The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Star was in pretty bad shape. Tricity sighed and gave her a weak smile, but it faded quickly when voices began to rise again. "All right, that's enough, everyone..." Tricity was tired of the bickering. From all the back and forth, it seemed they would be getting transported somewhere else for God knows what. It was to disheartening to think of all the possibilities. Tricity looked at their surroundings and at the different mutants inside the cell with her, assessing their powers.
"It doesn't matter who's wrong or right now. We all need to stick together and find a way out of this. Neena is right, so cut the crap." She braced herself against the wall and stood up. There were a few stragglers here who she did not know. "I'm thinking our best chance is when we are being transported out of here." Tricity looked around at the unknowns. She didn't have to ask her residents this question. "So... You in or what?"

Michael put a supportive arm around Raina. He had known about her and the cop, well not in quite the detail she had gone into, but he knew that they were an item. The man’s anti-mutant stance was also known to him. But the truth was it was neither of their faults. The mansion was too high profile, sooner or later it would have been targeted.
He dropped the argument with the jackass, but he still didn’t trust the guy. The dude had trouble written all over them, and if he tried anything stupid Michael would make sure that none of them got caught up in it. He wants to play hero, fine, but when the humans took him down in the camps, which unless he had some serious outside help that could take out the robots they would, Michael was not going to jump in. he would stand back and make sure everyone else did the same. The git wasn’t worth dying over.

ooc: Sorry i aint have a chance to post been out at ranges past few weeks.
"Well don't you all sound like the worlds perfect support group." Jason chuckled well picking his self off the ground. "Ah how i long to forget this damn taste in my mouth." Jason spatted as he ran his tongue over his lips tasting that horrible metallic taste swarming around in his mouth.
Jason looked around the room seeing very few famular faces and a whole lot of strangers he really aint wish to see. "Seems like the only time i ever get this taste is when one of you damn Fight the Cause people are around." he laughed as felt weak and slouched up against the wall. "I swear, its always somebody in life trying to be Mr. Hero. Look at you over there all in the wall trying to pick up the girl that got used and abused. Ha! Come on now missy, you really thought this guy was into you for you huh? Never once thought that he may want something else...hmm or did he get that to?" Jason said sliding down the wall till he was in a position that was more comfortable on his ribs making it a bit easier to breath.
"You know, I left the mansion when i realized the people wasn't nothing but trouble. Yeah i no you fight for justice and the American way of life. No wait that somebody else. But don't yall see thats what there scared of. Not you, cause you got your ability or you cause you can do whatever it is that you can do." Pointing over at someone sitting in the corner. "But because of all you that live in the same house. There scared of you as a whole. Now if you would have been like me and just went and tried to live a normal life. Then i think we would all be fine." Jason said as his metallic lip turned to bright red blood. "Ah thats the taste i was lookin for." he said with a smile.

