The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Happy with the amount of paper work he had accomplished Sam looked down to the cat on his lap and smiled, ”All done Cammie!” the cat looked up meowed and then closed her eyes again not really caring that he finished his work. It had been a few months since Romania and a lot of things had happened, Sam discovering that there was an inactive member of the X-Team lurking in the mansion eating all the burgers something needed to be done. The burgers were to late to save but the inactive member she still had a chance.
After paging Emerald Lupin down to his office Sam waited going over her files some of them mentioned Neena’s and Tricity’s disapproval on her out look on justice. The time for the old violent ways of the X-Men were over no more were they a hungry pack of dogs, fighting over a piece of meat now they were focused and far more passive, that’s not to say they would fight back on occasion.
The way Sam saw it was that they were simply there to protect the balance and work towards a coexistence, if anyone threatened that existence Sam wouldn’t be to happy with them, especially if it was one of his own team members.
It seemed that like another member of the team Emerald was quick to action and openly stated killing wasn’t out of the question. She was already treading on thin ice with Sam how she responded to his questions would determine if she was still X material or not.
It wasn't a surprise for young miss Lupin that she would get a call from Xaviers stand in head master. She had heard all sorts of things about the new guy, none of which she liked in the slightest. Now that Tricity was on maternity leave and Neena was in...wonderland or whatever now this Cold Metal guy was the leader of the X men. And from what she had gathered he didn't exactly enjoy people like her.
After receiving his page the wolf girl had made her way from downtown New York where she was enjoying a perfectly good burger all the way back to the institute. She had relayed to Ruby what May happen from this meeting and despite the fox girls worries, she agreed to do whatever her sister asked. Though, she wasnt planning on leaving her big sister alone again, so if something happened to cause Em to leave the mansion, this time she was gonna go with her whether Emerald liked it or not.
A quick knock on the door and then a turn of the knob announced the wolf girls presence. Since the haunted house Incident the wolf girl had been bandaged from the wounds she had received, making her arms look like their were mummified. She wore a t shirt so no one was able to see the large gash marks on her lower torso, which still hurt her to move.
“Hey New Boss, wanted to see me?” Emerald asked in a tone as formal as possible. Emerald wasnt formal obviously so it sounded sort of odd coming from the wolf girls sharp toothed mouth. “Wanted to talk to me about something?”

A smirk reached his lips when Emerald greeted him with the title of ‘New Boss’ he was he thought only boss till the others in charge returned. Until that time however, ”Call me Sam, and yes, I do want to talk to you about something.” placing the files of her he had in his hands on the desk in front of them Sam closed it and then smiled warmly.
”It has come to my attention recently that you and your sister had returned to the mansion.” smiling and tapping the folder in front of him Sam continued, ”You were also part of the X-Men when Tricity and Neena was around yes?”
He already knew the answer so didn’t need any conformation on it, so he continued deciding he shouldn’t beat around the bush with her, ”I’ll get to the point here Emerald I want to see if you have any interests of becoming active again with the X-Men and help make a difference in the world, however there are a few questions I need to ask you!” her file stated she was a member of the team and was very passionate about her work however the passion he felt was misplaced on personal views, which was acceptable at times but when they became counter productive to the team’s goals… that was when he had a problem.
”To be honest I read your file and was impressed, your also in the Danger Room on a regular basis, however I want to know what exactly you plan on doing with all this training.” he was prying as well as any leader should be when they are interested in expanding a team with goals like the X-Men.
Listening to her new boss talk, she realized that he was trying to take charge of the whole situation. While she had been gone for a few months, she had been learning several things about herself as well as life in general. First, she realized that the first person she had ot rely on was herself, Second, always be prepared and third trusting anyone wasnt a good practice. It was something she had tried for a while when she first came to the mansion and the events that followed caused her to be in a 2 month coma during her last leave of absence from the X men.
Emerald had been nodding at appropriate times, agreeing that she did want to become and active X man once again. She was getting rather stir crazy in her absence from the team and needed some other ways to spend her boundless energy as well as another way to bring justice to this hellish world.
