The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hmmm. The last one didn't rhyme, and Kealey couldn't help but think that those were a lot of -tion words. Where had they come from? She didn't know, and honestly she didn't care. Her mind was wandering in all sorts of interesting directions at the moment and she left it alone. In fact, she was kind of glad she could think at all. That had been...a lot. A good kind of a lot...the type of a lot that she wouldn't mind replicating a few billion times, but still. A lot.
Kealey wasn't sleepy. It was kind of the middle of the day and there was way too much else to pay attention to. When she'd knocked on Shin's door to give him his presents and show him her uniform, this hadn't been what she'd planned on happening. She wasn't complaining to her mental self, and this was something she'd figured would happen at some point, but the timing had been a bit of a surprise.
…that reminded her.
Kealey giggled a bit and ran a hand through her thoroughly tousled hair, wondering exactly where it was her ponytail holder had gone, then snuggled back into the comfy blankets and comfy Shin. Comfy Kealey was comfy when she said, ”Shin. Didn’t you say you had something to show me earlier, before we got…distracted? ”

Comfy. That was a good word. What word would Shin have used to describe it? Heavenly. Kealey was... well, there weren't many words that really did her justice. Angelic had to do. And, wait, that 'was'? It was more like an 'is'. There was no past-tense. Heck, there was no tense at all. Lying under the sheets with her, Shin was relaxed. His mind was free to wander. With all that freedom, it was strange how it didn't wander too far.
He still couldn't believe it. Kealey... As he stared up at the ceiling, arms behind his head, he just couldn't stop thinking about her. Even if he was laying right next to her, he couldn't stop... they'd really just done that. He hadn't even imagined that was how things would go when she had arrived at his door in a bath robe... though, if they were speaking honestly, he'd kind of hoped...
A bubble of amusement welled up inside him. For a second, he wanted to laugh at himself. You're so bad, Tetsuya... But at least Kealey hadn't minded. She hadn't minded a lot of things. Man, she's great.
She was.
His head rolled to the side on the pillow, and he stared at her again. That hair, those eyes, everything... yeah, he had to be the luckiest guy alive right now. There was some billionaire sailing in his yacht somewhere with his supermodel wife feeling lower on the happiness ladder than Shin. She snuggled up against his chest, and he let an arm wrap instinctively around her.
A small 'hmh' of a chuckle escaped him as she reminded him. That was right. Distracted. Why did he like that word? He smiled an all-knowing smile. "That's right." Because it was her. She was distracting, in the best kind of way. But now, he'd show her.
He held up his free arm, focusing on the outstretched hand, on splayed fingers. His eyes wavered as he drummed up the mental schematics for it. Slowly, small triangles like pixels floated over the tips of his fingers, down the digits, to the inner webbing of his hand... all the way to two inches past his wrist. They were white pixels, forming a glove. Perfectly manipulated pixels, forming small pyramids and rounded shapes. Dodecahedrons, any shape, what have you. He'd done the math already. There was no reason to hash it out for anyone but himself. When he was finished, half a minute later, his right hand was covered in a white glove made of shards. The glove wasn't shiny... at least, not in this light. It might have had a slight sheen to it, if there had been spotlights. It didn't glitter, didn't look scaly. It was, for all intents and purposes, a glove.
Shin wiggled his fingers, and smiled at her. "Shard Glove." He poked her gently in the nose. "Not sharp. Smooth. See?"

