The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He smiled as she readied another kick. If the first one didn’t work why would the second? A distraction perhaps, or maybe she was upping the speed and power behind it. Whatever the reason the ice around her other foot remained like a vice not giving her captured leg any wiggle room. She might have had speed and power but it wouldn’t mean much if he could prevent her from using them.
It seemed almost perfect for him to capture the other leg so when she brought it up to strike Sam slowed the kick with a pair of ice hands extending downward from his stomach and once the hands made contact with her foot they latched around them like the ice did to the other foot. ”Awww, I’m sweeping you off your feet!” Sam said in a mocking tone as he moved with the direction of her strike to soften the impact before he had full control of her foot.
Feeling a bit off balance with the extensions now holding Sara’s feet he staggered to regain his own footing wondering how Sara could turn this around. Instinctively he slicked the floor with a fresh layer of ice that formed around his feet hopefully making it easier to hold his ground. Now that he had both of her feet his next move was to go for the hands. She still could strike him though he doubted if she went as fast as she could he could catch them. He could however make it far more difficult to strike him, which is what he was about to do.
OK. So plan A back fired but it was something that Sara was half way expecting. Plan B. Sara was about to see exactly how much she could get away with.
Sam was now off balance so that meant Sara couldn't let up for even a second or she'd have to fully submit to loosing this little challenge. Even with the stress that she was feeling in her right knee, she was having too much fun.
With Sam now holding both of her legs, and her hand having hit the ground, Sara used her hand to push off just as quickly. The motion putting just a little more momentum into the kick as she watched the movements of herself and Sam carefully in her 6th sight. He wanted to try to hold her still, then he'd have to try to support her weight and Sara wasn't afraid to fall. That's actually exactly what she wanted to happen so that she could try to break the ice that was trapping one of her legs, with the ground. Reckless? yes. Sara could very well break her leg or part of Sam should she not be controlled about this. Hmmmm.. Plan B 1.0 swiftly switched to plan B 2.0.
With Her weight being driven sideways still into Sam from her momentum, she struck at the ice encircling the foot that he had just strapped using the full speed of her hand, combined with the full speed of her upper body in an attempt to at least crack the ice. Her hand pulled back quickly trying to keep from getting that appendage trapped as well.
Her upper body then swung down quite suddenly so her momentum now pulled Sam the way that her kick, and weight, had been pushing him. Sara was aiming to tumble across the slicked floor and in the process send Sam flipping with her. With luck, she hoped that this would provide enough of a distraction for her to free herself in the next few moves.

Right eye blinked as the left remained covered by a black fabric. A blink was all he could do to respond to her superior speed and strength. Even with two of her limbs captured it didn’t stop the cat woman and friend before him. Using her hand to push off the ground (no doubt using her claws on the ice) he felt his feet fall from under him. If he needed to he could have used ice to catch him but he wanted to see where exactly Sara was going with this move.
While they were falling she moved and the hand made of ice around one of her feet cracked slightly he frowned and made noted that she could do far more if he was falling off balance than just cracking the ice. Focusing on not landing after the fall but the ice around her foot he resealed it filling in the cracks he waited to long to attempt to slow her down and if she got those feet free…. Well then it would be hard to catch her again.
The ice armor around his body still remained intact, weaker maybe seeing as he thought he had her but it remained none the less so the most he would receive from the tumble is nothing more than a bit of dizziness something that could easily be overcome with a few seconds of no movement. However he wasn’t sure that Sara was going to give him that kind of movement.
No longer tumbling after a few dozen rolls and some sliding Sam landed under Sara his face landing upright and the hands made of ice still wrapped around their targets while his actual hands were free to do what they like, and what they seemed to like during the tumble was wrap around Sara’s waist. It looked like he was giving Sara an upside down hug, however while he wanted to close the distance with her he was afraid of the repercussions of being so close with someone who was a few times stronger than him and while he had her cat like lower limbs and now her waist she had easy access to his legs and waist so she could easily turn the situation on him.
