The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sam smirked as they headed to the elevator as Andrew voiced his own opinion. Clicking the first floor button the door closed and opened shortly after and Sam continued on the conversation, ”Sure there are some mutants out there who are dangerous but do you think of yourself as a threat to mankind? I have been called a monster a few times and I’m sure I’ll be called it a few more before my time is done way way way down the line.”
Stepping off to the side as a bunch of kids ran by laughing Sam looked back to Andrew and nodded his head back to the kids, ”Now do you fear what some of those kids that just ran by may become?” Sam asked curiously as he walked down the hall getting closer and closer to his office, ”I do personally and the reason mankind fears mutants is because they aren’t fully aware of what we are capable of the potential each one of us has could as you mentioned before do something great or do great harm.”
Turning a corner Sam continued, ”MRC division for example, handful of mutants are in that division and there sole purpose is to create a safe city. You happen to notice the amount of violence go down in the city because of it? A lot of lives have been saved because of them.” Sam said with a smirk on his face feeling a bit of pride when he talked about a few of the officers.
”People fear the unknown, they fear what could happen.” Sam trailed off and opened his office as his cat Cammie greeted him and Andrew with a loud meow before returning back to her catnap on a pile of papers that were on Sam’s desk.
”You're aware of the X-Men right?” Sam asked hoping that Andrew paid attention to the going ons of the mansions seeing as he currently worked and lived there. Moving to his chair Sam took a sear and reached into a small drawer behind him and removed to waters. Cooling them both off he tossed one to Andrew.

At Sam's first statement in response Drew laughed. Not at Sam having been called a monster in the past. No, it was more the mere notion that he could be a threat to mankind. That was hilarious.
"Me? A threat to mankind? Not in a million years. Well, unless I get hold of a doomsday device or something."
Andrew smirked. The mere thought was ludicrous. Sam asked another question and Drew took a moment to answer.
"Yes and no. Who knows what they'll be capable of in just a few months but I trust the folks here to do their best to make sure we don't need to fear them."
And then topic was rolled right along onto the MRC. Andrew gave a nod in response to that.
"Yeah, Jorge's saved my butt a couple of times. They do good work."
Into the office they went and Drew nodded at Sam's cat. Merely a courtesy for the beast that deigned to park itself on the paperwork. Drew nodded again as Sam mentioned fear of the unknown but his easy following of the conversation took a quick hit when Sam mentioned the X-Men. He still caught the chilled water though, and busied himself with opening it and taking a swig to give himself time to be able to answer coherently.
"Yeah. Kealey and, uh, Ghost I think saved me from a hostage situation a while back as X-Men. I asked Kealey about them after that. So I've known about your team for a while."
Andrew sat down across from Sam. Why would he be bringing up the X-Men? Andrew hadn't told a soul other than Jorge about wanting to join. Had Sam and Jorge met and Jorge let it slip? Or was this just something Sam decided on his own? He needed to know why Sam was mentioning them. If it was an invitation to join it would simply be too good to be true. If not it still begged the question of why he'd brought them up.

Taking a sip of the water he had retrieved from one of his desk drawers Sam followed by nodding his head, ”Well that should save us some time then, but to add to what you were laughing about earlier you are a still a mutant and even though your powers may be more passive than other mutations your are still different from those that fear mutants. They won’t and don’t make any distinction between which one of us is dangerous and which one isn’t. We were all a danger to their way of life.”
Taking another sip of water to wet his throat he continued on as Cammie, decided the papers were only second best to Sam’s lap so while he continued to talk the large tabby decided to move. ”And you happened to touch on what my ideals behind the X-men, we are there to lead an example that not all of us deserved to be feared or locked up, half the kids that start school here try to get on the team so they too can continue the cycle. We make a difference, the MRC is probably one of the best visuals I can make.”
Sam’s hand started running across the tabby’s back who was now placed on his lap. ”The reason I’m bringing this up to you right now is because I wanted to extend to you a invitation to join the X-Men.” Sam took another sip filling in a dramatic pause before he added, ”I’ve been thinking about offering you a spot for some time but I decided to wait for a bit to see if you had what it takes and I think you’d make a fine addition to the team… we also have jackets.” Sam said with a smirk, waiting to hear Andrew’s response.

Sam's serious statement regarding people regarding human treatment of mutants took any warmth from Drew's face. His expression was cold and just a bit angry.
"I know."
He didn't need to say more than that. Sam certainly didn't seem to need his two cents on that issue. They both knew the truth of what he'd said. Andrew watched the cat transfer from the desk to Sam's lap and he had a momentary vision of Sam as some sort of cheap villain. He had the eye patch, the office chair, and the cat after all. That cheered him back up after the swerve into serious territory. Drew smiled at Sam's intentions for the X-Men. It was a nice idea, regardless of whether it worked or not.
Drew's thoughts on the matter were stopped dead however when Sam finally got to the reason he'd brought the whole thing up. He wanted Drew to join them. Sam. Wanted Drew. To be an X-Man.
Something he'd wanted for months now.
It was a surreal feeling to be invited when you felt you hadn't earned it yet. But here was the leader of the team offering him a spot. And saying that he'd been thinking about it for a while now. It was tough fighting the huge grin that threatened to overwhelm him and Sam just sat there smirking, waiting for him to say something.
"Yes! I mean, of course, I'll join but are you sure you want me? I mean I'm not all that strong and I still need to work on my fighting like you said and my mutation isn't any help."
Drew cut off the quick spoken ramble with a slight blush and a sheepish look. That was embarrassing.

Andrew’s response made Sam laugh, not a hard laugh but one that mad Cammie jump from his lap and wander about the room looking for something more interesting to investigate. ”Perfect!” Sam said as he clapped his hands together once then raised a finger in the air towards Drew, ”However, we aren’t all about fighting in fact that is something I like to stress and reiterate all the time, the best solutions are the ones we resolve peacefully, any brute can fight. Our job as X-Men are to try and talk out a situation and if that doesn’t work… then we crack a few heads.”
Sam stood from his chair and then grabbed his water, ”It’s alright to be excited, not everyone can be an X, and your response about your mutation was something Kealey said, we need people to keep us honest keep ourselves in check, and you’re an honest guy perfect for the expression actually.” Sam let out a small laugh and walked to the door, ”I’ll notify the others at the next upcoming meeting and we can get the training wheels on shortly after.”
Putting his hand on the door Sam opened it and as Cammie ran out into the hallways Sam looked back to Andrew, ”Oh and I was serious about that paper work, it was the large pile Cammie was laying on…” with a smirk he walked out of the door with a wave and another laugh.
