The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was a few hours after his Danger Room session (and a much shorter time since his... "workout" with Daria). True to his word, Mike was making lunch in the kitchen, waiting for Tricity.
A rather long sub sandwich was taking shape... long enough to be cut up for more than two people. In all, he seemed to be in a much better mood.
*Tricity strolled in, holding her lower back and plopping down in one of the booths.* "GOD, I'm tired! I just wanna get this baby out! I have half a mind to stick my hand up my..." janie: "HI GUYS!!" *The little girl came running through the kitchen, phasing through the island and running straight for Tricity.* "WHOA whoa whoa!! Slow down!!" *Janie phased through Tricity and sat down in the booth with her, her head just making it over the table where she placed her chin and stared at Mike with googily eyes.* jani: "Hi Mike..." *Tricity rolled her eyes and shook her head. Suddenly more of the children came rushing into the kitchen for lunch.*
Mike winked at Janie. "Hi Janie. Having fun today?"
The sandwich continued to make itself as Mike walked up behind Tricity. He contemplated her back, probing it gently with his telekinesis, his hands hovering over it as if debating. "Right... about... there," he said, pressing the ball of his hand against the most tense knot in her lower back he could find. "Good lord, this kid is being rough on you. You ought to ground it when it comes out," he teased.
janie: "What's that mean!?" *The little girl asked, staring at Mike as she sat on the table.* "Uh, don't worry about it, kid. Thanks, Mike. You should look into doing this for a living...I feel like I should pay you or something." janie: "ME NEXT!!"
Mike smirked. "Oh, the places I could go with that statement, but I'm going to just let it rest."
"I know something you don't know..." he silently teased Tricity as he continued working on her lower back. Across the room, a knife began cutting the sub, the pieces floating on plates over to the waiting children.
Mike smirked as he pressed his fingers into a particularly tense part of her back. "My sister's mutation is getting clearer... she's getting precognative flashes. I saw a few of them."
"Hehe... your baby's room is going to be cute. And such a nice, fitting color..."
*Tricity's head snapped around again as she squinted toward him.* "And what is that supposed to mean? Oh, God you know the sex of the baby, dont you??"
"And apparently, she can get flashes quite a ways away into the future. Very interesting flashes about Daria and I..."
"So... I called and ordered the decorations... now that I know what color to order things in," he lied. He hadn't made any such call... but it wasn't a bad idea, he still might do it. ANd she didn't KNOW he didn't do it yet...
*Tricity's eyes lit up and she spoke out loud.* "You ordered decorations?! FOR WHAT?!" *The kids all grew quiet and looked over at the two giggling.* janie: "OO is their a birthday coming up?! PARTY!!"
"Oh, calm down. I meant for the baby's room, and I'm just teasing, I haven't done anything. And if I did, I wouldn't let you see the end result until after the baby was born anyway, no matter how hard you begged. So there." He stuck his tongue out at her, then looked at the kids. He smiled slightly, then looked back at her. "There might be, Janie," he said, smiling slightly.
"Do you really know then about the sex of the baby??" *Tricity asked without using her mind to say so. She was dead serious now.* "Did everything look healthy?"
Normally he would tease, but that was a question that wouldn't be a fitting tease subject. "Yes, everything seemed healthy. At the very least, not being able to jump into the vision and do a medical examination, the baby was in its room, and not in the infirmary, which is usually a sign that everything is fine."
*Tricity's smile grew big at these words and she sighed a deep relief.* "Good...I'm glad." *Her phone began to ring suddenly and she picked it up, knocking her out of the fantasy world she'd been in.* "Hello?" *Tricity mouthed 'Whitmore' to Cass.*