ooc: ooh way to go! Nice post Gore. Thanks for going along with Raina's theory, allows for some character development on my part
ic:
The words stung- though Raina had said them herself, it was hard hearing the stranger say it out loud. She slumped into Micheal. He was right though, he may not be as kind as the others- but he was right about it all. It was easier for Raina when she was alone... she really only came to the mansion to learn to cope with her powers and if anything she felt more like a mutant now than ever before. Granted, she enjoyed the friendships she made... but was it really all worth it? All this pain and suffering and chaos... and Rupert.... He was right, what would make her think Rupert would ever accept her...
Well this is a funarefic day. The wolf girl thought sarcastically to herself as they where escorted out of the van rather roughly.
Emerald felt Ruby's grip on her hand tightened a bit, almost like a vice grip. Emerald gave her sister a reassuring squeeze before they where forced to walk into the building.
The wolf girl was still pretty banged up from the fight and knew she wasn't exactly at the top of her game. If anyone tried to take Ruby away from her right now, she didn't know how long she would be able to keep them from doing so.
The sisters made it through most of the human registering them, not slowing down once all the way up until the blood tests. The man that was doing it grabbed Ruby's hand Roughly causing her to yelp in pain, the fox girl started to tremble when she saw the needle that was going to be used letting out terrified whimpers.
Emerald felt herself cower back lightly from the needle, but her protectiveness over Ruby instantly override that fear. She grabbed the mans hand, squeezing it tightly.
"Be nice to my Baby sister, Jack ass!" Emerald snarled, looking into the registors horrified eyes as he saw her Lupine canines gleaming in the lighting of the room.
WHUMP!
A nightstick slammed into the wolf girls slashed up Ribs. Emerald let out a gasp of Pain, nearly collapsing, before Ruby could grab her the guard that hit her grabbed her by the back of the neck.
"Hey mutie, don't be threatening the good doctor, he is just doing his job." The Black haired guard sneered at the wolf girl. His silverish eyes glinted when he saw the Doctor taking this chance to extract the blood with the needle, filling the tube up with the fox girls blood from her shoulder.
Ruby felt tears well into her eyes as this rather painful process began. She refused to cry though because that would make Emmy do hurt the doctor again and if she did that they would likely be separated.
When Ruby's blood sample was taken then it was Emerald's turn, after the painful process, which made Emerald cringe the wolf girl looked over at the Doctor before slamming her fist in his face. Once again the nigh stick colliding with her body but this time it was electrically charged, hitting the same burnt circular spot as the sticks before did. The only difference was that this nightstick was allot bigger at least four inches wide.
Emerald let out a wounded howl, this time being caught by her sister before she collapsed. Emerald cursed silently when the painful sensation retching through her body stopped, smelling the burnt flesh smell that now wafted into the air.
"Serves you right, Mutie freak." The silver eyes guard boasted.
A small growl escaped Ruby's throat as she glared at the guard a glare that could freeze the sun. The man back up a bit before going off to do his own business. With Guard escort Ruby and Emerald went over to the bathroom, to treat Emerald's wound.
As the Fox girl ran cold water over her sisters wound, trying to get the redness to go away, she noticed her older sister smiling at her. She was a bit confused because it was a mix between the 'I just ate a deer smile' and a 'I hope no one finds out about this or I'm dead.' smile.
Finally Ruby asked, "What are you smiling about Emmy? I know it can't be this wound. Oh no I'm not in trouble am I?" Ruby panicked
Emerald rolled her eyes at her younger sibling. "Nope, I am proud of you. That was the best growl I have heard in a while, better than mine a few minutes ago. Where did you learn to growl like that?"
Ruby smirked, "Why only from the best half animal growler in the world....hmm what was her name again, Diamond, Pyrite, Amber," Ruby continued on like this for a few minute before Emerald looked as if she was going to break. She was giving the puppy dog hurt eyes and everything. "You Silly!"
"Really? I must be a very good teacher then." Emerald stated in a 'guru' tone.
"Of course Master Emerald of course." Ruby giggled
"Yes young padawan you two will learn the ways of the mutant in time." Emerald smiled, laughing lightly.
It was strange how the girls managed to pick out the things that had made them laugh, even in the grimmest of situations such as this. But this moment of girlish laughter didn't last long, soon the guard came over to the Lupin sisters and dragged them out of the bathroom.
They where then escorted into the cell with the other mutants from the X men, Ruby still slightly supporting her sister due to the weakened state she was in.
"Wow....Yall look like hell." The bruised and Beaten wolf girl stated with an impish smirk.
In truth the wolf girl didn't look much better. With her right upper arm being burnt second degreely, Large bruises on the backs of her legs, gash mark on her cheek from the claws of the stalker, Burned welts across her arms from the other electric nightstick ks and the dried blood encrusted on the side of her head from when she was knocked out she looked like death warmed over.
"Says the girl who has second degree burns and was almost shot in the face by a cop," the fox girl replied coyly, twitching her ears slightly.
The Fox girl was wearing ratty looking clothes that she had worn the day they had escaped the mansion. She had small cuts, bruises all over her arms, a welt from where they put the needle in, a bruise on her stomach from when she was kicked a few nights before and a scratch on her left fox ear. Physically she wasn't hurt as bad as her older sister but emotionally she was doing a bit worst.
Emerald sighed, noticing the forlorn looks on everyones faces. "You know at least we aren't dead." Emerald supplied helpfully, "Though we all look like the living dead."

Michael brightened for an instant when he saw Emerald, but soon darkened when he registered that she too had been captured. Setting down Deathstar next to Tricity he immediately went to the sisters and hugged them both. “I’m really sorry to see you here,” he said, “I thought that you’d managed to escape.”
Releasing the pair he stood back and gave them a weak smile. “Well at least your back with friends again,” he said, looking for some sort of silver lining, and coming up mostly empty, “Care to fill me in on what happened, how you got here?” And how you got all those injuries he added silently.

