The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Oh shit!!! Ted silently cried as he was dropped to the ground. Well, there goes my cover. Right now Teddy was very afraid of what was going to happen. He'd hoped that they wouldn't react like this but it was an understandable reaction. Maybe. The girl that he'd originally come in to comfort seemed to be a very quick draw with a knife. As Ted was still falling she'd already grabbed a knife and was about ready to cut him all up. This was no time to play dead, or stuffed animal actually, considering if he didn't move he would be dead.
Oddly enough the second girl was standing up for him, no matter how weak her argument was. Ted decided to stick with her. Once he was on the ground he shook off the head band and ran behind the nice red head's legs. Cowering was kind of a new tactic for him since he hadn't ever messed up that royally when he was in a stuffed animal form before. Teddy started to fight with the dress to get it off; and since he was trying not to rip it, it was really quite a hard task. Ted peaked out from behind the nice red head's leg to see if he was still going to be attacked. From there he glanced over at the bed. Thank God it's not that far. I think I can make it under there before they can get me. Teddy thought as he cowered for his stuffing. What would the two do to him? Would they let him leave, or at least let him explain? Who knew?
Deathstar didn't hear anything Fade said, she instead focused her attention on the moving bear, "We don't know where that thing came from, it could be a gift from The Order for all we know", Deathstar shouted to Fade. She became livid when she saw the bear cower in fear behind Fade, she clinched her fist on the handle of her blade while attempting to erase thoughts of committing homicide. The very thought of the bear absorbing her personal troubles angered Deathstar, if she had any weaknesses it will be her mental state, and this mutant bear had a lot of ammunition against her.
Deathstar pondered on how the bear came near her without blowing its cover, and how it remained silent throughout her outbursts of tears. The bear took off his clothes, and ran underneath Deathstar's bed, "Who are you?", she asked the strange creature, "I'm going to count to 10, and if I get to the number 6 and you're not out from my bed, the number 6 is gonna be the last word you're gonna hear", she threatened the freakish bear hoping he would take her words seriously.
Fade is the nice one of the two, Deathstar looked to her a if she was sending a psychic message to talk the stranger out from her bed. "I'm gonna start one.....two.....three....I'm getting closer and I really don't want to get stuffing all over floor", Deathstar started the countdown and desperately tried to get the bear out, she was going to punish it, but she will deal with that when the bear reveals its true self.
The bear hid behind her! Well, even if Fade was not one for tearing the stuffing out of a teddy bear, she most certainly was not the right person to hide behind! Why had the bear jumped behind her? Did she look like a mutant shield? Then it hit her, it was cowering, it was afraid. "Wait, Star, why would a present from the Order run away from us? If it was sent here to harm us, it would have harmed us instead of run away, maybe it's some kind of mutant that can shrink and jumped into a teddy bear outfit to keep herself hidden because she is afraid? What if it's just a rogue robot? Or maybe it is just an intel device from the Order. Whatever it is, I didn't feel any weapons when I was holding it, did you? It has to just be an information gatherer, instead of a weapon, right?" Whatever Fade thought it was, she did not think it was a mutant from the Mansion in bear form.
Fade nearly chuckled. Why would Deathstar count to ten only to kill it at 6? That seemed like a bit of a waste for those other four numbers to not even be mentioned. Still, it was beside the point. Fade got down on her knees and then down to her stomach to look under the bed. It was much cuter without the dress, that was for sure. "Come," she said, trying to find some kind of command it would follow. "Here girl, or boy, or robot, just come here," she cooed, wiggling her clawed finger. The raptor talons might have looked scary, so she turned them invisible and wiggled her finger with dark nails. Really, they were her talons, because she did not have any fingernails under those claws, just more claw material, so when she would turn them invisible, it appeared as though she had black fingernails. "I won't hurt you if you won't hurt me, but Deathstar over there, well, she has her intentions in her name."
Ted was scared. If he’d had pants on he would have pooped in them. Apparently the girl that he’d come in to be a comfort to was very temperamental and unstable. This was scary. Man this chick is already starting to count. And she’s counting fast. Why’d I have to be nice and go try to comfort this girl? Teddy wondered as he continued to cower under the bed. The Order? Who are they? Yes, listen to the red headed chick. She’s smart, she’s nice. She’s rational. Come on… stop counting and listen to her. Unfortunately he knew that unless either one of them were telepaths or could hear thoughts some how his pleas were falling on deaf minds. The young teen turned his head slightly to look at the nice one. Herself? Now why do I have to be a girl? Just because I can turn into stuffed animals doesn’t mean I'm a girl.
