The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Check yes Juliet are you with me rain is falling down on the sidewalk I won't go until you come outside check yes Juliet kill the limbo I'll keep tossing rocks at your window cause there's no turning back for us tonight-
The sound of music pounded in her pale ears, the American music was amazing in Emi's mind! She didn't understand much of the song's meaning but it was catchy! Humming a bit off tune with the song, the shadowmancer didn't notice she was heading further into an area she had yet to explore... Opening her eyes as they were closed listening to a song, she blinked when she realized she was in a shadier part of the city...
Already nervous she turned the way she came only to be face to face with some gang-looking males... Why did the movie stuff have to happen to her? "What are ya doin' here cutie?" The man asked/demanded as Emil looked in the corner of her eyes seeing three more men walking behind her...
"Um.. I don't- I don't want to fight..." The men looked at her oddly for a minute before laughing loudly, words like "That's rich!" and other things were heard from their fits of laughter, only unnerving the teenager more... "W-What do you want?" She stuttered taking a step back and reigning in her emotions, she didn't want a confrontation- not yet. The 'leader' of the group smirked as he harshly grabbed the Russian born mutants' arm, said girl gasped as she felt the instinct to pull away only finding the man was physically stronger than her!
"L-Let Go!" She spoke now getting scared, what would they do to her? Emil didn't want to be around to find out! Quickly remembering a maneuver a girl did to a guy in the movies once, Emi gave her captive a quick swift kick below the belt. "ARGH!" The man knelled in pain as his buddies looked in shock. Taking that as her cue, Emil bolted down the street hearing the yells of "Get that bitch!" only fueling her desire to run faster!
Before she knew it she had been running for a while, with no clue where she was she looked up only to see she was some type of shopping distract... where was she? Well it didn't matter now, at least she was away from those goons... Or so she hoped. Continuing her walk she didn't watch where she was going and abruptly bumped into something- or someone. "O-Oh! S-Sorry!"
Juka was shopping! Now, that fact alone wasn't really much of a surprise since it was one of his favourite past times. One didn't acquire the kind of wardrobe that he owned without a love of going to different stores, the more out of the way and unusual the better, as often as possible. But this particular shopping trip was special because this shopping trip had resulted in getting his super hero costume. Oh, yes indeed, Juka was finally going to be able to call himself a proper super hero, a caped crusader, a masked marvel because, finally, he had a costume.
Because he was Juka Miami, his super hero costume could not be any sort of normal super hero costume, oh no. There would be no spandex for him (not that he wouldn't look absolutely fabulous in skin tight spandex of course) oh no, he planned to go in a very different direction. His bubbles controlled time and thus he was a time mage. Time mages were actually green mages and therefore he would become Green Mage, complete with forest green robe with a large magus style hood and green ninja mask, because he obviously had to hide his face. In the bags he currently carried at his side, resided said green robe complete with lovely silver runic symbols along the edges and said green ninja mask. Overall it was a very successful day.
Perhaps it was because he was so preoccupied with his imaginings of Green Mage grandeur (although it hadn't quite occurred to him that he used his bubbles on stage with his band and that was a rather obvious mutation that made the whole secret identity things have some serious problems), but he didn't notice at all that there was someone running in his direction until that someone happened to actually run right into him.
"O-Oh! S-Sorry!"
Juka looked down to see a small black haired girl that seemed rather afraid of something, hopefully not of him. "Its ok, darling. No need to be afraid. Is there anything I can do to help you?"

