The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Birthplace/ Home/ Place of origin: New York City, New York
Appearance
Hair color and style:Brown hair that hangs long.
Eyes: Slate Grey
Height:5’5
Build: Her body, toned and tight, she is at the epitome of her body shape thanks to years of daily combat training, leaving her body strong and supple and curved in the exact right places. At first glance some would assume that the young woman is a bit of a sickly thing, but another hard look at her toned arms, flat stomach, and tight thighs and those individuals would have a change of thoughts.
Visible mutation: N/A
Scars/ Tattoos/ Piercings:She has pierced ears and her body does have a couple scars. Ever since the incident at Abraham High School she has been mistreated by her parents. She has a couple of knife wounds from ritual cuttings, a belt lash mark across her back, and a large cross branded (burned) into her stomach.
Other features: N/A
Everyday clothing style: Cheap and effective clothing. Agnes tends to stick with clothing that his form-fitting as it allows her grace and movement. She doesn’t care for clothing to be too baggy as it can become a hindrance in combat.
Uniform: A skintight, black bodysuit and conforms to her body with perfection. It allows her a complete range of movement, is light, not cumbersome. It doesn’t provide a lot of protection armor wise, but Agnes would rather be able to move and risk being injured than becoming a tank and taking ever blow that comes at her. Additionally she wears a mask over her face that covers everything but her eyes, and a wrap over her hair to keep it from being pulled or yanked in combat.
Sleepwear: Boy shorts and a tank top.
Miscellaneous clothing: She carries with her a bobcat tooth tied to a strip of leather around her neck that her uncle gave her.
Character
Personality: Like any person, Agnes is a complicated individual. Due to the traumas from her past, the young woman is hodgepodge of emotions and confusion. She wants nothing more than to settle and have a normal life, but her urge for revenge and answers have left her constantly moving. Not being in any place for too long as led her to prefer isolation but even she realizes the strengths of having contacts and people she can trust (when they earn it). There are several goods and bads to this young woman’s personality.
Hobbies/ Interests: There are few remaining hobbies and interests that have survived from her years living with her parents and her time with her uncle. One of which is that she used to play the violin. She isn’t as skilled as she used to be but she does play from time to time just to release some tension. Additionally she used to read a lot of comic books thanks to her brother but most of her originals were lost before she joined the X-Men. Now she hoards a few here and there.
Job or part time job and description: Wanderer / Crime Fighter / X-Man
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Agnes had an intense hatred and fear of spiders, otherwise known as arachnophobia. It is never been clear to her why this is, but it is safe to assume that Agnes simply does not and will not ever like them. When given a situation where the two will have to interact, Agnes will do her damnedest to avoid it, or simply stomp and crush them to disfigured goo. Of course…she really does not want to deal with the remains either.
Also a concern of hers what is Agnes called “Rage Mode”. Unfortunately even Agnes can be prone to fits of rage. Whether it is because of frustration in the midst of battle or facing her phobia, Agnes is capable of losing her control. This is a very difficult task to do, but when it is done, it is best to make sure that no one is in her way. Agnes will fight until exhaustion sets in, which can take at least four hours of near constant fighting.
Special talents:Agnes does possess a few talents thanks to her time with her uncle:
Hunter/Gatherer: Agnes is well trained in hunting, tracking, and living off the land thanks to her upbringing. She knows how to survive as that is the most important thing to her.
Computer Knowledge: Even though her strengths lie in nature, Agnes is quite skilled with modern technology. Due to her years on the run with her uncle, she has learned to use computers quite proficiently but she is by no means a hacker or expert.
Social Chameleon: Due to living off the grid, Agnes is pretty much an expert at being a ghost. She knows how to blend in and disappear into a crowd. Thanks to the training she received from her uncle, the young woman is well versed in blending into society and slipping out when need be. No one would be able to tell she is not who she says she is.
Liar, Liar: Agnes is very skilled at lying. Since her life has depended on it for so many years, she can easily lie to someone’s face without a stammer or break in her gaze. The young woman knows that the truth can be extremely deadly.
Cook: She is surprisingly a good cook. One of the few talents that remain from before her uncle and she went into hiding, was the fact that they would cook every meal together and because of that she still retains her ability to whip up a good meal.
Violin: Pre-Teen Agnes used to be a fairly proficient violinist. She still plays from time to time but she doesn’t have the unmatched skill that she used to have. Still, one day, if she were to allow herself enough practice, she could surpass her previous skill level..
