Kai was bored. All he had to do lately was wait. And waiting was not something that Kai was particularly good at. He was waiting for a return letter from his family. Waiting for his birthday to come around. Waiting for someone to come along in this huge mansion and talk to him and relieve his boredom. And so Kai was bored. Teenage boys often did stupid things when they were bored.
He took a swing with the golf club that he'd found earlier that day. It made such a satisfying whoosh!ing noise as it swung through the air. But it didn't help beat all of his frustration out.
In front of Kai was a little white rock. Almost perfectly round. It was smaller than a golf ball, but rocks were heavier than golf balls, so it was okay. Yes! That would be much more satisfying. He kept his eyes low, not losing sight of his object in the grass. He brought the club up, arms extended, and let fly.
Whoosh!
The ark was off somehow, probably the weight. It was beautiful! Flying through the air... until it crashed through a window in the mansion. Kai's heart crashed through his stomach and he ran towards the building. Oh Crap. Oh crapohcrapohcrap!

Henrietta was sitting by herself in the dining room, reading. Her arm was wrapped up in bandages from when she had tried protecting a girl that was being harassed by a couple of male mutants. That day, the brunette had also learned of a new ability she had somehow obtained. Her hair could grow at least 4 or 5 feet. She hadn’t really had enough time to inspect the mutation, but she had gathered some information from the brief encounter with the two men.
It was obvious that this new power came into being when she was frightened and hurt. A man with spiked-tentacles had grabbed onto her upper arm. Not only was Henri afraid that she was going to be killed, she was also afraid of all the blood that had began to run down her arm at the time. One of her biggest fears was and still is blood. Large amounts of it had a way of making the young lady cringe and get light-headed.
Anyway, at this moment, she was reading a book she had found in the library. As she began to flip a page, something flew through the window, causing glass to shatter. Henrietta glanced up in surprise, only to get smacked in the forehead with something hard and decently heavy for such a small thing. From the impact, the girl leaned back in her chair and then fell off the other side.
The brunette was now lying on the floor with a throbbing in her temple and a sore back. Unfortunately, the floor hadn’t been as comfortable as Henri had hoped. Blinking her eyes rapidly, she slowly sat up. Gingerly touching her fingers to her forehead, she could feel a small amount of blood pooling where the rock had hit. That wasn’t bad. Small amounts were easy for her to deal with, especially if she couldn’t see them.
