MRO is an intermediate to advanced writing level original character, original plot X-Men RPG. We've been open and active since October of 2005. To make up for the long delay in his first appearance, Dr. Reginald Black will be hosting a public lecture at sometime in the near future, shortly after which the audience will be taken hostage for his amusement. A competition, hopefully violent, will then be held for the key to the lecture hall doors. Philosophical debate during this process is suggested for comedic effect, but purely optional. All wishing to attend should RSVP to the address on the invitation (i.e. this thread).

The lecture is to be on nihilist philosophy, specifically transcending human limitations by becoming one's own ultimate moral authority. I've been reliably informed that certain mutants around town have been doing just that lately, so it should be particularly appropriate. The lecture is open to all and any library or center of learning might have been informed about it, so all that is really required to attend is a character who has some interest in the topic. The point of taking the audience hostage, other than for "teh lulz" as the young ones put it, is to see if there is anyone confident enough in his or her morality to challenge the good doctor.
Hopefully that clears it up a little. Also, glad to have you aboard, Dorian. Anyone else still interested?
Sounds like something Lumen might attend out of curiosity. Let us know when you start the thread, I'll read a bit and see if it makes sense for her to join and if it does I'll pop in!
