The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"No, I think that'll be all. This'll get addressed during the meeting, and as soon as I'm above ground I'll do a scan of the grounds and the city for her. If that doesn't turn anything up, we'll have to try searching for her car... but that's for after the meeting. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we'll find her."

"Cool. I'll check back if I haven't heard from her in another twenty-four hours."
She turned as if getting ready to leave, then paused. She glanced back at Mike, her expression both impertinent and bored.
"By the way, this is what Rayne looks like." A picture of Iris popped up next to the car, looking exactly like Crystal, but with a much nicer and kinder smile. "You, uh, forgot to ask that."
With a final smirk and wink she snapped her fingers, and vanished from the room in a flurry of sparks.
"I didn't know you used to live there. If you must know, I didn't think it would bode well to show up galavanting who we were. I have some inside information about Dorian King that you don't need to concern yourself with. Do you have an issue with the X-Men or something? You seem like you have a problem. Why did you leave King's place?" Tricity was annoyed with him now and something had told her he would continue to be this way from the other times they'd spoken. This kid really thought he was hot shit and knew every thing there was... ever...

Kaz raised his arms. "I'm just letting you know, with the mansion and Xmen's reputation, it would have been better just to approach them honestly." Sighing. "I don't have a problem with you guys. In fact the opposite. I respect what you're trying to do. Of course I only know that in a general sense. I just...don't see how you'll accomplish any of it. At least not for a LONG time." Kaz shrugged. "I left because I wanted to see how others do things. Though here and at Sanc, it's very similar. Cept there it's more secretive to protect the mutants within. And Dorian has already told us a lot about himself, he doesn't hide much. It's the best way to be trusted." Offhandedly, "Besides how could I hate or have a problem with the people Nicki admire and look up to?"
"All right, well we are going to start our meeting now. If I have any more questions about the Sanctuary maybe you can team up with some of the others and head over there or something. I'll talk to you later..." she nodded to him and went back through the door into the War Room where everyone's attention seemed to be toward the hologram.
She just caught the end of what it was saying and Tricity realized it wasn't Iris, but a hologram which looked like her. Tricity was briefed on Iris not returning to the mansion in quite some time. She sighed and sat back down. "Let's make sure we look into where Iris may have been last and find out where she's gone to. Hopefully she's fine and this is all a misunderstanding." She looked down the table where Dominic, Fade, and Raphael were sitting. "These three went to Dorian King's new institute where he's letting in mutants. I learned from Xavier that he may not be one to trust and sent a small group in. Can you guys tell us what you found, please?"
((*watches as everyone runs off...getting covered in dust, but catches up and continues on*))
Fade sat down quitely and continued to play with her necklace after rolling her eyes at the stupid intruder. She nodded at Deathstar with a smile and then did the same with the others. It hadn't really dawned on her that Mike was back. It would, but later on. She watched the random hologram with interest as it spoke to the group of a character named Iris. It disappeared after a few minutes and Tricity walked into the War Room again and mentioned that Fade, Wire, and Raph went to the Sanctuary.
"Well, what I found was quite odd. I went searching through the Sanctuary, couldn't really find anything until I found something in one of the trash cans that lead to some King Perichunigals," She paused before smiling awkwardly "Sorry, I have no clue how to pronounce it." With that, she rubbed the back of her neck but shrugged it off and continued telling what she had seen.
"So, I found the place and managed to sneak into some secret downstairs area and let me just say, weird. There were cells of some kind, mutants inside of them. I couldn't see who they were and I had to sneak my way back out, apparently they had heat sensors." She sat up straight as she finished off. "Now, what kind of place has a secret area away from their large housing area that has holding cells and heat sensors? I don't like these Sanctuarians. Then again, it could be something the character that I raided their trash was involved in, but I think it is deeper. I don't like them, I don't trust them. They're hiding something from the world." A quick pause. "I just wish I could have figured out whether or not those mutants in cells were there for a reason, like a crime within a gang or being held their against their will, but by their reactions towards the soft tapping of my feet, I guessed they wanted out."
Tricity was afraid of that and now she wondered if any of the mutants from the school had been taken. She ruffled through her over-the-shoulder bag and found her attendance clipboard. She noticed Iris hadn't checked in in the same amount the hologram had said. "Fade, did any of the mutants in the cells look like the hologram? Like Iris?"
(OOC: The answer should be yes on this Fade. maybe not an absolute yes, but some agreement nonetheless. We're gonna connect this as a reason to head back to KP again.)
Fade stopped all movement as she looked up and to the right, trying to remember if she saw anyone that looked like the hologram. She did recognize the hologram, but she didn't know if the real person was one of the mutants in the cells. Suddenly, her eyes shot open and she looked over at Tricity. "As a matter-of-fact, I did see a mutant that I recognized there, but I couldn't put a name or location to her, I couldn't talk to her because I was being tracked, but I definately now recognize her. I've seen her around the mansion before, they've taken a student?" She looked upset and guilty. Guilty because she couldn't do anything to help the poor girl, what were they doing to her down there?
Tricity closed her eyes and felt guilt run over her. "We need to move out as soon as possible. I'm coming this mission... along with everyone else to King's Pharmaceuticals. Yes, everyone. I'll have a few babysitters from the first school come and stay here for added protection while we're away. Fade and Cass will help lead the way with their mutations and Daria can hopefully teleport everyone out of the cells or I can short circuit the electricity to open the doors. Although... perhaps shutting off the power to the cell doors is always a possibility. We don't have much information about this place, so we are going in rather blind. I'm sure everyone can understand that we don't have much choice." Tricity sat back in the chair and sighed. "Any questions?"

