The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A proper adult would have asked for the tour. A proper adult would have waited for the tour. A proper adult would not have started wandering around on her own, if a tour was not available. Of course the key word in all three assumptions would be proper.
Neena was not proper.
Not long after entering the Mansion, she found herself in front of the Danger Room doors, without a tour guide, expert or otherwise. She stood there for quite a while, staring down at the keypad, hands in the pockets of her jeans. Several students passed her by, exchanging curious looks, but no one stopped to find out what she was doing.
Behind her sunglasses, Neena’s nearly-white eyes had a slight lavender tint to them. Rather than the plain silver pad, her eyes saw the mechanics, wires and computer interfaces behind it. Another blink and the keypad became a kaleidoscope of colors. She could trace the live circuits inside the plate, but apparently no one had used the pad recently, for she couldn’t see any residual body heat.
She straightened up, and unslung her pack from her back. Rummaging for a moment, she pulled out a small tin. She carefully opened it, taking care not to touch the power with her hands. Leaning over she blew softly, scattering the powder over the plate. She let it set for a brief moment as she pulled out a makeup blush-brush. She swept the powder back into the tin with the same care, replaced the tin in her pack, and pulled out and put on a very thin plastic glove. Turning back to the plate, she blinked again. A ring of dark, almost-black purple lined her irises. To her eyes the keypad lit up with blacklight, and a set of fingerprints stood out in neon yellow. With a smile she tapped in the sequence of prints with the stem. Her expression was more than satisfied as the door slid silently open. She wiped down the plate with her glove, then removed it so that it was inside out.
With a yawn she walked into the dark room, to its center. She pushed her sunglasses up into her black hair. Her nearly-white eyes stood out like a flashlight against her chocolate-colored skin, and practically shone in the darkness. She blinked, and a glow-in-the-dark green lined the edges of her eyes. She turned a circle, taking in the room’s details behind the darkness. An appreciative whistle escaped her lips.
”Even better than the original, Mr. X.” Her voice echoed against the walls.
On one side she spotted the stairway up to the observation room. Every curious, she stuck her hands in her pockets again and headed up to the room.

Once in the Observation Room, Neena again paused in the room’s center to get her bearings. The console appeared complicated, so she sat down in a chair and took a closer look. Not being one to read manuals, she was a fond believer in the old motto, ‘Let’s see what this button does’.
And that’s just what she did. Some buttons and toggles were self-explanatory, such as ‘Terminate Exercise’ and ‘Emergency Stop’.
”Hmm. Sure those’ll come in handy,” she murmured.
Others were not so clearly marked, and most of them were the same bland silver color. Not much to go on so she simply started at the left, and made her way down and right, in systematic order.
Damian walked down the stairs into the basement and down the hall. He nodded to a few students and kept walking. As he reached the end of the hallway he saw a large iron door with a keypad on the wall beside it. He ignored the keypad and code that was needed to open the door and waved his hand. The door opened and after he had entered, closed.
Damian was wearing stripy pyjama pants and a dark blue T-Shirt. He was too lazy to change.

The first button didn't do anything. The second button didn't do anything. The third button turned a light above the control panel on and off. Neena snorted.
"Oh yeah. Like I need light to see by."
The fourth and fifth button also came up empty. By that time she guessed there must be a 'start' or 'activate' switch somewhere, and began hunting for it. At one point she leaned over and looked underneath the console.
"Now come on. How hard can it be to turn this thing on?"
"Simulation Program activated. Obsactle course, setting, level seven. Please designate indoors or outdoors."
"Say what? What's outdoors?" Neena straightened up, and her glasses fell back onto her nose. "What's going on?"
"Progam accepted. Simulation will begin in five. Four. Three. Two. One."
Neena frowned. "What simulation?"
Down below, the Danger Room began to change. The dark walls faded away, revealing what looked like an ancient Olympic games arena, complete with stone bleachers, and marked out areas. Stone pillars of different heights and widths were scattered about the area. Then, from the center of the arena another pillar of stone rose out of the ground. The pillar shuddered, then several fist-sized holes opened along its height. From the holes came, rather suddenly and at high speeds, round balls. From her position, Neena blinked, telescoping in for a closer look. The balls were made of solid stone.
One of the other pillars crumbled suddenly as a stone orb connected with it. Neena whistled.
"Glad I'm not down there."
It was at that point she noticed that someone else was down there, and right in the middle of the ball game.
Damian saw the room begin to change and knew from past experiences that someone had started up the program. He could have shut it down mentally with his powers but decided not to. He looked around as the Olympic Games Arena appeared and stone boulders went flying. He smirked and knew he had to make it across the large room to win the course. He was on the edge so he did a quick, 30 second stretch and was ready.
Damian was running when two stones were coming from opposite directions trying to sandwich him. He flicked his hand up and the right one went flying into the cieling and smashed. He then stretched his left hand out and the left one slowed and stopped altogether. He mentally made it hover infront of him and started walking. Whenever a stone came at him, he'd smash it with the one he had with him.
Damian had been almost hit once, but his barrier had just saved him from being hit in the head. He remembered doing this with Tricity at age 16. He then saw as the boulders started coming about 7 at a time and a lot faster. He put up a weak barrier to deflect some just incase, but mainly worked on flying in the air, close to the ceiling where the stones were scaresome. After he had gotten through the hard areas he just put his strength into his barrier and walked through.
When Damian reached the end of the hallway he walked towards the Observatory. He mentally flicked the switches inside, causing the program to turn off. When he entered, he nodded with a smile to a petite african-american woman who was obviously the perpatraitor of this course. "The names Damian, English Teacher." he said with a smile and outstretched his hand to shake hers.

