Kealey smiled slightly, and cast a look at Shin before speaking. His indifference towards Nicolette was...refreshing.

"If you'd have so easily disposed of Roland, Shin and I might not be where we are today." she said, "So while I appreciate the offer...it all worked out as it should be."

Venus mentioned a helicopter ride, and Kealey tilted her head to the side. The offer was nice, but it was awful cold outside and somehow she wondered if flying in a helicopter could stand up against flying on a pink tortilla chip. Still...getting to chat a bit more with Venus would be nice.

"What do you think?" she asked Shin. The evening's plans, after all, were not just up to her.

About Roland, Shin quietly agreed. Boy, people that looked like Abyss sure were a little scary. Even when they were purring like a kitty cat under a beautiful woman's attentions.

The topic moved from Full Circle to flying. Flying? Really? Shin mirrored Kealey's headtilt unconsciously... and in unison.

"What do you think?" Kealey asked him.

Shin tilted that head a bit more towards her direction, and said "Well, if Venus is offering, it'd be rude to refuse. I've never ridden in a helicopter before, I don't think. Just planes. Could be neat."

Neat was in no way 'bouncing up and down in excitement' neat, but it was a start.

“I didn’t say it would have been done easily, but I can’t argue with the results of having done nothing at all.”
He smiled approvingly as he looked at the couple once more. Yes, he had to admit that he liked these x people, they were fun and manners, and oh he yearned to interact with more well mannered people more often.

The foxy woman on his arm literally jumped up and down in excitement at the news of their plans for the night. Speaking of fun.

“Whenever you are ready the pilot will find a nearby landing and we can be off, I don’t mean to run off with you before we mingle and dance, of course. “

Nikoletta clung to his arm and dragged him toward the dance area it was obviously by his allowance but none the less it was where they were heading. “Shall we?” he took a moment to invite the pair along lest they lose their double before the helicopter ride even began.

Shin was right! Venus was offering them something special for New Years, no matter if they could fly sans helicopter. It would be rude to refuse, and it would be neat to try flying in a helicopter over the city. There would probably be fireworks anyway, and that would be scary on a shard platform.

"I think that's a yes!" the blond said, then grinned as Venus led his date away to the dance floor.

"I should have known that's who he'd show up with..." she said, shaking her head slowly as the couple walked away.

Now that they were alone, Kealey held tighter to Shin's arm and smiled up at him.

"Want to dance?" she asked happily. Dancing was something they really hadn't done much of, and honestly she looked forward to another chance.

"Do I ever."

It wasn't quite clear who led the way. The end result, though, was the happy couple's appearance on the dance floor.

She was so beautiful. It was only natural he wanted her in his arms. Gliding. So glide, they did. Back and forth. Oceans rose, cities fell, and they remained.

Gliding.

Helicopter flights probably couldn't compare.

While Nickoletta wasn't gliding she did often find herself defying gravity in Venus's capable arms. The pair energetically kept pace with the music and around the floor. Other couples made way for the pair afraid that their gracefulness might abruptly end with Venus scraping them off their shoe. Venus however was not one to interrupt another enjoyment of the finer things in life, like holding someone close and letting music carry them across a dance floor, Whispered nothings sent into each others ears and playful smiles sent inches away to the face across from them.

Poetry in motion. one dance became three and three became six. eventually the pair came off the floor and looked for the other couple, the double to their date.

There was....definitely something to be said about gliding.

There wasn't anything fancy about what was happening on the dance floor, but somehow that made it even better. New Year's didn't have to be special, it didn't have to be anything other than the celebration of a new beginning. And celebrate they did.

The music was lovely. Nothing that was awkward to dance to, and everything that was appropriate for gliding. Eventually though, Kealey's eyes fell on the unmistakable form of their host for the evening.

"We really need to do this more often." she said softly, with a smile.

"But I think Venus is ready to fly."

The Asian nodded at the blond's words. He agreed. Dancing was amazing.

It took an effort of will, but he managed to tear his eyes away from her to look at their friends for the evening. Flying, right. Wasn't what they'd just been doing?

"Okay. Helicopters. Right."

"Ready," He said to Venus and his date.

Venus read a text and placed his phone back in his pocket. He smiled at the pair across from them and nodded toward the stairs, the pilot assured him, that most buildings in New York had space for emergency landings. And that they wouldn’t be there long enough for any law enforcement to bother with them. He never minded someone in his employee that liked to bend the rules in his favor.

