The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Gina wouldn't really call it studying geometry-- a more apt way to put it would be staring intensely at her book, hoping that some psychic mutant would realize that she didn't know what she was doing and, in knowing geomerty, aid her in solving the problem. No such luck. She let her head hit the book with a hollow thud, emitting a low groan. An opened can of soda was beside her, fizzling invitingly.
"Geometry's gonna be the death of me," she murmured, to one of the others in the kitchen. The approach of unfamiliar voices made her look up, and part of her was very glad that she had. Two young men entered the room, neither of them hard on the eyes, and both of whom were taller than her. (Though such a feat was not difficult for a man to achieve.) One was an African Americna guy with close shaved hair and a beaming face. New guy, for his expression was far too... giddy... to be on the face of a person who'd already been here. Unless he was always happy which, though unnerving, would be perfectly fine, too. The other was a caucasian guy, with hazel eyes, and dark hair. He was obviously familiar with the place, as he was giving the African American man the tour, but Gina didn't recognize either of them, and neither boy was visibly mutated.
A distraction, Gina thought with excitement, snapping the geometry book shut so that her notes and homework were bookmarking the page. Any excuse to not do geometry. And, they're cute excuses, to boot. Excellent. She could use a tour anyways. She'd already been here a few months, and still managed to get very lost without fail. It could be useful.
"The day we get a private chef, I'm gonna put on some pounds," Gina smiled, patting her stomach with emphasis. She approached the two young men assuredly, gaze shifting between them. Her outfit today consisted of green-and-black striped leggings, a poofy purple skirt, and a turquoise t-shirt that simply read I'm Not Short, I'm Fun-Sized. Her hair was pulled back so that it was out of the way while she studied, a few strands escaping around her hairline, and her ears and horns blatantly visible against the tightly-restrained hair.
"The name is Regina Schuyler, but I prefer Gina," Gina recited, proffering her hand for a handshake to each of the young men in-turn, "How do you do?"
((OOC: I hope you do not mind if I toss Gina into this, do you, Tasean? I think I asked you before, but my memory likes to play tricks on me.))

Andrew was just about to shoot down Tasean's comment about private chefs, and maybe challenge him to try some of his baking before he thought that the people at the mansion weren't spoiled. That however was interrupted before it could even begin by one of the students getting up and introducing herself. Regina Schuyler she called herself but insisted that she preferred Gina. Andrew smiled at her and shook her hand.
"Andrew Leroy. I'm doing well. Just showing Tasean here around. Part of the duties of a greeter you know."
Being as she was studying she was obviously a student there and would understand. He gave her a quick look over. She wasn't too bad off as far as visible mutations went. There were probably goths and movie make up artists out there that would kill for horns and ears as 'realistic' as hers. He wondered precisely what her mutation entailed but Andrew figured that one of a few things would happen: Tasean would ask her about her mutation, she'd volunteer the information along the course of the conversation, or he'd just look it up in the files later. Andrew guessed that was a perk to working as a greeter and Sam's assistant.

Tasean looked at the speaker in awe. He listened as Andrew explained who they were and what they were doing. Tasean stared at the girl, especially her horns.
"Hot" he said. He then stood beside Andrew and bowed low to the person who introduced herself as Gina. "Tasean Walker at your service madame." he said, mirth dripping from every word.
He stood up, trying hard not to be impolite and stare at the girl, but this was something straight out of a science fiction book, and Tasean loved Anne McCaffrey and Mercedes Lackey books. He wanted desperately to ask her what it was she could do, but decided against it. Those horns and hands looked like they could do some damage if he offended her. He decided to do what came natural to him, make people laugh, to hide his excitement and inquisitiveness.
Heput his arm playfully around Andrew's shoulders. "Yeah, my friend Kenny Ray here is showing me around this fine establishment." Tasean said and began to laugh. "He wants to be a greeter at the Smithsonian, so I told him I would help him work on his skills"