[Feel free to control the lame thugs ]
She wasn't afraid of this man, no- Emil was more afraid of those dangerous looking men who might still be tailing her! Looking behind her in nervousness the Russian mutant let out a small sigh before she slowly stopped fidgeting and turned to the- what was he? Blinking slowly Emi couldn't tell who this person was! His clothing made it hard for her to tell, but from his voice she could probably deduce he was male, other than that... "O-Oh! Um, I'm not afraid sir, just a bit rushed!" She gave a small smile, even though it was a blatant lie she didn't want him to get caught up in the mess she had gotten herself into.
-But we got one more night Lets get drunk and drive around And make peace with this empty town We can make it right Throw it away Forget yesterday Well make the great escape -
Emil blinked quickly and looked down at her ipod, realizing she still had it blaring without noticing it! Turning it off she blushed embarrassed. "Sorry about that. Forgot to turn it off." The black haired beauty's blush however died down as she starting fidgeting with her fingers again. Damn habit. "I-I shouldn't waste your time, I'll be going-" However Emil's current sentence was cut short when she heard a yell, slightly familiar, and REALLY pissed off!
"YOU BITCH! GET BACK HERE!"
'T-They followed me all the way here?!' She thought with shock and fright before whipping around to see the four men from before stalking over her with a glare, a small feeling of satisfaction twinged in her mind at the sight of the limping 'Leader' of the thugs. It severed him right really. Taking a step back as she suddenly realized that the strange green-wearing man was still with her! Biting her lip, Emil didn't wish to try to use her powers in fear of him knowing she was a mutant and also her lack of control...
"S-Stay back!" She tried to warn Juka not sure if this guy could fight... If worse came to worse they could outrun the thugs.. That when a click was heard and the limping leader pulled out a gun. 'Why do these things happen to me?' She questioned to herself as though hoping for an answer- none came.
"This PAYBACK for your stunt back there!" Growled the man as he prepared to shoot... As Emi stared at the gun and the thugs she could only wonder- 'W-Why me?'
Juka didn't believe the girl for a second when she claimed that she wasn't afraid. He knew the difference between being rushed and being afraid and this girl was definitely the latter, although she didn't appear to be afraid of him at least, which was good. "Whatever it is, my dear, I can help you. Its kind of what I do." He gave his best reassuring smile.
"YOU BITCH! GET BACK HERE!"
Juka didn't have to wait long to figure out exactly what the woman had been afraid of as the person no, the group of people came around the bend and started yelling at her. Juka puffed himself up, trying to look as big and intimidating as he could (which wasn't really all that big or intimidating given the fact that its rather difficult to be intimidating in a dress) and glared at the thugs. "Leave her alone!" His voice, at least, held some kind of authority, enough that it caused the thugs to pause for a moment at least.
Juka took that momentary pause to properly assess the situation. There were more thugs than there were Jukas by quite a bit which was not good odds at all. Add to that the fact that he didn't have his normal customary anvils with him because he hadn't been expecting anything other than a simple shopping trip. So, his options were to either find an appropriate weapon fast or to grab the strange girl, bubble with the hopes that she wouldn't struggle so much that he accidentally dropped her, and float away. Floating away had the pro of getting out of harms way and the cons of either accidentally dropping the girl or the thugs turning their attentions on some other hapless victim. Fighting had the pro of not having to risk dropping the girl and hopefully stopping the thugs and the very big con of possibly getting his ass kicked in the process.
Then the gun came out and Juka knew there was only one thing he could do in good conscious. With the speed of thought he bubbled himself and put a mini bubble around his bag of green costume. Given the fact that it was the only weapon he currently had on hand (and it really was a poor weapon at that) he float charged the thug with the gun and slammed the bag of fabric into his arm, hopefully stunning him enough to cause him to drop the gun. Either that, or he'd just get more angry and start shooting at him. Juka did not like guns.

