She was tall, with long brown hair that curled slightly towards its end. Her lips were drawn in a smile that dimpled her angular face. It was strong, but not masculine. Her eyes were just strong. Light green, they seemed to sparkle whenever she grinned… which, judging from the slight smile lines on her face, was more often than not.
The woman cupped a hand over the receiver on the phone in her hands as he entered the room. Aurum was wearing a nice suit. Not Sunday’s best, but good to go for all your workplace needs.
"I’ll have to let you go," Viletta said gently into the receiver. "My five-o-clock just stepped in. Ally. Hey. It’s been a while." She continued, as they hung up.
Aurum nodded curtly. "We need to talk." Was she still calling him ‘Ally’, too? Like the word 'Alley'? Sheesh. He thought she’d have outgrown that by now. "And still 'Ally'? Really?" He shook his head with a light chuckle.
"Well, I still think ‘Alexander’ or ‘Ally’ sound less like names one would give a stripper," Viletta insisted with a frank smile.
Alexander. His middle-name. It had earned him that nickname when he was young.
"It’d seem more professional to me if we… kept calling me Aurum, yeah?"
"Pft, professional." Viletta waved off the comment with a hand. "You’ll always be Ally to me. Now, please. Have a seat. Let’s talk."

Aurum sat. He looked at her.
"So, this job." He asked. "It's with your lawfirm? This is your lawfirm?" That last part was an important bit of clarification.
"Yup."
"Wow."
"Yup." Viletta clicked her tongue. "Tiger, you hit it big."
"If I take the job."
"If you take the job," she agreed.
"So what would I be doing? And what would it pay?"
She told him.
They had another bout of dueling 'Wow's.
Viletta smirked. "And of course, I'd leave a lot of the work up to your discretion. I trust ya. I know ya won't backstab me like some people."
Had that been a hinting eyebrow arch? Hm.
"This all seems too good to be true."
"Uh huh..." Viletta stared at him expectantly.
"Who told you to call me again...?" He asked. "Ami, right?"
"Ami."
"And she told you I'm seeing someone, right?"
"Suspicious, suspicious." Viletta sighed. She massaged her temples. "Yes, Ally. I am aware that you are seeing someone."
"So you can't... this can't... go back to what it was before."
"That had actually been furthest from my mind. Genius." She held up her hand. Pointed to the engagement ring. Shook her head, ashamed for him. "Holmes would be proud."
"Oh."
"Yeah." She said.
"So, I don't really have anything to worry about."
"Unless you mess up and lose my firm a lot of money or customers," She commented casually. "Then, I'll kill ya."
Aurum chuckled. "It's a deal."