Ok the clawed finger was a little scary also. Right now it didn’t seem like either of them would really not do any harm to him. Even with the claws gone he was still a little apprehensive of her. Who’s to say she wasn’t just playing devils advocate and once he was out she would hold him down and let the other one go at it. Wait, wait, wait. Her name is Deathstar? Man I was hoping it was just Star…like she’s the star of the parade or something. But she’s some sort of psycho chick. God why did I have to get myself into this? Whyyyyyyy? Teddy silently cried out in his head. As Deathstar continued to get closer to fulfilling her threat the young mutant decided to take up the other girl on her offer and slowly, but carefully, crawl out to her. Ted didn’t think that it was even possible for him to hurt someone in any of his forms but he was still a little apprehensive of this other girl. He had no reason to trust them really, but then again they had no reason to trust him; especially if they were as paranoid as they sounded.
Deathstar didn't care how Fade got the bear from under her bed, she just wanted to get rid of the bear as if it was a diseased vermin. The fact that the freakish bear could be a gift from The Order angered Deathstar, she pondered at the thought that maybe her sadistic sister was trying to spy on her and the X-men. Despite how Fade tried to make sense out of the crazy situation, she continued her countdown to ten while sharpening her dagger to the rhythm of every second of the count. Interrupting the countdown, She couldn't resist laughing at Fade, when she tried to talk the bear out of the bed as if she was police negotiator, but after a moment the bear finally steps out into Fade's arm.
Not wasting a second, Deathstar shoved Fade out of the way and interrogated the bear, "who are you?, and what the hell are you?", she shouted to the bear for answers. The bear didn't seem to be a threat, but Deathstar didn't care, she's not the one for surprises. Deathtstar grabbed the Bear's arm lifting it to her face, pointed her dagger to the Bear's nose, and stared deeply into the bears beady eyes as if she was searching for a lost soul. "Answer me now!", she shouted again angrily shaking the bear mid air, Deathstar wanted answers or the bear will be no more. She looked over to Fade feeling a little crazy for threatening to kill a cute cuddly toy, but thats the only way Deathstar knew how to get answers out of her foes.
And there it was. See? All you needed was some good coaxing and the bear came out on it's own, it actually walked out to her and she lifted him off of the floor. No harm in just talki-GAH! Deathstar threw herself at the opportunity and began to question the bear, noble and safe, a bit harsh, but in all of the ruckous, Fade had been thrown aside. It wasn't that hard of a throw, or at least she had been thrown quite a lot harder, but she definitely was not expecting it and her right foot spun out from under her in an odd position, sending her balance completley offset and hurdling her towards the dresser. In an attempt not to destroy Deathstar's dresser, even if it would be her fault if it broke, and an attempt to save herself from a bruise on her face or a sore elbow, she phased through and held on tight with the claws on her feet. Immediately, she phased through the ground and through the ceiling on the level below, her claws dug in tightly. Her back popped when she suddenly stopped, hanging off the ceiling, dangling above the bedroom in the room underneath. There was a young girl in there reading a book and she looked up for a brief moment of curiousity as Fade blushed and just waved. As if this sort of thing happens all the time, the girl went back to her book and Fade grabbed onto the ceiling with her claws, allowing her feet to drop and dangle as she hoisted herself back up.
"Whoa. Don't ask what that was," she said as she emerged form the dresser, taking her place next to Deathstar, who was in a threatening mood. With a bit of pity, and a bit of relief that Fade was never stuck in the teddy bear's situation, she eyed the bear and said "might as well speak up, I don't think anyone's ever been convicted of teddy murder," she smiled. It was not that she thought it was funny that the stuffing of the teddy could be riped out in a few seconds, in fact, she thought it was sad. What made her smile was the mental picture of Deathstar being in a courthouse for teddy murder.
"The victim was enjoying a nice day in a dress when Layla stole it's innocence and sent it to teddy heaven. Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, I urge you to see how miserable this sad tale is, look at teddy's family, they are completely torn up about this. Only you can put her behind bars forever. Make sure she never does this to another plushie again."
Memo to self... Next time I get the urge to comfort someone make sure I know them first. Teddy thought. As the nice girl picked him up, she was quickly brushed away by the psycho chick. She was interested in getting tearing him apart more than getting information from him. Ted was now shaking visibly with fear. How in the world was he going to convince this crazy girl that he wasn’t some Order thingy but just a kid who heard her crying he figured that he’d cheer her up? Maybe he should take up sign language. It would definitely help him out in this situation or so he hoped. Seeing as Ted couldn’t really talk this way it definitely made things a lot more difficult. Maybe next time he does something this stupid he should use a bigger and less easy to pick up stuffed animal.