"What I'm planning on doing? Well, I train every day because I never want to be caught off guard. Three hours in the morning, three hours at night I train so I can stay fit and stay strong for anything the world has to throw at me. Me training keeps my mind sharp in order to be ready for anything from being shot at or from an acidic mutant spitting acid at me. Never can be too prepared, Sam. My main goal though it to protect those that are unable to protect them selves." Emerald explained, the passion and the honestly clear in her voice. It was obvious that staying alert and fit was a huge part of Emerald's life. She enjoyed protecting people and it was almost a second nature of hers to help those in need of help. How this came about only her parents and family knew but what was clear though was that the young woman truely had the heart and soul of a hero.

She nodded her head, that was good so she did want to become a member of a fully functioning team again, not that there was anything wrong with the last one it was just a bit to messy for him to copy. There was no chain of command, no order, now things were different. Her next response was a bit concerning to Sam. He knew lives of mutants were dangerous but unless she was constantly in a situation where she was required to deal with any opponent.
”Why might I ask would you be shot at?” it was a question of curiosity really, he had been shot loads of times and had good reasons for them, mainly criminals didn’t want to be brought in, which the ended up have to do anyways. ”I also have a few more questions regarding your previous cooperation with the team."
”My first question is in regards with the purpose of the team, what exactly do you feel the X-men’s purpose in this world is?” he asked tilting his head, standard training was the usual test to become apart of the team but he was feeling the need to ask some ethical questions to Emerald, she was after all in the Danger Room everyday and seeing as her and Neena didn’t really see eye to eye on a few situations concerned him slightly.
Looking at the folder for a second he readjusted himself in his chair and leaned back waiting for Emerald to answer with his question while his eye trailed to her face.
Sam was responding to her in a way a nosy leader would and while she didn't blame him that didn't mean she liked it. She didn't show it though, knowing better than asking, 'Well why are you asking buddy boy? You think I just like to get shot at in my spare time?'
Emerald reached behind her and grabbed her tail, “This is typically why I get shot at. Its really irritating to try to hide this thing all the time, I have to ether tape it down on my leg or tape it up on my back, its not something as easy as sticking it down your pants and not worrying about it. Not only that, I sort of noticeably have sharp teeth, slightly pointed ears and I'm not exactly the normal body type for a girl my age. When most people who don't like mutants see me, they sort of notice I a mutant, causing me to ether get yelled at or shot at or just shot in general. Its a werewolf thing ya know? People think a silver bullet or hitting me with a cane will kill me, it doesn't, they get scared, I get irritated, I growl, they run. Sort of a day in the life experience for me.”
The wolf girl throughout her entire piece about getting shot at and hated by humans it was clear to see that she didn't exactly like being the supposed bane of all the humans existence. She wasn't mad she was just exasperated that people were so foolish to think that way about her without even knowing her. Sure, she was a wolf girl who was easily irritated, but that wasn't all she was. Problem was, not a lot of people saw that when they looked at her and being called a freak as well as a monster was just a day to day occurrence.
“The X men help those who can not help themselves. Human or mutant, whenever an injustice is being done the X men stop it, thats our purpose.” Em told him simply. Emerald leaned back in her chair releasing her tail, trying to get herself more relaxed Answering honestly to all the questions may or may not be a wise thing but Emerald didn't care, if he wanted to know things like that she would tell him. However, it did not mean that she trusted him in the slightest, he would, like the others would have to earn it. Recently at the mansion, she was starting to let her guard down, but this was just around the other students, teachers on the other hand would have to earn it.

Sam waited till Emerald was done speaking before he nodded his head, self defense was a good excuse, would have been an even better excuse a year or two ago but seeing as Sam and the rest of the team had been working with the police and playing damage control with the city a good amount of human on mutant hate crimes had died down.
