The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Emi was just so adorably shy. In fact, Juka couldn't' remember having met anyone quite that shy before, even Shana hadn't been quite that withdrawn. He wanted to help bring her out of her shell or at least help her to be more comfortable but wasn't quite sure how to go about it. Usually his natural charm and charisma (nope, no ego there at all) was sufficient, but that didn't seem to be working so well in this instance.
"I've been in and out of the Mansion for about a year now," Juka answered. In and out being the key words and in that combination since he still didn't technically live there, he just happened to have gotten a room there. Floating bubbles allowed him to move between his own apartment and the Mansion rather successfully. "And don't be so nervous, my dear, I promise I won't bite." The taxi turned right and continued on its journey towards the Mansion.

"Um... Okay." She looked down at her hands and tried stopping her twiddling thumbs before she looked at Juka giving him a small nod. "Sorry, I'm not used to being around- um- boys." She confessed feeling a bit awkward now as she felt her blush rise again but she managed to control it a little better now.
So Juka had officially gained the status of boy. Well, that wasn't such a bad thing was it? It was, however kind of amusing and he giggled. "Darling, if it helps you, you can think of me as one of the girls." He winked at her.
The taxi took another turn and the Mansion came into sight. Once stopped Juka paid the driver, making sure to include a rather generous tip. The driver gave the two of them an amused but friendly smile, which Juka happily returned.

Emil looked surprised at the bubble-user's words. She couldn't help herself but giggle as she nodded. "It's alright, I think I'm okay now." Scratching her cheek in embarrassment she spoke up. " Thank you, I needed that Juka, I've haven't been feeling so uplifting lately." Confessed the ebony haired mutant as she gave him a more broad smile a blush of happiness on her cheeks. Before she knew it they were at the Mansion as Juka paid the driver.
"Oh- I could pay-" Emil looked bashful, "Oh- nevermind. Thank you sir for driving us way out here." She thanked the Taxi cab driver as she got herself out of the car on her side. There she waited for Juka so that the driver could leave and they could go tot he mansion. And for once Emil felt with a lighter heart, feeling that this little 'journey' accomplished something- small as it may be it still helped. "Thank you for paying Juka- I guess I owe you next time?" Questioned the shadowmancer innocently before she looked towards the Xavier mansion taking in the sight of it.
Juka smiled at the girl, glad that he had at least managed to make a little difference in her day. Making someone feel happier about their life, or at least their day, was one of the little things that made life meaningful. What was a performer's purpose, after all, if not to make people happy? Even if he wasn't currently performing, that was still a worthy goal in his mind.
"Don't worry about the money, darling. I'm just happy to see you home safe and sound. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to search me out." Juka dug into one of his pockets and pulled out one of his ever present cards advertising his band Light in Darkness and scribbled his number at on the back of it, handing it to Emi. "See you around."
