The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Nicki felt herself starting to relax (maybe it was that deathly quiet 'cute' that had escaped Kaz's mouth) as she let herself move with his pace. She was starting to have a bit of fun when Kaz leaned down and offered some other form of recreation. She was about to decline when he said the magic word: pool.
Nicki had been a fan of pool since she was just a little one. When she was a young child in Dayton, she spent a lot of time with her grandfather, who loved pool. Nicki has been playing since she was old enough to hold a cue. And she had only gotten better since she began to have an intimate knowledge of geometry.
"Yeah," Nicki agreed, a smug smile spreading across her lips. "Let's go play pool..."

Something lit the girl up when he spoke. It was a big change from what he had seen of her so far. "Let's go play pool..." She had a smug smile on her face, <Uh-oh, what did I just get myself into.> Kaz let out a laugh as he started making his way to where the pool tables were. "Go easy on me okay?" He smiled at her sweetly, "You had the pick the one game I'm not very good at." Looking ahead, there were a lot of people crowding their way. "Hmm....How about we take a short flight?" With that, he moved up against Nicki, putting his arm around her waist and lifted her up a bit, "Hold on." Flexing his legs, he launched the two of them into the air above the throng of people below. Reaching the peak of the jump quickly, they seemed to hover in the air before falling towards the ground. A slim railing was below them as they decended. Expertly, the tips of Kaz's feet touched down on it as if he had just took a single step on solid ground. Hopping down, he set Nicki on the ground. They were right next to the pool tables. "Ok, pick the table I'll grab some Cue sticks."

"How bout we take a short flight?"
Before Nicki could ask him to repeat that statement, Kaz had lifted them in the air, taking them over the to the pool tables. Nicki fought to keep her mouth from gaping as Kaz instructed her to grab a table. What the hell was that? That was really cool!
Shaking herself from the haze, Nicki looked around, found an empty table and sat herself down on the green felt, holding the table for the two of them.
Nicki kicked her feet a little as she stared off into space. That was really cool, the whole "wheeee" thing. Kaz was pretty cool too. She smiled a bit, coming back to reality. She was really glad she had come tonight. And should would be even more so after kickin Kaz's ass in pool.

Iris smiled and set down her drink. "No, I don't work here. They didn't have what I wanted, so I imporvised a bit."
As she answered she turned slightly and plucked the bottle of amaretto from the shelf, and a shaker. The ice machine was nearby, so she didn't have to go far to fill the shaker. Then she flipped the bottle upside down, holding it by the neck, poured in the liquor and flipped it right-side up again in one fluid motion. One of the bartenders must have heard the order after all, because he turned and tossed her a lemon, which she caught in the top part of the shaker. About the same time something else came flying at her from another direction, which she also caught in the shaker top. She was surprised to see the same champagne cork that had flown off earlier.
<"Now where did that come from?"> she wondered idly. She tossed it up and then bumped it with her elbow, right in the trash. Aloud she asked, "So how long have you too been coming here? You sure seem to know your way around the dance floor," she added with a smile.
Lemon juice followed the amaretto, and she popped the top on, shaking the container rapidly. Realizing where she was, she decided to try and fit in a bit. In a brief moment her hair washed blue, as did her eyes. With her free hand she retrieved a bottle of water from the counter. As she picked it up, the bottle's outside frosted over with ice crystals, chilling the water inside to nearly freezing. She set it in front of the man.
She strained the drink into a sour glass, topped it with a frozen lemon twist and handed it to the man, and then turned to see what the girl wanted.

Kaz walked over to the rack holding the cue sticks. Picking out two, he checked them on a nearby table, rolling them to see if they had any curves or bends. One of them did, replacing it and checking the new one in the same way. The new one was free of flaws. Taking a quick glace to see where Nicki had gone, he made his way to her and the table. She was sitting on the table as he walked towards her. Kicking her feet the way she was made her seem young, innocent, and free. Smiling slightly he leaned the cue sticks against the table, and picked the girl up off the table. "Ready? I'll rack'em up." After setting her down, he got the table set up. "Since you seem like you're good at this. How bout you break."