Oh yes, there were still far to much for his liking but more often or not the police got involved before it became to violent. ”It’s no longer a crime to be a mutant on the street, not that it ever was but I doubt people would still be shooting at you or trying to stab you with silver, even with your tail and teeth, it’s a crime now to assault a mutant.”
He nodded his head again replaying her answer in his head. That was what they were for? He would have preferred a little coexistence thrown in their somewhere but she wasn’t to far off, it was defiantly the overly simplified version. ”That’s also the purpose of the police, we try to establish a peaceful coexistence with the world, show them that we like everyone else can live normal productive lives in society.” he paused and then looked back at the folder not felling now was the right moment to continue on to his next major question reguarding her disagreement with Neena.
”Tell me Emerald how would you go about stop an injustice?” he asked curiously feeling this was the right step to building up to the next question. ”This just doesn’t apply to you but how do you feel any X-Men would or should stop an injustice?”
Miss Lupin was never known for being kind to authority figures, with the exception of Tricity and her parents. Her parents for being the kindest and most wonderful people the wolf girl had ever come to know in her entire existence and Tricity for giving her the chance to redeem herself after all the things she had done in the past, which still held heavy on her heart today. Not only this, but Tricity took on somewhat of a surrogate mother for the Lupin sisters, giving Emerald a great deal of respect for her in many aspects.
Her problem with Sam, was that in her own personal opinion he was trying to wave the X's banner high in the air as some do gooder Samaritans and that they should be thanked for it. In Em's opinion, that wasn't the right way of going about things. The thing was, he didn't seem to have any concept of what the hell was going on in the real world. Well then, she would just have to educated him wouldn't she...but she would have to do it in a "nice" way.
"Just because there's a law against something, doesn't mean people won't break it. It's also a crime to attack an African-American or to have intercourse with someone against their will, but people still do it. Sure! We can make a law against it, to punish those who break it, but, no matter what, it's gonna happen. Our job as X-Men is to stop the crime we see going on."Emerald told him, unable to fight her somewhat harsh tone. She wasnt in a bad mood but she was very tense, it was obvious that something about what CS said struck a chord with the wolf girl. She knew laws and she knew the people who broke them and if this guy thought that the police had the ability to stop every crime, his head was filled with rocks.
She replayed the question about how she would go about stopping a crime, and a wolfish smile crept across her lips. There were multiple ways she could go about this, all of which involved the criminal writhing on the ground, in pain, by the end of it. Though, she would sugar coat her methods somewhat, in order for her new "boss" to like it.
"Well, first, I would say "stop." If that didn't work, I would try intimidating them with threats of the police, and, if that didn't work, I would intimidating them with threats of me knocking them two ways from Tuesday. And, if that didn't work, because they want to fight me - obviously they'd have some sort of brain damage for wanting to fight me - I would either get them into some sort of submission hold or knock them out. I prefer knocking them out. That way they won't run when the cops try to get them." Emerald explained helpfully with a smile on her face, deciding it would be best leave out how she planned on beating them to a bloody pulverized pulp of human mass.
Though, Emerald's anger issues had considerably improved since the last X-men meeting, thought she doubted Sam could see that. If this was the case she would just have to educate him on the subject matter.

Not showing his already dislike to where the meeting was going he placed a hand on the side of his left head so his fingers just grazed his patch. It was clear she had a different opinion on how things should have been run with the X’s. She was starting to sound like Layla who was gone without a trace for weeks on end and then showed up to find him in charge or Tricity’s absence, she was mad because she didn’t get the position. He didn’t care too much on the situation then and he didn’t care too much for the way things were going now. However he could always rectify the meeting by convincing her other wise with a little debate.
”That may be true but now that it is a law they will be prosecuted for it, and seeing as it is a law they no longer are that egger to do it.” sure rapes happened and shootings happened there would always be crime, and once the NYPD had a mutant division to help prevent situations like this they would become less frequent. She was taking a tone with him, one that most would react on he however didn’t he could handle Layla, Emerald wouldn’t be too difficult to handle.