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Chaotic-Good. Agnes will do what is right, however, she will do whatever it takes to achieve what she feels is the right decision. If that means some bad people have to be put into the ground, then so be it. She is willing to carry that burden for the greater good.
Mutations
Mutation description:Combative Imprinting - Agnes’ abilities center around the fact that she can absorb any form of combat knowledge from someone she touches, and can copy to perfection. How this works is that when touching an individual for a few seconds, her mind and nervous system works like a sponge. Her mind digs into another person’s, looking for combat related material, absorbs memorized movements (punches, kicks, etc.) and feeds the electrical impulses throughout the rest of her body. The result is that when, for example, fighting a world-class boxing champion, Agnes will be able to copy his fighting style exactly so it appears as if she has had an equal amount of training. These abilities do possess several benefits: [/li]
Strengths:
Instant Combat Knowledge: The biggest benefit of her abilities is the fact that she can take on pretty much anyone’s fighting style. Whether they be an amateur karate enthusiast or a seasoned, championed kickboxer, Agnes can copy their fighting style to perfection. This makes her a very unpredictable opponent as many a seasoned warrior would consider her an easy target…until she turns their skills against them.
Mental Rolodex of Combat: Once Agnes first absorbs someone’s fighting style, it is memorized for life. So long as she trains with said fighting style at least once a day, she will always have this style and skill in the back of her mind, ready to access whenever she needs it. To date, Agnes knows the following fighting styles: Muay Thai Kickboxing, Capoeria, Bare-knuckle Boxing, Close Quarters Combat, Jeet Kune Do, Aikido, Ninjutsu, and Zui quan (Drunken boxing).
Switching It Up: In combat Agnes can easily switch between these styles and skills on the fly which can both disorient and overwhelm her opponents. Where one moment she will be performing capoeira, the next she will be Greco-Roman wrestling, and such changes can easily tip battle conditions in her favor.
Increased Healing: To compensate for the amount of combat she sees and participates in, Agnes’ body heals at a slightly faster rate. She can heal from wounds in days, rather than weeks, so her healing speed is at about twice as fast as a normal human.
Weaknesses:
Unfortunately for every benefit to her unique abilities, there do come several drawbacks that she must keep in mind:
Martial Cap: Agnes has a cap on the amount of styles that she has stored. The maximum amount of styles she utilizes are eight. If she were to touch someone who knew a style she didn’t already know, she would lose one style at random and have the new one be the replacement.
Constant Upkeep: In order to continue to possess fighting styles, Agnes has to either train (an hour per style) or use them in combat at least once, every forty-eight hours. If she does not do this, she loses the fighting style and must touch someone who has the skillset if she wishes to regain the ability.
In-Person: Agnes can only gain someone’s fighting ability if she has skin-to-skin contact them for at least thirty seconds straight. She cannot read a book, watch a video, or touch someone’s clothing and gain those abilities.
No Copying Super Powers: Just because Agnes can absorb someone’s fighting style, it does not mean that she can absorb their super powers as well. For instance, if she were to fight a super strong mutant, she would gain his style of smashing several in sight, but she would not possess the super strength to fully replicate it. Another example would be if she were to fight someone with optic blasts, she would attain their unique fighting style but would not be able to fully replicate it to using abilities not already belonging to her.
Aversion to Touch: Because of the skin-to-skin contact required for her mutation to work, Agnes is extremely sensitive to touch. She doesn’t like to be touched by other people because her mind immediately starts digging into theirs for combat information. This is disorienting and annoying so Agnes makes it a point to never let anyone get close to her unless they are wearing gloves or she is fully covered up.
Rage Mode: Though Agnes’ abilities make her a beast on the battlefield, if she fights for too long, gets too angry or frustrated, she will enter what is called a Rage. When Agnes Rages she sees nothing but red and attacks anyone within her vicinity; this can be men, women, friends, foes, or civilians. Agnes will fight until someone knocks her out or gets through to her to calm her down (which isn’t easy). It is even possible that Agnes will keep fighting passed exhaustion and be a large risk to her health.
Defeat: Despite her strong abilities, Agnes can still be defeated. Whether fighting someone stronger than her or overwhelming numbers, she can be stopped if her enemies are patient or numerous enough to wear her out. Once she uses up her Rage reserves, she’ll be greatly weakened and easily defeated.
