The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>"You know something? Since I don't need to sleep I've developed a reall love of books and this place is... Amazing."
Amazing? Shin had to agree. Oh, to have infinite hours, or the lack of a need for sleep. Shin kind of envied this man for that ability. If he had it, he’d spend all his time here. Or studying. Or here. Or studying. Or training until morning in the danger room, up all night. Or maybe, he’d toss rocks into a little pool of water to clear his farm of dangerous stones, stopping only to save and yawn… an all-night Harvest Moon gaming session. Yeah, that could be fun. Especially with that game’s notorious ‘endless night’.
He shirked the thought with an amused smile, and turned it to manga. Kyle said he had some. Shin was interested. “Really? What are you into? My favorite series is Yu Yu Hakusho…” He was also curious what book store the man was talking about. “What store was it you found? I work in a book store… might be the same place…”
>>"Uh, sorry for dragging your tour of course. So, who was I meant to see about a job here? Sam right?"
Shin shrugged. Distractions were alright in his book. If the man wanted to get back onto that ‘job’ train, though, Shin could help him.
“Follow me,” he stated, and turned to lead the way back down the hall, down the stairs, and to Sam’s office. He stopped outside the door, and knocked three times. “Sam.”

Leaning back in his chair as he was reading a few police reports about how the situation was handled when mutants and officers of the law interacted with no training what so ever. He shook his head as he read a list of casualties and then sighed leaning forward and placing the paper down in front of him.
The door knocked and he responded to Shin whose voice was easy to pick out in a crowd seeing as they had been working tighter and friends so long. ”Come on in!” Sam said as he put the police reports in a vanilla folder then placed into his desk leaving his desk somewhat spotless, a few new residential reports needing to be filled sat to the left of him on his blind side, his way of coming up with an excuse if he didn’t get around to it on time.
Reaching up to his patched eye Sam scratched the side of it waiting for the Shin to enter, the door was unlocked and the office was empty all except for him.
>> "What are you into? My favorite series is Yu Yu Hakusho…”
"Well,"Kyle began, "As I said I don't really have many, couple of Naruto, some Bleach a bit of Death Note... I've heard people mention Yu Yu Hakusho, how good is it? Oh yeah, the store is a small shop in between a really good Italian restraunt and a convinience store. The manga are on a shelf up the back."
Kyle followed Shin out of the library and to a door which he knocked on.
>>"Come on in!"
'Well,' Kyle thought as he pulled out his resume again. 'Time to meet this Sam guy.'

It seemed Kyle liked the popular titles. That was alright, Shin supposed. "Yu Yu Hakusho is about as good as any of those.” Shin replied. “Though, the ending isn’t as good as the journey. It’s still one wild ride.”
He merely nodded at the convenience store mention. “That doesn’t sound quite like The Full Circle.”
They walked down to Sam’s office. Sam answered. Shin came on in. He nodded for Kyle to follow. “This is Kyle, Sam. He’s interested in finding work. Have a seat, Kyle. Tell us about yourself.” Shin smiled, and dropped into one of the few chairs in Sam’s office. He folded his hands in his lap.
Kyle followed Shin's lead and sat in one of the seats. Focusing on Sam, or who he presumed was Sam as there was only the three of them in the room, he began. " Thanks. Well, my name is Kyle Gordon, and I'm looking for work. I don't need to sleep and so tend to get night shifts or night-only jobs." He held his resume out to Sam. "I've had some experience cooking, cleaning and as a night guard and I'm willing to undergo any training nessecary to be ready for any job you can give me."