She was it seemed fixed on pointing out that it was their job to stop crime. He didn’t disagree with it but he didn’t want to say anything just yet. Sam did feel a strong sense of justice about him whenever he saw something going on in the streets but he wasn’t the police and the X-Men weren’t held accountable which was the problem. If everyone was to trust them they would have to held accountable which was one of the many reasons he was so egger to join up with the police to help them clean up the streets.
Eyeing the smile on her face Sam’s eyebrow lowered slightly giving the impression he was trying to read her. When she spoke he didn’t by it, the files that he had read about her arguments with Neena didn’t support this at all. ”I’ll go out on a limb and call that a run of bull…” he said as he lifted the folder on his desk, ”It was a good answer except for the reasoning about leaving them for the cops, you should hold them till they arrive…”
Leaning back in his chair he opened the folder and continued, ”Any who, I have something I found rather interesting,” opening it he traced his finger to what Emerald said back then, ”This took place shortly after the camps, a argument you had with Neena, a line in particular stuck out, “Do you honestly think that there is a difference between justice and revenge?”” Sam paused and looked up to see if she was recalling the meeting. ”You go on to say you would help someone get revenge… do you remember this?” Sam asked curiously his attention leaving the folder again and looking up to the wolf woman.
Emerald felt like smacking the older man across the head with a metal baseball bat at that very moment, but she knew better. The wolf girl took deep breathes, containing herself very well in comparison to her file. In truth the file wasn't exactly updated information on her. While she didn't say anything to what he said about crime, she still thought about it rather deeply. While they weren't as eager to do it, didn't mean they weren't going to do it. She was frustrated when she thought of how ignorant he was being to the world outside. There were wars going on all around them and if anything she assumed his eye patch was proof for that. Mankind, while born good was inherently drawn to do evil things, mutant or not and it was hard for her to imagine anyone she could trust especially not cops. After meeting dirty cops on her trip to Nevada during her time away, she wasn't too keen on the idea of letting law enforcement having their dirty paws all over the X men as well as their files.
While Emerald was doing fine in the form of controlling herself once CS called her statement on what she did and said it was bull, a low growl escaped her lips. As he continued it only grew and she clung onto her legs with her hands, squeezing them as hard as she could. Another deep breath was taken in order to calm herself down.
“I see what you're doing boss and I don't like it one bit.” Emerald glowered at him, blue eyes looking at him coldly. “You are judging me, by what I said at a meeting after an extremely traumatic moment in my life occurred. If you are wondering, sometimes people actually get upset by being locked in concentration camps. It changes us a bit. You know how it changed me? I had always believed in justice, doing the right thing and I was convinced that others would do the same. Tricity taught me that, but after the camps I went right back into the state of mind I was in when I joined the X-men, believe that inherently all people were born bad and they were born to do bad things whether they want to or not.” Emerald told him, the events of the camps relaying perfectly in her mind.
“Tricity gave me and Ruby a leave of absence after the camps to go be with our parents who we hadn't seen in a long time. That time I mostly spent with them, trying to regain my faith in people and in life in general. This was when I decided to take justice into my own hands. You see I had a boyfriend, he was a criminal, but I was too in love with him to do anything about it. We had a bit of a falling out before the camps, because I was tired of letting him get away with his crimes. So, I went to his apartment and after breaking up with him I intended to turn him into the police, "doing justice" if you will.” Emerald paused and laughed for a moment at her own foolishness for ever thinking that would work. It was a halfhearted laugh that was filled with sorrow and anger at herself.