The two of them tumbled across the slicked floor, then slid to a stop that, to an observer, would probably seem quite awkward. Sara made a quick mental note. Sam was no longer going to receive half speed attacks. Her stomach was basically being held against his chest in that odd upside down hug, and her lower limbs were folded on either side of his shoulders. "I do hope that you're enjoying the view."
Sara was still using her 6th sense based on movement. So her eyes were still slits but it made things look interesting to her with the movement of their tumble. She immediately started trying to measure the length of her legs vs. Sam's arms and any gaps that she might be able to exploit.
Sara's tail flicked before thumping straight down at Sam's face. The force wouldn't be enough to crack the ice but based on feel, Sara was hoping to provide a little bit of a distraction. If nothing else an annoyance. As quickly as her tail thumped down in the direction of Sam's face, it was pulled back as Sara tried kicking out with both feet, straining against Sam's arms that were around her waist. The problem was she had trouble finding a way of propperly straightening her leg. Ok try a different tactic.
Sara held her upper body up with her left hand on Sam's leg just above his knee. If tried to trap her hand there he would not be happy with her other hand breaking it free next to his joint. Then just as quickly as Sara had kicked back, she tried to pull herself backwards with her legs, Using her left arm to push at the same time. The way Sara's legs were shaped, she had two joints. Not just a knee but a hock that bent the other way. Just like the back legs of a normal cat and it gave her a little bit more movement than the normal person. So she was trying to slide her right knee to the inside of Sam's upper arm where she might be able to crack the ice and put some pressure on him.

”I am, just lucky I guess!” Sam said teasing the cat woman he was currently grappling with. He blinked under the ice when her tail met the ice and he debated catching it with the ice currently forming a shield over his face but then decided last minute it wasn’t worth it. It was a distraction and even if he didn’t want to admit it, it was working.
He blinked again and she had began moving again, her legs moving to what he could only assume double joints, ”Fascinating!” Sam said as he grunted and forced the ice hands holding her legs to extend upward away from his body and hers in an attempt to stretch her legs back to where they were fully extended. Close range he was more confident that he had what it took to beat her, he was so confident in fact that he had decided this was a perfect time to give her a topic of discussion he had been wanting to have with Sara for a long while.
”Have you given any thought about becoming a full X-Man…” Sam asked curiously as he struggled slightly to keep Sara in his grip, ”I was serious when I told you I wanted you on the team. People I trust, trust with my life and my teammates life, you have proven yourself time and time again, and there are few I’d pick to have fighting on my side over you Sara!” Sam said as he attempted to shift his weight so he could roll on top of her.
"But of course." Sam had started pulling Sara's legs straight back and with her double jointed legs she had some play with them, before they were fully extended. She stubbornly showed this play off by trying to ram her knee down into the front of Sam's face as it passed. There was a barrier there protecting his face. She'd felt it with her tail only a few seconds ago. "Fascinating indeed." When Sara had first mutated into the form she had now, she had to relearn how to walk. Now, despite the fact that she was not proud of this form, even she had to admit that there were advantages.
Sara's legs were extended and Sam didn't seem satisfied with just straightening them, but using them to pull her as well. And Sam wanted to have a conversation now.. .. .. Sara let herself slide back. Her right arm kept poised by her side away from where it could get caught. Her left arm pushed against the ground to keep her up right. The left hand having slide off of the side of Sam's leg and her claws dragged down the ice floor next to them. Sam was shifting and with out the use of Sara's legs, She didn't have much keeping her upright. Just the left arm to lean against.
"Not really." A short answer but true. "Really.. .. .. There's people whom you'd pick to fight on your side over me." Sara punched down at Sam's stomach twice in fast succession. One punch intending to break the ice, The next to knock the wind out of Sam as another distraction before she used the way she was braced against his arms to try to brace against the ice restraints on her feet. Being that Sam had just extended them, the restraints should have been weakened. "I'm flattered that you'd trust your life and your teams lives with me. However, even with my having a room here, I hardly know most of them."

