The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Skoliro, still smirking, called out to the bats with his mind.Cease. Just as suddenly as they had started the bats stopped and he turned and gazed into her eyes. His own emerald orbs were sizing her up, deciding if she would be better to just kill and feed from or let live and befriend, then maybe feed from her. The bats started to swarm closer to the girl that was lying on the floor. He heard her wheezing increase and he remembered that his first intention was not to kill her. Stop the bleeding. All of the bats that were around her at that moment seemed to swallow the mutant into blackness.

Iara was still struggling under him as the bats stopped screaming. She stopped and stared at him, wondering why he had made them stop. Suddenly the black mass moved to somewhere else. Because of the fact that he was still ontop of her, she couldn't look up to see where they went so she continued to struggle but stopped yelling to save energy.
He eyed her suspiciously when the bats stopped moving.
You would rather them not.
No doubt he wasn't doing this for her, more like for his own conscience, but he wanted her to know the power he had. Right then a drop of his own blood oozed down his face and landed with a splash on the floor next to her head.

"SAVE HER.... please!"
She wasn't freaked by the blood, she had seen a lot spilled from living in such a dangerous place as Miami. She just silently thanked the uiniverse for this change in actions.
Skoliro furrowed his eyebrows just as the buzz of the bats in motion filled the room again. Reparation? Why?
It's just a little blood. Nothing I can't replace.
He smirked coldly at her. Now he had decided that he would kill her, but he probably would end up feeding off of her. Bending down next to his neck and whispered into her ear.

Iara shuddered at the creature's words but unknown to him she fingered a sliver of brick that was knicking the tips of her finger. She had been thinking about it the whole time. If she should stab but not kill him he could make those bats kill that poor girl then her. If she did kill him then whatever the bats were doing would stop and the girl could still die. So, she laid there, unmoving and watching the thing with dark chocolate eyes. She chose self sacrifice, it was the only choice. She needed a miracle, instead the building began to fall.
Skoliro chuckled slightly, his lips grazing her sky, as he heard her pulse quicken. So she was going to offer herself in place of the other. What? Did she think he was a pure evil killing machine? Ignoring the crash he heard from the building, knowing that the bats would keep them safe he turned just a bit to whisper into her ear.
Don't worry, I won't kill you.
With that he opened his mouth and clasped his lips over her neck, allowing some of his numbing syliva to snick into her skin before biting down.

Iara couldn't calm her pulse and knew he probably could tell. She shuddered a little as his lips grazed against her and bit her lip.
"Don't worry, I won't kill you."
Despite the fact that he had her pinned and was about to bite, she knew it was better to just believe him. She flinched when she felt his lips form a seal on her neck like a wet kiss and held still, not wanting to end up like the girl he was currently saving. The bite was more like a pinch and she forced herself to breathe deeply.
Skoliro drank the blood greedily, it was sweet, sweeter the any human's blood. But it had a certain tang to it, and he guessed that was because of her venom. Still it was tasty, and he worried he wouldn't be able to stop. The cut on his head now had sealed over with a scab, leaving his normally whitish-blond hair a deep red. One last drip fell, splattering o contact with the floor, spewing smaller drops across his face. The extra blood seemed to wake him up from his feeding trance and he urged himself to let go. It happed slowly, his body not wanting to leave a good prey still alive, but it happened. Pulling away he smirked ad licked his lips of the remaining blood. Glancing down at the wound on her neck he made sure the his saliva had done it job, and it had because the cut was already healing.

Cascavel touched her neck, once, twice and no spurts or gushes or nothing. Just a few drops of her blood touched her fingers. He had kept his word. The whole experience wasn't all that bad.
"Cool."
She gave herself a "wtf?" look before sitting up slightly and locking eyes with him. She was unafraid. The bats had stopped screeching, they weren't under a bunch of rubble, the girl was being saved, he had eaten, and she was alive. Everything seemed good to her. She raised a shaped eyebrow as she realized something different about him and a few red waves fell into her face.
Skoliro straitened himself, looking toward the girl. He reached out the the bats with his mind, trying to figure what had happened with the crash and if the girl was OK. Once he knew he turned back gazed into the girl's eyes with his own emerald ones. Cool. Was she really that calm, have such a brush with death? Probably not, but he went alone with it.Is she going to be OK? Are you alright now? The girl, she'll be fine. Me, well, I'm sorry for the way I acted before, it's just, well, sorry. His voice had returned to it's soft velvet tone, tinted slightly with a British accent.
"The girl, she'll be fine. Me, well, I'm sorry for the way I acted before, it's just, well, sorry."
Iara smiled and wiped the bit of blood from his cheek.
"It is ok. You kept your word and you're out of that trance thingy or whatever. Sorry about poisoning you." She sat up and dusted herself off a bit. "By the way, what do I taste like? Sorry, just curious."

Pain pulsed through Iris, burning her head, neck and shoulder. Her mind was fuzzy and dull, and she wasn’t sure if she was awake or dreaming. There was a steady buzzing in the background, like a million flies, and her head spun like a carnival ride. Even the ground felt like it was shaking beneath her. She couldn’t remember what was going on, though something told her she’d just had a near-death experience.
Her eyes opened, just a slit. Everything still was black and moving, so she closed them back again. Without realizing it, she groaned aloud. The pain in the right side of her body was almost unbearable, burning like fire. Only way to put it out came to her jumbled mind.
She concentrated, at least as much as she could. The icy-blue stone just below her shoulder activated, doing the usual disappear/reappear act from her back to her hand. Her hair and eyes took on the color of a frozen glacier. Her skin took on a frosted sheen, and her breath formed foggy wisps in the air. Slowly, painfully, she reached up to touch her neck, where the pain seemed to center. A thin band of ice began to form, like a thick necklace, numbing her whole neck and part of her shoulder. An involuntary shudder shook her, further adding to the pain. One arm didn’t seem to want to work, and she couldn’t remember why. Another band of ice began, eventually encasing her entire arm. Slowly the pain began to recede.
Now if only the buzzing and spinning would stop............
Skoliro looked down at the hard cement that was now spattered with blood. After consulting the bats he had found out that the crash had actually been the building collapsing. The collapse had been caused by the big red mutant and his pals. Out of the corner where the girl lay he heard a hushed moan, and he looked up. So she was awake? Good. Now he could just hope she forgave him.