It was almost funny to Kealey, as she snuggled into Shin and he wrapped his arm around her, how easy it had become to know how she felt. It wasn't always the case, sometimes it still felt like there was an entire population of people living in her head, making her feel and act like someone she didn't even know. When she was with Shin, though, Kealey was positive. Always. She knew it wasn't anything to do with her powers, they worked the same way no matter where she was and what she was doing.
It was him.
The whole time she'd known Shin, it had been a little remarkable to Kealey how well he'd understood her. Their initial friendship had been so easy because of it, and he'd never judged her harshly when her powers reacted adversely to an environment. He was almost ridiculously good looking in a completely unassuming way, he respected her opinion, he was patient, unfailingly kind, honest, earnest...Kealey could have gone on in her head forever without even trying. She didn't say it out loud, she didn't need to. He knew how she felt, and he knew how careful she was when she felt something. It made it all a little bit better.
She also knew how he felt. It kind of made her want to smirk for a year, or cry, or both, or something else completely random and ridiculous. Shin had seen her do random and ridiculous things before, and he hadn't minded them in the least. This, all these feelings, everything that had happened. This was love, and it was more than a little thrilling and terrifying at the same time to dwell on how completely the feeling permeated into a person.
Kealey had asked about the thing Shin was going to show her, and he responded with an amused chuckle. Had he thought that she would forget? The blond smiled as she waited for her explanation or demonstration. As long as it didn't require Shin leaving the bed, they were good to go.
He moved his other arm, and Kealey shifted slightly so she could look up. Nothing happened at first, but she was patient because she had felt the change in Shin's emotions. He was concentrating. Kealey kept watching, and then the little white shards started to appear. Kealey's eyes widened as they came together over his hand. He'd done it. It took about half a minute, and there it was. A perfectly formed white glove. A perfectly formed, bulletproof, knife proof, X-Man occupational hazard proof, glove.
"Ohhhhh." Kealey breathed, laughing with delight when Shin poked her on her nose. It was smooth. "Awesome." she said, at a loss for any other words to describe how impressed she was. "You figured all of that out in one night, and it moves with your fingers? You're good...I mean...I knew you were good before...but this is pretty incredible Shin" There had been so many of the tiny shards...tiny shards that had to fit together in exactly the right way for the glove to look like a glove. It really was an amazing thing. "How long you make it stay?" she asked reaching up a hand to touch the smooth surface of the glove again. Surely he'd been prepared for more curiosity.

"Not one night," he gently corrected her. "It took a while. Lots of practice." He was glad to see she was impressed, though. It was really impressive, wasn't it? "It stays as long as I want it to... unless I get knocked unconscious. There's no 99.9 second timer on this one. Speaking of," He pulled the hand away from Kealey's curious fingers, raising it up in the air again boldly.
Again, his mind focused. This next summon was easier. Blades weren't as complicated as gloves. It only took a few seconds. Shards fluttered in the air over a vaguely-defined shape, like moths around a flame. The shape started at the tip, working back. It lengthened, became more defined, sharpened. The shape of the sword stood out after 4 seconds. At 10, the moths scattered into nothingness. A silver blade hovered, in their place. The last thing to form was the black handle. The sword lowered into Shin's outstretched gloved grip. It was a replica of Saejima Kouga's soul metal sword, and it... was awesome.
He'd also bought her a stuffed Bulbasaur. He could have showed her that now, but that would have involved getting up out of bed, and giving her something she could snuggle, when he was right there. That wasn't gonna happen. Instead, he swung his sword once through the air overhead, and grinned at her. He let go of the sword and let it hover up, spin once in the air, and vanish without a trace. The white glove snapped. It was gone too. Like a master magician, Shin acted as it this was all routine. Common-place.
"I still need a bit more practice, but... I'm pretty pleased with how things today turned out." He said. "What about you?"

Kealey nodded her head in understanding when Shin pointed out that it had actually taken him quite a while to manage the glove he’d just show her. It made sense. The math he used was way beyond her skill set, and Kealey knew it. Numbers had never been her strong suit unless they were in relation to measurements on cloth. It didn’t matter though, it was still amazing that he could make a glove with his mind. Kealey didn’t bring any of that up, though. Shin was plenty confident about his abilities here.
She had to laugh when he pointed out that there was no 99.9 second limit on the armor he made, ”Well, at least I don’t have to worry about you turning into some crazy demon monster then.” she commented, building on his GARO reference with one of her own. ”Besides, I think you’ll have plenty to concentrate on making sure that the armor stays where it should and the world doesn’t see you in your knickers.” Not that she’d allow that, of course. Shin would have something to wear, even just under the armor. The joke was still funny though…at least to her.
It seemed he had another trick up the sleeves he wasn’t wearing, and Kealey watched as Shin moved his hand away and concentrated again. This took less time to materialize and Kealey’s eyes widened again. There was a lot of that going on…but what other reaction was there when a huge sword just materialized out of thin air.
”It looks like you’re set…” she commented, grinning the whole time. ”It never ceases to amaze me how good you are with your powers.” It was true. The only time she’d ever seen him falter was the time he’d fallen down in the hallway outside the living room…something so small, when she was struggling all the time.
Shin went on to comment on the fact that he’d need more practice and Kealey just nodded her head, a whole outfit was a lot more than just a glove and a sword. It would be so amazing when he was finished though…Kealey couldn’t wait to see.
It turned out he was also happy about the way the afternoon had gone, and the blond couldn’t help but laugh a little. He wanted to know what she thought, and Kealey scooted up so her head was by his on the pillow and she could look at him right in the eyes.