Psychics: Sadly Agnes has a natural weakness to psychic types (totes not a Pokemon reference). Psychics have an easier time getting into her head and affecting her mind.
Adapteds: Unfortunately SUPERs are getting smart and adding adapteds to their ranks. When inside a nullifying field of one, Agnes loses her ability to call on her rolodex of styles and instead must rely on her own personal skills. She is still a skilled force to be reckoned with, but she doesn’t have the variety she initially had. The skills she has most trained in on her own are Bare Knuckle Boxing and Jeet Kune Do; when in an Adapted field, that is all she has access to.
Fighting Style
Explanation: Her abilities center around her fighting. She has mastered a varied of techniques and is able to cobble together some to make her own variations of it them. This means that, despite her size, she is not someone to be taken lightly. You do and you may walk away with some broken bones.
Pros for fighting style: Agnes is a powerhouse in one-on-one or group combat. She can fight multiple foes, switch up her styles to meet any situation, and has an eye for catching weaknesses in her opponents. She has been known to take down people much larger than her or any entire crowd. So approach with caution.
Cons for fighting style: There is always someone stronger. If someone who is just physical stronger or a group of armed to the teeth thugs come after her, Agnes will have a considerably harder time fending them off. She can even be bested if she is just outnumbered to the point that she reaches exhaustion.
History Of Your Character
Agnes Nicholas is the second child of Zacheria and Maria Nicholas, a pair of religious store owners called “God Watches All”. She was raised as a deeply religious child and went to private school throughout her entire youth. Because of her parents she grew up to be deeply religious and always believed in following the right and true path that her parents laid out before her, and she was happy to keep them happy. But as soon as she became a teenager, she wanted a change. Her grades top notch, her musical skills unprecedented, and her manners exception, she convinced her parents when she was fourteen to allow her to go to public high school. Both seemed suspicious and warned her for a month about the dangers and sin that were present there, but after much insistence, they finally conceded.
Her transition to Abraham High School was difficult at first because she was the super smart kid who got the straight A’s, was little Miss Manners, and seemed to take on the persona of the teacher’s pet. This earned her ridicule but she managed to survive long enough to carve herself a niche as the resident smart girl. Plus, her truant of an older brother did manage to keep her safe, though they rarely spoke at school. Unfortunately his protection would not last forever. At 12 during a particular lunch break, her world changed forever.
Enjoying her lunch, Agnes was having her usual home-made watercress sandwich and mineral water when the kid next to her suddenly grew a long giraffe neck. He panicked about the room and Agnes watched in horror as he was not the only one affected. Nearly everyone around her started to display strange abilities and became monsters like she read in her hidden away comic book collection. With no idea what to do, she ran to find her brother, but as the students all screamed and fired off lasers, or grew wings, or hurled tables across the room, she began to feel strange. When another student tried to attack her, Agnes ran until she bumped into a security guard. Her hand on his, she suddenly was filled with a deluge of information on Mixed Martial Arts fighting. Her attacker on her, Agnes suddenly lashed out, her young body fending him off with skills and abilities she didn’t know she possessed until she had knocked the man out.
Afterwards, unsure of how she did what she did, and with no idea what to do, Agnes ran, found a hiding place and stayed there in the kitchen, in the dark. It was not until rescue services came was she found. Most of the students were dead, she heard, overtaken by their newfound abilities. Unable to process everything that happened, Agnes only wanted to go home.
The next month was hell for Agnes. Her parents looked at her different, wondering how she had survived such an attack. At the news that the drug slipped into the student’s food was used to activate mutant powers in humans, they could only surmise that their daughter was one of these demon-possessed individuals. Action had to be taken.
Late one night, her brother not around, her parents had slipped into her room tied her up viciously. They dragged her out, down into the living room where they performed a horrible exorcism. They cut to bleed out the evil spirits, tried to drown her in a kiddie pool of holy water, and even branded the symbol of God into her flesh. It was a wonder she survived at all. Afterwards she was locked her in her room and prayed for a full night for her to freed. That was when her savior came in the form of an uncle she never knew she had.
Blood was the only name he went by, the name that her parents used to refer to the black sheep in the family. He denied the religious ways of the family and had vanished out of their lives long, long ago. However, the night after Agnes’ exorcism, the strange and dark silhouette of the man appeared in her window, his hand freely offered to take her out of this place. Wounded, crying, and traumatized, Agnes merely assumed this man was an apparition from her mind, nothing more, and passed out after she said yes.
