Character
Personality: Gregory is a hard man. His childhood experiences combined with the way he makes his living has, by sheer necessity, killed his conscience. That is not to say that he is evil, he just doesn't have an internal moral compass. He has no ideal person to act as his guiding light: the only example is what he learned about how not to be from his brother. He generally is a happy man despite this, and a smile can often be seen on his face. He is the eternal realist: he hopes for the best but plans for the worst, and he is kind with most people. This goodness does not extend to his jobs, however, for he is merciless and unrelenting in all cases. He has a deep dislike of animals, and though he is happy he seems rather gruff on first meetings. This is to discourage people from trying to get to know him: he prefers his solitude.
Hobbies/ Interests: Gregory sometimes dabbles in painting, but he is not very good at it and often gets disheartened and throws away his supplies in frustration. Job or part time job and description: Gregory is a man of two worlds. He is a professional hit-man, and he is also a hired bodyguard. Those in the unsavory circles know him as one who will take down anyone, anywhere, at any time. For the right price. Those in the bodyguard business know him as a reliable man who has never let any of his clients down. Funnily enough, his clients are often found dead several days or weeks after Gregory leaves their employ... Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Gregory is deathly afraid of spiders, and he goes out of his way to avoid him. Also, he has abandonment issues and uses his solitary lifestyle as a coping mechanism. Special talents: Gregory is a very talented dancer, and though he's never took any sort of lessons he is a maniac on the dance floor.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Neutral. Though Gregory's job may seem evil to many, he has also saved many lives in his role as a bodyguard and has no particular malice against anyone. It's just business.
Mutations
Mutation description: Gregory has the ability to summon and control chains. It is not a form of telekinesis, or magnetic control, but rather that these chains almost become extensions of Gregory's body. These chains can be of any design or color, and often have things such as spikes on the end or blades along their lengths. He can, with a rock-steady concentration, control up to ten chains at once. However, the longer and/or thicker the chains are the less he can control. Gregory can only control chains that he has summoned: he can no more control any other chain than he could control a chair. These chains do not have to be attached to Gregory in order to function, but if they are not attached to some steady object they don't have a base to pull against: the leverage isn't sufficient and they can't do much as far as lifting weights or thrashing about. Each chain can lift up to 200 lbs, minus ten pounds for each chain he is controlling. So if Gregory was controlling four chains they could each lift 160 lbs. When the chains work together, they can lift 3/4 of their total combined capacities. So if those same four chains work together, they could lift 480 lbs. The chains have to be within about ten feet of Gregory, lest they become inert. The maximum length Gregory has ever achieved was fifty feet, but he was only controlling one chain and he nearly passed out. He has not tested his limits on thickness yet, but supposes that chains about five inches thick would be pushing it. The chains have animalistic-like instincts in that they do not require direct, 100% control of every link by Gregory's mind. They respond to what he tells them to do without him having to focus all of his attention on exactly how to go about it.
Strengths: This allows Gregory to grab others, scale buildings, and even cause serious harm if he so wishes. The chains can also act as extra limbs, aiding him with every-day activities. Weaknesses: The chains have to have a steady anchor to do much of anything, and if he is not careful to counterbalance his actions Gregory could rip himself apart. Also, the chains occasionally try to influence his thoughts.
Fighting Style Whirling Chain Death Explanation: Gregory tends to start out with a grapple of some kind with his chains to hold someone in place, and then uses a bladed chain to tear them apart from a distance. If the person is a little closer than that, he can dish out the pain by either just unarmed fighting or using his chains in close combat.
Pros for fighting style: This allows Gregory to keep his distance most of the time, and his grapples are good if you don't want to seriously injure the opponent. Cons for fighting style: If the opponent is able to close the distance on Gregory his attacks become much less effective.

History Of Your Character Gregory was born along with his twin Sarah to a family that already had too many children. He had seven older brothers and an older sister, and though it went against their religious beliefs his parents seriously considered giving them up for adoption. They decided in the end to keep him and his twin sister, but his father was forced to get a third job and his mother had to get a second job as well as her job as a cleaning maid in order to be able to afford the costs of two new babies. Gregory's eldest brother was John(age 14) followed by his older sister Chelsea (age 13), Raleigh (age 12), Jeremy (age 10), Henry (age 8), Matthew (age 6), and George (age 4). This meant that Gregory and his twin sister Sarah were essentially raised by their two older brothers, Raleigh and John. While John was older, he was too-often pre-occupied with his girlfriend, and often ignored Gregory and Sarah's problems if they got in the way. Raleigh, on the other hand, had a cruel streak in him that seemed to only show itself to Gregory and Sarah. He became abusive and mean, and while Gregory always tried to take the blows for his sister Sarah also got hit.
Sarah was a kind-hearted girl, and despite the abuse that she suffered and saw her twin put through she retained her child-like innocence through most of her early years, and was happy most of the time. This was largely the doing of Gregory and his brothers: they did the best they could to give Sarah a happy childhood. They all doted on their little baby sister, and though many of the brothers had to grow up and move away, they sent her candies and presents on every holiday, and wrote often. Gregory might have felt a little left out and jealous of the attention, but his affection for his sister prevented any such feelings for taking hold. Because of the age differences between the children, the only siblings that George and Sarah really knew other than Raleigh were Henry, Matthew, and George. They were of such an age that the twins were old enough to remember them before they moved away. Henry was a bookworm how loved nothing more than a cozy spot with a good book and longed for the next Harry Potter or Drizzt Do'Urden book. Matthew was a football jock with a soft-spot for pretty girls and bad decisions. Though a kind man at heart, Matthew hung out with the wrong kind of people and ended up in a lot of trouble. George had no particular defining qualities: he seemed to fade into the background no matter where he might be or what he might be doing. In truth, he preferred it that way, for he found attention scary and unwelcome.