Neena watched the kid (at least he looked young to her) moved through the course fairly easily. She made a mental note to figure out exactly what the 'levels' of the room were. He seemed to have a fair amount of control of his powers, so she began fiddling with the console again. When he finally came in she was in a rather awkward position; she'd wrapped her legs around the back of her chair to anchor herself, and was bent backwards looking underneath the consol panel.
"The names Damian, English Teacher."
"Hiya Damian, English Teacher." She stuck one hand out and waved at him. "Neena, Danger Room Teacher. That is, once I figure out how this contraption works." She reached back out and set her sunglasses on the top of the consol; she really didn't need them indoors, and they were getting in the way presently.
"Nice work out there, by the way. Telekinetic or gravity manipulator?" She hadn't been watching closely enough to figure it out on her own. She made another mental note to pay more attention in the future.
Damian smiled to her. "Telekinetic and I have another power, but that'll stay with me for now" he said. He didn't mean to be rude but he didn't tell anyone about his acid powers. The only time he used it was when he started producing the acid to ward off anything with a decent sense of smell.
Damian realized she didn't know how to use the Danger Room and decided to help her. "Well, Tricity and I used the original model of this togther about...10 years ago. If you want, I can teach you." he said kindly. He wanted to be helpful and it was a weekend, he was off. He thought about where he's start....probably turning it on.

"Telekinetic and I have another power, but that'll stay with me for now."
"Secretive type, huh? Eh, no worries. We all like to keep some secrets." She smiled and chuckled, knowing full well that while most liked keeping secrets, she loved finding them out. Not that she was nosy, necessarily, but having been a thief for most of her preteen and early teen years, she couldn't help but snoop.
"Well, Tricity and I used the original model of this together about...10 years ago. If you want, I can teach you."
Neena snorted. "Yeah, I remember Mr. X kept trying to get me in there too. I'd duck out as much as possible, but there were times there's just no arguing with him, ya know. As for teaching me, that might be a good idea. I have a feeling Tricity wouldn't be too happy if one of students got seriously injured 'cause I didn't know what I was doing."
She pushed herself out, walking backwards with her hands, still upside down, until she had a clear view of him. She grinned, her near-white eyes unusually bright. "After all," she added, "teachers are supposed to know everything, ya know?"
Damian nodded. "Yes, us teachers are rather smart." he said in a joking, matter-of-fact tone. He then walked over to Neena and looked at the control panel. He walked over to the very middle where there was a microphone and headphones as well as a few tiny switches. He flicked one and picked up the mike. "Automated Asisstant." he said in a commanding tone. There was a buzzing sound and then a sweet voice pierced the air.
"Hello, I am Tanya, the Automated Asisstant, how may I help you?" the voice said. Damian smiled and spoke. "This is all you need to do. Flick that pink switch and say Automated Assisstant and Tanya will do anything you ask. She is a program so she can control anything and everything in the Danger Room." He then flicked the switch off and the buzzing died.
He then waved his hands as his eyes turned a milky white. The switches all started flicking and bottons pushed and dials turned for a minute, and then they all died. Damian looked at Neena. "Your voice has been programmed into the computers." he said. "This will allow you to do things that only the Teachers can do. It also just set up a course and modified it to make it efficient for my powers and weaknesses. Then it guessed your skill level and incorporated that into the equation. Nobody really understands what it really does, we just pretend." he said humourously and then opened the door with his hand, motioning for the lady to go into the large room that was turning into the amazon at that very moment.
"Stealth Course Activating. Damian and Neena versus Robots 1 and 2. Objective, terminate the opponents before they terminate you."