Ted was getting shaken and poked with a knife. [iHow could this possibly get worse? Oh, wait I know how it could get worse and it's just about to. I can't talk to them. Maybe I can show them somehow, without going back to human.[/i] Ted was thinking. The red heads words weren't too convincing. She apparently didn't think that she would be able to talk her friend out of slicing and dicing the teddy bear. Teddy looked from Deathstar to the red head and then to the bed. At this point he was really regretting his decision to come out from under the bed; however, he did have an idea of how to communicate some answers to them. It all depended on one thing... How good were they at playing charades?
The young mutant was in a pickle. He didn't know how to get out of the crazy girls grasp. He made one more look around the room before he held up his other bear paw. Teddy also shook his head hoping that they would take that as a sign that he gives up and will talk. Or at least make an attempt to explain some things. The main thing that Ted wanted was for the crazy girl to put down the knife and stop threatening to cut him up. Would she lidten? Would the other girl talk her down? Teddy could only hope that those things would happen.
Deathstar wanted answers, even though getting them may cost the poor bear his life. She continued to verbally assault the bear hoping it would talk, so that it wont result with his insides scattered throughout her floor. Although there was a lot of ruckus going on next to her, she refused to let her attention slip from the intruder even if Fade's little phase trip took her life. "Sorry Fade", she said while intensely staring into the bears innocent eyes, "he better get the talking real soon", she says out loud so the bear can hear how serious she is about cutting him limb to limb. "C'mon, I don't have all day", she noticed the bear not retaliating to her verbal attack, so she figured he must not be as dangerous as she first thought.
The bear raised his other arm as if he was surrendering to her, Deathstar finally came to her senses and released the bear by throwing him toward the bed. She looked to Fade and noticed what looked like to be a smile, "What's so funny?, you think the order attacking us is hilarious, I wish I can find the humor in this situation" she said sarcastically to her red haired friend then turned her focus back on the bear. "Look!, I'm trying to be nice here, tell me who you are, I am really getting impatient with you", she said while got on her knees to be on the same eye level as the bear propped up on her bed.
If there was anything in the world that was cuter than a teddy bear waving its arms and shaking its head, Fade could not remember it at this moment. A small little "awwwwww" escaped her lips and the minute it did, her face lit up and her shoulders dropped as if it were her time to hold the teddy bear now. "Oh come on, Star, that was the cutest thing I've seen in weeks, look at his little teddy arms," she said, watching Deathstar put him down. She noted her apology for pushing her, but it was a little fun swinging from the ceiling in the room below and then pulling back up again. Maybe she should have joined the circus... she would have a lower chance of getting killed in a mission, in fact they would not have any missions.
The bear was thrown down, which Fade actually moved to help him up, offering her hand for him to pull himself up. While Deathstar was all for pain for a response, Fade was not too sure when it concerned a teddy bear.Yeah, maybe she could twist someone's arm for information, but that's a human arm, who knew how a teddy bear's anatomy worked? "If it were here to harm us, we'd be hurt by now. It had the opportunity when you were holding it and when you were dressing it or when I was holding it. And it wouldn't come out from under the bed if it had something to hide. If I got caught by the Order and they told me to become visible, hell no, I would get out of there."
Ted was glad that he was getting through to at least one of them. He smiled when heard a little aww slip from the red head, apparently named Fade’s mouth. Maybe getting them to understand will be easier than I thought. he thought just before he was tossed onto the bed. Once Ted was sitting erect on the bed and eye level with Deathstar, Ted mustered all the cuteness he could out of the teddy bears face. Unfortunately Teddy wasn’t that good of a charades player; however, none of that mattered right now seeing as he would get the stuffing ripped out of him if he didn’t start doing something.
The little bear stood up on his hind legs and started to waive his hands about. After a couple of seconds to make sure that he had both of their undivided attention. Ted couldn’t help but agree with Fade. She seemed like the smart and level headed one of the two that were in front of him. Once he was sure that they were paying close attention, and then he started his game of charades. Ted began by pointing at himself. Once they got that he would begin to try and make them understand that he was a student living at the mansion. Easier said than done right? Oh well, here goes nothing.
(ooc) If I am god-modding you Fade, just let me know and I'll change it.
Deathstar folded her arms in disbelief as the bear looked as if he was dancing, feeling non-threatened she returned her dagger in the left exterior pocket on her boot. She then stood behind Fade hoping she has a MVP trophy for the game charades, "Since you're so defensive about this bag of stuffing, I'll give you the honor of deciphering his message", she rolled her eyes wishing the bear would just talk instead auditioning for Dancing with The Stars.