This was the situation for many years, and Gregory came to accept it as normal. The explaining away of bruises to the nurses at school, the silent sobs in their shared room, the home-made bandages for when they fell and skinned their elbows or knees, it all became a part of life for Gregory. Even when Raleigh graduated from High School and got a job, he got a job that allowed him to live close to home, so he could "take care of his little brother and sister". When Gregory turned thirteen, in fact on his and Sarah's birthday, Raleigh beat Sarah so savagely that he broke her arm. He had never caused lasting harm before, and that was the day that Gregory decided he could no longer take it lying down. He began to work out whenever he could, running laps around the neighborhood to build up endurance, and lifting make-shift weights to improve his strength. By the time he was sixteen, Gregory was large enough that he could finally stand up to Raleigh.
It didn't turn out well. While Gregory was, in fact, able to keep Raleigh from hitting Sarah anymore, an enormous fist-fight erupted that ended with Gregory incapacitated and Raleigh very angry, very hurt, and very dangerous. The next day, while Gregory was sleeping, Raleigh came back to the house and killed Sarah. As he was advancing on Gregory to do the same, Gregory awoke, and the sight of his dead twin stoked within him a rage that he had never before thought possible. Somehow, incredibly, chains shot out from his hands and wrapped around Raleigh, lifting him off of the ground. Gregory stood like that for several minutes, maybe even hours, trembling with the effort of dancing the fine line between murderous rage and mercy. Eventually, he lost his footing, and Raleigh died.
Gregory ran away, unable to live with the consequences of his actions, and went out into the street. With his powers he managed to be intimidating enough to rob stores for food, and strong enough to defend himself from other street rats. When he turned twenty-one, Gregory applied for and got a job as a bouncer at a small bar. Though his five years on the streets had kept him lean, his muscles were more defined than ever and he was able to take on most of the trouble that happened without resorting to his abilities. One customer, just about a year into the job, changed all of that. The man was very drunk, very angry, and very powerful. He was a mutant who could move almost faster than the eye could see, and he gave Gregory two shiners and a few broken ribs before Gregory managed to trip him and contain him with his chains. While the police were grateful, they were also very wary of Gregory. He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, but before he was bundled away inside of it a little man in a very nice pinstripe suit pressed a plain white business card into his hand. It read 'Mundungus Hatching's Bodyguard and Escort Services' When Gregory called the number the next morning, Mundungus offered him a job as a bodyguard.
This is what Gregory did for the next four years, protecting the rich and famous both from their fans and from those who would wish them harm. After those four years, however, Mundungus revealed to Gregory the other side of his Bodyguard services. Mundungus was secretly the head of a group of cut-throat hit-men who used their jobs as bodyguards in order to learn the defenses and schedules of their targets. Mundungus only revealed the secret to his most trusted and skilled employees, and Gregory was honored to be counted among those.
For the next eleven years, that was Gregory's life. He lived, breathed, ate and slept for his job, and was happy to do something that had such a big impact on the world. He traveled all over the world in his job, and became rather wealthy. Now, however, he has taken a month or two off of work in order to return to New York, New York, the city of his birth, and try to find some resolution to the unsolved questions of his past. But he has found more than he bargained for in the dark streets...

Roleplay Where did you learn about this site?: Google.. or was it dogpile? I can't remember. Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: N/A Sample RP: A small, soft tinkling sound swept down the darkened corridors, resounding slightly off of the hardwood floors and, thankfully, not loud enough to wake anyone.
Gregory shook his head at the noise, and turned to glare at the two rookies behind him as they clumsily made their way into the room. Gregory had done all of the work for the mission: the kids were his responsibility and only along for the ride. To get a little bit of first-hand experience with the way things worked. Gregory was the one who had spent the last four and a half month sidling his way up through the ranks of the many and nameless guards that protected the fine mansion he found himself in, Gregory was the one who spent another month gaining the trust of the target, saving him from several (faked) threats on his life. After nearly half a year of watching, waiting, and working, Gregory knew that the time was right to strike. Unfortunately, Mundungus had insisted that he take the two young bloods with him to initiate them into the business.
Even if you added their ages together, the two guys were barely older than Gregory, and they didn't seem to even know the basics of an assassination. "Silence!" Gregory hissed, his glare boring into the usually rebellious men with such intensity that actually made them shut their mouths for a few moments as they opened them to argue. Gregory's quick gaze took in the broken shard of glass that had come from their bumbling, and shook his head with derision. Amateurs. He thought. With eleven years under his belt, there were only a select few who could claim more seniority in Mundungus's business, and not even half of those could claim more success than Gregory. "Remember," he whispered, barely speaking loud enough for the mic on his ear-bud to pick up his words, "touch nothing. Take nothing. Look at nothing except the kill. You are here to watch, and learn, and nothing else. Cross me and you will be out of this business faster than you can say 'Sorry'" Gregory paused, and then a wolfish smile came over his face. "And we all know there is only one way out of this business."
Without checking to see if the two were following, Gregory stalked down the hall silently, and to the amazement of his cohorts, two chains rose like fell snakes from under his trenchcoat to wave in the air.