Emil watched with shock as Juka flung the fabric of green in a sort of bubble before sending it off like a bullet towards the gun wielding thug. The projectile hit it's mark as the Leader cried out in pain and dropped the gun while cradling his arm. His gang went over to see what happened while one pointed fearfully at Juka. "T-That guys a MUTANT!" The man yelled in fright as the other looked in bewilderment before backing up. Emil swallowed before gambling her choices and took a step forward, her shadow bubbling up slightly as it shifted around her. "A-And so am I! S-So back off!" Her yell wasn't very convincing to her but it definitely got the reaction she wanted. The thug's team ran off with their tails between their legs and the leader yelled for them to come back. "H-HEY! WAIT! THEIR JUST A BUNCH OF FREAKS!" He hollered back at them before realizing he was alone... with two mutants no less, it didn't take long for him to run off as well (as much as guy who was hit in the family jewels and the arm could run) Yelling insults to Emil and Juka, saying he would kill them some day... Empty threats really.
Breathing out in relief Emil felt herself calm down, that was definitely scary... Watching her shadow reside back to normal after some mental effort to calm it, she then pushed back a strand of her black locks and sighed again, before turning to her savior. "T-Thanks! I wouldn't of been able to face those guys on my own." She confessed before she looked at him in the eyes before looking away just as quickly a blush on her face. "A-Anyway I didn't introduce myself- I-I'm Emil Garland... A-And oh! I'm sorry for that mess I dragged you into earlier..." Stuttered the dark haired mutant as she felt bad for getting him into this mess...
Juka wasn't quite sure how his fabricky attack had managed to actually succeed, but the thug he had aimed at dropped his gun and began pointing and yelling in terrified fashion. Maybe he had just so happened to hit him with the cloak's clasp or maybe the man was just so shocked that he had dropped the weapon, but either way it was a good result. In fact, the entire scene probably would have been rather comical in different circumstances.
Just to be on the safe side, Juka sent out a second tendril that bubbled the offending weapon, floating it out of range of any of the thugs. He wouldn't want one of them deciding that they were brave, all of a sudden, and take a dive at the gun and start shooting. Bubbles, he had learned from painful experience, were not very good at deflecting weapons and he could only imagine that bullets would cause just as much damage with a bubble in the way as without a bubble in the way.
The woman beside Juka then suddenly announced that she was a mutant too and, he could have been mistaken but, was her shadow moving? As in, moving on its own without her body also moving to correspond with it? Whatever the case was, exactly, the thugs were not having any of it and fled the scene, yellling insults and threads as they went.
Juka turned his attention back to the girl who had just introduced herself as Emil and unbubbled. He put the offending gun into his bag (hopefully someone around the Mansion would be able to dispose of it) and the bag back into his hand. He went to hug her in comfort, if she would allow him to do so. "You don't need to worry, darling. Its not your fault and they're gone now. My name's Juka."

If Emil looked shocked Juka probably didn't notice as she let him hug her- odd she didn't react. Maybe- it was just so sudden? A tomato colored blush cover her face as her eyes widened in shock. The shadowmancer mutant was lost of words as she felt his quick embrace. "U-Um-" She choked out too stunned to reply. Relief flooded her as he pulled away, sudden hugs from a stranger wasn't something Emil was accustomed to...
Her blush slowly dying down she finally snapped out of her shock induced daze before she covered her mouth with her lips holding back a gasp as she nodded. "N-Nice to meet you Juka." She stuttered once more before she found herself fidgeting again, most likely an after effect from the sudden hug. Trying to find something to switch her thoughts to, Emi gave a small smile before speaking. "A-Are you from the mansion too?"
Juka hadn't meant to make the girl any more nervous than she all ready was and that, it appeared, was the unfortunate result of his hug. He mentally chastised himself for conveniently forgetting the fact that some people simply didn't' much appreciate spontaneous hugs but shouldn't he be forgiven due to the whole life saving event thing? OK, so maybe life saving might have been just a bit of an exaggeration, but that wasn't really the point, now was it.
"A pleasure to meet you, my dear." Juka curtsied. "And I am indeed from the Mansion. Would a fair lady such as yourself desire and escort home?" He extended a hand like the complete gentleman he was. Maybe 'from' the Mansion wasn't quite right, but lately he did seem to be there more often than his own apartment.