More than just Shin entered his office, offering a smile to the unknown man never the less Sam waited to hear what this was about. After they explained Sam leaned forwards and reached for the resume and gave it a once over and nodded, ”No sleep huh?” Sam asked feeling suddenly very interested. ”Would you be interested in living here as well?” Sam asked looking over Kyle’s resume again.
Night guard, a cook, a cleaner… and needed no sleep. Sam smirked slightly as a few ideas ran through his head one stuck out more than anything else. ”How did you like the Night guard job, I might have something in mind along with that detail seeing as we already have a cook.” eyes shot up to Kyle and gave him a good once over.
He looked competent but he made a habit of never judging a book by its cover, he would rather see how well he worked before making a judgment call. ”I’m thinking you could be the official patrol man of the mansion making sure everyone is where they are supposed to be. This is a school after all and as such a lot of students need a little help following some rules like not walking the halls or the grounds at night making a loud ruckus, keeping their music down in the wee hours of the morning, report anything that needs reporting.”
Smiling he continued, ”I would even be willing to extend the night time into day if you prefer, we do need a few more hall monitors, a good amount of kids skip classes sometimes…” looking from Kyle to Shin, ”What do you think?”
"Nope, no sleep. I can also push things away from me or pull them towards me without touching them." Said Kyle. Sam seemed to have some ideas regarding the no-sleeping-thing and that meant he might get something here.
>> "Would you be interested in living here as well?"
Kyle thought about the question before responding. It only took a moment to decide it would be better to stay here than have to commute every day. "Sure, I'd like that."
Sam explained his idea of Kyle being a patrol/nightguard. It seemed like a pretty good deal to Kyle, especially since he'd probably get a period in the early mornings when no-one else would be up. Unless they had other people here who couldn't/didn't sleep.
>> "What do you think?"
"I think that would be perfect. Work overnight when not many people are up with the option for some day work as well. When would you like me to start?"

Sam was actually going with a 'Night Guard' position? Whoa. Who knew? Shin didn't actually think they had openings for that sort of thing... well, he supposed whoever was stationed as Night Guard currently could sleep easy knowing their job was in good hands. The way Sam described it, though... sounded more like 'Hall Monitor' than 'Night Guard'. And then, Sam went out and called it 'Hall Monitor', and asked what he thought. Shin hid his smirk. Hall Monitor. Right.
Kyle said he thought it was perfect.
"It works for me." Shin laughed. What was the worst that could happen?

Smirking as he reached into his desk drawer he pulled out two applications, one for residential information the other was for the job application. Setting them on the desk in front of Kyle and then turning in his chair he looked for a set of room keys he always kept in one of his drawers just for this occasion. ”Ah here we go!” Sam said as he turned back around.
”Here you go, fill both those applications out and then sign on the dotted line, and let me Welcome you to the mansion!” Sam said as he looked to Shin, ”Shin, I’m actually supposed to teach a class in a few minutes, you mind showing him to his room, or…” Sam turned to Kyle, ”You can wander around till you find your room, might be a good idea seeing as you’ll be starting tonight.”
Sam smirked he didn’t need sleep and he seemed egger for a job why not start now, faster he gets his bearings around the mansion the sooner the kids stop falling asleep in classes. ”Oh by the way for the kids still attending school, if they give you any trouble a detention might need to be handed out.” pulling out some detention slips he set them next to the applications and the key to his room. Detention was one of the ways any of the kids would try avoiding be out in the halls so late at night, fear of detention it was a good motivator.
”Now if you excuse me I have to get to class, kids are starting to do that ridiculous fifteen rules with no teacher and class is canceled bull, honestly how can I teach them that patience is a virtue if I only have fifteen minutes to do it.” he sighed and shrugged, ”Can’t be help though, Kyle you have any questions for me feel free to ask when you see me.” With that he closed the files on his desk stacked them and walked quickly towards the door and towards the danger room where a student or two were waiting for him.
Kyle took the forms and started to fill them out. Finding nothing unexpected he signed both and handed them back just in time to be given the room keys.
So, he was starting tonight and could give out detentions. Wow, that was quick. He didn't expect to start for a day or two, but Kyle was sure he could move his belongings, only a few suitcases worth, over in time to start this evening.
He could even fit in a bit of exploring before his job began. When Sam suggested Shin show him to his room Kyle nodded thankfully towards Shin. Knowing which room was his would be useful.
Kyle chuckled at the mention of the fifteen minute rule, although he'd always been fonder of the ten minute rule himself.
"Thanks for all your help." He said as Sam rose to leave.
Once he was gone Kyle turned to Shin. "Could you please show me which rooms mine? Then I'll do a bit of exploring before tonight."

“Sure thing,” Shin replied when Sam asked him to take over, and show Kyle around.
Shin rose, and looked to Kyle. “Follow me.”
The Asian led the way up the stairs, to the adult hallway, and gestured to a door halfway down the hall. “I guess this is yours,” He stated. “Good luck.”
