The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

*At that comment Ravage tilts her head quizzically to the side.* What? *Says a little taken aback.* I mean, yes but I just gave you three reasons . . .I think they count as strikes.

"Well, then, since you're not being fair, and you obviously don't like me, I think I'm going to go." He says, moving to the edge of the building, and jumping down the ladder to the ground. And then he sees Toxis on the sidewalk. He looks up to Ella. "I think you're missing someone..." He says, dropping his bag and walking over to kneel next to Toxis.
Toxis looks at the Archer for a second, then starts coughing again, a little blood coming from her mouth. She's shaking terribly. She tries to say something, but all that comes out is a sort of grunt, and she slumps over, unconsious.
Not usually, I walk everywhere in the city, or use public transportating you can meet the rudest most deserving of a beating people on public transit. *Ella informes him as she walks over to the road and waits a few seconds and then hails a cab.* Can you pick her up?

By this time, he has already carried her over to his motercycle. He positions her carefully on the bike, making sure her arms are snuggly around his neck. He starts it off, and speeds out of the alleyway.
“Yeah. You?” Ruben asked frantically as he touched her face. “Kinda disappeared on me there…” he added as his eyes suddenly shot to the two handguns on the other side of the car.
“My turn.” He said with a brief smile and a raise of his eyebrows. Rolling over onto his back and morphing into his phantom form, he sank into the asphalt only to emerge from the ground by the two handguns. Quickly grabbing them and once again reverting to phantom form, he sank back into the ground and re-emerged next to Setsuna. “CAN YOU USE THESE THINGS??” he asked quickly. “There’s a guy with a BIG gun coming this way…”
Just as he had finished saying so, the gunman began unloading rounds into the vehicle they hid behind. Thoughts frantically buzzed through Ruben’s mind as he realized the car could only take so much before it would blow, killing both of them. Giving Setsuna a quick hard look, he phantomized and sank back into the ground. Setsuna could barely hear the spitting of two silenced handguns as the chain of rapidfire into the car ceased and a man howled out in pain. Ruben had come out of the ground behind the gunman and shot out both his legs from a very close distance. The large Mafioso-looking man screamed and cried as Ruben stood shocked at what he had just done.
“SETSUNA!” he screamed for her, pistols still pointing down at the man as others ran wildly, almost completely clearing the streets. It would only be a short matter of time before police arrived.
*Kilala rolled out from under the car and quickly stood up next to him.* "Nice shot..." *She said with a cock of the eyebrow. After taking the two guns from Ruben, she disassembled them and tossed them on the street.* "I'm a true ninja. True ones don't use guns." *The rapid fire began once again as the gunner apparently reloaded. Kilala took Ruben's hand and they ran down the street. When they reached the corner, two cop cars came screaching around the bend. The two stopped in their tracks and Kilala had to do something now. She put her hand out in front of her, creating a forcefield at some 10 feet wide. The cars slowed into the field, giving Kilala and Ruben time to avoid being crushed while the bumpers were only a few feet away.* "That was too close..." *More gunfire came from the rooftops and Kilala snapped back to the situation, taking Ruben's hand again to continue their escape.* "Come on!! We need to get back to the dojo!"
Ruben had decided he’d be much quicker moving in his phantom form and left Setsuna to trail behind him. He knew she could take better care of herself than he could, so he focused on taking care of himself the best way he knew how. Be untouchable and move fast.
He moved like a shark swimming in the pavement for maximum cover. Only the tip of his ghostly turquoise head could be seen. As he neared the Dojo, he rose out of the ground and was about to revert back to his normal physical self when suddenly there was an explosion. Setsuna was only a few hundred feet behind, with a perfect view of both the dojo as it exploded, and of Ruben as, in mid-morph the blast seemed to hit him and sent him flying across the street.
Ruben flew into the side of a parked truck, his body dropping to the ground like a broken ragdoll as pieces of the dojo came raining down from the sky…