[Sorry for the wait }: No muse lately x.x]
'What an odd man...' Thought the normally shy teen. Blinking she gave a nod unsure if speaking was her best course of action... "I-I would love to J-Juka." Emil gave a small smile before taking his arm nervously, hopefully she didn't cling- that would be a strange sight no doubt... "L-Lead the way?" She questioned while pale eyes looked at the strange mutant before her a deep blush on her face due to the physical contact- with a guy no less! Was this some sort of dream? This felt like something you'd only see in the films after all... Hopefully though, this 'movie' had a happy ending... Wondering she should ask something she decided against her better judgment and asked anyways, "S-So what were you doing around here? I-If you don't mind me asking?" Well- it was a start...
Juka took the girl's hand and smiled down at her, trying to put her at ease. Not that he blamed her for the nerves given what had almost happened just moments before, but he certainly didn't want to make it any worse for her than it all ready was. As always, all he wanted to do was help and maybe make a few friends along the way.
"Just doing a little shopping," Juka replied with a grin. He began walking in the direction that he hoped was the subway. Given the fact that his parents were rich and he had a magical floating bubble, public transit wasn't something he used too often. "How about you, my dear?" He wasn't quite ready to display his costume yet, not until he had the chance to make it perfect.

[Sorry I took so long!]
Emil smiled hesitantly as she loosened her grip on the male mutant. "Well, I- I was just exploring a little, I was listening to my ipod." She was telling the truth after all, she wasn't doing much today, other than exploring and other normal stuff. Until those thugs showed up... "Um... do you like shopping Juka?" Questioned the Russian mutant teen as she looked at Juka pale eyes brimmed with curiosity and uncertainty. "I'm not really good with shopping, I always end up buying something that I end up not wearing anyways..." Emil confessed as she blushed once again and looked away embarrassed.
"I positively love shopping," Juka answered with an indulgent grin. "If you ever need any help finding the perfect outfit, I'd be happy to lend my expertise." Although his expertise tended towards the colourful and he wasn't sure that colourful was really what a shadowmancer needed.
Juka decided that hailing a cab would probably be the best way to get back to the Mansion so he stood on the side of the road and tried to wave one down. After a few minutes he managed to get the attention of one of them and gestured for Elise to enter first, before entering himself.

"T-Thank you." Emil spoke with a smile as she looked at Juka with kind eyes, he seemed nice... Watching as he waved down a cab as it stopped she looked at Juka than the cab as he gestured for to enter it. So they were taking the cab? Nodding she slide in the cab of the now open door taking the seat at the other side of the taxi. Blushing she waited for the bubble mutant to sit down as well. Now what? "To-To Xavier Mansion p-please." Asked Emil to the Taxi can driver while she waited for Juka to get situated.
Juka got into the cab behind Emi and buckled himself in. Just because he was a super awesome mutant super hero didn't mean that he should neglect personal safety, after all. He didn't use cabs much, due to having a floating bubble that usually allowed him to get to places faster than cars in the busy New York traffic anyway, but he wasn't entirely inexperienced especially recently.
"How long have you been at the Mansion?" Juka asked the girl conversationally. He coudln't recall seeing her around, but given his strange hours that wasn't too unusual.

Feeling a little nervous about being so close to someone Emil blushed lightly though didn't know if she was noticeable or not. Fidgeting a bit with her seatbelt she managed to get it buckled before sighing as the Taxi can sped off towards their destination. Turning her head towards Juka her blush now gone but her pale eyes still wide with light she answered. "Well- I haven't been there long, I- I think a few months?"
She questioned not so sure herself, not only that but she wasn't used to staying in one place for so long, now that she had a place to live she nomadic mind wasn't sure how to deal with it quite yet... Deciding to direct her thoughts away from the subject she than reversed the question onto Juka curious as she hadn't seen him at the mansion before... "What about you Juka? How long have you been at the mansion?" She paused before speaking again as though correcting herself. "If it's not too rude for me to ask?"