Sam gasped for air as the feline fist made it through his armor of ice, it was incredible Sam’s first mental reaction was to laugh before he tried to breath. It was amazing she could get so much speed and power in such a close distance. Sam no longer felt safe in close quarters with Sara, at least when they were throwing down like this. The ice which were wrapped around her feet were released by his command if all went well Sara would attempt to back away and regain her composure and by then Sam should be ready with his breath caught.
He breathed in and out attempting to slow his gasping, within a second his breath was caught and he was ready to respond after, he pushed Sara off of him and rolled out from under her and to his feet. Staggering backwards as the ice around his body increased he nodded his head, he understood where she was coming from she didn’t have trust in the team like he did. Something that could be remedied with time and effort not only on his teams part but his own.
”Only two others I really trust more than you, Ghost and Luke but then again I haven’t seen the blind bum around in a while and when I do he’s gonna get a rougher beating than I’m giving you!” Sam said as he took another few feet back throwing snowball after snowball.
”We can fix the you not knowing them, it takes time, you already know a handful of us, and the ones you’d really be working with at least. Shin, Ghost, and myself, I’m sure you know a few others.” Sam said trying to convince her.
Sara felt her fist sink in past the ice armor and a small smirk came to her face when Sam's ice hands opened and he gave her a shove to get off of him. Once again, another mutant with Sara's abilities would do much worst, much faster. Then again, Sara reminded herself that from what she'd seen, Sam was holding back too.
Sam had rolled one way to get to his feet, and Sara had rolled the other, though she'd kept the roll tight. She pushed herself up as close to the spot where her and Sam had been tangled as possible. For a second the world of movement around her had spun. Sara still not having her visual sight back. So instead she'd had her sixth sense, and all the 3D road maps it made when someone or something moved around her. It took her a moment to sort out the different ribbons of paths etched out in her mind's eye.
It seemed that Sam was backing up. No doubt trying to put more distance between himself and Sara. Did he really think that Sara was going to allow that? Even when he started throwing snow balls at her again, she dodged them while advancing on him. Mean while the conversation had started again.
Sara smirked. "Really. A rougher beating." Sara mocked as a snow ball passed her right ear. Dodged by a quick tilt of her head and a sudden diagonal step. "I'm sure that Luke has his reasons."
Sam Mentioned Sara working on getting to know the team more, and she almost missed dodging one of the snow balls. It ended up glancing off of her shoulder. "I actually don't know who ghost is though I have no doubt I've seen her around. As far as other x-men, I know DeathStar." No doubt Sam would remember breaking up the fight between herself and DS. "Shortly after I first came to New York, I was thrown in the registration camps. I know what the x-men wish to up hold, however I also know that in those extreme situations, members of your team, have turned themselves into hypocrites. When we broke out of the camps, it was a slaughter on both sides."
Durring their talk, Sara had gotten just outside of arms length of Sam. She was slowly discovering that when it came to her 6th sense, dodging was easier to do on impulse than thinking the steps through. "Every time I have gotten close to someone or to a group, I've gotten hurt or even almost killed. No offense Sam, because I think of you the way I believe someone should think of a brother, but ever since you pointed out our numbers, there's been times I've expected you to drag me back."
In Sara's eyes, trust wasn't far from easily earned. Though it was craved.

She was moving closer again, it was clear she knew where her strengths lay. Sighing and controlling the ice under his feet he spread it outward making it unnatural, bumps cracks and gaps it was flawed and it was something his pride normally didn’t let him do but, in situations like this… pride was overrated, at least it was overrated till he had the upper hand again, which hopefully would be soon.
Jumping back and using the ice to push him further and further away from Sara he nodded his head, as he continued to pelt long-range snowballs at her he sighed so she could hear him, ”Yeah, Layla is an interesting character, messed up family dynamics, not as bad as yours or mine but, still she doesn’t really know how to cope with things like that…” he shrugged slightly as he landed and formed a pillar under his feet, raising his hands the pillar rose higher and higher. ”Still currently working with her Sara, and I can promise I’ll do what ever I can to make it so the issue with you two is resolved so you guys don’t get into a fight every time you see each other at a diner, which I wanted to point out I made her stop!”