"Andrew Leroy. I'm doing well. Just showing Tasean here around. Part of the duties of a greeter you know."
"I figured just as much," Gina smiled, "Mind if I tag along?" One of her study partners warningly uttered her name from the table, but their was a laugh fringing their tone. They knew that Gina wasn't going to return to studying anytime soon. Even if he said no, she'd still tag along anyways, she'd just do so surreptitiously.
The other boy, Tasean, gawked at her. She was used to gawking, but she still arched an eyebrow at him and smirked. There really was no two ways about her mutation. She couldn't hide much of anything, and so she stood there in her winged glory, a hand raising to rest on a torqued hip.
"Hot," the guy uttered absently. That took Gina by surprise. Her smile didn't fade, but her eyes widened a fraction. Hot? Well, he didn't beat around the bush, did he?
"Taesan Walker at your service madame," he finally introduced himself, giving a theatrical bow. Gina did a curtsey in reply, though not nearly as convincing. Such a goof, she thought, her tail curling at its tip in amusement. He's cool, though. I like him. She liked both of them, really, but no one had ever expressed Tasean's sentiment so blatantly before.
"Yeah, my friend Kenny Ray here is showing me around this fine establishment. He wants to be a greeter at the Smithsonian, so I told him I would help him work on his skills."
"The Smithsonian?" Gina echoed in interest, tilting her gaze at Andrew for validation. Tasean was laughing as he spoke, so she didn't know if he was joking. She'd never been good at discerning when people were kidding or when they were being serious, and so it was common for her to check. She glanced back at Tasean, "You aren't pulling my leg, are you?"

Andrew shrugged. It was no matter to him if she tagged along.
"Come along if ya want."
He chuckled as Tasean seemed to fall all over himself. It was so foreign to him to be that excited about mutations and meeting other mutants. Tasean made a smart comment about Andrew wanting to work at the Smithsonian and Andrew glared at him playfully.
"Hardly. He's just fooling. I don't think I'll be leaving here for a while."
There was always the chance that he might end up leaving at some point. Andrew wasn't going to discount it. However he was content where he was. For now he leaned against the wall. They would get moving again whenever Tasean and Gina were ready.

Tasean'es sparkled with mirth and joy as he looked back and forth between Gina and Andrew. He enjoyed laughter and loved making other people laugh. Gina might look different, but Tasean didn't mind at all. She seemed like a nice girl that he could laugh with, and that was all that mattered to Tasean.
"Oh yes please do join us Gina" he said smiling. "Three's a party I always say; and life is no fun if you can't make it a party." Tasean began to laugh again, winking at the other students in the kitchen.
"So Gina, how long have you been here?" Tasean asked casually before he picked up an apple of a kitchen counter before looking to Andrew to lead the way.

Gina nodded to Andrew to show that she wanted to tag along, trying not to let her expression decieve her disappointment in the fact that he didn't aspire to work at the Smithsonian. Though, he did have a point. If he already worked here, why look elsewhere?
She trailed along with them as they began to turn to leave the kitchen. One of Gina's study partners waved as they left, a couple giggled as Tasean winked, but other than that, no one acknowledged their departure.
Gina smiled as they exited back into the hallway, keeping her gaze steadily trained on Andrew so that she knew where to go, but keeping tags on where Tasean was as well.
"So Gina, how long have you been here?"
"A couple of months," Gina replied, stepping into the hall, "I enrolled in December, just before winter break. It's a fantastic place-- loads better than homeschooling, anyways. And the people here are really... chill." Tasean carried himself differently than a teenager would, yet his face was very young. Gina was close to asking him if he was looking to enroll, but realized that, if he wasn't as young as he looked, he might get offended.

It seemed they were ready to go. Andrew led them onward, even though the next stop was just a few short steps down the hallway. Tasean and Gina talked about how long she'd been at the mansion meanwhile. She'd been there since December apparently and Andrew hadn't met her. That wasn't all that surprising. There were a lot of people in this mansion that he hadn't actually met. There were far too many people here to get to know in the scant amount of time he'd resided here. Apparently she liked the place. That was good. Andrew motioned to the doorway that led to the living room.
"I'm glad you like it here Gina." Andrew flashed her a smile, "Here's the living room."
He wasn't one for big show. Half the time Andrew had no idea what to say so he generally let the place speak for him. Tasean would ask his questions as he needed to and Andrew would do his best to answer. Andrew wandered into the room and plopped down on one of the couches near the tv. His feet landed on one arm rest and his head on the other.
"Good place to hang out and the couches are pretty comfy too."

