The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It had been a long time since Sara had stepped into New York city. Let alone the mansion. She had always traveled, but she'd never come back to the same place. Nor had she spent as much time in one area as she had spent in New York. Maybe that is why this felt so... So Awkward.
The sky was clear so that you could count the stars and the air was damp. The time had to be around 2 am. Roxy's tail had started to sway back and forth slowly picking up speed as Sara and the dog stepped onto the mansion grounds. Roxy kept looking up at Sara trying to figure out what it was that they were going to be. Sara on the other hand walked onto the grounds like she owned the place. Like she had never left and no one would have noticed. If it wasn't for the people here, this place would be just a home. One of many. Not the home Sara thought about most.
Sara stopped in the middle of the grass and pulled her chin back to breath in the old damp air. It felt good to visit.
The figure moved below she was furry and had a tail like his only different. She had blond hair atop her head and then he realized who it was. A toothy grin revealed elongated canines and mismatched color eyes blinked and focused in the moonlight. It was late but he figured that was a good excuse to get outside and go for a fly, it wasn’t like he was going to wake up for school in the morning anyways so why not stay up late or early in this case?
Opening his wings and falling off the roof of the mansion Carrick quietly and swiftly glided down to the grounds trying his best to sneak up on the familiar face that seemed to be busy smelling the air. Odds are she would notice him in a second if she hadn’t yet and her dog might have picked up on him already.
He had changed since she had last seen him, his teeth longer along with his wings and tail. He was a few inches taller and a few times stronger than he was when she last chased him down and hitchhiked a ride to this place that he now called his home. Carrick grinned and reached out his arms open wide to embrace Sara in a hug if he could connect, ”Sara!” Carrick shouted out happily glad to see a familiar feline face.
Normally Sara would have been the one to notice Carrick first, but she was beginning to zone out when he began his flight. Lost in just the sheer fact that she was here. Instead it was Roxy who turned to see the approaching Carrick. Tail wagging, Roxy barked at him, looked up at Sara like 'Hey hey what's wrong with you someone is there!' then turned to trot out towards where Carrick was flying from. When Carrick passed over her, she pivotted on her doggy heals running after him. Though too slow to catch up.
It was about then that Sara realized that she was getting a visitor. A visitor whom she didn't recongize at first. Even his voice was different as he came down to hug her, shouting her name. She let the hug connect but she was stunned with the action. Her arms were pressed to her sides at first as she lost her balance backwards. He smelled like cat and bird... "Carrick?" Sara pulled away holding his shoulders at arms length to get a more propper look at him. This almost seemed to be a different person from the scrawning kid that she had thought that she was rescuing from the circus.
The corners of Sara's lips twitched up into a closed mouth smile. "Sometimes I forget howmuch people can change in time that I have lost." Roxy had finally cought up to Carrick and stood on her hind legs for an instant to touch her nose to the boys arm before trotting off in a circle around the two of them. Almost like she was silently scolding Carrick for dropping in unannounced. "How have you been?" Sara asked.
His tail flicked in the dogs direction for attempting to ruin his surprise attack, failed but still enough to give Carrick a minor annoyance. Moving his attention back on to Sara Carrick gave her a toothy grin revealing his now elongated canines. The furry hands wrapped around his arms and push him back slightly she was looking at him and despite the darkened grounds the night sky still illuminated the grounds for her to see something he knew she could do better than most. If he could have recognized her features in the darkened sky it would have been simple for her to see him.
It had indeed been some time since Carrick had last seen Sara, not exactly recalling their last conversation Carrick realized that Sara wasn’t as tall as she used to be, it must have been due to the fact that he had been growing the last few months along with other changes to his body. ”Yes?” Carrick asked his voice mocking her surprise, ”How many other winged tailed kids due you know that would be up this early in the morning?” he paused, ”Couldn’t recognize the accent?” Carrick asked mockingly.
His attention was drawn away from Sara as her dog stood on hind legs and brushed it’s nose on his arm one of the ones that Sara had been holding still. He smirked and flashed his tail on the underside of the dogs belly to give it a small tickle before looking back to Sara, ”Been good, been growing some!” Carrick said, as he stood upright as his mismatched colored eyes fixed on the dog that was circling them,
”Been trying to stay busy though this place has been due from time to time. Always something that can be found to do.” Carrick said as he looked back to Sara again, ”Where did you go?” Carrick asked his tone asking for an explanation as to why she had left without him being notified or invited.
"Well at least I had an excuse." Sara mocked back at Carrick as took her hands from his arms, then moved her right hand to the top of his head, measuring his height now. Then her hand moved to the side and she guestimated the height that he had been last that she had seen him. Dropping her finger tips to that level. "Why last time I saw you, you were this big you young whipper snapper." She imitated an old granny voice as she spoke. The imitation sounding a little foreign as it slurred out between her.longer fangs.
Roxy trotted back and forth for a while. She had noticed Carrick's tail and was starting to try to stalk it when her paw landed on a... Huhh. what was that long slender textured thingy in the ground? The German Shepard's head fell suddenly so that her attention was at her feet as she investigated something that felt completely different than grass. Why. It was a STICK!
Roxy spun around scooped up the stick happily and then continued parading around her old stomping ground. Sara wasn't completely fluent in Dog language, but she was pretty sure that Roxy was saying. <'I haz a Stick. You know that you only wish that you had found it first.'>
Roxy then promptly sat right between Sara and Carrick. Stick in mouth staring up at either of them with a big doggy grin on her face.
Mean while Sara shrugged to Carrick's question. "At the time, I felt like it was time for me to move again. Until I came to New York, I had never spent more than one month in the same place." Could you blame Sara. She could always blame the hole wondering stray cat thing. "Although I will admit that the last few months, I have been around the state." Sara had been making investments and getting the word out around her old contacts about her new storage business.