Neena blinked as the voice announced its presence and purpose. She tilted her head to the side slightly.
<"A guy must have programmed this thing,"> she thought to herself. She blinked again, first her left eye, then her right. Her left gain a very, very faint yellow tinge, while the right went faintly lavender. It was a little trick she'd learned before graduating. As the various buttons and switches were activated, one eye took note of what mechanisms inside the panel were being shifted, while the other traced the circuits' current flow (which signal went where). It moved too fast for her to totally memorize it; after all she didn't have a photographic memory. But she kept up well enough to figure out the basics. A few more 'practice sessions', and she'd be able to hold her own.
A second course was set up, and Damian motioned for her to follow him.
"Stealth Course Activating. Damian and Neena versus Robots 1 and 2. Objective, terminate the opponents before they terminate you."
Neena grunted and blinked her eyes back to normal. "Well, I guess I'd better get in some practice. Can't have a rusty teacher, can we?" She picked up and replaced her sunglasses, and followed.
<"Hmm... trees, swampy ground, dense undergrowth.... lots of bugs...."> Neena swatted as what looked like a giant mosquito tried to land on her. Aloud she remarked, "Yeeahh.... think I'm going to get a better view."
With that she walked to the nearest tree, and began climbing. The trunk was slick with who-knew-what, but she continued on. At one point she felt something land heavily in her hair. She got to a point where she could free one hand, and then reached up. She felt something furry. Pulling it down, she found herself looking into the eight, rather large, eyes of a tarantula the size of her hand. Neena grinned.
"Hey Specs, no free rides today." She reached out and set him on a nearby branch, then continued climbing.
Once she was well screened by the canopy, she paused and sat on a branch. Wiping her slime-covered hands on her jeans, she turned to find her 'opponent'.
Damian smiled as he saw Neena climb the tree. He looked up and started levitating until he was level with the lady. He winked and pointed to the rustling in the trees. "They always come from the North." he said simply. Damian then looked to Neena. "I need to know some things." he said nicely. "What are your powers if I may ask." he said politely. He then started thinking of a plan.
After a fewmoments he thought of a good one. Neena and himself would fly through the air just below the tree-tops and one of them would look ahead for the robots. There were two and they would take them by surprise, one at a time.

