The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mettaliar saw her fall and twist upward with him. He noticed her face squint with a bit of pain. This made Mettaliar smile lightly, as it showed his training had gone great. He stood up slowly and eyed her movements, waiting for her to attack again. He spun his staff into position and cracked his neck again.
"So, have you anything else to lecture me on?" he asked jokingly.

"So, have you anything else to lecture me on?"
Neena laughed, and shook her head. "No, no lectures. I can see I'm outclassed in the staff area, and your reflexes are not lacking in speed. Though if you keep cracking your neck like that, you're liable to develop arthritis later," she added in a teasing tone as she straightened up.
"And now that I've risked revealing my age, let's try something a little different. Activate stealth rock garden." As she walked over to retrieve her dropped staff, the surrounding scenery went through a massive overhaul. Rocks began appearing out of nowhere, ranging in size from pebble shards that covered the floor, to boulders well over fifteen feet in height and width standing like lone guardians. The shards that now covered the ground made a grating noise with every move, and shifted beneath their footsteps, sinking in with excess pressure put upon them, like soft earth would do. It was an unsteady playing field, to put it mildly.
She walked back to Mett, rocks crunching beneath her feet, and handed him back the staff. ”Hang on just a sec, I’ll be right back. Tagging outfit please, for Neena.” She headed back toward the Observation Room. One of the lockers popped open as she entered, revealing a black vest, about as thick as a sweater, and a matching set of pants. Also there was a metallic armband. She slipped the vest over her shirt, then changed pants quickly. Taking the armband, she then returned to the main room, rocks again crunching beneath her feet.
”Okay, sorry ‘bout that. Here ya go.” She handed him the band, and motioned for him to put it on. ”Okay, that’s a visual cloaking band. And this lovely fashion statement is a tagging set. This time we’re going to see how good of a thief you are.” She held up a twenty dollar bill, then stuck in her pocket. ”If you can take it from me, you can keep it. You can use any weapons you’d like. The outfit is specifically made to protect, so don’t worry about any hits you may make. They’ll be recorded by the suit; any hit you make will ‘tag’ me, neon orange. I won’t be using any special powers or weapons to stop you, just my five senses and my reflexes.”
She vaulted to the top of one of the boulders and stood there, a perfect target. She would be easy to tag, but not so easy to get a hold of without her knowing it. She waited for him to activate the band an begin.

Mettaliar listened to her next task as he took a look at the armband and smiled. This was something he had always wanted to do, and now he had a chance to test how much he knew. He watched as she stood atop the boulder as a target. He rolled his necks to get the kinks out and tilted his head, putting the armband on and disappearing from sight. He twirled his staff around and looked to see if there was any reaction from her. As he could see no visible reaction, he smiled. While he knew it wouldn't be easy, he did know it would be fun.
Mettaliar stood for about a minute, thinking about the possibilities of how to distract her, which was going to be the only way to keep her from noticing his movements. He had an idea, making a rather large knife in his hand, while also coating the staff with a metallic coat. He noticed two rocks that were rather loose from their faces. He took the staff and threw it, rather awkwardly, at one bolder to his left. Using his spinning momentum, he took hold of the knife in a throwing fashion and threw it at the other rock, which was right behind him. Once both hit, they created a scene of a small rock fall, equipped with a natural silencer as the rocks tumbled. Once the noise started, Mettaliar charged towards the bolder that Neena was standing on, stopping once the sound did. As he stopped he checked to see how Neena had reacted.

Neena crouched atop the boulder as Mettaliar disappeared from sight. She let her eyelids droop, her gaze focused, yet unfocused, on the ground just below her.
She thought she could hear the sound of him twirling his staff, but as the computer had added a bit of a breeze to the sim, she wasn't sure.
There was a dull clang off to her right; metal hitting stone. Then another off to her left, similar but louder, as well as smaller rocks spilling downward. She kept her gaze forward, letting her ears do the work. Once she identified the rocks falling, she tuned them out, listening for other sounds coming from the left or right.
Instead there was a very, very faint sound coming from straight on. But it stopped at the same time as the others stopped.

Mettaliar looked up and saw Neena sitting atop the bolder. She remained motionless and stared straight ahead. Mettaliar wasn't sure if she was listening closely or fell for the diversion. Mettaliar stood as still as possible and sighed softly. This was a bit harder if the opponent wouldn't show her thoughts and remained sitting. Mettaliar figured he would have to try another trick in order to proceed.
His mind immediately found the perfect way to test her reflexes and catch her attention as he moved closer. He created a small throwing knife again and instead kept his eyes dead on the teacher, sitting in her meditative state. He positioned the knife and aimed right for her body. As the knife was dull, he knew for a fact she would not be accedently kill her. He took aim and threw the knife, watching it sail towards Neena. As the knife got closer he slowly crept forwards in hope she would react. If she did, he would run and if not he would stay.

With her head down Neena didn't see the knife coming at her, but she heard it. Despite her special sight, she'd long ago learned not to rely solely on her eyes, as they could easily be fooled. The sound was faint, but it was enough to let her know which direction it came from.
She moved to the left a bit, letting her arms and legs slip out from beneath her as she went, landing flat on the boulder like a spider trying to make itself look bigger. The blade whizzed by, extremely close to her ear. She stayed there, ear to the rock, her semi-unfocused gaze now fixed on the area the knife had appeared from.
She kept her face blank, but inside she was highly enjoying herself. Now if only she could get an adrenaline rush going, then she'd be in heaven.

