The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As Soon as Mike landed in the infermary with the injuried wolf girl, every assitant was on them like a fly on a dumpster. THe wolf girl was lifted from telepath's arms and onto a strecher, though she was still out cold they began to examine what wounds where susitaned.
Doc Proff came out of his office and looked at Emerald with wide eyes. "My god what the hell happened? She couldnt have gotten this all from racing! Mike what happened?"
((Okay could you list the wounds doc sees on emmy?))
The knuckle on Emerald's left pinkie was crushed fairly badly by the pliers, and where there should have been a fingernail on that finger there was an acid burn. Her right hand was badly burned by the lighter, and her face had a long, acid-burned slash running from her right ear own to her chin. On top of that, she was badly beaten, with signs of a few broken ribs at least.
"Religion in action," Mike said dryly, still maintaining his hold on Emmy's mind. "The Church of Humanity must've come off badly on a bet on her race, because they ran her off the road, took her, and tortured her. I think they were planning on broadcasting a tape of the session."
He idly wondered when Daria and the rest of the 'family' would make it back.
Now even though Emmy's mind was in a totally calm state that didn't mean she wasn't thinking a few things like.
Those assholes trashed my bike. Why am I so cold..I hate being cold cant doc get me a blanket or something? I hope johnny is alright, I think he and I may need to talk when I see him next.
Jade burst through the doors, angry as a steamed lobster. The woman growled lowly, "Damn it why didn't we fine Emerald before she got hurt!" Jade exclaimed
Ruby's ears flattened to her head, tail curling around her body complacently. "Because you took the wrong turn and we somehow ended up in a different city." Ruby replied
Jade sighed deeply, "I knew I should have brought that GPS thing." She grumbled
Ruby was the first to make it over to the stretcher. Her eyes widened. "Emmy..." She looked at Mike. "What happened, Who did this and-"
"Where the Hell can I buy a gun to shoot whoever did." Jade finished upon seeing her daughters condition.
"I think you'll have to buy that gun in the next life, because all of the ones who touched her are dead," Mike answered flatly. "Along with a good number of their friends who didn't touch her."
"Bikes are replaceable and rebuildable... you, however, are only fixable, so just calm yourself while the doctors work. And Johnny's alive... for whatever good or bad that might mean," Mike thought to Emmy, tweaking her heat receptors so a warm feeling spread over her body. He idly put a hand on Ruby's shoulder as he watched the doctors work, flinching here and there at an unexpected pain that got rerouted to his mind before it could reach Emmy's.
Jade snapped her fingers irritably, cursing under her breath. "Damn, you guys couldn't have left one alive? I wanted to watch one squirmed as I gave him frost bite and then tore off his arms one by one." Jade growled, tail lashing back and forth.
Emerald was relieved when a comforting feeling of warmth went through her body. She tried her best not to morph into wolf form because she wanted to curl up into a snuggly ball of fur like she usually did when she was warm. But the wolf girl had a feeling her bruised limbs, broken bones and open lacerations wouldn't allow her to do so.
"Um Mike, make sure Emmy doesn't wake up when the doctors are around her. She may...freak out and bite someones hand." Ruby said, ears flattened.
"She's not waking up soon, don't worry. I need to think a trigger word for her to come out of this," Mike assured her. Then he smirked at their mother, adding "And I'll remember that next time. 'Could you please just sit in the corner for a while? I'd kill you myself, but her mother wants a shot at you first.'"
"OH! How about you say the word Lunchtime. That will probably be a good trigger to snap her out of it!" Ruby exclaimed, her ever optimism shining through.
Jade however grinned evilly at the prospect of shooting the assailants that had attacked her daughter. "That will be perfect dear, maybe you could put a bow around their head or something like that." Jade laughed lightly at the thought. She was obviously where Emerald got her sense of humor from.
Ruby's eyes widened a bit, ears perking up. "Sapphire....but how? How did she not try to do anything besides save emmy? I thought the darkness was is control of her how is it not in control anymore Mike?" Ruby asked
Mike shrugged. "She didn't say that. She DID say she was going to come stay with Emmy while she's in here for a while, so you can ask her then. Although don't tell her I mentioned that, she might decide that killing me isn't such a bad idea. Again," he smirked.
"And now, I'd better check in with Tricity... she needs to know what happened. Keep an eye on her, have someone come get me if she looks like she's stirring." And with a final, sad look at Emerald, Cass headed out of the infirmary.
Tricity and Mike came into the infirmary moments later. Passing the baby to one of the medical assistants, she quickly rushed to Emerald's side where she noticed the familiar faces of the girl's family. She'd never actually talked with them long, but always remembered a face. Tricity looked down at Emerald and felt her heart sink. "Oh, Em...What did they do to you?"
"She can't answer... I have her locked asleep until it's safe for her to wake up," Mike answered, relieving the flustered medical assistant of the baby. "They weren't joking around, though. Had a full Spanish inquisition of torture for her, shot Johnny in the chest a few times... or at least it looked like they did. Who knows with that asshole," he sighed. He idly tickled the baby's hand to make him grab his finger.
Tricity pulled a chair next to the bed and sat down, keeping her eyes on Emerald. "Where was this? And why and what was she racing exactly? I didn't hear anything about this."