The story goes that Blood was a mutant and, like Agnes, had been kicked out of the family. Much of his history is unknown but it was known that he became a skilled hunter, fighter, and all-around soldier. With no information from him, the Nicholas clan simply assumed the man had died, but in reality he had been still watching his family, just from afar. When he heard of what happened to Agnes and then seen the brutal exorcism that she suffered, he felt a pang in his heart. Years of isolation prompted the man to rescue this young girl from any worse fate.
It may seem unlikely that such a brutal and mysterious man as Blood would take on the responsibility of caring for the young girl, but circumstances and loneliness allowed the child to find a place in the man’s displaced heart. Seeing her as just another throw away as he once was, Blood took her in as his and raised her to the best of his abilities.
Over the years, as Agnes grew, so did her connection with the man that she would come to call her Uncle. In his cabin in the woods, Blood would hunt, train, and watch over his niece. When she was healed and ready, he proposed that maybe she could learn something from him, so that she could care for herself. He taught her the ways of hunting and tracking and educated her himself. But at the age of 15, a strange event occurred which would forever change his view of the young girl.
Though Blood began to dedicate himself to the raising of his niece, that didn’t mean that his past would not catch up to him. Unbeknownst to all, Blood had a history steeped in forming covert operations for various governments as a mercenary. Having left the world of assassination and mercenary work behind him, the man attempted to settle into a common and quiet life. Unfortunately this would be interrupted by the intrusion of his past. Old enemies resurfaced and an attempt was made on Blood’s life. Set upon by a trio of skilled thugs, Blood nearly died, or would have, if it was not for the intervention of his now teenage niece, Agnes.
Like before, she didn’t know what happened. She watched in terror from her cabin window as her uncle fought against his attackers. Just when her fear was at its highest, Agnes felt something like a surge or explosion in the back of her mind. Suddenly she ran out and grabbed one of the assailants by his bare wrist and felt the surge of information coursing into her body. Then, to her own surprise, Agnes leapt into the fray to protect for the only person she cared about. Surprisingly she was able to overpower a pair of the thugs, using their exact same level of skill and comparable strength to fend them off while Blood disabled the last one. Once her uncle was free, he finally killed the last two. Blood was distraught that peace would never find him and decided to dedicated his time to life on the run and training Agnes to further care for herself through the means of self- defense.
From here on out, gone were Agnes’ leisurely days of learning to hunt and live off the wild were gone. Instead her life became a one on the run, moving from place-to-place, living in the wilderness and in the metropolitan cities. She was taught to watch her surroundings, to trust no one, and most of all, she learned how to defend herself. Ever since her display of skill during the first incident, Blood became increasingly curious. He trained Agnes tirelessly, helping Agnes to learn that she could copy more advanced techniques from people via touching them. Traveling across the globe, using his saved money from his past work, Agnes and Blood traveled everywhere and anywhere, training and practicing, until one day they just were not swift enough.
At nineteen, Agnes was exceedingly lethal. She had already been trained by her uncle in several skills for several years, but coupled with her abilities, made her a physical match against her aging uncle. These skills were put to the test when the pair found themselves in Paris.
Paris was supposed to be an escape for them. Of all their travels, Agnes loved Paris the best because she found herself able to relax, even if it was only for a moment. As they returned from an outing to their hotel room (using assumed names, of course), they were startled to find themselves ambushed by more hired mercenaries. The one time they allowed themselves to rest and both Blood and Agnes found himself meeting impossible odds – but they met them head on. Agnes fought bravely, shocking their attackers, with how much skill she managed to display for someone her age. Unfortunately her uncle was not the killer he used to be. Though he took down foe after foe, one lucky mercenary hit his mark with a dagger straight into Blood’s heart.
Agnes was distraught. The second she saw it happen, her eyes locked onto his expression as he stared at her for a final time. His body crumpling to the ground, Agnes saw nothing but red. It would be a good hour before a near exhausted Agnes found herself glaring into the eyes of a pain-riddled, terrified, bloody man. Her red-stained fist clutched at the remains of his shirt as she demanded to know why they never left them alone and who he was working for. It was only then that he revealed that it was never her uncle they were after…but her. They were agents of SUPER, an organization dedicated tracking mutants and coercing more powerful ones into working for them.