Nicki smiled brightly as she jumped off the table, watching as Kaz racked em up. This wasn't usually how Nicki had played pool. She often used to pretend not be good (especially when her grandpa would put a bit of money on the side) and show she was good in a gradual way. But it wasn't like she was going to be hustling Kaz, so she let herself enjoy just being good at something that had nothing to do with books.
Nicki took the cue ball in her right hand, positioning it accordingly. She let the cue drag between her fingers and put enough force to make a loud crack at the connection. Nicki then moved herself, leaning against the table a bit, her back to the balls.
"12, 15, 13, 11" Nicki counted off as the balls clanked into the pockets, each falling in the progression she called out. "Guess that makes me stripes huh?" Nicki smiled, lifting an eyebrow to Kaz.
If Nicki was a little more self-aware, she would have known that this was what she always did when she found herself liking someone. She was showing off...she was trying to impress him.

Kaz watched as she readied for the break. Smooth and slow, like a pro. *CRACK*, She turned her back to the table and looked at him as she counted off numbers. As she did he watched each one of the named balls fall into a pocket. Normally he never let surprise show, it wasn't how he was..ever. Surprise was weakness to him. Maybe he was just really relaxed knowing this was a safe place. His jaw went slack as the last one went in. Scratching his head absent mindedly. "Guess that makes me stripes huh?" He let out laugh and ran his hand through his hair. "I..guess it does." Stepping back to lean against the wall, he closed his mouth and put his hand out, "Please continue." After a moment, "One question. Will I get a chance to show you how bad I am at this?" Pausing, "On second thought, forget I asked, probably better I not." Smiling at her he gave her a wink.

"Please continue."
Nicki smiled as she start to move around the table, lining up shots in her head that would make the most amount of balls fall in with the least amount of shots.
"One question. Will I get a chance to show you how bad I am at this? On second thought, forget I asked, probably better I not." Kaz finished his statement with a wink that brought color to Nicki's cheek again. That being said, the whole conversation had given Nicki an idea.
Leaning down and lining up the shot again, Nicki cracked the cue ball and this time, the ball skillfully weaved between balls, touch one side of the table, than the other, than the other, and finally the last before lining up with the number two ball, giving Kaz an easy shot to sink.
"Shucks," she smiled, leaning on her cue. "Guess it's your turn"

Watching as she lined the cue stick up with the cue ball and her marks. To him it seemed perfect. Especially with what she had just done. He expected it to be over with in moments. The cue ball moved accross the table knicking a few of the ones on the table but not solidly. <Probably just setting them up for her next shots....> As the cue ball settled, none of the balls she touched had gone in, or even moved a whole lot, instead it was perfectly placed for a shot at the two. "Shucks, guess it's your turn." Again in less than a two minute span his jaw went slack, "Nicki, you didn't....crap."
At that moment a waitress was walking by, Kaz signaled her, "Whiskey, on the rocks. ASAP." As she began to walk away, "Make it a double." Turning back to the table and Nicki, he picked up his cue stick and the cube of chalk. Twisting the chalk on the tip a bit before setting it down and began to line his shot up. He could see where he needed to hit the cue ball to get the two in, but how much force? Too much and it would go in along with the two ball, or go careening off anywhere, or even jump off the table <That would make me look like a huge idiot>. But not enough, and he might not even get the ball in if he hit it.
"Tch," <Whatever. I'll just shoot.> With that thought, he hit the cue ball. Too much power in the hit, the cue ball hit the two, which went in, but went rolling off to hit a few others. Luckly it stayed away from the eight ball. The cue ball hit all four sides before careening off of a ball, a stripe, knocking it in, and going into a pocket at the other end of the table. "Scratch." He looked at Nicki with a knowing smile, "Told ya I'm not good at it." Just then the waitress brought over two glasses and set them down on the table behind Nicki. He moved over to the table, he heard the woman laugh, for which Kaz glared at her out of the corner of his eyes. Since his back was to Nicki, he knew she wouldn't see what he did, but she might notice the half choak sound the waitress made as she walked away. Picking one of the glasses up, he downed the drink. He felt a burn down the back of his throat, a slight hiss-like sound came from his clenched teeth then a short half-grunt, then finally a long realeaving sigh. "Ya had to see for your self huh." Laughing, "I think I just blew my 'cool guy' image."
Giggling again at Nail's comment Nika shook her head slightly. "You did a great job shaking your booty." She placed her hand on his and looked him in the eyes. "You did very good when you danced with me."
Pulling her hand back Nika looked out at the dance floor when nail pointed out Iara and her dancing partner. "Yeah she dances really good. In fact she's had a couple people dance with her already since I've been here anyways." Then looking to Kaz and Nicki as they went over to the pool tables Nika smiled again. "Seems miss shyness is breaking out of her shell so to say."
"So what else would you like to talk about Nail? I'm all ears." She twitched her ears a little and then giggled.

