The elevator doors opened and Lenna left to procure the Fordasaurus as the Ranger pushed the cart into the elevator. He pressed the close door button and then toggled the emergency switch. That done he flipped up the cover that was laid over the cart to conceal the cart itself from view. He then took the boxxed paintings and slid them into the bottom of the cart.
There was no sense in him just waltzing out into the ballroom and then having to wait for the truck risking more chance for someone to realize he doesn't need to be pushing around the cart. Instead he delayed a couple minutes in the elevator before hitting the switch again and opening the elevator doors.
He pushed the cart out into the ballroom again, and made his way across it toward the entrance. The thing about people is that the more of them there are the less they are about what other people are doing and as such are less likely to interfere, especially if someone appears to be moving with a purpose.
Reaching the entrance he could see the truck had been pulled up and Lenna was waiting on him. The doorman opened the door and gave him a funny look as he pushed the cart through, though once he had passed the threshold the man addressed this, "Uh...Sir? Where do you think your going with that?"
"Ta the truck." he replied as he continued on his way.
"No, that has to stay here. You can't take it with you."
"Well ain't you tighter than tree bark." He stopped the cart by the truck. and slid out the paintings. "Fine you can keep it." He then kicked the cart back at the doorman who was confused as to what was happening, knocking him back. The Ranger put the paintings in the back of the truck and made his way around to the driver's side door and jumped up inside, waited for Lenna to join him, and pulled away from the building the roar of the diesel engine drowning out the noise of the city.
"Where're we takin' these?"

"Hmph." She couldn't help but be amused when Michael launched the food cart at the doorman. The poor guy saw it coming all too clearly. He couldn't do jack. She climbed up into the big truck as Michael boarded the other side.
Her belt buckled into place. Lenna turned to Michael. Where were they taking the paintings? Lenna told him. Destination set, the behemoth barreled its way away from the ball.