Upon stepping away from the whimpering man, Agnes looked about the room to see that it was littered with similarly harmed men and women, some breathing painfully, others…not so much. The one thing they all had in common was that fact that they fell at her feet. Her body flushed with adrenaline, Agnes ran to her uncle’s side, finding him dead with the dagger still in his chest. Forcing herself to wave away her emotions, she removed the dagger and closed his eyes before she turned and packed as much as she could.
With that, it was Agnes time to run…on her own.
From that time on, Agnes has fled across the world, dodging trackers and other people who dare try to find her. During her travels, Agnes developed a sense of justice and a need to protect her fellow mutants from SUPER and those people who would use them for misdeeds. This led to the first she would run into X-Men. While breaking into a lab that was using mutants for experiments, she bit off more than she could chew but, thankfully the heroic team arrived as they were investigating the same matter. With the X-Men’s help she freed the captured mutants and was given the opportunity to join them. She promptly told them, and especially a redheaded member of theirs, to “F*** off” off before disappearing into the night. However, this wouldn’t be the last that she met up with the intrepid team of heroes. Several times they crossed paths and each time she was offered membership. Finally, just to shut them up, she agreed.
Now Agnes has something resembling a home and family with the X-Men but she is still coarse and a little rude to them. She is doing this simply to help mutants and learn what she can from SUPER and nothing more.

Mutation description: Living Nest - Agnes has a strange and grotesque ability in which her body has become a home for various swarms of vermin. Inside her body she houses a swarm of roaches, flies, and hornets which she can release through her mouth. Once the swarm is released though, she does have to re-ingest them to restore those she loses. She does not mentally control these creatures, but in fact simply releases them and they defend her fiercely. To house these creatures, her mutation has altered her body to develop these specialized sacs inside of her chest where the swallowed insects are stored. Once inside, they remain in a sort of suspended animation until she releases them. While her insects are in suspended animation, their bodies are fed through nutrients the sacs they reside in provide. This seems adequate to keep them alive and want to defend her should she be in danger.
Strengths:
Insect Types She Houses: Dolichovespula – Yellowjackets - Standard type of yellow and black wasp. These pack a venomous stinger and when released are instantly aggressive. Total Number Housed: 30 (15 per sac) Musca domestica – Housefly – That are the standard housefly that can be seen rooting around garbage. Alone they are harmless, but these are some of Agnes most numerous flies. They create thick clouds that can be a true annoyance. Total Number Housed: 60 (30 per sac) Periplaneta americana – Cockroach – These creepy crawlers are not dangerous alone, but in a swarm and aggressive they can bite, overrun and just generally creep out anyone who gets in their way. Total Number Housed: 40 (20 per sac)
Defend the Nest: The insects she releases will defend her because for all intensive purposes, she is their nest and home, and will cause her no harm. Whenever they are released, that is a sign for them to be battle ready so they are instantly aggressive.
Insect Beacon: Her body has a special scent and feel to it so insects tend to flock around her, thus she has a supply of insects whenever she needs to restore her cache of insects.
Immunity to Insect Toxins: Because of the insects that are housed within her, her body as developed an immunity to the bacteria and toxins that these bugs tend to hold within them. Therefore if she was stung by a wasp, she would feel the pain, but there would be no after effects.
Call to Arms: When these insects are released her body releases a chemical that awakens them from their suspended animation. The chemical also acts like a call to arms, making all her bugs instantly aggressive and ready to harm whatsoever threatens their home (Agnes).
Weaknesses:
Hygiene: Because she houses all these creatures, she does smell vile, naturally since that is what these creatures thrive on. This tends to keep people away from her. [NOTE: Her scent is now only detected by those mutants with a heightened sense of smell]
Insect Consumption:If she loses any of her vermin, whether through battle or natural death, she must swallow others whole in order to replace them. This process is gross and if she has to do it, she does it alone.
No Insect Hivemind: She does not mentally control the swarms, they simply defend her as they would any nest. If they manage to get away from her, or she is knocked out while she they are released, they will wander away and seek a new home.
Only Familiar Insects: The insects she has in her body now, are the only ones who will protect her. She cannot pick up a millipede, swallow it and assume her body will house it. Her mutation is still too new and her body will not recognize the creature and instead pass it down into her digestive system. (Eww!) For now she can only house the Housefly, the Yellowjacket and Cockroaches since those were the first her body adapted to when her mutation developed.