Still it was no excuse to break out into a fight and the more Sara spoke about the past and why she didn’t trust the X-Men the more he knew why she couldn’t trust them. ”Everyone makes mistakes, I myself have done so many things I regret…” Sam said as he pushed his hand on the pillar and altered the angle so instead of going straight up it went up and a forty five degree angle.
He remembered the lost body count that he could never seem to tally right, so many missions so man kidnappings, his situation was a different from Sara’s but from what he understood they were both prisoners, just his prison happened to let him out on occasion. Her next comment through him off and he lost focus. The pillar stopped growing and he stood there for a second not exactly how to respond.
For a second there was no sound coming from Sam other than his heavy breathing, ”Are… you serious?” Sam asked not really upset just surprised she seemed to doubt his person, ”Sara, that life was a life time ago, if I could go back and do anything different it was come to my senses before I did,” he paused for a second, ”And if I was going to drag you back I would have done it when we first met before you knew anything about me, standard procedure back in the day.” Sam said with a matter of so fact voice, ”Sides, if I still worked for them you really think I would spend my time climbing to the top of the X-men ladder or spend my time and all those on the team helping to make sure the police don’t get killed.”
He might have not admitted it but he was hurt that she seemed to lack so much trust in him, after all she was one of the few that knew a few of the skeletons in the closet, all she was lacking was a name of the company and his old profession one he didn’t feel like sharing with anyone, especially now.
Sam's strategy of making the ice uneven seemed to slow Sara down. It was enough of a distraction that, a couple of the thrown snow balls bounced off of her shoulder as she turned to dodge. The Ice that was against the floor was harder to sense when it moved or changed. There for, it slowed her down and made her pick her footing by feeling out the steps. She wanted to speed up right after him, however doing that meant possibly falling, and falling meant that Sam could trap her to the ground, again.
"Exactly. You stopped us." Sara said with a small smirk. "You're the second one to break us up, the first having been guards in the registration camps. Though I wasn't the only one arguing with her then. I simply through a wad of food in her mouth to shut her up." Sam was rising into the air, and this time, Sara could track the movement of the ice rising with him. She paused for a moment, to see exactly where Sam was going with this move. "What Layla and I really need, is a one on one Danger Room session. That way things are not in public."
”Everyone makes mistakes, I myself have done so many things I regret…”
"I know.. .. .. Me too." Sara fell silent for a moment. She'd noticed Sam's dirrection change and she intended to get back on his heels She adjusted her own footing to make sure that she wouldn't slip, then jumped for the side of the pillar, using her claws to sink into it, and climb. Mean while Sam continued. She'd obviously throne him for a loop with her words, but who cared. If Sam really wanted her on the team,(Not Saying that Sara was not not tempted) then Sam needed to know her angle to... to what? Sara climbed making it past the part where the pillar slanted, that allowed her to speed up her progress.
What was it exactly that she wanted Sam to do? It wasn't a lie, or even a secret that Sara liked having a place that she belonged. Other wise she wouldn't of chosen to stay at the mansion. At the same time, she still did her own thing.
Sara reached the top of the pillar behind Sam. She picked up a pebble sized piece of ice then flicked it at Sam showing him where she was by throwing it lightly at his shoulder. "Yes. Part of me does think those things. Then part of me knows that I have been and will safe here. No matter what happens, I'm always going to have those thoughts running through my head."
Sara suddenly gave Sam a loose shove towards the side of Sam's pillar. More to see what he was going to do.

It was no surprise to Sam that Sara would climb the pillar in fact it was one of the reasons he made it, she had to chase him down and she was doing exactly what Sam wanted. The terrain of the Danger Room was now pretty much a frozen wasteland. Ice covered the floor in uneven bumps and hills jagged spikes here and there and now even a large pillar that extended from the ground to the air. The longer this bout was going the easier and easier it was becoming for him. The ice was already there all he had to do was manipulate it and shift it to his liking which meant in time Sara’s downfall.
