"You... don't really want to ask what Johnny's doing right now. The fewer people who know what he's doing, the less likely the authorities are to catch up to him... and personally, I only feel the need to keep them off his back because that keeps him away from here."

"But I do want to know! I want to know if he is in trouble so I can go wolf on whoever is harasing him. But I suppose you won't tell me for my own safety will you? The least he could do is talk to me or something, he has had me worried sick that something put him ina coma or something like that. "

Mike sighed. "Don't say I didn't warn you. I didn't oppose you seeing Johnny half as much as I should have, Emmy, because I hoped that maybe you could bring him back... bring something good out in him. Unfortunately..." Images began flashing through her mind... and she could tell that they were heavily censored, that in fact there was much worse that he wasn't showing her. But she could see the people that, since she'd last seen him, Johnny had tortured, leaving with violated and mutilated minds. The lucky ones would need therapy for years... the unlucky ones were unlikely to ever function normally again. And all of them she was certain, because Mike was certain, had indeed been victims of Johnny. "I saw a lot of things while I was asleep... and the worst was what my brother had finally let himself become."

"He's just as bad as the orderlies where." she murmered beneath her breath. "He may get just as bad as Fusionist."

She looked at the wall for a moment before she walked over to the fridge, grabbing a soda. She popped the top and took a long swig of the carbonated beverage.

"Why would he even do that? He said he only hurt people whom deserved it."

"No... he only ever hurt people that HE thought deserved it... Two of whom, I'd like to remind you, are in this room right now," he said, glancing at Daria.

Feeling a bit hungry Nika decided to go look for the kitchen and see what there was to eat. She wandered the hallways a bit until she finally caught the scent of food. Following the smell she found the kitchen. She also found a couple people having a discussion one of which was Daria. Someone Nika was hoping to see again anyways.

Normally Nika wouldn't interrupt people but she was really hungry and she wasn't totally comfortable just grabbing something to eat. "Umm..excuse me. I just got here and I'm really hungry." Clutching her stomach as it grumbled she started to blush a bit from the embarrassment. "Oh, hello again Daria."

Emerald sighed, rubbing her temples, she couldnt believe this. What would happen if he came to the institute? Would he try to hurt Daria and Mike like he did those innocent people? These questions reeled in her head for a moment before she attempted to clear her mind.

I have no luck with men...damn it! I might as well become a fricken nun. She thought to herself.

"Great...just great well I might as well not let this pysch me out before the race." She stated.

She sniffed the air before Nika walked in and caught a strong scent of cat. She thought it was just dar but when she noticed the other cat girl walk in she smiled a bit.

"Dont worry about it might as well feed the animal in your gut before it gets rabid." She chuckled, tail wagging back and forth.

At the mention of johnny, Daria was snapped from her thoughts of the astral plane...and her mac and cheese. She fought back a hiss, he was Mike's family after all and she'd always been raised to respect things like that. Although the good majority of her was ready to rip him to shreds she kept her calm.

"Plenty of nice, friendly, non-psycho fish in the sea." she said to Emmy as Nika walked in. Her mood changed sufficieintly when the other cat girl entered and she waved enthusiastically when Nika said hello and go up to fix her a bowl of Macaroni and cheese as well as get herself another glass of milk.

"hey! Enjoying the mansion so far?" she asked as she set the bowl on the table and pulled out a chair for the girl.

"You're going to find so many men that do deserve you, Emmy. Don't worry."

"Hi," he said to Nika, "Don't think we've met. I'm Mike."

The reception the new cat girl recieved in the kitchen was a warm and welcome one. "Yes, I am enjoying it here so far Daria. I even have a roommate already. Her name is Nicki. Although she's taken off somewhere."

She watched as Daria served up some macaroni and cheese. "Oh thank you so much." She took a bite and after swallowing turned to Mike and Emmy. "Hello, My name is Nika." She noticed Emmy's tail and the sight of there being more mutants who had similarities to her made hr smile and feel even more welcome. "I hope I didn't interrupt anything"

"Nah," Mike grinned, "Just happy reunions, the more the merrier. Did you just get here? Sorry I missed it, I'm usually part of the welcoming committee, but I've been... busy."

"You mean in a coma," Sarah piped in from where she, apparently enjoying herself, was making more mac and cheese.

"Details aren't important, I was busy," Mike said, waving Sarah's comment aside.

Emerald chomped down on a spoonful of mac a cheese. She swallowed with a slight smile, she was glad her surrogate family was there for her.

"Nice to meet you Nika I'm Emerald." Emerald said with a slight grin

The ASPCA would have a field day. she thought in her head, laughing.

She teleported more food absentmindedly into her own bowl. Sarah beamed brighter. "I see you like it!"

"Mac and cheese is the best!...next ot Sushi...and sardines...and whiting...and...well..fish..." she laughed taking another sip of milk.

It was great to have Mike back around and she found herself purring quietly, her tail drooping lazily over the back of the chair. She had a similar feeling to Emmy, family...was always comforting.

"Yeah I just got here today. I was welcomed in by a boy named Dominic." Nika ate some of the mac and cheese. Her ears perked in Emmy's direction as she spoke to Nika. "Hi emerald. It's nice to meet you too. You have a pretty name too."

Nika then turned to Daria. "Yeah, Nicki seems pretty cool. I think we'll be good friends." Glancing at Emerald and then back to Daria the young girl giggled. "I didn't know there were more like us. We're gonna have to get some drain plugs for the showers."