Nicki didn't laugh, didn't even show she wanted to, but boy did she. Not because he was bad or anything (hell her brother never could get pool no matter how much Grandpa tried to teach him); it was that Kaz was so upset about the fact that he wasn't good. It was actually kinda cute, him getting all huffy.
Nicki smiled as she fished out the cue ball, letting Kaz finish his drink before beckoning him over with a single finger.
"Come on over here now," Nicki smiled, leaning on her cue as she positioned the ball, "Time for a quick lesson."
Nicki, completely focused on the task of teaching the boy, took Kaz's arm and bent his back, forcing him into a hunched over position. Nicki followed suit.
"Now was you need to remember is that the ball wants to move. It's round, it's slick, it'll go with just a tap." Nicki reached around Kaz's side, taking his arm and positioning the cue correctly in his fingers. "Now, you need to make sure your fingers aren't too tight on the cue stick or else it won't move smoothly and you'll screw up your shot. Also, you want make contact in the dead center of the ball, that'll move it dead center." Nicki smiled, moving the hand that was on top of Kaz's back, showing the correct motion.
It was around this moment Nicki realized she was pretty much wrapped up in Kaz. Her cheeks flushed and she cleared her throat, letting Kaz go as she backed a way a little.

Mettaliar walked into the club and looked around for somewhere to take a seat. He had been bored and decided to try going somewhere besides the park or something. He eventually found a seat at the bar and ordered a drink, Mountain Dew to be precise. As he glanced around sipping on his drink he noticed some people gathered around a billiard area, other people dancing, etc. Mettaliar wanted to get up but really felt he was comfortable where he was. He just continued to sit and watch.
Seems like people are having fun here... maybe this is a pretty good idea. he smiled to himself.

As he finished his second drink, Nicki beckoned him over using her one finger, <That's just too tempting to resist.> He knew the alcohol in his body was already being processed and clensed at an unnatural rate. Though he wouldn't be getting drunk anytime soon, he hoped his breath didn't smell too much like alcohol. Mentally that thought made him stop in his tracks, though his body kept moving. Why was he thinking such things, he never did. Looking at the girl in the glasses, her small frame, he sighed, <This is...unusual.>
As he reached where she was standing, he let her guide him. He listened as she gave him a lesson in pool. <I'm making a fool of myself here....And for what?> He looked at Nicki as her hand was on his, her other hand on his back, her brown hair moved away from her face flowed down her back, peering over her glasses he saw her bright blue eyes. <Heh, I know what.....> As she was showing him how to hold the cue stick and position it right, he absent-mindedly rubbed her thumb with his own.
He felt her move away a bit and was a bit dissapointed. "Got it?" She asked. Nodding a bit, "Think so....Like this?" Taking aim like she had showed him, he checked himself moving the cue stick back and forth over his fingers, adjusting his grip to fit, but letting it slide without hinderance. Softly he hit the cue ball, it rolled smoothly on the table, hiting the four and stopped. The four ball rolled, slowly, looking like it would stop at any moment, but continued and rolled right into the corner pocket at the end of the table. Standing up straight, he looked at Nicki. Putting his hands together he bowed to her, and did a really bad imitation of a kung-fu flick, "Grasshopper, has much to learn, from your soft, and skillful, hands." His tone was very playful.

Nicki smiled and clapped a hand with Kaz before pulling him into a quick hug, "See, I knew you could do it!" Nicki smiled, but quickly let go of Kaz, moving her hand towards her ear, pulling on the lobe again.
"Grasshopper, has much to learn, from your soft, and skillful, hands."
And with that Nicki turned bright red, smiling to herself as she ducked her head. Nicki walked over to the table and picked up her coke, sipping the straw just trying to hide her now crimson skin.
"Come on, do it again. Practice makes perfect and all those silly little things they tell you when you're a child..."
Nail raised an eyebre slightly as her ears twitched like satalite dishes. She certainly had a sense of humor. He had to admit that when she touched his hand, he wasn't quite sure what to make of it, but he figured that he probably shouldn't think too hard about it.
"Well, what do you like doing in your spare time. Play any sports?"
What a wierd subject. He instantly realised ten things wrong with that question after it left his mouth. But it was too late then. He really hoped she didn't take it the wrong way.
