The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Miguel cursed as Skoliro flicked him and spun around, floating himself off of the branch to face him. He raised an eyebrow when he noticed his wings, and then rolled his eyes. "One with feathered wings and the other with wings like a bat... How cliche." He smiled for a moment, figuring he'd make sure to rub it in Eaen's face at a later point and time that he used the word "cliche" correctly.
But at that moment it was time to fight. He spun his body around clockwise, planning on hitting Skoliro with the back of his right foot, but right as his face was making the rotation it, he saw Talon coming at him at full speed. He cursed again, and decided to dodge the attack, but it was done quite sloppily, due to the fact that he was still midswing with his leg. He dropped down and ended up snagging his leg on the branch he was sitting on earlier, and winced as it left a large scratch running vertically down his right leg.
Miguel floated slowly away from the other two mutants backwards, unknowingly heading towards Glare. He winced as he tried to ignore the pain in his leg and arm, but reaching out his hands and "grabbing" hold of Talon's wings. He began to pull trying to cause any sort of damage he could, but he wasn't focusing very well, he was too annoyed to concentrate.
((ooc: Well I'm just letting Miguel get all sorts of hurt huh? ^__^ S'all good, I dunt mind. haha, I'd be upset if it was Eaen, but meh, it isn't so no worries.))
Whilst flying past Miguel Darius judge the distance to him wrong and ended up getting to close Miguel who took the opportunity and grabbed Darius's wing which drove him down towards the ground. He landed badly and tore a hole in his jeans which made a graze on his knee. Darius could see that Miguel just hovering above him after throwing him down. Darius leapt back up onto his feet "Nice trick Mig" he shouted throwing a kick in Miguels direction spinning to face him.
Skoliro pointed and laughed when Miguel broke his leg. Why, he wasn't sure himself, but why not? He called to the animals of the forest with his mind, Come, surround the one who calls himself Miguel, the floating one. And they did, creating a unbreakable moving mass around him, leaving a small hole where Skoliro himself could enter. With a quick flap of his wings he entered the rotating mass, which closed as soon as he was through, making it pitch black inside. He could see perfectly, even better then outside.
To Darius's amazment before his kick could land it was blocked off by a huge dome of what seemed to be bats. He stopped and thought to himself about how there was no way this could have been a natural occurance but before he could ponder futher he saw the bat mutant Skoliro glide past and enter the dome. He had no doubt that Skoliro was the cause of this so Darius just stood backwards as the dome rotated whilst he thought of the battle inside.