((OOC: I'm a bit lost, maybe it was done like this to move the plot along but HOW did Fade get into the underground area? Seeing as every way to get into it you need a passcode that only members of the Order know and have. As well as the locked areas such as the holding cells.))
Kaz nodded to Tricity a she headed into the room and the doors closed. He waited a minute or two before he moved towards the door. Setting his ear against it he closed his eyes and focused his world to just sound. It wasn't hard to hear through this door, Kaz picked up nearly every word clearly. Kaz had heard enough. He took a few steps away from the door then disappeared. His speed moving him faster than they eye could follow, he made his way up and out of the mansion. Jumping, he cleared the gate and wall easily by over 20 ft. When he landed he sprinted off again, faster than he had been moving before.
((For the plots sake, there had to be some way to find out what was going on. Also, since I did not roleplay the part where Fade entered the areas, we are left to image that she happened to follow someone in or get in through a vent. I understand what you are doing, however, in order to get the plot going, we have to twist somethings, just a little bit in order for it to start otherwise the X-Men would have no reason to fight. Please stop being a side critic for my posts as they are necessary for our cause. Also, hearing through the War Room door? Highly unlikely, but like I said, for plotsake, we'll just have to go with it so that both sides are prepared for battle. Thank you and I hope that I did not come across harshly, no ill-intent was meant to be transmitted. Shall we continue the plot?))
Fade merely nodded and stood up. She knew what she needed to do, knew how she was to handle this. She moved over to her new X-Man uniform and grabbed it before turning invisible and proceeding to put it on, leaving the changing areas for all of those that could shield themselves with their mutation. After she had the uniform on, a rush of purpose flooded her. She was going on her first mission as an X-Man and she got to look like one as well. She took a step forward and felt the leather sqeeze against her skin, it was quite hard to move around in, so she stretched herself out, making the leather more manueverable until it was good enough for her to be running around, climbing walls and what not. With that, she turned visible and made her way to the door, waiting for her next order.
It was time to pay them back. Her guilt would finally be set free once she saw Iris and the others escape their cells. However, she couldn't run this operation out of wishing to relieve her guilt, she had to do it professionally and unemotional or she would fail. So she took a deep breath and rubbed her necklace again, calming herself down before the battle.
Calley flicked a paw idly at his collar, then stopped himself with a start. He thought about the question Hunter had asked him—he really did—but in the end he meowed softly once, and set off down the hall at a silent lope that quickly took him to the door. No, he couldn’t use the key hidden in his collar’s name tag to open it—that would require opposable thumbs and a certain height advantage, and such things required being human. Calley really didn’t have another shift left in him. And he didn't think it was a good idea to just calmly let himself in on their meeting, even if he could have. He settled with his back to the door, and started grooming, his ears swiveled back the slightest bit. He looked every bit the contented, lounging cat. Really, he was thinking: I hate doors. He couldn’t hear a peep. What was this thing made of? Hopefully the Scary Boss Man was picking something up through the audio receivers on his collar—maybe he could enhance the sound, somehow, back in the lab. Every snooping bone in Calley’s body really, really wanted to hear what was going on in there.
That’s about when the door opened enthusiastically and without warning, swatting him half-way across the hall. Calley leapt to his feet and hissed after the woman who’d emerged, keeping his head out of the way of the bell camera’s view. He paced irately across the hall, sullenly sat down, and got back to grooming as he waited for the rest of the room’s occupants to smile for the camera. His ears were flat and his eyes were narrowed to slits. I really hate doors.
If anyone checked his collar, they'd just find the name Calley written in fancy script across the little white and black cat's silver tag. No need for a return address: if anything went wrong, there wouldn't be a collar or a Calley left for anyone to check. To anyone in the bunch with a sensitive nose, Calley would smell like a normal housecat. To a telepath, all of his surface thoughts would be revolving around his extreme hatred for doors, that woman, and collars. His irresistible urge to groom every last one of his hairs back into its set location was a pretty big thought, too. If they delved deeper, they might be able to find out he was really a mutant, if they were familiar with the way true cats thought—his thought patterns were one of the few things that didn’t change when he shifted. They might even find traces of his annoyance at the medical world and all men who were scary, but it would be a true masterpiece of mind-reading to make anymore sense than that out of Calley’s mind; even his subconscious leapt topics like a bored ADHD child.
He did not have ADHD. And he wasn’t an obsessive-compulsive groomer.
...He kept grooming.
((ooc: Note: I read your post a little wrong, Fade, and thought you'd already left the room. I'll modify this if need be, but it seems like whatever else is about to happen in the War Room and whoever's out that door first, Calley would probably still be gettin' swatted. ))
((it's OK, I don't mind her rushing out of the door. I just want to say one thing, you have got to be like one of the funniest rp'ers out there. I LOVE reading your posts because Calley is just so funny. *clicks 'The X-Men' button*))
Deathstar nodded back to Fade with a silent hello, she remained silent as Tricity gave the briefing and stormed up some questions on her own. "What about this Jack girl, Do you think she is being held without her will as well?", she paused for moment for any answers anyone can give her. "I think I'm gonna need a uniform as well" she said silently to tricity
Mike contemplated making a 'what, you don't want to go on the mission naked?' comment at Deathstar... for some reason, he always fell back on joking around whenever he was nervous about a mission... and after his last real mission, it was fairly understandable. Granted, he couldn't see himself ending up in another coma after this one, but the nerves were still there.
Instead, he took a deep breath and went back to business mode. "Is there anything, ANYTHING else we know about security at this place? Were any guards or weapon systems seen, or even signs of guards or weapon systems?"
