The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mike chuckled, giving Daria's hand an affectionate squeeze as the conversation went on. "Yea, I could get used to the catgirl trend picking up here," he teased.
Emerald smiled, tail wagging back and forth she felt the phone in her pocket vibrate she removed it to see she had two text messages. She swallowed as one was classified as unkown, the other was by miss sun loo who wanted her to practice one more time before the race tommrow.
"Aww man sun loo wants me to practice again. "She groaned, her head falling against the table next to her mac and cheese.

Daria grinned and returned Mike's squeeze, brushing his hair with her tail playfully. She pretended to be offended. "I don't shed that much, thank you!!!"
She then turned to Emmy"Well, if I have your phone you may not have gotten that text message..."
She didn't like Emerald being overworked, the girl had just been training!!!
"Yea I know, but you try to tell that crazy woman that." Well at least I will know the track by heart." She replied trying to make light out of it. "But I would perfer to rest though."
Emerald wearilly lifted her head from the table, running her hand throught her hair in exasperation.

Daria shrugged. "I will tell her that, you can give me the phone and I'll tell her right now that I'm the adult in charge of you and you're not allowed to go. Or I can visit her...I'm MUCh more intimidating in person...when I want to be." she purred and laughed. She was half serious-she was always there for the kids.
NIka giggled a little at Mike's comment about the cat girl population in the mansion.
Looking a bit lost Nika tried to follow along with the conversation about Emmy. "Umm what are you guys talking about?" She half blushed as she spoke up.

Daria took the phone, smiling at Mike and shaking her head. "Emmy's a professional motorcross driver...she has a big race coming up. "she said to Nika "and her trainer is going a little overboard if you ask me."
Daria dialed the phone, dropping her ears a little and pointing them in the direction of the reciever. "Hello? Ms Sun loo? Yes, no you don't know me, we met once at one of Emmy's races. I'm Daria." she waited a while for Miss Sun Loo to speak, her voice was high and accented. "Well Emmy is resting right now and she can't come to practice....."
She rolled her eyes and winced as the woman screamed, not necessarily at her, just in general.
"Yes, well I totally understand Emerald's responsibilities and you have to understand my responsibilities as her caretaker. I simplu can't let her come back right now, she needs to relax she can hardly stay awake as it is...." Daria paused for a minute, trying to keep her temper. The woman was so stubburn.
"Alright, Miss Sun loo, I don't know what to tell you. You have her address you're welcome to try and come and get her from me but I think you're better off waiting until she's had a nap. Goodbye." she hung up, obviously long before the woman finished speaking.
"Goodness Emmy, I don't know how you deal with her...Emmy?" she repeated because Emerald seemed to be asleep.
Mike smiled slightly, running a hand over Emmy's head to brush her hair back off of her face. "Poor thing... Jeez, I wake up, and people start nodding off. What's up with that?"
Emmy was dead asleep, she mumbled inchoerent words in her slumber, most of them having to do with racing. The wolfess's mind was filled with questions, such as if she was good enough to win the race, if she should give up on Johnny, if she should have ham or turkey on her sandwich.
"Ugualoopa." She mumbled, "Spokalargh."
Em was so tired she couldnt even say things right in her sleep.
The young cat girl listened to Daria explain what was going on. "Oh, I see."
Then she heard Mike and when she looked in his direction she saw him stroking Emmy's head while Emmy was sleeping and mumbling strange words. Nika couldn't help but giggle softly.

Daria smiled and leaned her head on Mike's shoulder. "Well we all stayed awake while you were asleep. None of us wanted to close our eyes for a second...who knew who would attack with you unable to save us?" she grinned. In truth Daria had stayed awake simply because without Mike's telepathy she began having her night terrors again. Se laughed.
"Yeah...emmy really needs her rest...what the hec is a sporkalargh?"

Daria thought seriously about the mouse and decided it might not be that bad.
"Why is that not a real food?" she asked irritatedly, standing to wash her dish as well as Mike's. She slid Emmy's away from her face so that she wouldn't roll over and fall asleep in it.