Rayne stretched until she heard two pops!! from her spine, and relaxed. She walked to the edge of the pool, and looked around. There was a black-haired man sitting nearby, but he looked a bit preoccupied, so she merely waved at him. She stretched once more, adjusting her swimsuit then dove effortlessly into the clear water. She did several laps around the pool, a few underwater flips, timed how long she could hold her breath; basically she simply goofed around. After about half an hour of swimming around on her own, she grew bored. She pulled herself up onto the edge of the pool. Water ran down her body in little rivulets, turning her swimsuit a deep violet. She went to a chair and donned a pair of jean shorts and sandals. Then she walked back to the water’s edge. She smiled slightly, and closed her eyes. Within moments her blond hair shimmered, turning an odd purple-gray. She opened her eyes, now the same color as her hair.
Iris tilted her head, and held out her hand. A stream of water, enough to fill a hot tub, leapt into the air and hovered there, ignoring gravity completely, like a formless bubble. She reached out and took a tiny glob, the size of a soccer ball, and begin manipulating it into different shapes. She waved again at the black haired man, and then headed into the surrounding trees with her toy, the larger glob following behind as if it were on a leash.
In among the trees, Iris began to hum as she played, a calm smile tugging at her lips. She passed an area where some vegetation had been uprooted, leaving large clumps of dirt. She took her water soccer ball and tossed it onto the ground, creating a mini mud puddle. Since it now was semi-liquid, she was able to manipulate it as she was the water. She held her hands out, and the glob of ugly brown hovered above them obediently. She made motions with her fingers, drawing a picture in the air, and the mud became her ‘painting’. Sure it took a bit more willpower, but she was having fun.
The sounds of people yelling at each other reached her ears from nearby. Curious, she followed the sounds, and came upon an unusual sight. A young man hovered in the air, held aloft by a pair of human-sized bird wings. Above him was.....well....it kind of looked like a black cloud. But it was moving around......like it was alive.
A yawned escaped Iris’ throat. She wasn’t tired at all, but yawns seemed to happen a lot when she was using her liquid control. She glanced about and, spying a large tree, climbed up into it to watch the scene. She’d almost forgotten the huge ball of water that was following her around like a puppy. Something in the back of her mind told her that this was a battle, and that staying around might get her attacked.
IC: Kaz crouched on a roof overlooking the landscape. His black jumpsuit giving him a bit of cover against the backdrop of the barracks. He could hear the sounds of a skirmish off in the distance as well as a dust cloud of some sort that dissipated quickly. On his back was a broadsword, a katana, and a scimitar strapped into custom straps. He had a feeling he'd need an arsenal today. Around his waist was a whip of sorts, the end ended in a wicked, slender, smokey black blade, while along the length of it ran small razors, barely noticable to the eye; the hilt also had many blades on it, only he could wield it effectively without being sliced by them. Apon his hands he wore steel plate gauntlets that covered the back of his hand and the tops of his fingers so he could still grip his swords without hinderance, each gauntlet had two fairly large forward curving blades on each. Strapped to each thigh were pouches holding throwing knives of different shapes, sizes, and for different purposes, some even carried a surprise with them. Two slightly curved daggers were tucked into each boot.
He looked to his left towards a bathhouse and pool. Taking a closer look he could make out the shape of a man sitting on a chair. <Hmm...I think it's time for some fun.> Reaching into one of his thigh pouches he pulled out a larger curved throwing knife. Taking a moment to judge the distance, he threw the blade off in a wide ark and at an angel into the sky. Spinning end over end it reached it's peak of flight and began its decent from behind the man. It continued downward while arking until it imbeded itself into the concrete just to the right of the man's foot and exploided in a brilliant fireball. Chunks of concrete and shrapnal flew from the crator where the blade had landed. Kaz watched with a smirk as the exploison occured.

Zeke had expected some action by now. He was sitting in this chair just waiting, and listening. If there were any threat nearby, Zeke would be the one to hear it. Yes, he wouldn't allow himself to be ambushed or outsmarted, and he wouldn't let himself make the first attack. He would begin by defending himself.
A girl walked nearby him and waved, then took a swim. Probably a mutant... but who cared. She wasn't making an violent moves toward him, and he wouldn't attack her for no reason. So he let her swim in the pool and then thoughtfully watched as she made her way off to the combat just off in the distance.
As he pondered all of this, he heard a rustle slightly to his right and behind him. Then he heard something whipping through the air. He looked up just in time to see an object hurling towards where he was sitting. He didn't have very long to react, but it was long enough. Concetrating quickly, he threw himself from the lawn chair and towards the pool. Actually... he literally dove into the pool, though that probably wasn't his original intent. No matter, his clothes would dry soon enough in this hot sun.
More importantly, the object slammed into the ground where he had just been sitting. While Zeke was in midair of his dive, the object exploded sending shrapnel everywhere. A shard of concrete slammed Zeke right hand hard as he dove, and when he surface two seconds later, he saw that he hand was bleeding from the impact, and a shooting pain was rushing up his right arm.
No more Mr. Niceguy....
Zeke used the fused sulfur to levitate out of the water and far up into the sky. At about 200 feet, he could see the little creature below that had throw the knife. It was a mutant for sure, though his actual mutation couldn't readily be seen. He had hundreds of weapons on him it seemed from Ezekiel's vantage point.
Whatever, Zeke would end this. Throwing his uninjured hand towards the water, he shot a large ammount of sulfur, which slammed into the pool. Zeke then lifted his hand slightly, and the two components mixed and became a huge sulfuric cloud that hovered between Zeke and the ground. Zeke rotated the cloud slightly to a thirty-degree angle.
Zeke just waited now. If the mutant with the knives glanced up in the sky to find Zeke, he would stare directly into the cloud (and he may simply looked just because he was astounded and curious of the display of power), and if he glanced at the cloud, he would be temporarily blinded by the glare which would bounce off of it.