As Damian came level with her, she pulled herself into a crouching position on the branch, and turned to scan the surrounding area. She heard what he said, but didn’t answer at first. Her mind had shifted into overdrive, analyzing the situation in a few moments.
<“Two opponents, most likely robots. Stealth mission, so most likely cloaked, and sound masked. Probably heat sensor equipped. Electric current running through the whole room. Holo-projectors activated. Virtual reality activated. Considering objective, first strike mostly likely exploratory. Risk involved in current placement battle...”> Neena looked down to the ground, gauging the distance, <“High.”>
She blinked, switching to heat vision. Slowly she scanned the area again.
"They always come from the North." Neena caught the trees rustling sound, and turned to inspect. ”Uh huh,” she replied absently. She turned her head, still scanning apparently.
"I need to know some things. What are your powers if I may ask."
Neena’s mouth curled into a smile. ”You mean my mutation? Well, since you told me one of your secrets, I’ll tell you one of mind. But first, I have one quick suggestion....
Duck.”
As she spoke, Neena launched herself off of the branch and over Damian’s head. However, what should have been a drop into oblivion was halted by something unseen. Well, not unseen to Neena. As she fell, she latched onto the cloaked robot’s head, throwing her weight sideways just a bit as she did. It was enough to momentarily unbalance the bot. It reached over with one limb to grab her. Planting her feet, she pushed off of its chassis, propelling herself the other way. Her weight again threw the machine off, sending it into a spin toward the ground, with Neena hanging on for the ride. When they were within fifteen feet of the ground, Neena let go and curled into a ball. The robot made a direct hit into a dead tree trunk, shredding and splintering the wood. She hit the ground hard, and rolled off to the left, impacting with the tree she’d been climbing moments before. She uncurled and rubbed her head, frowning slightly.
”Ow, that hurt,” she stated, unfazed. ”Should’ve waited ‘till ten feet.” Grumbling she got to her feet at about the same time the robot did, noticing two things as she did. One, the robot wasn’t completely invisible anymore; its cloaking shield was flickering in and out. And two, it was smoking a bit from a hole in its side. Still grinning, and not waiting for it to attack first, she took a run at it, then slid underneath it like a baseball player sliding into home, the slickness of the floor aiding her slide. As she went she scooped up a sizeable chunk of wood. She pushed herself to her feet, spun, and slammed the chunk into the small smoking hole. The robot’s shield flickered again, then died completely, leaving the machine totally visible. Neena backed away, adjusting her sunglasses, and smirked up at Damian.
”Let’s just say I’m a ‘seer’.” The robot swung to face her again. It seemed unfazed, and ready to continue attacking. She waited to see whether the robot or Damian would react first, though she had a pretty good idea who would.
Damian watched the little battle with amusement and nodded at Neena's expanation of her powers. He sat in the air cross-legged and looked around. He saw nothing. He sent little blasts of telekinetic energy in every direction. One of them made a sound like a clang and he turned his head. Standing there, with it's cloaking down, was a large robot. Damian jumped up onto two legs and levitated higher. Once he was level with the robot's eyes, he pushed his two hands towards the head, it was pushed back as was the robot. Damian clenched both of his hands into fists and the robot's eyes were crushed. It raised it's arm blindly and began shooting little spheres of iron everywhere. They were like deadly bee-bees. Damian put up a barrier around himself and Neena then jumped to the ground.
"Okay, look for the Console Wires connecting to the main brain box via the electric channels." Damian said. He then realized that Neena probably had no clue what he said and decided to be more precise. "Look for the red wire that is attached to the black box and the silver sphere." He then threw Neena a handgun that was in his pocket from his encounter with Skoliro. "SHoot at where it is on both robots and I'll disconnect them." he said.
The robot that was blinded then shot towards where the sound of Damian's voice was and the 6 spheres it shot each got within three feet of both Damian and Neena, then fell to the ground. Damian smiled as he knew his barriers were working and wasn't paying attention when he tripped over a root in the ground. He blushed and got back up hurriedly.

(OOC: I'm assuming both bots are still functioning (sort of) and both visible now. Let me know if I read that wrong.)
Neena tensed to jump out of the way as her robot began firing. But there seemed to be a barrier keeping the little 'bullets' from reaching her. She went through a number of different 'visions' in rapid succession; any onlooker would have done a double-take in surprise as each of her eyes blinked independent of each other.
<"Telekinesis,"> she concluded silently after failing to see the barrier. <"Works for me."> The constant hint of a grin that seemed to always be on her face solidified a bit more.
"Okay, look for the Console Wires connecting to the main brain box via the electric channels." Pause, pause. Neena glanced over the rim of her glasses at Damian. He continued, "Look for the red wire that is attached to the black box and the silver sphere."
She pushed the glasses back and chuckled. "Got it." She'd already spotted the connection during her barrier inspection. She switched over to x-ray vision to re-find it.
Damian then threw her a handgun, which she caught by the barrel. "SHoot at where it is on both robots and I'll disconnect them."
She grunted. "Uh uh," was the simple reply. She paused long enough to take out the bullets, and stick them in her pocket, then stuck the gun in her other pocket. The faint smile was still on her face as she did so.
She backed away slightly, her eyes scanning the area. She chuckled at his slip up, but didn't draw attention to it. Both robots were still functioning, and in plain sight, which made their job easier. Damian's plan was a sound one; so how to accomplish it without firearms?
Answer? Let the robots do carry it out.
"Damian, I need you to reign in that shield around me. Say within four to six inches. Keep it around me while I run that way." She motioned to the right, where the simulation had placed a boulder at the base of a knarled tree trunk. Numerous vines hung down toward the ground. "Then when I say now, release it. No sooner, no later. Think you can do it?" She glanced sideways at him with the type of look a teenager gives her friend when daring them to do something unbelievably stupid.
Damian nodded and did as he was told. He just waited for the signal. In the mean time he weakened the barrier on himelf and used the energy to keep the robots in place; he didn't want them running around.
OOC: SOrry, I'm late for work. I'll add emotions and stuff later that won't make a difference except lengthen it. You can post without worrying that it'll make a difference.
