The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Raina smiled happy to be in the company of someone older and appreciative of a little spiced drink. She brought the warm liquid to her lips and took a sip feeling it trickle down her throat like liquid fire. It burned at first, but then a plesant after affect of soothing feelings followed. "mmm... you're right.' she coughed. "Little spicey, but it does feel better." she smiled
She turned to Deja. "I'd give you a demonstration, but I can only use my ability when I sing." she smiled and winked. "Maybe later."
Deja quickly looked at Raina and spoke. ''Okay cool, maybe when your voice clears up." deja then glanced at Neema. "Well guys, I'll be right back, gonna put my bags up in a room. Deja then smiled as she made her way upstairs. Deja quickly then remembered her baggs were on the floor. Deja then quickly went backdown and got them from the kitchen.
"Forgot they were here, be right back." Deja finally made her way upstairs and opened up a room door.

"Oooh, a mutation that has to do with singing? Can't wait to hear that one," Neena agreed warmly. She'd always loved to listen to the villagers sing; it was probably the one thing she missed about her grandfather, other than his cooking, that was.
"Well guys, I'll be right back, gonna put my bags up in a room."
Neena nodded and held up the girl's folder. "All right Deja. I'll just drop this off with Miss Tipper, and she'll get the roommate thing straightened out, 'kay? Welcome to the Mansion!" she added as the girl disappeared.
She glanced at Raina and motioned toward the mug. "I can make you another one of those if you need it. Just be sure you're near a bed by then, 'cause unless you can really hold your liquor, you'll be out before ya know it." She laughed quietly, but she was serious.
"So did you strain your throat singing? Or just got a cold?"

Raina nodded " Singing, using my ability. We had some things going on in the mansion recently... my mutation isn't very strong and i overexerted myself." she admitted a little embaressed. "Such things are to be expected when you live with mutants." she shrugged.
"What about you? What's your ability?" and as she watched Deja leave she added, "and hers? She looks like one of the younger teens here."

" Singing, using my ability. We had some things going on in the mansion recently... my mutation isn't very strong and i overexerted myself. Such things are to be expected when you live with mutants."
Neena nodded. "Yeah, I noticed the damage. Looks like a wild party got out of control. And true, things tend to be unpredictable 'round us."
"What about you? What's your ability?"
Neena tapped her glasses. "Sensitive eyes that come equipped with a variety of different sights. Telescopic, microscopic, heat, etcetera, etcetera. I'm one of the new teachers."
"and hers? She looks like one of the younger teens here."
"Yes, she is. If I understood it right, her dreams become reality. It looks like she's got a lot of potential," she added thoughtfully. Then she motioned toward Raina's throat. "So, does this happen often to you, or just when you overtax yourself? My grandfather gave me that drink recipe. He would use it after tribal rituals when he sang, and it usually helped fairly quickly. He made the liquor too, but I couldn't tell you how. That particular gallon is about fifteen years old, so its not as potent as what he used. Anyway, depending, I might be able to make you a batch of the remedy to use."

The door to the kitchen jiggled a little bit, but after a few seconds, a woman (who apparently had just figured out how to open the door) tumbled into the room. Naomi got up quickly, brushing herself off, and trying to look like nothing had happened. She looked around, and saw a number of people in the room.
"Oh, er, Hello!"
She smiled awkwardly, and made a formal bow as greeting.
"Please excuse me, I didn't mean to interupt. I was just finding my way around the school, and Mrs. Fade said the Kitchen was this way."
She turned to look at the door she had just struggled with. She had tried to slide the door open at first, then realised it had a nocb that needed to be turned. The realised the door had to be pushed open, not slid to the side, and even then she had tried to open it in the wrong direction befor finally pushing the other way and landing in the room.
"I'm not familiar with alot of things here, hehe."

Raina was extacted over the fact Neena potentially belonged to a tribe. "My tribe is up north, i'm a chanter!" she beamed. "Even without a mutation, being a chanter takes it's toll on your voice." she was beaming with happiness at finding someone so similiar. She wanted nothing more then to continue talking to Neena. "It's great that you're a teacher. I'm sort of in the in between stage. Too young to be educated enough, too old to really be considered a participant. I've done my share of youth work though, so I try to just be around and help. What are you teaching...?"
It was then that a girl fell in the door. "Oh hello!" called Raina. "that;s how i made my big entrance a few months ago!" she laughed.