*Kilala watched the whole scene in slow motion as her home blew up in a fiery explosion. She was so taken aback, she fell to the pavement. Kilala stared in shock for a few moments until someone running passed her was shot in the back and fell next to her. They were firing again. Kilala scrambled to her feet and bolted toward Ruben, who lay unconscious in the street.* "RUBEN!! RUBEN!!" *She dropped next to him, putting his arm over her shoulder and her own arm around his waist. Kilala lifted him to his feet as he started to come to. They ran down an alleyway and around to the back of the dojo. After placing Ruben down, she bent to his level, holding his face in her hands.* "I have to go inside, Ruben. Others could be inside...I have to make sure...I'll be right back!" *She kicked in the already off-the-hinges door and rushed inside. The flames were intense, but she paid them no mind as she came in through the back room and into the dojo. The sensei lay on the bottom of the staircase, slowly fading.* "SENSEI!!" *Kilala pulled him into her arms, but he refused her help, putting a pressure point on her wrist that made them both fall to the floor.* "HITAKI-SAMA, PLEASE! I have to get you out!" hitaki: "No...no. There's no point." *He said weakly as he held his stomach. It was the first time she noticed the wound. It was a sword that went clearly through him. She tried to pick him up again, but he put another pressure point on her throat.* "HITAKI, STOP!" hitaki: "NO! Now...you must...listen to me!" "Where are the children?!" hitaki: "They're gone. I sensed...the danger...and told them to leave..." *There was a relief that washed over her entire being. She bent over to listen to her master.* hitaki: "Eric caused this. He...he stole some very important documents from...my quarters. Ones pertaining to your...past..." *A beam in the ceiling began to fall on top of them, but Kilala created a forefield, slowing its descent. She quickly took both arms of her sensei and pulled him toward the back of the dojo. The beam crashed a moment later, creating a burst of flame. The fire was consuming the dojo fast and she needed to get out soon.* hitaki: "The men outside...they work for your...your father..." "I...I know." *She replied with a tear in her eye. Kilala really had no clue to tell her for certain they were from her father, but she knew deep down he was part of this somehow.* hitaki: "You must find..." *But his face turned gray and his expression froze as he slipped away from this life. Kilala placed his body down and took to her feet again. After retrieving her sword from her room, she raced back outside and bent down to help Ruben up once more. Before she had the chance, a familiar voice spoke.* eric: "The old man knew what was coming, but didn't even do anything about stopping me. Your father insisted you to live, which I wholy agree with. I can't kill you...yet." *Kilala placed Ruben back down again and pulled her sword from her back. She stepped forward toward him and stopped in a fighting stance.* "Then finish the job, Eric. Bring your punk ass over here so I can bend you over my knee and spank you with my sword." *Eric smirked, taking his sword out as well.* eric: "Careful, I may like it." *He raced at her full speed and swung his sword at her, but she spun and tried to strike him from behind. He placed his sword behind him and they locked together.* "YOU KILLED HITAKI!! AFTER HE TOOK YOU IN!" eric: "Save it! I plan to finish you quickly and then move on to your boyfriend over there." *She pushed back from the deadlock and stood in another stance, beckoning him on with her free hand. He rushed at her once more and the two only went into a stalemate as their skills were matched. Eric managed to get in a good right hook to Kilala's jaw and she fell to her knee. When she looked passed Eric, other men had appeared with automatic weapons in black suits.* 1stman: "MOVE, ERIC! You know the orders..." *Eric turned around which gave Kilala the chance to get back to Ruben. She shouldered him once more and they stood up to make their escape.* eric: "NO! I'll take her to him!" 1stman: "MOVE!" *They opened fire at Kilala, but she wouldn't be able to stop all of them. She quickly made a forcefield in front of them, slowing the bullets from meeting their mark. She kicked open the wire gate at the end of the alley and she and Ruben ran for it. The bullets would soon come back to real time. They reached the end of the alley just as someone came around the corner. It was another thug, but she drop kicked him down before he had a chance to reach for his gun. Kilala grabbed Ruben and bent him down as the bullets shot passed them. She reached into the man's jacket and handed it to Ruben.* "I can't use guns, but that doesn't mean you can't either." *They turned the corner and Kilala bravely walked into the middle of the street. The person's car slowed to a stop and she ordered the passengers out. Ruben climbed in as Kilala took the driver's side. She put her heel down on the gas and they sped away from the scene.*
