The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daria shook her head in confusion and then smiled. "Well it's different when you're defending yourself..I wouldn't just attack you for no reason."
Daria assumed her fighting stance once more holding her hands high again. She suddenly took off running almost at full speed, which was pretty fast. As she ran she teleported from side to side, each time she reappeared she came a bit closer to Mike. She teleported herself behind him and aimed a sweeping kick at his ankles.
Mike just stood still as she teleported from side to side, knowing that each time she appeared out of striking range had nothing to do with where she'd be when she finally WAS in striking range. He held his ground, trying to concentrate on all of his angles of attack and defense, and indeed he managed to react when she appeared behind him, but not fast enough. He jumped, trying to clear her kick, but was just barely too slow. He staggered backwards, trying to regain his defenses.

Daria turned the move into a combination kick following her sweep with a quick snap kick to finish knocking Mike downward. She intended to pin him down-he was a tougher opponent then she thought and she realized she would have to take everychance she could get, he was armed after all.
Mike caught her foot, dropping his bastons to do so. Grunting, he rolled, using his telekinesis along with his leverage to slam her down on her side. He took advantage of the brief moment as he pinned her down by her legs to smirk up at her. "Of course, unarmed has its advantages too..."
Granted, never for a moment did he expect this to last.

Daria hit the ground- hard and the pain shot up from her side into her arm. She felt Mike's grip on her leg's and realized she couldn't move. There was one thing Daria didn't like, and that was being helpless. Mike's slick comment didn't help either as Daria was reminded of the memory she'd just shared with him. But no, she was thinking in the wrong sense of things, Mike didn't have bad intentions like those boys.
She swatted Mike in the face with her tail, which was a little more than slapping him with her hand, long enought to distract him and twist from his grip. She flipped backward and immediatly dove forward to knock Mike over onto his back, pinning his wrists to the floor by his head and pressing his body to the ground with hers. "yes, indeed it does." she replied.
Mike winced. "Oooh, that hurt. I'll just protect myself with the happy thought that you might be bluffing. And I'll remember that this works better when you don't expect it."
His sticks had lifted up from where he'd dropped them, and this time she DID get smacked by one in the backside, just before she found both of them floating eight feet in the air.

Daria surprised them both by actually meowing after she got hit-something she didn't know she could do. She looked up at the bastons before flipping forward over Mike's head and onto her feet, her eyes never leaving the floating weaponry.
She laughed, although her rear was a bit sore. "Very funny, mister, HILARIOUS."
THe bastons snapped up to Mike's waiting hands once she jumped off, and he righted himself in the air. "That's what bad girls get," he grinned, walking on air over her. Without warning, he fell directly down in front of her, already batting at her wrists with his bastons. It was on again.

Daria didn't even have time to snicker at his joke or marvel at his air strolling. He was attacking again and Daria was now pinned against the wall. She could've teleported away but that would land her in the same position sooner or later. She was at a disadvantage, as long as Mike had his staves so she decied to do something about that.
As stated before taekwondo doesn't have many hand moves and the one's t does have are precise and deadly. They can, if used right knock someone unconcious. But Daria didn't want to use the move on Mike. She continued blocking as best she could, the pain was begining to be felt in her forearms, and also tried to concentrate as best she could. She slowed her breathing and, with her eyes still closed and with one swift movement Daria grabbed one stave with her left hand and the other with her tail. She was holding both by the ends and, bending her fingers and pushing out the lower ends of her hands she snapped first the baston she held with her tail and then the one in her hand, right in half. It was a simple mind over matter move that she had to master to get her black belt. She had had to break three boards each an inch thick. When the staves were broken she dropped the pieces she held and aimed a snap kick at Mike's chest.
Mike sighed as he dropped the broken staves. Those were the last birthday present his father had gotten him before... everything. He assumed his unarmed stance, well aware that this was going to be a fairly one-sided fight from here out.
The snap kick caught him square in the chest, knocking him back a few steps and, of course, hurting like hell. He briefly considered his options, then realized that the only way to counter his disarmed state was to 'disarm' Daria as well.
In escrima, it's known as 'gunting,' the art of making the opponent unable to continue wielding his weapon or fighting. When wielding daggers, this usually means cutting the wrist or hands, unarmed or with staves, it meant striking pressure points. He only knew a few of them... but he knew how to make them count. Before her leg could retract, he struck the pressure point on her hip.

Daria had only a second to process Mike's hurt look after the staves were broken. She didn't quite understand but before she knew it her leg on the side where Mike hit her had buckled and she had kneel down. She had no clue what had happened, but her hip hurt. She unsheathed her claws and hissed- she wouldn't really scratch Mike, it would be unfair but she could scare him. Her eyes narrowed and he lips drew back to reveal her sharp fangs. The air was filled with her noise.