Sam looked back down the side of the pillar where Sara started climbing only to find her gone. It didn’t take a genus to figure out where she was going and now that he felt a pebble on his back for a moment he turned to see his assumptions confirmed. ”Maybe a one on one isn’t the worst idea…” Sam said, as he shrugged slightly not really feeling the need to defend himself where he was.
Sam only took a step back and felt the heel of his foot of the edge of the pillar and he didn’t bother backing up after that. ”Normally I don’t condone fighting amongst my friends but if it gets you two to get along after it might be worth it.” he shrugged again and didn’t flinch when she shoved him he only fell backwards making it look like he was trying to regain balance.
During his fall he smirked under the armor and snapped his fingers causing the pillar Sara was now standing on to break down. With a loud crack followed by several other ones all the ice that made the pillar split into large ice chunks falling to the floor. ”You know your always safe here, and I’m not forcing you to do anything, I was just offering you a spot on the team because I know you’d help keep us honest!” The ground was closing in on him quick and without much of a thought some ice rose up from the ground and formed another small pillar one that was twisted so when he reached out with his hand and took hold of it he just managed to slide down it.
Even without Sara's use of her eyes at the moment, Sara knew that she was surrounded by Sam's element. If she followed, she was playing into his hand, but if she didn't follow she was surrounded by ice anyways, Sam was out of reach, and no matter what, He had an entire room for a weapon. What could she really do? she wasn't a long range attacker with out the use of a gun and a gun was something that she definitely wouldn't use against Sam.
"I can't promise that DeathStar and I will ever be able to 'Get along' however a one on one will give her the chance to get her frustration out. You know. Get what ever she has to do or say out in the open. Other wise the anger that she has for me is going to keep building." Sam tipped backwards. Sara couldn't quite tell if it was because of her superior strength and his placement on the pillar at first, but it seemed entirely too easy for her to shove him off of the plat form.
Then she heard the cracking sound... Of course this was a trap....
Instinct was already driving her after her prey. Sara dove after Sam. Her feet having pushed off of the larger chunk of falling ice to get propulsion. This was either really going to work, or really going to fail.
The motion from kicking off sent Sara's body flipping once. She swiftly straightened herself so she could grab for Sam as they fell. Trying to hook one arm around the top of Sam's shoulder, the other under on the other side. Sara felt the sudden pull of G-force on the both of them, and she tried to pull her lower body up as the ground approached with the idea of sitting up with the flats of her shins against Sam's armor on his chest and stomach. Intending to use him as a sort of sled upon landing. "You give a thief entirely too high of praise."

‘Another compromising position’ thought Sam as he bent his back and made an attempt to look down to see where he and now his joy rider (Sara) was heading. It would be impossible to hook the pillar he just created so with a quick thought movement of his hands he opened the pillar he had created just enough so his body could pass through a small hole with ease. His body no hitchhikers. ”Maybe, prove me wrong!” Sam said as he passed through the hole hoping that it would be enough to separate him from Sara who most likely would somehow land on the side of the pillar and come after him again.
The whole process was getting rather repetitive, though what he did like was the fact that now the entire Danger Room floor was covered in ice and in the middle their were a few pillars. Speaking of which… a pillar erupted from the ground and Sam turned his body and reached out his hand doing what he had intended to do with the first pillar the only difference between now and then was he no longer had Sara riding him waiting for him to crash.
She was smart; she could heal but why go through the pain? Sam would have been a perfect thing to break her fall on the icy surface that would no doubt attack her given the command by Sam, the master of ice. One hand and his feet now planted on the side of the pillar he looked to Sara and smirked, ”Can’t win, not now anyways…” he paused for a second and then laughed, ”Should have played rough when we first started… your completely surrounded!” Sam said with a smirk behind his ice armor.