Insect Beacon: Though it is good to have the insects always around in case she needs to consume more, they do follow her everywhere! Stores, restaurants, hotels, etc, if there are no air tight boundaries, her insects will find a way in.
Bug Sacs: The sacs that are inside of her chest are as sensitive as any organ. If Agnes receives a serious wound and any of these sacs are ruptured, it will take a lot of time for them to heal enough to hold insects again. And if bugs are in them if ruptured, the shock will kill them instantly and she will regurgitate them out of her body.
Power Growth:(11/04/2011) Insect Attributes Agnes' mutation has evolved to absorb and mimic the genetic information of the insects she houses. So far she has the ability to gain the wings of a housefly, the tough carapace of a cockroach, and the stingers of a wasp. Unfortunately Agnes can only gain one of these attributes at a time, never all together. To do so she must actually molt in-between gaining these physical changes.
Strengths:
Look Like a Bug: Agnes may gain one of three attributes that her body has evolved to accommodate: - Housefly – Wings – Agnes can grow a pair of housefly wings from her back which are equivalent to her size and are able to support her weight when she flies. Unfortunately they cannot support much more than that. At most she can carry maybe about 50 extra pounds of weight while in flight. In reference to speed, Agnes can fly anywhere between 30 – 35 mph and sustain flight for about 1 hour before she has to rest. Of course at first, Agnes will have to learn and develop her chest and back muscles in order to use her newfound wings effectively.
- Cockroach – Carapace – Agnes can develop a thick carapace of tough skin over her epidermis. This carapace is tough, but it is by no means bullet or knife proof. At most she can take some extra blunt force damage. For example, someone can swing a Louisville Slugger at her arm and it won’t break her arm. It’ll still hurt like hell though. With the carapace attribute Agnes’ skin takes on a slightly off-greenish color and looks a little more rigid than her normal skin.
- Yellowjacket – Stingers – A pair of retractable stingers, about three-inches long grow out from the palms of her hands. These stingers can deliver a non-lethal yet painful poison. It is an extremely weak version of the same wasp venom that the insect already houses. When Agnes delivers it, though, the serves as enough of a painful distraction for her to get away. She only has enough venom for four good stings though. After that she just has pokers in her palms under her body produces more venom which can take up to two days.
Lure of the Queen: Because of her bug attributes, more insects of the same type will be attracted to Agnes' call.
Weaknesses:
Look Like a Bug: Along with the strengths of her attributes, do come the weaknesses… - Housefly – Wings – While Agnes can grow a pair of wings, they can also be highly fragile. If the wings are punctured or broken, they are proven useless until she molts again and therefore has a new set of wings. Also these wings do not retract back into her body. She can bend them neatly against her back but other than that, they stay on her body until she molts to remove them.
- Cockroach – Carapace – This thick layer of skin can prove resilient to some blunt force trauma but it is of no good again a knives or guns. She can still feel pain from blunt force damage but if the carapace is damaged, it stays that way. It will not heal until she molts into a new carapace. Also this attribute does restrict her maneuverability and lowers her speed and reaction time. It also does deaden some of the senses on her skin where the carapace is.
- Yellowjacket – Stingers – She has a limited amount of venom she can release with these stingers. At most she has about four good stings before they are little more than barbs on her hands.
Molting…Ew…: In order for Agnes to access these abilities, she must first molt. This is a 24-hour process in which she sheds her outer layer of skin in order to reveal the new form underneath. How this is done is that Agnes’ skin begins to take on a thin, gray-like hue making her look sickly. Agnes then has to sleep for the process to continue which means that the skin hardens into a shell for her to break out of. Once she is done molting, the newest attribute has appeared right away, but it also leaves Agnes fairly exhausted for another 24-hours. Therefore she cannot shift between attributes on the fly (no pun intended). This also leaves a full size, translucent dead shell of Agnes behind that she must discard which…can just be gross.
Forced to Molt: Agnes may chose to keep an ability she gains, but must molt at least 30 days after her last molting stage. What this means is that Agnes cannot say, keep fly wings for the rest of her life. After a month, her body undergoes a molting stage with or without her say and she switches into the next attribute in the cycle.
Attribute Cycle: Agnes unfortunately cannot summon each individual attribute at will. There is an attribute cycle that follows: Wings – Carapace – Stingers. What this means is that if Agnes currently has the Carapace attribute and wants the Wings attribute, she must molt first into the Stinger phase and then molt again into the Wing phase.