Kaz saw the man jump into the water slightly dissapointed. Sighing, "Oh well. At least he'll be some sport." He saw the blood dripping from the man's hand as he rose into the air. Quirking an eyebrow as the man droped something into the water. <Time to move.> Kaz jumped off of the building and dissapeared when he landed. He hadn't met a mutant yet who could keep up with his speed, either in actual motion or with their eyes. He began to run circles around the man in the air, staying in the shadow of the trees. From all directions seemingly at once, knives were hurling towards the man. Kaz grabbed the hilt of his broadsword and began swung it effortlessly. It slid through the thick trunk of a tree, and then another, and another. The trees didn't fall right away, but slowly began to slide. Many trees suffered this fate. The destruction was not at random, the fallen trees spelled out two words: Got Ya. Kaz had put the broadsword back in its sheath and grabbed his thornwhip as he was fond of calling it. Looking at the man from this angle he caught the glare of that thing in the sky. <Fine, you wanna play that way.> He uncurlled it from his waist and held it ready as two more knives were thrown at the man. These two colided with eachother a few feet from him, causeing a flashbomb of insane dissorienting light and sound, as well as shrapnal everywhere. Leaping into the air from just beyond the pool and behind the man. He was at the man's height in the sky when he snapped the thornwhip at the man trying to grab his neck. Through the glare he wasn't sure where his whip would land.

OOC: Can Kaz really jump up 200 feet into the air? Naturally or even unnaturally? 200 feet is a lot of feet without the ability to fly or something... Realize that this is 20 stories tall at least.... does he really have that leaping capability? Just wondering...
Zeke chuckled as he saw the little mutant below spell out things with fallen trees. How simple... and useless. He was wasting his time and energy. As the knives flew into the air towards Zeke, he effortlessly dodged most of them by manipulating the sulfur in his shoes to move around. Most was the key word however. There were so many, that Zeke was bound to be in a little trouble. In a flash Zeke spotted a knife out of the corner of his eye that was more on target than the rest of them. He was able to jerk his hand up just in time to create a block of sulfur.
With a slam, the knife and block collided, than fell the distance to the ground. The collision had taken place only about six inches from Zeke's neck. Perhaps a little too close for comfort...
Zeke then sw two more knives, set apart from the rest, that were headed for him. Unfortunately for the mutant below, they were slightly away from Zeke. All he had to do was manipulate the sulfur on his shoes to pull himself a few feet away before the explosion. The defeaning sound controlled the sky, and Zeke saw the knives explode.
"Hmm..." was all he said...
Time to bring in the big guns. He pulled the cloud below upwards, spinning it around his body like a tornado, allowing only a slight space between the cloud to allow Zeke to see. But he had lost sight of the mutant below. The swordsman was no where to be seen. Suddenly, a snap sounded through the chaos. A portion of the cloud dissolved as the whip split through it. Zeke could now see the mutant had leapt up and sent a whip his way. The snap had been only a few inches from Zeke's left leg.
Game on...
Zeke wasn't wasting any more time on this one. He shot upwards another one hundred feet, the cloud still swirling around him. He mixed in more sulfur to add to the acidity and size of the cloud and completely surrounded himself with it. Then, it rained.
Ezekiel concentrated to send acid rain spilling from his cloud downward. He dispered it enought to cover a 500 foot diameter circle below. If the mutant with the whip and knives was in that circle, he would be hit by the poisonous acid rain and it would dissolve instantly into his skin, causing a reaction inside his body, eating his organs and function from the inside.
Good.
Zeke waitied and watched through his loopholes. He couldn't see anything at the moment, and he couldn't tell whether his attack would have any effect.