Ted looked up as another pair of mutants entered their little Glee Club. At least these two aren't unconscious... wait a minute... I know those two! And apprently, Shield over there knows them better. He let Michael go talk to them, as Ted didn't really know the pair of them, having only met them once. And then it was only briefly. And michael had been there too. Huh.
Ted took a look around to see how many of them were here. Himself, Tricity, Michael, Wolf-girl, Fox-girl, Neena, Nika, Naomi, Raina, dang, how did this happen. He decided to speak his thoughts to the room, "Do you guys realise how many mansion residents there are here? How did this happen? We're smarter than this."
(OOC: Couldn't resist putting in another Star Wars line )
Emerald smiled at Michael, her tail wagging back and forth. "Well you see, we have been on the run for two days so you guys where in this place for two days apparantly. But bassicaly while hiding in the forest a bunch of swat guys came, Ruby and I took down thirty of them then more came, I went nuts, almsot got shot, SHocked with shocky sticks and Ruby outsmarted Rupert and guessed right on the coin toss and got us both to stay together.
Then we where sent here I got mad when they took Ruby's blood I got burned cause I nearly broke the doctors arm and because punched him in the face cause he made Ruby cry. Then Ruby went all growling warrior on me and scared of the guard that was harrasing us before we where sent here." Emerald summed up helpfully.
Ruby smiled a bit with a blush. "I wasnt that great." Ruby smiled.
"Yea you were....you kicked major tail today Ruby, Im very proud of you." Emerald smiled a bit, giving the fox girl a hair ruffle.
Ruby smiled hopefully before looking around. "I wish we could have kicked more tail, enough to get us all out of here." Ruby sighed, ears flat.
After passing out for another few minutes Nika's ears twitched as she thought she heard another familiar voice. For that matter there was a familiar scent as well. Two of them in fact.
Nika lifted her head up from her make-shift pillow to look. Sure enough she spotted Emerald and Ruby. She smiled both inwardly and on her face.
"Emerlad! Ruby!" she spoke but there was an obvious strain in her voice as she still hurt badly.

Michael listened intently to Emerald’s tale, and couldn’t help but smile when she spoke of Ruby’s heroics. The mention of attacking the doctor made him frown briefly, before listening again. While he knew that Emerald was only doing it to try and protect Ruby, all she had managed to do was make things worse. There are times when to protect people you have to let some bad stuff happen to stop even worse things happening.
“Way to go Ruby,” he surmised at the end. He’d wait until they had some privacy before voicing his opinion about beating the doctor to Emerald. “You know since meeting you all you seem to have done is kick some serious tail,” he said with a smile. That was mostly true, as she’d taken out Bloodfang and now a big chunk of SWAT guys. Pity it hadn’t worked so well on the damn robots.

Neena sighed as the confrontations continued, albeit considerably tamed, and set about finishing what she'd been doing -- checking on everyone's health status. She moved over to check on Deathstar. The girl looked to be hurting badly. Nika's voice gave away her pain, but there wasn't much else Neena could do for her at this point. She made rounds, asking quietly if anyone else was hurt, and how, doing what she could and moving on. Once she was content that everyone was cared for as well as could be for the moment, she sat on the ground next to Nika.
Her mind shut out the conversations as it wandered off on different tangents.
Foremost in her mind was the camps. She was not a reader, but history was a subject that she definitely spent much time on, though often for the wrong reasons. They tended to run along the lines of hidden catacombs, museum designs and their engineers' histories, casino vault constructions and their owners credit histories, and other such strange historical 'tidbits'. Still, other history made its way into her brain in massive amounts, and managed to remain stuck there. More often than not, it simply filed itself away in her 'useless but unusual' file and gathered cobwebs. But every once and a while something would jar the file loose, dust it off and pull out random bits of interest. In this particular case, and no surprise why, the Holocaust became the 'random bit of interest' of the day.
Almost every high school in the Americas and Europe, and most of the other continents, the Holocaust was part of normal class corriculum. The majority of people knew the basics of the concentration camps, and their workings, and the reasonings behind them. But to most it was simply words on a page. Some say, "Oh how awful! How could anyone do anything like that?" or "Hitler was a monster. Only a monster could think of something so horrible!" Sad truth: Hitler wasn't the first, nor the last to come up with such 'death camps', merely the one most famous for them.
On top of that, what was printed on paper wasn't always accurate, nor did it convey the actual experience. Very few realized exactly what kind of sadistic things went on behind the stone gates: tortures, burnings, rapes, all of them were on the tame side of the spectrum. And this was simply because of race, or religion. Humans against humans. This Registration Act was different, but the same.
Neena looked around at those gathered with expressionless eyes. Most of them were mere kids. Mutants, yes. But when it came to emotions, humans and mutants were essentially the same; they hurt, they cried, they laughed, they grew angry. There were some with mental issues, some with emotional issues. The only difference was a microscopic bit of building material in each cell. Would that microscopic 'bit' help these kids survive long enough for history to repeat itself, yet again? If so, how would it affect them?
Neena glanced at Shrapnel and the new guy. Would the others become bitter and hateful as well toward humans? Her gaze switched to Ted and Shield. Did they truly believe what they said? She moved to Raina. She'd taken so much already. Was she close to breaking, or had this simply 'proven her metal', so to speak? She looked down at Nika, who'd already been through hell numerous times over. How many times was 'too many'? And what about herself. True, she felt no fear, but she did feel anger and pain. If what she had a good idea would happen actually happened, would she retain her general unconcern with life, or would she snap? The door opened and Emerald and Ruby were added to their merry little group. Neena sighed. Being related to someone, being pregnant, or simply known to be precious to someone else in the camp was perhaps the worst curse in this situation, even moreso than being hard-headed or hot-tempered. Neena had no doubt that the sisters were, most likely, in for a nightmare like no other.
People do strange things in stressful situations. However, as stress was also not a part of Neena's mental makeup, she had nothing to blame for what she did next. She fiddled with her hand cuffs until she had a bit of a grip on the fastener. Then she began scratching on the wall. It wasn't long before she was contentedly playing a game of tic-tac-toe with herself.
Do you realize how hard it is to beat yourself, when you know exactly what your next move will be?