Suggaaaaaaaaaarrr…!: Because of her new found attributes, Agnes, when getting close to molting, will crave a lot of sugar. This is a requirement for her body to handle the stresses of molting, which will take a toll on her. In compensation for her need to feed and lack of energy, her body will immediately crave sugar before she goes into the process so Agnes will have to drop whatever she is going to consume. Thankfully none of this sugar will be processed into fat and will instead be dispersed in order to create the shell she must break out of, but still…it’s inconvenient.
Power Growth: (11/04/12) Increased Capacity / New Insects Agnes body has housed so many insects that her mutation has now evolved to include more. Whereas before she only stored insects in special sacs situation inside of her chest, now her body has altered to include similar sacs that fit in both of her forearms (running from the elbow down to her wrists), and in her legs (from the knees down). In order for insects to have quick access to these new housings, her body has developed specialized slits that run for the length of her forearm and from her knees down. These slits will only open for insects and cannot be opened in any other way. Thankfully they are invisible to the naked eye. On top of this, because of the evolution of her body in include more insects, she will now be able to attract two more types of insect to her body:centipedes and ants.
Strengths:
New Insects She Houses: Scolopendra gigantean – Amazonian Giant Centipede – These large centipedes are extremely poisonous and dangerous. But because of their rarity and size, Agnes only can house two at a time. They are some of her most loyal creatures. Total Number Housed: 2 (1 per arm) Formicidae – Army Ant – Just the basic type of ant. The most important feature of it, though, is its ability to swarm. Because they are so small and crowd together, these are the largest amounts of insects she can hold. Total Number Housed: 400 (200 per leg)
New Look Like a Bug: Centipede – Legs – As the name suggests, Agnes gains hundreds of tiny, pincer-like legs that run along the sides and palms of her hands and fingers, as well as on her feet. The use of these extra legs is that they are so tiny, they work in unison and allow her to scale vertical surfaces and cling onto walls that have porous surfaces. These legs, when working together, are strong enough to hold up her body weight. Ant – Antenna – The long, segmented antennae pop out of the top of Agnes’ head and can bend forward and back. The black antennae can pick up the scents of her fellow insects, allow her to follow their invisible trails, even communicate more easily with them.
Weaknesses:
New Bug Sacs: These new insect containers, in her forearms and legs, are closer to the bone and surface, and therefore are most sensitive and prone to being damaged as opposed to the ones inside her chest. If the sacs are ruptured, she must wait until they heal fully before she can accept insects there.
New Look Like a Bug: Centipede – Legs – The main weakness of all these legs is that they are just creepy. She cannot retract them. At most she can fold them flat, but it still leaves her sense of a touch a little muddled since it is like weaving a glove only over the palm of her hand and bottoms of her fingers. Also, if she lose any (they snap off, are burned off, etc.), not only will it be harder to hold up her weight, but she will have to wait until she molts again to regain the full number. Ant – Antenna – Though they are tough, they are extremely sensitive. If they are tugged, cut, forcefully removed, it will hurt a extreme amount. On top of that, like many of her features, she cannot retract these antenna, they are there until she molts again.
Power Growth: (04/22/17) Hive Queen Form Agnes has reached the final stage of her evolution into the perfect hosts for insects. Dubbed, ”The Hive Queen”, Agnes has the ability to shift at will into a terrifying half-insect / half-humanoid. While in this form, Agnes has access to all of her physical mutations, including a thick carapace, stingers, wings, as well as the ability to produce a previously unknown parasite called Agnesiparasitus cerebrum (The Agnes Brain Parasite). While in this form, Agnes is lethal, less like the young woman most know her as. Strengths:
Strengthened Body: This form actually affords Agnes with a plethora of abilities. She has access to all her physical mutations which include: stingers (filled with venom), wings (so she can fly), antennae (communication with her insects and enhanced sense of smell), thick carapace (strong enough to shrug off a lead pipe swung into her), and insect legs (planted on the pads of her feet and her palms so she can climb walls)
Agnesiparasitus cerebrum: While only in this form, Agnes’s body can produce a microscopic parasite. It can only be administered into insects via her coming in contact with her blood. Once inside the parasites immediately make for the brain and nervous system of the infected bugs; once infected, the insects fall under Agnes’ control. This increases the ranks of her army of insects so she will no longer only have those within her body under control.