“He was a telepath and with his abilities, he took control of my mind, making me think that everything was alright, just before he took total control, leaving him to do whatever he wanted with my body and my abilities. He went after his old enemies with his new attack dog and managed to take a large amount of money from them the threat of having me maul them. What he was doing was revenge for all the money he was cheated out of, using me in the process. To make a long story short, later on he lost control of my mind, we fought and though I managed to maul him and call the police, I was put in a coma for three of the months that I was gone.” Emerald paused for a moment, releasing her grip on her legs, knowing that they would probably bruise from her gripping them so hard. Not that she minded though, it was all in the job for someone like her. These wounds were just occupational hazards
“ Justice is an act you are doing because its right, and though you may not be going about the rules, as long as you know its right then its right, like trying to lock your psychotic boyfriend in jail, but planning on beating the crap out of him first. Revenge, that's when you go out of your way to get back at those you 'feel' wronged you, but your entire act isn't filled with the best intentions. Its filled with spite and malice. Though, they do overlap when you say snap out of your psychic trance, realizing what the hell your psychic boyfriend has been doing to you for the past few months in brief, painful flashbacks and become determined to turn him into the police, not before you knock him out and keep hitting him for everything he has done that you haven't yet flashed back to.” Emerald looked at Sam for a moment, somewhat curious as to what he was about to say and then again...she sort of didn't care. He could think the way he wanted to about her methods, but about her, that needed some straightening out.
“They way Neena has me written, I guarantee you makes me seem like some gung-ho crazed idiot who just loves violence and enjoys beating up humans in my spare time. Believe it or not Sam, I'm not like that, everything I told you about how I go about solving crimes, was absolutely true. It wouldn't have been true when I first go to the X men, because when I first got to the X men I believed that everyone was planning on killing me when they got the chance. It definitely wouldn't have be true after the camps because I was so angry I would have probably gone third form on someone for sniffing at me wrong, so after the camps the first thing I did after the meeting was lock myself in a building, taking out all my anger there instead of on some poor sap who asked me for a pencil. Its different at the school now, I can feel it I'm actually meeting people I think I may be able to trust as opposed to looking over my shoulder every five minutes? Do you really think I would want to mess that up? I used to enjoy beating up people for just looking at me funny, but now its different, if I'm gonna beat someone up I'm gonna have good reason behind it, not just that I was looking for a fight and Mike Poga just happened to be there.”
With that, Emerald leaned back in her seat, trying her best to calm herself completely down. It was hard, but she managed to do it, her body not yet morphing into her third form. Now that she said her piece, she was going to allow Sam to say his and take the blows as they came, its what she always did. Though, what she did know was that everything she said was truthful and if he didn't believe her, that was fine with her. It was true though, now that Emerald was at the mansion, she really did feel like she sort of belonged here and despite her anger before at CS as well at herself, she fidgeted nervously now. She didn't want to leave or be kicked out of the X men, she just couldn't keep her feelings inside or lock away her true self.

She was certainly long winded… his eye right was shut as he tried to get the grasp of the story she was telling. He wasn’t an empath but he didn’t need to be one to feel the emotions come from her she was certainly wearing them on her sleeves that was for sure the only problem with that was usually the result of hotheadedness. He could tell she was stubborn and hot headed but her story had merit. Nodding his head slowly his eye opened and he eyed the woman in front of him.
”Neena didn’t write it, it was a copy from the war room…” important meeting such as the one they had were recorded which was one of the reasons he wasn’t that big on always going in there it was he felt from time to time an invasion of privacy. Now would be an invasion of privacy, ”Let me first assure you only three people have seen any information in this folder, one who is in front of you, Neena and Tricity, and those are the only three that will be seeing it in the foreseeable future!”
Sam was calm and relaxed something that the wolf shifter in front of him was trying to attempt, ”Second off I didn’t judge or accuse you of anything I only wished to know what exactly you meant by what you said, and I have to say you defiantly had reason to be upset, just like I have reason to be upset now.” Sam pointed to his eye and continued, ”My life before the mansion was nothing but one act of revenge after another, I thought it was justice but eventually my eyes opened I was a tool like you nothing more nothing less, a dog on a leash if you will, but that is in the past, something I still have trouble letting go.”
