The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"No. I haven't tried it. I have been recently trying hard to improve on my metallic powers that I haven't moved on to trying other things."
Neena nodded, pecking away at a smaller screen off to the side as he spoke. ”Good to hear you’re practicing. So many don’t, relying on the chaos factor, which can only take you so far, so long. It will be interesting to see what else you might develop.” She paused to grin at him. ”Something like stone, or crystal would be a treat to see.”
She turned back to the screen, and a moment later made an approving ‘hmm’ing noise. ”This looks interesting. Let’s try that. Activate gargoyle garden.”
The Danger Room again went through a scene change, this time to something a tad bit on the ‘black-and-white horror flick’ side. What could have easily passed for a cemetary, minus the gravestones, began to take shape, complete with darkness and fog, scraggly trees and cobwebs. ”Oh, lovely...” Neena remarked aloud after that last development. Instead of headstones, a variety of large stones, pillars and rotting tree trunks dotted the landscape. Atop those were a total of ten stone gargoyles, some with wings, some without, frozen and, so far, lifeless.
Neena raised an eyebrow. ”Not exactly what I’d call a garden, but.... She tapped a few more keys, then blanked out the screen and turned to Mettaliar.
”Okay, this will will test both your brain and brawn, in a way. Somewhere down there is a red, cat’s eye crystal, the size of a golf ball. Your job is to find it, plain and simple. There’s actually several ways to go about finding it. Naturally, they will try and stop you. The trick is, you can’t destroy them. If you crush them, they’ll simply reform and redouble their efforts. Also they are self-learning, so they’ll be watching the way you fight. You also have a ten-minute time limit. Sound good?”

Mettaliar threw Neena's staff to the side and looked up as the scene around him changed again. He sighed as suddenly he sensed it being around nighttime. He looked around as he felt an eerie vibe coming from the area. He sighed and listened as Neena gave him instructions on this whole "search for the sacred icon" style simulation. He slightly smiled as she mentioned the toughness of the gargoyles. This would be very interesting, but he wanted to make it a bit more interesting.
"I'll give you your twenty back if it takes longer than 5 minutes." he shouted aloud.
He decided to set out and look around. He checked under some bushes and looking around some areas. While looking he started to think about how to fight off these killer gargoyles that were mentioned.

"I'll give you your twenty back if it takes longer than 5 minutes."
"How 'bout double or nothing?" Neena laughed to herself. At this rate she was going to gain a reputation as both a gambler and a drunk. Ah, well. What fun was a normal teacher anyway?
She watched him start the search. Curiously, she blinked, and scanned the area to spot the stone herself. She wasn't surprised at its location, but curious as to how Mett would get to it.
Inside the simulation, the gargoyles remained stone-still. It wasn't until he leaned over to check one of the bushes that one of them came to life. It was one of the wingless statues. It was already crouched on the ground, so it simply began creeping toward Mett from behind.

Mettaliar laughed as he heard the bet increase. He shrugged his shoulders and decided to keep it going. Who knows, he just might win.
"Deal. Hope you have forty bucks on you." he said aloud. After checking under a bush, he go up and turned around. Just in time to catch a gargoyle moving towards him. He froze in place and tilted his head. He figured he'd let the thing attack him before he made any moves. Cautiously, he moved around the thing, keeping his staff pointed at the gargoyle and moved backwards, keeping his eyes keen on looking for this magical stone.

Apparently the rock dog didn't like having things pointed at it. It snarled, and jumped forward to latch onto the wooden staff, attempting to crush it in its stone jaws. After that it attacked the staff weilder. Built like a giant bulldog, it leapt forward at Mett's chest, talons extended, aiming for his throat.