Prehensile Limbs: You can’t be an insect with only four limbs. Thanks to her Hive Queen form, Agnes forms four, long prehensile limbs that jut out from her back like spider legs. However, these limbs are tipped with four large spines, capable of stabbing, slashing, and clinging onto surfaces.
Fierce Defenders: When Agnes shifts into her Hive Queen form, the insects that dwell in her body become extremely protective. Their aggression is heightened and they are more willing to sacrifice their lives to protect her. They will even straight out attack Agnes’ allies and require firmer commands from her to pull them back.
Insta-Molting: Unlike her previous forms that she has to cycle through, the Hive Queen is a somewhat instantaneous form that doesn’t have a place in her regular molting cycle. If Agnes finds herself in a completely dire situation (fearful, angry, life on the line), she will activate the sleeping Hive Queen within. By tearing off her skin, Agnes unveils the insect queen inside. When she calms and makes the decision to return to her human form, the insect carapace withers away, revealing a nude Agnes inside.
Altered Thinking: Agnes Nicholas is usually quite timid. However should she be pushed to the point that the Hive Queen appears, Agnes has a very different and much more confident outlook. First and foremost she cares only about the survival of her insects and insect-kind. Second she is more deadly, willing to kill without thought if she believes she is right. And lastly she can be seductive, choosing to seduce her minions however she sees fit.
Weaknesses:
Wounding, Harm, Death: Despite the enhanced capabilities, Agnes can still be wounded and/or killed, it just takes more. Guns, finely sharpened swords, energy, etc., all of that can still kill Agnes in her Brood Mother form if they can pierce her carapace.
Stressful Shifting: Agnes won’t be able to shift into the Hive Queen at form at will. It requires her adrenaline to spike in an extremely terrifying or life or death situation. Only when extremely stressed will Agnes be able to shift into the Hive Queen.
Survival of the Strongest: While in this form, Agnes has a mentality that only the strong survive. She is all about the survival of insects and maintaining, even growing beyond, their place in the world. This puts her at odds with people who would normally be considered friends as Agnes doesn’t really see friends from enemies any more, and only acts against threats to the hive.
Monstrous Appearance: Her Hive Queen form is not an easy thing to look act. She is a mismatch of insects in a humanoid shape and that makes her quite terrifying. People who are not used to her, even those that are, will run screaming as she embodies the nightmares of every man, woman, and child.
In Need of Convincing: Becoming the Hive Queen greatly alters Agnes’ thinking. She cares only about the hive and her subjects and is extremely neutral considering anything else. Because of this she loses interest in her human side and at times can see no point in returning to it. She needs to be convinced to reach for her humanity to transform back, or she could choose to stay this way for as long as she likes.
Painful Transition: Shifting between forms is not a simple or pleasurable task. Unlike her molting cycle where Agnes cocoons herself and transforms slowly, the instantaneous transformation is actually very painful. When Agnes, the Hive Queen form lies underneath her skin and she is compelled to rip it away to release her. When shifting from Hive Queen to Agnes, her carapace withers and becomes a husk that she breaks through to reveal the nude young woman inside. Time is required between shifting as it exhausts her.
Power Growth REVISION: (03/31/20) Behold the Insect As an affect of he de-aging, Agnes abilities have altered slightly. Before she rotated between all of her insect attributes when she wasn't in Hive Queen form. She would go up to 30 days with one attribute and then would have to cocoon and do it again. However, now her abilities have altered after one final cocoon evolution where she now has all these attributes available to her all the time. She no longer needs to rotate through them but rather they are always active and she must arrange her life to exist with them always available.
Fly Wings:PRO: A pair of iridescent wings protrude from her back, allowing her the ability to fly. CON: Wings are easily breakable.
Roach Carapace:PRO: A tough carapace. It is compact and underneath her skin, making her look normal. CON: Not impenetrable. Can be broken.
Wasp Stingers:PRO: Retractable stingers set in the palms of her hands. CON: Has to make sure they are retracted before touching. Can definitely hurt.
Ant Antennae:PRO: Increases her sense of smell. CON: Strong smells can be a little much for her.
Centipede Legs:PRO: Thin legs protrude from the pores of her hands, allowing her to stick and climb to walls. CON: Has to make sure they are retracted as could make her inadvertently stick to things.
