The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura was in the Foyer, she liked sitting here sometimes to relax because she got to see many mutants come in and out of the place and it gave her a place to look at some of sanctuaries lovely women. Aura was unsure why but she had grown to enjoy the pastime a lot in the last year, though she usually dismissed it She had even programmed a few fight simulations to make her opponents pleasant to her eye. Shaking her head, Aura let her aura form around her finger and tried to refine it into a key like shape, but she found the detail like the grooves were proving tough. SHe knew she could open most locks by destroying it but she wanted a much more subtle option as well. Like everything though she knew it was going to take practice and time many keys were different and she figured she would likely only be able to use the ability on locks she knew.
Then somthing grabbed her attention, a pair of men entered, one looked a strange shade of green and they were certainly staggering though Aura had no idea from what, nether seemed to be wounded. The Aura saw the bottile in the hand of the lead man who slammed it down on Lisa's desk loudly. To her credit and possibly working at sanctuary for so long, Lisa simply asked what she could help them with. Aura found it hard to make out the drunken man's word's but she knew the anger behind the voice that used the term, "Mutant scum". The Man started getting louder and before long his freind moved in as well.
Aura walked up to the counter. "Are you two mutant's?" she asked pleasantly. The man's friend sneered at her in responce and Aura, quickly formed a hammer and moved closer. Even drunk the man was not foolish enough to try and fight and tapped on his friends shoulder who quickly noticed Aura. Both men turned and ran and after them Aura ran as well, the pink hammer around her wrist still quite visible as she angrily ran after them. Aura heard strange music but had no time to look. Skidding onto the sidewalk Aura saw the source of the music and the two men running at whoever was playing. Aura followed though she let the hammer lose shape and fade from view.
Seyta glanced around the street as she knelt down clicking open her Violin case. There was a moderate amount of foot traffic, not as much as she would like, but enough for a few bucks if she was lucky. Of course there was probably less people because Seyta was only a few feet from The Sanctuary's front steps. It was a safe place for mutants though, nothing wrong about it. Personally she thought it was a good idea to have the place, but the building style, the golden doors gave it a strange feel. That made it the perfect place to play of course, a good place to add some musical flair.
Rosining her bow Seyta quickly tuned her violin. A few passerby's looked over to her with a hint of interest but the look faded as they got in range of her powers. Seyta shook her head frowning at her own worthless ability and started playing. Even the people in her range turned to look at the music, if only for a moment or two. After all its not normal to hear Cliffs of Dover on violin. Her frown changed into a smile as she fell into the swing of the music and people listening dropped a few dollars in her case.
Not being one to stand still as she played Seyta meandered in a small circle around her case. This put her back to the golden doors of the Sanctuary. She didn't see the two men burst out and run down the steps towards her, or the rather angry girl who followed them. The violin screeched as one of the men shoved past her and kicked her case several feet in his mad dash to avoid the girl. "Watch where the hell you're going ***hole!" Seyta glared as she turned around seeing the girl running after them. She looked familiar from somewhere but Seyta couldn't place it. Planting herself right in the girls way Seyta tucked her violin under her arm for safety. The girl would probably run straight into Seyta thanks to her powers, not the most effective way to get attention but it worked. "I'm guessing it's your fault those two just ruined my performance?"
The girl somehow slipped Aura's mind and she plowed directly into her, though Aura maintained momentum, she lost her footing, and fell to the ground on her side, her Aura keeping her safe from harm' She recalled a girl speaking before as well but what she said seemed fuzzy. As she stood up, she began looking around, trying to find the two she had been chasing. They were long gone though and Aura was glad they were able to cause no harm. Sure she missed the chance to feel the sepcial project she was working on.
"Foolish humans......." she said distracted looking around for the source of the voice, it was only through extreme effort, that Aura was able to attribute to the girl in front of her, but even then she felt her eyes trying to look at other things. "Anti-Mutant gang" Aura said as it became easier for her to focus on the girl. "I am sorry" she said as she did she raised her fingers from her side, she reached out to the aura surrounding her, she was releived to know it she had lost littile strength in it. "How hard did i fall?" she asked.