Jason just sat around the room and watched. The children in the room look devastated. But who was to blame. They never asked to be this way. But who in here did... Jason looked in Awe at each face. Studying the look in their eye, the way there hands shacked from being cold and scared just as the door open Jason let out a faint laugh which turned to a bit of pain. Two more inmates joined them in there wonderful new home. Both looking a bit roughed up but able to carry there own unlike a few others sitting here soaking in there own sorrow for each other.
Everybody seemed to be so full of cheer as these two walked in the room Jason thought. As more and more people welcomed the newcomers with open arms Jason saw Michael get up and greet them to there new found fate. He slowly dragged him self up and carried his own limp body and dropped next to the young girl sitting in the corner still a hurt from being betrayed.
"Sure is funny how these people seem to be he happy someone else is trapped like them, I mean if i was someone's friend i would be more pissed that there where here then having someone else to talk to." Jason said trying to keep the conversation between the two of them. "Speaking of friends looks to me like this Michael guy left you pretty quick when a new piece of meat walks in to the room." He said pointing over to the crowd. "Now don't say anything to soon but its kinda funny don't you think how someone seems to be all there for you. Then when there tired of you they just some to walk away. No questions asked. Here you are sitting her sad, hurt and good ol' Michael is here to play your knight in shinning armor. Then just when you think someone cares that arms no longer around your shoulder but in the presence of another." He said pulling him self up. "Tell you what if you wanna survive and keep from feeling that kind of pain anymore turn that heart of yours in to stone. And see all these people that you think care about you, just like that guy you thought cared about realize there just one more person thats has the chance and when best suits them is gonna do it to save there own ass..." Jason said speaking a little louder then he was earlier. With a quick sweep of the room he looked to see who was listening and who wasn't and just took him self back in to the dark shaded corner he rested in before getting up.
Ted's sensitive ears picked up every word. He glared at the guy who was speaking to Raina. And something snapped. "What the hell was that!? Are you just trying to make things worse!? What is your problem!" Ted aimed a whack at the guy's jaw. Without holding back too much on his strength. "We're here trying to keep our hopes up, and you're just trying to f*** everything over! Michael leaves for two seconds to speak to someone, and you're there trying to convince Raina to turn her heart to stone! What is wrong with you, you messed up freak!" Ted had gone past caring, he was sick of people just making things worse for everyone else.
(OOC: thought I'd throw in some violence, cause most everyone else that's snapped emotionally have generally gone into despair. Wrath is so much more fun!)

Raina's ears perked up when she heard Emerald mention Rupert's name, though she tried to hide it. She knew there was a story between them... she wanted to know what it was since she saw the photo of wolfy Emerald at Rupert's. She had finally mused up enough courage to brave the pain in her throat (and heart) and ask, when Ted sent Gore flying with a punch....
