The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Dark Vengeance just sounds a little too cliche if worst comes to worst hit the thesaurus, Dark is all good but Dark Vengeance doesn't really roll of the tounge like the Brotherhood or other evil mutant names like Magnetos Acolytes which eventually jsut molded into the Acolytes , you could even go in the direction of Oppressors "______". Just though I would try and help, best luck with finding a name.
Hmm.... Well, how about something (and this is taking off from what others have said) along the lines of Rebel Angels, or Rebel Darkness, ooo... I like that one.
Or, perhaps if you wanted to do the whole abbreviation thing, you could have Alliance of Rebel Mutants (ARM), " " " Mutant Youth (ARMY) ha, I love myself. Not to say that we're all youth, but strong emotions can bring out that young energy in you. I'm sure there are plenty of cool little things like that you could come up with.
Ooo, and I thought about the color thing some more... I heard complaints about it sounding too much like a uniform, but I still like the armband-ish idea. Like how the uh, oh what were they called.... ok, my mind is failing me, but the mutants who lived in the sewers, and how a few of them showed up in X3 movie recently, and they made the comment that all of them had a tattoo to show they were mutants. But what if like, reverted back to gang symbols, everyone in Oppressor's group were to have a certain patch or perhaps some bars on the shoulder of all their clothes to show they were a part of the group. Ooo, and if you were higher up you could have more patches/bars, or a different patch/bar, or maybe one in a different color. You could get really creative with that and create, like, a whole social-ladder system.

The armband thing sounds like a military deal, though I kinda like it. About the color, I'd rather stay away from a redish color (granted I skimmed most of this thread cuz I just saw it and I'm at work ^__^;; so forgive me if I don't quite get what it's for). I don't mind lavendar (sp?), but if I remember right, that's a lighter color. I'd more prefer a darker color, possibly a Royal Purple?
On the subject of a name, I actually like The Sanctified. Good and bad at the same time. Kaz doesn't nessisarily think he's better than humans...Okay, so he does, but still. I'd rather stay away from Dark anything. I was just thinking Oppressor of how you were comparing Xmen to your character's name Dmen...Well, I just thought of Omen: dictionary.reference.com/browse/omen
Doesn't it always seem like there are more good guys than bad? And aren't the baddies always more powerful?

The baddies are usually stronger than the goodies, but somehow they just f*ck it all up! lol Not saying you guys will...COME ON, give me a good-feeling hug! Ya know you want one from the goodie Lady!! haha
BUT anyway, ...from this last post, are we sticking with The Sanctified then? I like the Omen or O-men. Nice play on words again.
Wherever it came from, I still like it. I just got done reading two books that had a secret group of women sorceresses called 'The Order', very ominous, yes, very good.
