The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mike smiled slightly, despite himself, as he bounced the baby a bit to keep him calm. "Emmy's motocross racing? Y'know, lots of training, getting really good at it? Won the big race today... except someone seemed to take exception to that because she's a mutant, and it just went downhill from there."
Tricity's face suddenly washed over with recognition. "Oh, that's right. God, I totally forgot she was getting into that. I've been so busy..." She looked over at the baby. "I'm sure you've seen the many new residents we have here since you've been... well, away. Don't know if you've heard, though I'm sure you have, Daria is becoming my assistant. I can't do all this by myself anymore."
"She mentioned it, yes," Mike nodded. "I told you before all this happened... delegate delegate delegate. You're the boss, make us remember it." The baby, now awake, was cooing happily. It was impossible to tell if Mike was getting that reaction because of his powers or not. "Anything you can throw at me to keep me busy, I'm game. I mean, look at me, I've only been back a day and I've been bored enough to cause major property damage and get in an armed fight," he said, only half-joking.
Tricity gave a smirk and shook her head with disapproval. "Something I STILL don't understand, though I'm glad you were able to help with Emerald. Have your powers helped you get better so quickly or is it the Doc.. or maybe a bit of both?"
The Doc gave Tricity a harassed, 'don't ask me' look, clearly saying that he had nothing to do with it. Mike shot the Lupin family a glance, then walked with Tricity to one of the abandoned cots. "It's... hard to explain," he starte, his eyes glowing gold. "I was... just wandering, in the meantime. Sleeping with no mind at home in the body. Kind of... lost out there, dealing with the sort of things you can only find if you fight in the Astral Plane."
"Well, I wouldn't know much about it, thankfully. I've only been to the astral plane once and hope to never go back again. It's very... well, strange." She looked up at him with questioning eyes. "Were you aware of yourself? Or what was happening?"
"I was aware of myself. Selves. Ah, God this is confusing." He sighed, slumping over in his chair (the baby floating easily over to Tricity), and a golden glow detatched itself from his body.
It was exactly how Daria had seen it when his spirit returned to his boy. A golden-figure stood next to Michael, wings spread behind him, a look of power in his eyes that was familiar. Finally, it faded and Mike opened his eyes again. "For most of it, I was looking through his eyes," he said simply. "Sort of an observer as my soul and power were taken for a ride."
Tricity took the baby and rocked him slightly as she waited for Mike to find his words. Suddenly the image of what seemed to be an angel appeared next to Mike. She was taken aback by the sudden appearance and stepped backward a couple steps. The angelic image faded away and Mike spoke once more. She hesitated in reply. "...And what exactly is he?"
"You're asking the wroooong person," Mike chuckled. "For lack of a better description... an angel. It's... the closest comparison I can find is the Phoenix. It cohabits with a host's body... nudging their actions here and there, but generally lets them use its power combined with their own."
"Bear in mind, this is all stuff I'm just barely starting to understand."
Tricity's eyebrow raised with confusion and then she shrugged, shaking her head. "I swear you telepaths are all the bloody same. Just as perplexing as the next." She nudged him in the shoulder playfully. "Just glad to have you back and up and about. No matter how you explain any of it, I'll never fully understand."
"It hurts my brain just to think about it sometimes, honestly. I'm much more comfortable when he doesn't come out to play."
"As for the rest of my recovery... the general thought is that my telekinesis helps push my body through its recovery, forcing it back into shape. Don't ask me what that means, either."
"Believe me I won't," she said with a slight laugh. Tricity walked back over to the chair where Emerald lay unconscious. She grabbed the girl's hand and gave it a slight squeeze. "Em, you're in good hands now. We'll get you all fixed up."

Daria appeared next to Mike, giving him a kiss on the cheek. she was glad he was okay and would've been mad that she couldn't help but having grown a bit in the last couple months Daria realized she had a place and a job for every situation. This time, it was a mix of being lost with Jade and keeping the kids safe.
She looked down at emmy and stroked the girl's hair, smiling fondly at her 'little sister'.
Ruby turned into fox form and nudged her older sisters hand, she was worried about her big sis. The pup whined softly, licking her older siblings hand. She looked at Mike expectantly, as if asking her if he could wake her up.
Jade smiled at the couple, remembering when vincent and her where like that. They still where in her eyes except the fact that they where alot older. She then looked back at her daughters , slightly concerned. She had a feeling Emerald wouldnt be happy when she woke up, but...she would have family and friends to calm her wolfy butt down.