"My tribe is up north, i'm a chanter! Even without a mutation, being a chanter takes it's toll on your voice." Neena nodded in understanding.
"That what Grandfather said. I only got to listen to him for a few years before leaving, but I adore listening when I could. By up north do you mean Alaskan, or Canadian? I'm from Kenya, myself."
"It's great that you're a teacher. I'm sort of in the in between stage. Too young to be educated enough, too old to really be considered a participant. I've done my share of youth work though, so I try to just be around and help. What are you teaching...?"
"I'm in partial charge of the Danger Room at the moment, actually. Though I'm more of an observer than anything. The students do the work; I just keep 'em on their toes," she chuckled. Then she added, "Well, have you considered asking Miss Tipper to be a counselor? Or perhaps even a music teacher? As a chanter I'm sure you have plenty of experience. And experience trumps age at any hand."
Neena turned as a small asian woman entered the room rather awkwardly right at that moment.
"Oh hello! That;s how i made my big entrance a few months ago!" Neena grinned at that comment. She was glad to know others shared her lack of coordination at times.
The woman recovered quickly and greeted them formally.
"Please excuse me, I didn't mean to interupt. I was just finding my way around the school, and Mrs. Fade said the Kitchen was this way."
"No worries, m'friend, we were just chatting. Please, join us." Neena watched curiously as the woman fiddled with the door for a brief moment, then turned back to her and Raina.
"I'm not familiar with alot of things here, hehe."
"No worries," she replied again with a smile. She returned the bow and held out her hand. "I'm Neena. Nice to meet you. This is Raina," she motioned to the nearby redhead. "Are you one of the students or teachers? If you don't mind me being nosy."

Naomi was glad that everyone seemed to understand. When Neena stretched out her hand, she glanced at it for a second, confused, befor gasping with a realisation. She stepped over briskly, and shook Neenas hand enthuisiastically.
"I'm Naomi Mie! Nice to meet you all! I can't say I've ever really chanted, but my grandmother used to chant suitras when my brother or I were ill."
Naomi took a seat nearby, taking in all the things the Kitchen had, and recognising very few. She wondered if anyone knew how to make rice balls. With that inside thought, her stomache growled extremely loadly, possibly causing the nearby blender to rattle slightely.
"Oops... hehe. Um, that was really loud huh. Geuss I'm kinda hungry..."
Deja quickly put her stuffup and headed back downstairs, when she noticed someone new. "What I miss", Deja then smiled at everyone. "So, any of you guys, like computers, I love them. You know I kind find anything on the computer, my friends used to call me Oracle, because I new everything on computer. All that because I hacked into their website database and.... well long story. So any of you have any skills, other than mutant wise?'' Deja then smiled, opening up the fridge, getting a strawberry flavored fruit Popsicle.

"I'm Naomi Mie! Nice to meet you all! I can't say I've ever really chanted, but my grandmother used to chant suitras when my brother or I were ill."
"A pleasure Naomi. Hmm.... Can I ask what a suitra is? It sounds beautiful." Neena struggled to keep a straight face when Naomi's hunger made itself known, very plainly.
"Oops... hehe. Um, that was really loud huh. Geuss I'm kinda hungry..."
"Well, what are kitchens for, right? Let's see what we can find to whip up, before the kids strip the shelves again." She began going through cabinets again. "Anything special either of you would like? I'm not the best cook, but I do know how to use a skillet." Absentmindly she realized that, just that quickly, she'd forgoten what she put where.
"What I miss?" Deja came back into the kitchen just as Neena had climbed back onto the counter to search the cupboards.
"Hiya kiddo. Just looking for dinner. Or lunch. Or whatever. Are you hungry?"
"So, any of you guys, like computers, I love them. You know I kind find anything on the computer, my friends used to call me Oracle, because I new everything on computer. All that because I hacked into their website database and.... well long story. So any of you have any skills, other than mutant wise?"
Neena chuckled and shook her head. "Nah, computers and I don't get along well. I'm just glad the Danger Room one is voice activated, or else I might have issues. Moreso than usual...."

Raina was listening to everyone when an alarm on her watch went off. She looked down. "Oh! Speaking of the danger room, I have to head out there! Neena, if you feel like running the controls for me, feel free to drop in!" and with that she got up and waved to the girls and headed out.
ooc: sorry, it's rushed but I needed it to make sense.

"Anything that isn't either fish or rice. I have eaten so much of that my entire life. I'll eat anything you'll give me."
Neena grinned. "I hear ya. Though I've got to admit I miss curry. Well, let's see what else we can come up with..." She climbed down and opened the refrigerator. She rummaged around while the others spoke.
She paused briefly as an alarm went off behind her, apparently from Raina's watch. "Oh! Speaking of the danger room, I have to head out there! Neena, if you feel like running the controls for me, feel free to drop in!"
Neena nodded, still inside the the cooler. She held up one arm, giving a thumb's up sign. "Sure Raina, I'll be there as soon I finish here." She pulled herself out and glanced at Naomi and Deja. "How 'bout spaghetti? That's quick, and fairly easy," she asked, holding up a package of italian sausage.

"That sounds wonderful! I think..."
She had absolutely no idea what it was, but like she said, she would eat anything. She got up and went over to the hanging pots and pains, eager to help in any way.
"Do you need any of these?" She asked Neena, motioning to the suspended pots and pans above her head. She saw a rather large pot, and reached up to unhook it from the rack, the pot looked extremely heavy, but the small woman easily took a hold of it by the rim, and held it out to Neena like it was a peice of paper.
