The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Back in the kitchen, Neena was amazed to find the groceries still sitting on the counter, intact. Well, almost intact. A case of soda pop seemed to have vanished, along with two bags of potato chips, a bag of pretzels, and one of caramel popcorn. And a loaf of bread.
Neena rolled her eyes, and chuckled, then set about putting everything else away.
"Thats so much better. Hey, lets turn on the television, see whats on.''
By that time Neena had climbed up onto the counter and was sticking things in the cupboards. She pointed toward one of the doorways.
"Well, if you want to watch videos or DVDs, you'll need to use the center in the living room. Otherwise you can flip that one on," she pointed the other way to a small 16" screen set into the wall above the nook table. "Um, the remote is supposed to be right next to it, but it seems to have developed legs lately. At least, it ends up in the strangest places," she laughed.
Deja smiled at the comment Neema made. "Your kidding, right, Right!' Deja was a little weirded out by it but got over it quickly. Deja then turned on the 16in tv and flipped to the news. "Hey, I remember this". Deja then looked at Neema, how about you?" Deja quickly grabbed her water and began drinking it.

Neena stiffened a bit as Deja switched it to the news. But she didn't say anything; she was trying to keep her thoughts under wraps for the sake of the students.
Instead she said, "I really don't pay much attention to the new anymore. It's always the same doom and gloom." She added a chuckle for good measure.
"So, tell me Deja, if you don't mind me being nosy. How is your family handling you being 'gifted'?"
It may have been obvious she was trying to change the subject, maybe not. Either way, she was curious about Deja's family. Her own hadn't been thrilled.
Deja then gloomed, not wanting to talk about it. 'Well, my father doesnt really know because..." Deja could barely finish the words. "He has altimers, so he doesn't remember me at all, he's at a mental facility, for some reason I dont know.
Deja then turned off the television. Deja then started to speak.
"My mother...is the one who sent me to the mansion. She wasnt actually happy about it, but she knew, I had to go. But she acted very weird, when she foundout, like she has had this experience before." Deja then drunk her water.

"Well, my father doesnt really know because... He has altimers, so he doesn't remember me at all, he's at a mental facility, for some reason I dont know."
"Alzheimers? Man, that's gotta be rough. I'm sorry to hear that."
"My mother...is the one who sent me to the mansion. She wasnt actually happy about it, but she knew, I had to go. But she acted very weird, when she foundout, like she has had this experience before."
"Really? Hmm..." Neena paused, then asked, "Do you have any brothers or sisters?"
She noticed that there were three opened jars of peanut butter in the cabinet, and no jelly. She shook her head, and wondered what percent of the mansion were teenage boys. If she didn't know any better she'd swear her brother was living there.
"Not that, I know of'', Deja said . Iy's okay, he's been like that since, i was young..so I've dealt as much as I possibly can. Deja then paused, trying not to show sadness. You know what, I've decided to get it over with and go to the danger room. I want to solve my problem fast and be not afraid to hurt others. Deja then smiled, looks like the peanut butter is gone." Deja then chuckled, waiting for Iris's response.

Neena got down from off of her knees, and sat on the counter. "Whoa! Take it easy, kiddo," she replied with a soft laugh. "Control's not going to happen overnight. With your type of mutation, we need to talk to Miss Tipper first. She'll know best about how to go about helping you. As for the Danger Room, I can show you around there anytime." She smiled kindly. Not being able to control your mutation had to be hard to deal with.
"Looks like the peanut butter is gone."
Neena glanced back up at the cupoard. "Well, I'm sure I'll be going shopping again. If not tomorrow, the day after. Glad Miss Tipper has a big grocery budget..."
Deja quickly smiled and spoke. "Your right, I'm overirrashing things. I should enjoy myself, this week." Deja then took a sip of her water. "So, where are youer parents?" deja quickly asked the question. "Also we neeed milk, I'm a cereal kinda person. Deja then looked at Neema, while finishing up her water.

