from inside his jacket. With a well practiced hand, he squeezed off a couple of rounds which easily perforated the cultists unprotected body, dropping the man like a rag doll.
Jirou quickly brought the pistol around to bear on another M enhanced human which was dashing towards the cage holding a rainbow feathered mutant. A sudden blow to the back sent him tumbling to the ground, while his .45 was sent skittering across the floor.
He rolled to his back to see a rather large, and rather angry man standing over him. In the dimly lit room it looked like he was holding a sledge hammer in his hand, but as the man's hand warped and twisted into the shape of an axe head, Jirou knew he was dealing with an M headed human. The man swung the axe hand towards Jirou's head, who quickly rolled to the right, and then to the left, dodging strike after strike like some sort of sick twisted cartoon.
A quick up kick to the man's groin ended the furious slew of attacks. As the huge man doubled over, clutching his wounded manhood, Jirou brought both feet up and struck out once more, smashing the brute's nose in and sending him toppling over backwards onto the hard concrete floor. With a handspring, Jirou was back on his feet and back into the fight.

The lead cultist, intent upon his victim, ignored the chaos around him for the time being. His ball of energy, unknown to those around him, hadn't killed his victim but merely rendered her instantly unconscious. It was a simple thing, after that, to open the cage door and stab is dagger directly into her chest, chanting the proper ceremonial words as he did so. M was the medium his god uitilized in order to grant his divine gifts. They were imperfect vessels and as imperfect vessels, M took its tool on each of their lives, shortening them little by little, aging them faster than they otherwise should age. He knew the key however and that was to find the perfect sacrifises, to please their god so that he would grant them their proper life to go along with their divine gifts and each soul he brought to his god brought him closer to that goal. The poor little electric girl was only one among many and no interfering mutants would stop his plans, not after he had worked so long on them.
Skydancer watched everything from her glass cage and what she saw both horrified and sickened her. Humans, M users and non-users alike, battling mutants and everywhere she turned, people killing and dying horribly. She saw as the cultist murdered her fellow captive and saw his eyes turn upon her, as if she was his intended next victim. The way the two mutants fought to defend Skydancer and the other captives was at once both horrifying in its grace and lethality and also strangely beautiful.
When the burning tar-like material struck Skydancer's cage, she didn't need an invitation to renew her efforts to escape. She slammed several tubes into the glass and saw a hairline crack appear. Two more collision of similar force and the glass finally shattered, allowing her freedom once again. In that moment, however, freedom seemed far more dangerous than the relative safety her glass cage had offered her.
Once free, Skydancer's first priority was to allow the bird mutant boy his freedom as well. The other two seemed too preoccupied with their own problems to be of much help at that moment but they also seemed competent enough to take care of themselves. The sprinklers went on due to an out of control man with a problem setting everything he touched on fire, but she ignored it. What she didn't ignore was a familair white energy ball coming from the cult leader and a dextrous dive to the side and a roll on the ground allowed her to avoid it, if only just barely. A moment later she was back on her feet, a tube shooting towards him. Her enemy, unfortunately for him, was not nearly so adept at dodging and it was a simple thing to wrap a single tube tightly around his neck, strangling him to unconsciousness. Hopefully unconsciousness, because even in the present situation she wasn't sure she could justify the morality of murder; that would be stooping to their level and she hated to even consider it.
Once the immediate threat of the cult leader was taken care of, Skydancer turned her attention on the cage with the feathery mutant, who was present cowering in the corner. Two tubes shot out and wrapped themselves around two bars set next to one another on the cage. With a grunt of effort and pain, she managed to bend them apart, just enough for the mutant boy to get free.
Aura had been about to try and remove the finger, when the problem was solved in a quick and efficient way Aura could admire. She watched the man drop as the card exploded on his head, Aura did not bother to check if the man was still alive, nor did she particularly care. Jirou had been a good choice in aide for this job. She may not have liked guns but Jirou also used his better then most people she knew. She looked over at The cage's to see that Skydancer had made it our and for that she was thrilled.
Aura however then encountered the Tar man again, and once again her Slash did littile more then spread the substance, flinging bits of it the ground. Aura ducked below another of his strikes, and reformed her sword into a drill, and rammed the drill into his stomach, the drill simply threw the tar from the man, until Aura could see right through the man. Thge tar however was burning holes in the floor and heavy pillar behind her.
Aura pulled her hand back just as the Tar man reformed though smaller then he had been, he smiled and Aura blocked his punch against her Aura though she quickly realized the tar's nature given time would eat through her aura, so she rolled aside his next blow and dropped her Aura letting the tar fall as she quickly reformed the armor. The tar man followed her, but Aura got an idea, and grabbed a burning book and threw it at the tar man who quickly ignited in a highly flammable inferno. The Man seemed to preoccupied with his flaming body to continue their fight.
Looking around Aura let herself breathe a bit in deep breaths. The fight had taken a toll on her but it had gone better then she had thought it might have. Aura keeled down next to the dead captive and muttered words to god's she was unsure of these days. Aura looked down grimly at the sign of her failure, she had been to slow to save this one as she had been time and time again. She had to learn a way to save everyone. SHe looked up to check if their were any more opponents to fight.