Sam paused and took a breath continuing on fearing he might be as long winded as Emerald, ”Revenge and Justice may seem they are similar but they aren’t justice is the act of doing something that is right preventing others from being injured even if it means things have to get ugly, revenge is solely for personal gain…” Sam paused again and closed the folder in front of him, ”Eye for an eye makes the world blind, we are the X-Men we set the bar for those who follow us, we are an example for the next generations, we suffered hardship. Camps, discrimination, hate… we are here to show the world that not all of our kind should be feared. The reason we work with the police is to help demonstrate that fact.”
While Emerald was listening to Cold Steel seemingly trying to make her change her way she had thought about crime and punishment. Em wasn't going to have any of that, she was a stubborn young woman with a highly focused outlook on life. She wasn't going to change all her views all because her new boss that was looking at the world through a slit in a box.
"Can we just agree to disagree? Because that is the only way we are going to not argue about a subject that neither of us are going to budge on our ideals on. I hate to brush off something like this but we are going to end up arguing in circles, meaning neither of us is gonna win. I do see what you are trying to get at though so don't think I'm being thickheaded and not listening." Emerald sighed, really not wanting to argue about this subject with another X leader.
It was honestly the last thing she wanted to do at the moment. The first thing she wanted to do was to get this meeting over with so she could find out wether she was going to be in the X men or not.
"So, I know I have be inactive for quite some time due to the break Tricity gave me, I guess the question is, what else are ya gonna ask me to see if I am still X-men material? Because im obviously not your ideal teammate due to my ideals on justice and how it should be taken care of. But I'm fighter and a defender of myself as well as my pack mates. I have learned to negotiate and I have always known how to interrogate. I can work in a team as long as I get punch something every once and a while. Following orders, well if you can establish yourself as a good pack leader I could probably do that. I'm ready to help those who cant help themselves just like I have done ever since I was fifteen, now I guess its up to you bossman." Emerald told him, glad she was able to say her piece sat back in her chair, waiting for him to speak.
While she wasn't normally this long winded, she felt as if she had to be for this situation. He was the one deciding whether or not she should stay or leave the X men. If she had to leave the X men she probably wouldn't be staying at the school anymore and would go live downtown in Johnny's old place. It was a nice place and then she would have an excuse to burn all of his old stuff. Now she had to wait for the decision of the "Leader" of the X men.

Sam was irritated about the way this meeting was going, she didn’t seem to get it, this wasn’t the same team she was apart of before they didn’t go around playing cowboys and Indians, the X’s were now working with the police, they were there to cooperate and hopefully influence others to do the same. Even though she wasn’t making that great of an impression Sam didn’t show it other than his right eyebrow lowering over his eye giving him a quizzical look.
”I don’t know are you?” Sam asked curiously to her, she wanted to see if she was still X worthy, he couldn’t be sure it was something that she had to decide for herself. ”Ideals on philosophy differ from teammate to teammate, I can neither tell them what to feel or what is right or wrong in their opinion, but from time to time you might be put in a compromising situation, one where you would throw caution to the wind and do what you want to your hearts content, however you need to remember that your apart of a team a team that sets an example for everyone else.” the camps for example, he wanted nothing more to go on a killing spree but he had to remember that the workers were only following orders.
She was questioning his loyalty now as well, he blinked with his one good eye and tried hard not to say something that would spark a heated debate, ”If I wasn’t suitable for this position Tricity and Neena would have passed control to someone else now wouldn’t they?” Sam asked curiously as he sat upright in his chair, noting how intent she seemed on some action. ”It is up to me though isn’t it?” Sam repeated pointing out that she was recognizing him as a boss but moments ago she said he would need to prove himself.
”Well your not the first on the team to go inactive then return to the team, so I guess it’s only fair you start over like everyone else then and work your way to the top.” he was tempted to say something he did to Layla before she started yelling at him but then decided not to, Emerald’s and Layla’s personalities seemed to be very similar. ”You’d be a trainee again but you’d be on the team, all you have to do is prove yourself to me like I have to prove myself to you.” he knew it would be difficult to accept but if she was really intent on joining the team again this was the only way to do it.