Neena was glad Deja seemed to be easy-going about things so far.
"So, where are your parents?"
Neena thought about that one. She hadn't thought about her folks in a long time. "Well, come to think of it, I'm not sure exactly. I lost track of them when I came here the first time, and never looked them up when I went back. Hmm.... I guess I should think about doing that one day...." Neena shrugged, then smiled again.
"Also we neeed milk, I'm a cereal kinda person."
"Any particular kind?" Neena pushed off of the counter and began going through the drawers for a pen and paper. She wrote 'Grocery List' in bold letters across the top, added a few things, then stuck it to the fridge with a magnet. Maybe the kids would get the hint if she put it there.
Deja then smiled. "Cinnamon toast crunch, is my favorite. Deja then saw Neema jot down a list.
"Well good luck with that, so when do I get my room?'' Deja then stretched her arms out and yawned. Deja then replied to Neema's parents comment.
"Yeah, that'll be a great idea, you should do it." Deja then asked another question.
"Where are all the students?' Ive not seen one yet. " Deja then chuckled. "I'm joking, I know I'll see them soon." Deja then yawned and waited for Neema to speak.

Raina came around the corner and made her way to the kitchen. All of her power using was seriously draining her to the point she barley had a voice. She knew she needed some food. Making her way around she didn't noticed the two girls at first- she was on a mission to eat! She opened the fridge, found a bag of carrots, pulled one out and started munching when she realised a little embaressed that there were others in the room. She spun on her heels.

(OOC: Glad to have you. ;D)
"Cinnamon toast crunch, is my favorite." Neena added that to the list. "Well good luck with that, so when do I get my room?''
"I'll let Miss Tipper know you want a roommate, then she'll let you know when one is matched up. So for now, you can go ahead and pick any empty room on the girls' side, 'kay?" she replied, and winked. "Careful though, you get to enjoy a room to yourself." She was teasing of course.
Neena paused momentarily in her activity as another person entered, a young woman. To Neena's eyes she looked decidedly tired. She didn't seem to notice them at first, her attention focused on the fridge. When she pulled out a bag of carrots, Neena grinned.
"Well, I'm glad to finally see someone eating healthy 'round here for once."
The girl appeared startled. "Wow! Oh Sorry ladies, didn't mean to interrupt!"
"You didn't interrupt," Neena assured her. "We were just making another grocery list. Feel free to add anything to it you'd like. I'll probably be going out again tomorrow." She tilted her head slightly, realizing that the woman's voice was hoarse and tired. "Would you like me to make you some tea for that throat? Sounds like a bit of a cold coming on. Have you seen the DocProf yet?
"I'm Neena, by the way, on of the new teachers. This is Deja, a new student here."
She turned and reached for the mugs and tea bags, trying to find the echinaecia-mint and honey. "Hmm... I can make you a hot toddie. You look old enough for that. At least eighteen, right?"

Raina blushed "21 actually..." she laughed. "A little younger looking then I am I know, they tell me it'll be good for me in the long run." She winked and grabbed a stool. "Anything you think would help my throat would be great." she rubbed her sore neck and smiled at the girls.
"I'm Raina." she said introducing herself. "I haven't run into you two yet, have you just arrived?"
Deja smiled as she glanced at the new girl. "Yeah, I can see your throat's hurting, tea should work. By the way, I'm Deja. Im a new student here. Deja then looked in the fridge for another bottle of water. She quickly began gulping down, the refreshing bottle. "Wow, so what is your abilitie." Deja wondered, then looked at Neema. "Okay, I'll find a room, later on." Deja then looked at the two.

"21 actually... A little younger looking then I am I know, they tell me it'll be good for me in the long run."
Neena chuckled and began extracting ingredients from the various cabinets and cupboards. "Ah, don't worry about it kiddo. It's not how old you look, it's how old you act that get's the reaction that matters." Of course, living by that motto could be the reason some people had a hard time taking the thirty-year-old seriously.
"I'm Raina. I haven't run into you two yet, have you just arrived?"
"Nice to meet you Raina. Yeah, I've only been here a few days. Still getting lost and everything, despite the map," Neena teased. She pulled out the tea pot and filled it with hot water, then added lemon juice, lemon slices, and cranberry juice. "Be right back," she announced, and left the kitchen.
The pot had just started to squeal when she returned, carrying a gallon liquor bottle filled about three quarters of the way with a clear liquid. She winked at Raina. "Special stash for emergencies."
She listened to the girls talk as she pulled the pot off of the eye and filled the mug. The fresh smell of lemon filled the room. She added a spoonful of honey to cut the sour, then added half a shot of the clear liquor. She tasted a spoonful before setting the spoon in the sink.
"Mmm.... Maybe I should make myself one of those...." She licked her lips, and chuckled. She handed the hot mug to Raina. "It's a bit different than the normal toddie, but it usually does the same thing. It might burn going down, but hopefully it'll help a bit."
She began returning things to their places, and set the liquor next to her purse, to be later returned to the locked trunk in her room.