Mettaliar stopped once he had seen Neena dodge the knife in a way he wouldn't expect. What was worse was that now she had a general direction of where he was. Mettaliar had to find a way to make him think he was somewhere else, and fast. He quickly thought of a way to fake footsteps and smiled.
He created a whole bunch of knives and looked over towards the opposite end of the boulder. He quickly threw each knife in a general spot that would make it sound as if a person was walking there. To make it more noticeable, he saw a rock near the base of the boulder that was loose. With one final throw, he hit the rock and caused it to fall. With that, he continued to take a few steps closer. He was close to the bolder, and now he had to find a way up without making a sound.

<"Knife came from that direction, while footsteps came from over there. Either he can levitate those blades as he throws them, or....">
Neena ignored the footsteps off to the side after the first two sounds. Instead her gaze came into full focus on the ground in front of her, though she kept her eyes narrowed and ear to the rock.
A rock at the base of the boulder shifted, and she raised one eyebrow. Her steady gaze had seen what she needed to just before the rock fell. The shards on the nearby ground shifted slightly, spreading away from each other and forming a hollow. Or at least, what looked like a hollow.
Quickly she pulled herself up into a crouch again. Pausing a split second to gauge herself, she leapt off of the boulder like a frog, aiming for the area above the hollow in the ground where, she was guessing, Mettaliar was currently standing. She waited to feel either his solid form, or the unsteady rock floor. If it was the former, she would simply aim to knock him down, then run for the nearest boulder. If it was the latter, then she'd freeze in place.

Mettaliar looked as Neena got up from her position and looked around. He thought about ducking, the mere fact that he was invisible left there to be no reason to. He noticed Neena keep her attention on where he had thrown the knives and smiled. He figured the trick was working. He was about to move when he actually saw Neena jump in the air towards the knives. He paused and ran a bit closer to where she was about to land. Once she landed he would need to keep her there for a while in order for him to get that money.

<"Drat, missed..."> she thought to herself as she hit the ground on all fours, and froze in place. <"Next plan...">
She was an easy target for sure. If he was close enough he could reach out with moving his feet; if that was the case she wouldn't know until the last moment. Still, it took another skilled pickpocket to pick another pickpocket.
She waited, eyes down and half-closed again, ears listening closely.

Mettaliar stood still as he saw Neena remained in place. He remained still as well and breathed as lowly as possible. With being a few feet away from her, any sound he made would let her know if where he was. He couldn't move, but he had to get that money. It was more about pride than having money, however.
Mettaliar suddenly though of a crazy plan. He created another staff, yet attached a hook at the end. He thought it wouldn't work, but it was worth trying. He extended the staff to be able to reach Neena's pocket. He carefully reached the hook into her pocket and started to dig out the bill.

Neena's hand snapped up and back, grabbing onto the staff. She grinned.
"Uh uh uh!"
Straightening in a smooth move, she shoved the staff back in his direction. She felt the resistance; he wasn't too far from her, if he was the one holding the pole. Once she figured that out, she wrenched backwards to pull the staff out of his hands, planting her feet just in case he decided to let, so she would fall on her rear again.

Mettaliar felt her hand grab onto the staff and raised an eyebrow. He wasn't surprised by it, as it was a makeshift plan that wasn't built to work much. He saw the dollar stick out of her pocket a little from the fishing. He tried to think of how to handle the situation. If he wasn't put to a test, it would have been easier. His mind stopped at an idea and prayed it worked.
He felt Neena tug on the staff. This time instead of resisting, he slightly let go of the staff and ran with it. He reached her legs and slid by. as he did he reached up and grabbed the bill. He couldn't pull it out then, but as he knelt up he was able to pull it out.
He remained kneeling and looked up a Neena, who still couldn't see him. He wanted to see the look on her face when she realized what had happened. Hidden, he grinned. It was extremely fun, he felt like thanking her afterwards.

Neena felt the resistance disappear, then air pass by her side. She heard the rocks crunch as he slid by, along with another sound she recognized as well. She straightened, holding the now visible staff, and turned slightly. She blinked, and her eyes tinted red. Heat vision revealed a red and orange form kneeling nearby. She flipped the staff and lightly tapped Mettaliar on the head, smiling.
"Nice work. End simulation."
The rocks faded away, and she leaned casually on the staff. "All right. So we know you've got good aim, fast reflexes and would make a decent thief. I'd say as far as control, you've got that well under wraps. Practice will improve all of the above. So I'm thinking next thing would be strategy. Let's see what we can come up with."
She tossed the staff at him and again made her way up to the Observation Room.
"I have another question for you though. Have you tried creating anything other than metal or wood?"

Mettaliar stood up as the ground around him changed and the room returned to it's normal self. He listened to Neena as he looked around the place. He took the staff as she threw it to him and threw it to the side. He heard strategy come out of her mouth and he smiled. Sounds like a test of minds was up front, and he would enjoy it.
When he heard the question come up about his abilities, he put his hand to his chin and thought. Come to think of it, he hadn't thought of a time where he did. He tried to think far back, but nothing came to mind. He sighed and looked up towards the observation room.
"No. I haven't tried it. I have been recently trying hard to improve on my metallic powers that I haven't moved on to trying other things."