"If you knew anything about me, Sir, you would know that I can be a team player, believe it or not. For people that do know me know that if it comes between a choice between whats good for me and whats good for my pack I will always choose my pack over myself. Thats the thing about those files, you can learn what we did but who we are is something you have to learn. I also know for a fact that my file in particular doesnt have a lot in it, I asked Tricity to keep it that way for privacy reasons, none the less I'd suggest you learn more about you team mates, sir, before you bring us into you office to talk about something like this. It puts people more at ease you see? Oh and I'm sorry if it seems like im trying to boss you around about that but I just thought you would like to know ya know? For future reference. " Emerald told him, folding her hands onto her lap. She was sitting up straight, and looking intently at her new boss, showing she was meaning what she was saying. It wasn't like she was just pulling things out of her butt, she had thought these things through before she said them aloud.
While Sam wasn't leaving the best impression for Emerald to go on, the feral side of her brain wanting to badly to lash out at him for his inability to understand what she was trying to tell him, she didnt pay him to much mind. Knowing deep down inside that what had to be done had to be done, no matter what. Though, this doesn't mean that he would earn her respect as a leader oh no, thats something he would have to earn. She didn't show her irritation at him though, she was realtively calm now that she had spoken about her ideal on right and wrong.
"It's true that Tricity and Neena both appointed you Head of the X men, though it takes a hell of a lot more than two big shots giving you a title to prove that you are a good leader Leadership and Respect from those under you is something you earn, not something that is given upon announcing you title." Emerald explained to him, crossing her legs. While speaking of such a serious matter she seemed far more relaxed than she had before, showing that despite her admancy on the subject she had managed to calm down. " I wasn't around Neena long enough to view her as a leader, But Tricity saved me and she helped me learn how to control myself more, putting my powers to better use, she ended up like a mom to me and she led us out of some pretty tight spots. She earned my respect as a teammate and as a leader."
Knowing she wasn't going to earn any brownie points with this guy no matter what she did, she was being as honest with him as possible. If he wanted to earn her respect he would have prove herself just like her leaders before had.
"As for me being placed as a trainee, I understand you sentiments completely on that. You have to prove yourself to me just like Tricity had to and I have to prove myself to you just like I had to do with Tricity." Emerald smiled a little at him, showing that there were no truly ill feelings between them. She just thought he was a bit of a wet blanket when it came to justice. Emerald stuck out her hand, in a friendly gesture, "Its gonna be nice working with ya, boss."

If he was someone else or somewhere else he would have reacted poorly to this possibly with a winter tantrum till she was frozen over, frail and brittle ready to break with a mere movement. However he was a different Sam now one that wouldn’t lose his cool about someone who thought she could say whatever she pleased just because she added a ‘Sir’. His right eyebrow twitched slightly as his smile was starting to fade but he somehow kept up the smile a bit longer.
She was mistaken, these files were about what she did not everyone else, and as far as getting to know his other teammates better, he had done that and most of them he called friends. There was only one or two that he wouldn’t put under that category and with how this meeting was going now he might add one to that magic number. ”Would you rather have I call you out in front of everyone else?” Sam asked curiously thinking that this was a better choice. ”I already talked to the other members of the team long before you, this isn’t anything that new.”
His dead eye itched so he scratched it, respect? Was this how she thought one should go about with respect? From the way she said big shots he couldn’t help but feel that she was insulting them even if it was intentional. He had respect from those he worked with, he was certain members of the team trusted him as he trusted them. She was the only one out of the loop for now. He didn’t say anything about this fact however and nodded his head slightly. She was right about the title meaning little if he had no one respected him.
When she agreed to start from the ground up his smile returned wider than before happy that she wasn’t always so stubborn. Standing up and reaching out to her hand and shaking it Sam said, ”I look forward to it, be ready to hear from me or one of the other team leaders relatively soon!” it was going to be a difficult working relationship for starters but he figured if he could handle Layla, he could handle anyone, he just had to figure out the right way to motivate them.