Tasean walked into the living room area and looked around. It was pretty big and looked lived in, which was always a comforting sight. Tasean hated to go into a house were it looked like no one ever touched anything. Too neat and too clean house freaked him out.
Tasean sat down on the opposite end of the couch from Andrew. Truth be told, he was more interested in learning about the people of the Mansion, and life here more than taking any tour of the Mansion. Tasean was a social creature, and the idea that he would be able to socialize with mutants was like gold him.
Tasean leaned back leisurely on the couch, grinning from ear to ear at Andrew and Gina.
"So other than taking classes and whatever, what else goes on here? I mean the students can't be learning all the time" he said, looking more to Gina than Andrew for the answer.

"Very comfy," Gina agreed, bobbing her head. She wandered over the couch and sat on the far arm rest from where Andrew was sprawled, setting her book beside her, "My favorite studying area." Gina never liked studying at desks. She always wandered elsewhere to less conventional areas. Like the kitchen, or the living room.
"So other than taking classes and whatever, what else goes on here? I mean the students can't be learning all the time," Taesan inquired. Gina leaned back, anchoring herself down with her hands without using her claws.
"Um, normal stuff, I suppose," Gina answered, "There's a group of kids that like to play video games on the t.v. And we hang out and all. I don't really know.--" she glanced at Andrew for clarification. Did they have school sports, or clubs of any sort? She'd never found out, "I mean, I like to take myself out on excursions around the city, and do some handicrafts, in my spare time. But... everyone does different things."

Andrew raised an eyebrow at Tasean's grin. The man was enjoying this far more than he should have. However Andrew remembered how special and amazing the place had seemed when he'd first come so he'd let it slide. Gina took the first crack at Tasean's next question. She was pretty much correct in her answer too.
"Gina's got the right of it. It's pretty much do as you please around here. Well, as long as what you please is legal and not too harmful. Gemma wasn't best pleased when I brought home a drunk man and left him on the couch."
Mat had apparently been minutes from having his face drawn on when he woke up the following morning. Andrew smirked. That would have been quite a sight.
"I think I should add 'and no corrupting the youth' but I think some of them do a good enough job of that on their own."

Tasean opened his eyes wide and gasped in feigned shock. "No corrupting the youth? Why whatever do you do with them if you don't corrupt them?" He began to laugh again
He looked around at the walls of the living room. He thought about how big the place was, and how rowdy he was as a teen, how rowdy he was too this day. A bunch of teens, mutants or not, living in this place. Oh there was definitely some stuff going on behinds the scenes.
"The things I could do in this place" Tasean thought to himself.
Out loud he simply muttered. "If these walls could talk" he said before turning to give a sly smirk and wink at Gina.
Tasean lounged back even deeper into the couch getting comfortable. This time he looked to Andrew to answer his question. "So who run's this place? I mean who is like the Principal or Headmaster or whatever you call it here."

Andrew grinned at Tasean.
"Use them for target practice? Get a good chuckle out of it when they embarrass themselves?"
At Tasean's comment about the walls talking Andrew laughed.
"You know we probably have a mutant around here that could do that."
At the question about the headmaster or principal Andrew shrugged. He hadn't really met any headmaster or anything like that. He hadn't done much to try and understand the power structure here. The idea of trying to learn wasn't too appealing either. Sam was his boss and he pretty much did anything anyone else asked of him anyway.
"You know I don't rightly know. Sam Johnson, my boss, seems to have a fair bit of responsibility but fact being I haven't seen or met a Headmaster or Principal."
With that Andrew shrugged again.
"But I'm just a Secretary and Door Jockey/Tour Guide."

Tasean gave Andrew a quizzical look. He didn't understand how you had a school, but no set principal. That was kind of weird to Tasean, but then again this was a school for mutants, so maybe it operated different from a regular school.
He sat up, resting his for arms on his thigh looking back and forth between Andrew and Gina.
"So Tour Guide Barbie and Ken; where too next?" he asked.
Tasean was definitely enjoying the talk, and planned on continuing it, but he was also interested in seeing what else this mansion had to offer, and possibly meeting some more mutant.
"Are there any non-mutants here?" he asked, the question suddenly popping into his head as he thought of the other people who must live and learn here.

"Barbie and Ken?!" Gina echoed, snorting back a laugh and smiling. It wasn't that she minded the analogy, but Barbie was tall, blonde, and built like a supermodel. Gina was short, with unmanageable dark hair, and built like a teenager. She wasn't really a tour guide, either-- she barely knew her way around here.
She didn't know about nonmutants. Maybe kids that had an inactive gene, but not a flatout human. She looked to Andrew once again. He'd been around a little longer than she had, and was probably better-suited to answer such a question.