“it should be the perfect night for a flight, weather conditions are quite agreeable tonight.” He smiled politely, Then cut a put through the crowd for them all to make way much easier, something about his stature made people relieved when he merely said ‘excuse us’ quietly. Instead of glaring angrily. It seemed most people we satisfied to have survived the brush with his presence. He would never understand the way it must feel to be merely human. Or so he hoped. after they escaped the crowd Nikoletta guided them to a roof top exit. the helicopter was there and lowering the speed of the main propeller.

Through the crowd they wove, Kealey still intently focused and aware of Shin beside her. People were happy here, uninhibited, and as always when she was involved in parties and happy events, Kealey was floating around on a cloud of near euphoria. It was almost going to be sad to leave. Then again, they’d still be around Venus, and his emotions were always more than enough to deal with.

The path they took was familiar, if one of the less used routes through the public library and Kealey had to smile at the memories the trip brought back.

”Did you know?” she said quietly to Shin as they walked, ”That there are probably miles of stacks underneath this place?” Yes, they were moving upwards, but somehow the information seemed relevant.

”There’s probably places down there that nobody has been for years. I used to worry about getting lost when I got sent down there on errands…but it was also so quiet and secluded. It was a nice break sometimes.”

Quiet and secluded, huh? "Sounds amazing," He commented slyly. "And not just because of the books."

Maybe they needed to ditch Venus at some point in the night and check it out? Helicopters sure were cool, though. He could deal with this for the moment.

He followed Venus and his date onto the helicopter, giving Venus plenty of time to figure out how exactly he would fit, then helped Kealey up by the hand. He smiled at her as they lowered themselves into their seats and found their buckles.

"Are we going to need earmuffs?" He asked Venus, turning towards the red man. "I seem to remember something about propellers being louder than when we usually fly." He jerked a thumb towards him and Kealey.

Venus waited for the ok to lead them over from the pilot, he was sure that he could keep them all on the ground if need be, and with a couple of x men here as well they should be safe, that said he wasn't going to do anything pointless when caution could get the job done.

Venus nodded and held out a box of of head phones, they would be able to speak into the tiny microphones sticking out of the head phones and still be able to hear each other while still being able to hear. He slid a pair on Nikoletta head and then his own after Shin and Kealey had grabbed theirs.

He then smirked and wondered something. "I would have suggested a Glass tour if I had thought to meet you guys hear" He looked over shin for a moment and turned his eyes away. and then thought about Shin being Sooooooo sexy, he was curious to see how this emotion would effect Kealey. He promised not to influence her when they first met so long ago, but surely it wouldn't hurt to test the theory against someone she legitimately loved. He then ceased and observed to see if it would effect her demeanor, perhaps just make her blush.

His hand reached over next to Nikoletta's and consumed her hand in his. in moments the helicopter would lift into the sky and tote them about the city for a view, at least he had never seen.

”Could you hold up four people?” Kealey asked once the headphones were on and the mics in place. Venus’ idea had been interesting, and something the blond had never really thought about before. Granted, Venus was huge, but Shin was also very good at what he did, she thought with a smile looking over at him.

Good at what he did…and very handsome tonight. Kealey wondered why she hadn’t spent more time fawning. It wasn’t something she often did, because she was no good at it, but sometimes a girl just had to let her guy know that he wore a suit well.

”Did I mention yet that you sure do clean up nice?” she said, forgetting momentarily that there were other people on the mic channel.

”Because you really do.”

"Nope," Shin answered into the headphone microphone. "It's a bit too much weight for me." Not that he was calling anyone fat.

Kealey was calling him something, though.

It was a shame there were no private channels with which to respond to that remark. He settled for holding her hand.

He also planted a kiss on Kealey's cheek.

Venus smiled lightly to himself and realized how easy it was to shift Kealey's emotions, but in the same instant he also felt guilty for playing with her power, she wasn't a toy and deserved more respect than the manipulation he had just preformed, if harmless.

Nikoletta seemed to be excited by the view and was giggling, more importantly no one here seemed to be subject to motion sickness. Helicopters sometimes brought it out in its passengers. He wondered if the pilot was transferring his steady calm to KQ and KQ to the rest of them... hmm.

He smiled at his friends and was genuinely pleased that he could spend his new years like this, It boded well for the future. "Have you two been on any adventures lately? I have been trying to stay out of trouble my self."
