The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Shin was standing in the doorway with a disapproving-type-face.
Uh oh.
“Chase, would you hurry along up to your mom with Michael?”
Something told her she was going to have to stay here for a few minutes. Something about the way Shin had his arms all crisscrossed and his face all not-smiley. Shin never had his face like that. He was always smiling. If he wasn't, she knew it had to be serious.
She fiddled around, resetting the jet so it was ready to go again for the next outing, doing all the plane-type things that pilots did while waiting for Shin to come over to her.
Something was up, she just wasn't sure what it was.
Michael’s eyes closed tightly the whole way there, scared of what was outside, of how fast they were going…everything was just so different outside of his room, and it was scary. He took calming breaths, and he made himself sure that things would be okay all through the way. He did manage to eat some food, but as the “space ship” landed, Michael still wasn’t looking very good. He was just tiny. He’d been able to function, but not well.
The boy was scared, there was no doubt, as the door was opened. He didn’t want to walk, he wasn’t used to walking to too many places, so the little boy got on the floor and slightly crawled across the floor to look out. Shin would probably see little Michael actually almost fall out of the ship to the ground. He was cowering in fear, and tried to hide in the shadow cast by the plane.
A hurt little boy, covered in bruises and scratches with the odd few colored bandages. He had wide eyes, and his clothes actually were almost falling off of his body. The little boy pulled at the glove on his hand. He was scared, and he could feel his power want to act up, but he took some breaths and calmed it down again. Even if his head was spinning, he had to keep it leveled. He just had to.

Chase followed Kat off of the plane, and spied a lank Asian guy waiting at the exit, arms laced across his chest, and looking rather peeved. The shapeshifter paused, seeing that his attention was on Katrina, uncertain of exactly who this guy was. Either way, Chase felt like he was going to be in trouble. Maybe... if he backed back into the plane, and waited it out, the Asian guy wouldn't have even noticed him? And then there was Mama... oh, Chase's mommy wasn't going to be happy at all.
>> “Chase, would you hurry along up to your mom with Michael?”
There was a hesitation, particularly under such an intense gaze from the unfamiliar older boy. But... Chase would rather take his chances with Gemma then with this random guy that he didn't know. He was just scary-looking.
"Come on, Michael," Chase said quietly, gesturing towards his friend and extending his hand, "We should go find my momma. And probably DocProf."
Because DocProf was good at fixing people. Michael looked like he could use some help from DocProf. He'd rather face the scary old man as opposed to his own mother, at this point in time.
When Chase saw that his friend wasn't moving very quickly-- well, rather, he wasn't moving at all-- Chase carefully helped the other boy to his feet, draping the sleeves of his oversized hoodie over his exposed hands. Chase d carried Michael earlier, he'd carry him again-- this time it wasn't as much of a chore as the last. Chase wriggled into Michael's backpack, and picked the older, smaller boy up carefully, his arms fastened just beneath Michaels' legs.
The eight-year-old ambled carefully down the ramp, casting Katrina a silent, sympathetic glance as he went. Chase then regarded the scary, older Asian boy with a marked shyness and suspicion, before slipping out of view.

>>“Chase, would you hurry along up to your mom with Michael?”
Two kids. She had two kids with her, too. She'd taken two kids with her on a joyride in a massive, massively-expensive (he assumed) stealth jet that somehow didn't make the national guard pounce on them like the Full Circle cat on a squeaky hedgehog.
He was honestly disappointed.
He waited for the two boys (one of whom was in bandages) to leave, and then Shin approached Katrina.
"I am honestly disappointed," He said. And he was.
Shin was disappointed. He was not very forthcoming, however, in the reason why he was disappointed. Katrina gulped, now certain that she had done something wrong, but just as certain that she wasn't going to go fishing for the answer by asking something dumb like 'Oh, why are you disappointed?'
The teenager in her was tempted to retort with something sarcastic, such as 'Why, did your sports team lose?' It wasn't really her style to talk back to authority figures, though, unless they were named Detective Cerventes, but that was because they had an understanding.
She wasn't left with much of anything to say, actually.
“I'm sorry,” sorry to hear that, that was. Not sorry for whatever it was she had done, at least not yet, because she didn't know what that was. She finished up the last few items on her post-flight checklist and turned to make sure the rations she had brought along were all packed up again so she could return the to the kitchen for the next snack emergency.

"You took the jet out for a joyride." He filled it in as how he saw it. "And took two kids along with you. And didn't ask."
This seemed awfully major. Usually, people were more aware when things like a colossal jet got taken out. Hadn't Kat been the one to help show him responsibility with it?
Didn't this usually require Sam or someone higher up's approval to do?
"Is that what is going on here?" Was that how it was?
He honestly hoped it wasn't, because he didn't like being disappointed in Kat.