Iris nearly lost her balance as number of crashes and explosions rang through the trees, startling her almost off of her perch. The commotion came from the area she’d just left, near the pool. She stood on the branch and turned, trying to see what was going on. She pulled a bit of her water bubble toward her, and held it at eye level. After a bit of stretching, and curving, and her vision was magnified enough to see the area she’d come from. Or at least, she would have been able to, if the tree branches weren’t in the way. Still gazing through her makeshift telescope, she held out her hand. The mud ball she’d been playing with separated into numerous bits, some the size of silver dollars, others a bit larger. With a snap of her fingers they became liquid bullets, driving forward with speed enough to splinter through the wood. Branches, twigs and leaves rained down to the ground as the bullets cleared a path straight through the trees. She wasn’t sure where the mud bullets ended up, but she hoped that no person was in their way. Flesh was much softer than wood to pass through.
“That’s better,” Iris said aloud as her line of vision cleared. Not that it did much good. A sheet of rain was blocking her view.
“Rain??” She looked around. The sky was clear where she was, not a cloud in sight. Why was it raining in the one area. She crossed her arms, her face scrunched into a pout. “Hrmph! I want to see what’s happening!” Still gazing through her ‘telescope’, she held both hands forward, and swept them apart. The sheet of rain parted like a curtain. Her pout melted into a satisfied smile as she tried to figure out why the grass was beginning to wilt.
The swirlling black abyss that was Skoliro's bats continued to move around the two as they battled inside. Darius was completely unaware of any other battle happening in the area, he was under the impression that there was only the three of them there that is why when he looked to the skys he was alarmed to see a large swirlling cloud moving through the sky with rain spitting from it.
This definately aint a normal occurance, its got to be a mutant, Skoliro seems to have everything under control for now I've got to check this out he thought to himself. Darius looked one more time at the mass of bats before streaching his wings out and with one powerfully effortless flap of his wings he was level with the swirling cloud. After watching for awhile Darius could swear he saw a dark silhouette in the middle of it all. He began to circle it to investgate futher.

"Hey!" Iris complained as a gust of wind upset her makeshift telescope, making her lose focus. She glaned around, frowning, as she looked for the source of the wind. A large winged-shadow passed overhead, way too big to be a bird. It must have been that fellow she saw earlier.
"Guess he's curious, too. Hmm...."
Iris looked back and forth from the the living black cloud, to the unusual rain, and wondered which would be more fun to explore. They both looked so interesting. Hmm.....
A mischievious grin, lit her face. With one hand she moved her water 'blob' out toward the swirling black cloud. With the other she reached out toward the rain. With a small giggle, she lowered both hands, then pushed upwards, as if throwing something into the air. Both sets of water obeyed, shooting upwards into the sky in two gysers of water.
Iris laughed out loud. Now all she had to do was wait and see which gyser drew the most attention, and see what happened next.

Iris smiled as the twin gysers created a pair of beautiful rainbows in the sky. One of them seemed to glare at her, making her turn away. But it still was beautiful. <"How perfect is that?"> she thought to herself. She stretched and yawned, wondering which side was going to react first.
Before she finished her yawn, a loud crash startled her. Seconds later a tree came flying out of nowhere, and smashed into the tree she was sitting in. As it fell she swung out and up, putting herself on top. When it hit the ground she tumbled and rolled off, landing on hard on her rear.
"Ow! OW! OW!!" Iris rubbed her backside. "That hurt!" She glared angrily around. The flying wood had torn a hole in the treeline, so she had no problems seeing what was going on now. The first thing she saw was a group of red giants stomping around. Since they were so big, she assumed they had been behind the tree-missiles.
The ground was muddy now from the rain. She pulled several globs of mud to her. "Hey you! Big, red and ugly! Watch where you're tossing your toys! All of you!" With that she swept her hands forward, landing a glob of mud smack in the middle of each of the red giants' faces.
