His hands. They caught her hands. And pressed them back against the wall as he pressed her into a kiss. "Until the moment was right, I said." Heck. He couldn't actually remember what he'd said. But now was kind of a moment.
"Now turn around."

Smoldering is the slow, low-tempterature flameless form of combustion sustained by the heat evolved when oxygen directly attacks the surface of a condensed-phase fuel.
Right now, Aurum was more like the sun.
Was that what he had said? The right moment? Riley didn’t care, not one tiny bit. Maybe this was one of those things where what had happened or been said before didn’t matter, because this was the moment. She hoped it was. Yeah, they were in an elevator, but somehow that little detail didn’t matter.
He told her to turn around and Riley grinned, then stood on her toes to kiss him again before she complied.
This may not have been what they’d originally had in mind, but it was what they had, and it was good. Real good.

And so they faded to that little spot on the wall. And blurred. And shifted. And...
Eventually, the elevator decided to move again. It interrupted nothing. It had certainly taken its time deciding what to do.
Aurum pulled his red sweater back on over his white shirt. He straightened his collar as the elevator rose. He couldn't quite contain the pleased look on his face. He looked like a guy who'd gotten exactly what he had wanted.
"That was..." Words failed him to describe exactly what that was. So, he gave up. He turned back to Riley. "So, what movie did you want to cuddle to?" He grinned.

There was something decadent about having clothes to straighten at this point, that had Riley mirroring the pleased look on Aurum’s face as she got her skirt and sweater back into functional order. At some point the elevator had started moving again, and they’d made it to the proper floor. Luckily, nobody had called the elevator to another floor though, and there’d been no further interruptions.
The doors opened as Aurum spoke, and Riley chuckled and grinned back.
”I think I might just renege on what I said earlier and let you pick.”
”I’ve got a lot to choose from.”
Thinking. Was still difficult.