Standing she offered a hand to the other girl. "My name is Aura, and yours?" she said. "I am sorry i ran into you, i did not see you their....which is unusual" she said disturbed by the fact that she had ran directly into someone. "Are you a mutant?" she asked causally, knowing the other female could see her aura around her. She felt bad about having run into the girl, though she knew she would feel musch better about it, if the girl were some mere human.
Seyta realized standing in front of the girl was a mistake as they collided. Whatever that aurora like power was hurt as Seyta fell back hitting the ground allot harder than she has expected. "S*** that hurt!" Groaning as she sat up she looked herself over, a few scratches and the beginnings of a nasty headache but otherwise she was fine. Her violin on the other hand... Where was it? Seyta suddenly became aware that she had dropped her precious instrument and completely forgot the girl for a moment as she searches the sidewalk. Finding it just behind her Seyta sighed in relief as she checked it for harm. By sheer luck it had landed on the chin pad and tuning keys, relatively easy and safe fixes. Picking it up and turned her attention back to the girl just in time to hear her speak.
>> "I am sorry. How hard did I fall?"
"Not as hard as me thanks to your personal lazer show there..." She scowled slightly taking the girls hand and stood up. Wincing slightly as she rolled her shoulders Seyta decided she needed a bathroom to check her back for any scrapes as well.
>>"My name is Aura, and yours?"
"Uh-hu, Aura... You make the two dumb***** run into me, ruining my music, then you tackle me to the ground and expect to just smile and make it all better?" Seyta's scowl deepened as she crossed her arms staring at the girl. Hopefully she could bluff the girl into submission in someway. She really didn't want to be on the receiving end of whatever happened to the two men.
>>"I am sorry i ran into you, i did not see you their....which is unusual. Are you a mutant?"
Her scowl softened slowly, something about being right outside the Sanctuary with this girl, and the way she asked is Seyta was a mutant made Sey think twice about pressing her luck. "Call me Seyta, and yes I am. Also, you might find it unusual, its daily life for me." She sighed looking at Aura. She wasn't about to press her luck again but Seyta wasn't going to let Aura just walk away from ruining her otherwise pleasant day. "Knocking me down isn't what I'm all upset about kid. Seems to me that those guys were running from you, so... It's your fault my performance was ruined, and sorry doesn't really cover that in my book." Seyta walked over to where her violin case was kicked and picked up her few earnings there and put her violin away. Turning back to Aura she raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms waiting for an answer and hoping the few seconds to get her case wasn't long enough for her powers to clear her from Aura's mind.
Aura considered all the information she had just received, the woman was clearly angry and she was a mutant. Aura did feel bad about running into the mutant woman and wanted to find away to make up for it, though she was unsure as to how. "Yes, my Aura can become quite hard, it protects me" she said though the description of her Aura was a new one. Still she understood her Aura could hurt if somone was hit by it, she was lucky she did not have a blad eout at the time.
"Though i do not about your book, since you are a mutant, i can compensate you for the trouble i have caused. We get human's from time to time who wish to cause us harm, normally their quite easy to scare off. Sanctuary allows no humans within you see as many of our kind have very sad stories becuse of them." she said her voice did littile to hide her disdain for humans in general. "It really is a shame they got away though, they just looked at me and well...." she said with a sigh of disappointment.
Aura's attention wavered again, but she barely managed to maintain her focus on Seyta. Aura saw the money in the case and understood suddenly what the problem might be. "Please come with me, If i have prevented you from gathering money, i can compensate you, or at least give you a place to clean up. I Live at sanctuary" she explained hoping this would help the lady. "Can i ask what your power is?" she said and as she did she raised her hand in front of her, and quickly formed an axe with her aura, then reformed it, into a sword and then an ice cream scoop, all with fluid wate rlike motion of the pink energy that flowed around her.
Seyta listened to Aura explain herself. She didn't seem too bad, though looks could be deceiving. The fact she was a mutant made a difference to Aura as well, Sey could hear it in her voice. Still the obvious dislike for humanity was annoying, as was humanity's dislike for mutants. Her own family advocated for mutant rights even though they were all human. She nodded slowly thinking Aura's statement over and shrugged. "True, but we've caused issues for them too. It's not an even match, but what most mutants are calling defense is just proving humans opinions of us."
Still listening Seyta counted out what money she had made and stuck it in her pocket, 13 dollars and 18 cents, not the worst she had done. Either way she still had her paycheck coming in this week, this was just a little extra pocket money. Shouldering her case she looked back to Aura, unsure what to expect from her as an apology.
>>"Please come with me, If i have prevented you from gathering money, i can compensate you, or at least give you a place to clean up. I Live at sanctuary. Can i ask what your power is?"
"Thanks, I could use a few band aids..." Seyta jumped back a few feet as she saw Aura form an axe followed by a sword, she relaxed seeing the sword turn into an ice cream scoop and smiled. The girl was smart, a little rough but smart. "That is a good apology, as long as you have chocolate raspberry. As for my power..." Seyta rolled her eyes glaring at the world, God, Darwin, whoever was to blame for mutations. She sighed shaking her head. "I'm a blank spot, thats why you ran into me. Unless you're trying to, you can't pay attention to me, it really sucks. Honestly I'd rather be human than stay stuck with this power."
"I myself have little love for humanity, you see my parents were human, i was in a fist fight when my Aura manifested, i went to punch the girl in the stomach, instead my powers formed a sword and cut her spine in to. The humans locked me away for a long time, but i was rescued and spent a long time fighting humans in the woods. However the humans eventually killed each of them. I still hear the sound of morter and automatic weapon fire some nights" she said, though she seemed more sad the events had happened then upset. "I was trained to fight and so my responses to humans like that can be aggressive" she went on.
"well i am sorry to hear you say that, your power is as beautiful as you yourself. I would not mind it, as their are many great things one can do with it. you would make an excellent spy for example or a good field medic. People can't pay attention to you if they don't know your thare?" she said trying to cheer the girl up, with her own limited understanding of the woman's powers. "Heck i am normelly very good at knowing my surrounding's and i failed to notice you" she said which was very unuseual.
"I would rather be dead then without my powers, of course the humans wish i were dead anyway" she said though the idea of humanity killing her amused her. She guided the woman to the doors and opened them, revealing the large foyer of sanctuary. "Still sanctuary gets those with all sort's of views on humans and......" she stopped looked at the woman with a large grin. "Actually i know a mutant who might be able to help you out, her power is to make our powers not work. The effect is only a radius thing, but it may make you more comfertable" she said. SHe pointed to a bathroom
>> "...and so my responses to humans like that can be aggressive"
Seyta listened politely, Aura had been through allot for being so young. She felt sorry for her actually, not an uncommon thing for Seyta though. Going through that sounded horrible. Why people couldn't just realize mistakes and get over themselves frustrated Seyta to no end. Wars had their place, but the Nazi-like feud between mutants and humans was pointless in her mind.
>> "...an excellent spy for example or a good field medic. People can't pay attention to you if they don't know your thare?"
"Maybe, but I want to be a musician, load of good this power will do me. Since I can't control it I can't turn it off." She grinned thinking for a bit. She wasn't a fighter but Aura made a good point she would do really well given the proper training. She toyed with the idea in her head for a bit but shrugged it off, who would she work for, with her ability she couldn't even get a job as a spy. Being a medic on the other hand... no she couldn't do that. Definitely not her thing, the smell of any kind of doctor stuff, was just gross, all that sterile stuff. "Nope, even if they do know im there, once they get in range, if they aren't paying attention in the first place they never will unless i do something to get it. Waving and saying hi to them isn't enough either, I need to be drastic, lie making them tackle me."
>> "Still sanctuary gets those with all sort's of views on humans and...... Actually i know a mutant who might be able to help you out, her power is to make our powers not work. The effect is only a radius thing, but it may make you more comfortable"
Seyta nodded listening as she stepped into the Sanctuary, the light glaring of the golden doors for a moment. That same feeling of a dark mood that needed to be brightened came over her. She nodded to Aura looking intrigued at the idea of someone canceling out her powers as she headed for the bathroom Aura pointed out to her.