"What is it trying to say?, Deathstar asked Fade impatiently, She did find the Bear's movement amusing, but didn't want to give it the wrong impression of being a nice girl. I wonder how much he knows about me?, will he tell the others that I'm an unstable girl trying to end her life, Deathstar thought to herself as she leaned her back against the bedroom door, nah!, he's too cute, he knows better than to mess with me. Deathstar gazed out the window momentarily as she waited for Fade's analysis, She saw little mutant kids playing among each other and it sent a soft smile to her face. She always dreamed of normal childhood, going to prom, heading to college and getting married, but the fact that those dreams never came true resulted in fueling her anger and hatred toward mankind. She snapped back to reality, erased her friendly face and got back to the build-a-bear from hell.
"So!, what is it trying to say?" she asked again after giving fade an ample amount of time to figure out the Bear's puzzle.
Star was getting restless. She wanted answers right then and there. The bear, on the other hand, had a cute way of beating around the bush. He started pointing to himself. "Bear? You? You bear? You're a bear?" she began guessing quite horribly. Charades was never really her game. They played it at school once, at the playground, and someone charaded "kidnapped" just so little Jenny would get upset. Her foster parents never really knew how to keep their mouths shut on business that did not concern them. So, practically everyone knew what happened to Jenny before she attended the little elementary school, including the children. Star just stood there, looking at Fade.
"What? I dont' speak bear!" she said, still trying to figure out what the bear was saying. "And I suck at charades!" An idea jumped into her head and she went to Star's bedside table. Rumaging through her friend's stuff, she found a piece of paper and a pencil that was low on lead. Great. A bit more rumaging revealed a pen to her and she opened it before passing it to the bear. "Can you write?" Of course, teddy bears did not have thumbs, but maybe they could just hold the pen and write with both hands. These were those rare Kodak Moments and Fade wished she had a video camera so badly, or even a cell phone so she could record it. Although, if whatever it was could turn into a human, would it have clothes on when it transformed? Or was it just a little human in a bear suit? Or a robot? Most robots could talk even in bear form or had some way to communicate. Can little mutants in bear outfits talk?
Great neither of them are good at charades. This is not going to help at all. Teddy thought as Fade started to horribly guess at what he was miming. This is never going to work if it takes them this long to guess that I’m indicating myself. The likelihood of Teddy getting destuffed was looking more and more possible by the second. The stuffed bear watched as the red head rummaged through drawers looking for something. A pen and paper? He’d never tried writing before so this should be fun to watch. When Fade asked him if he could write Ted shrugged, or at least shrugged as well as any stuffed animal could shrug.
Teddy took the pen from her, as best he could and proceeded to attempt at writing. Now he knew why most animals couldn’t communicate with humans… no thumbs! Teddy placed the pen between both hands and started to try and write on the paper. I…am…a…mutant. I…live…here. It was taking him a long time to write these few words. His first grade teacher would have been really annoyed with him taking so long. But either way it was better than playing charades with two people who take half an hour just to figure out that you’re point at yourself. Teddy looked up at them to see if they had any more questions that they wanted answered. Hopefully they had more paper too because writing with both hands meant that the letters were written a lot bigger than if someone was writing normally.
Deathstar quietly squinted her eyes when she saw Fade rummage through her drawer as if she was digging for gold, it wasn't that she didn't like Fade going through her things, its that she didn't want to her to find her personal items such as her NSYNC poster. "Hey!, thats my...oh whatever!" Deathstar shouted to Fade when she grabbed her writing pad, but since it was going to be put to good use she let it go. She walked over to the bed when Fade handed the bear a pen, her bent over body casted a shadow over Fade when she carefully watched the bear attempt to write. She thought it looked awkward, but as long as it was communicating with the girls it didn't matter what Deathstar thought. She watched the bear hug the pen as it wrote a message across Deathstar's personal stationary writing paper that had little transparent pink and black skulls with a bow with a sinister smile on its face. Watching the bear hug the pen was cute and humorous at the same time, Deathstar once again hid her laughter from the others afraid she might come off as gentle to fuzzy intruder.
When the bear finished writing Deathstar quickly grabbed the paper and read it fast to herself, after she finished reading, she handed the paper to Fade re-opened her interrogation with the bear. "You belong here at the mansion eh!, prove it!" she said while she stood straight up folding her arms waiting impatiently. "I don't have all day", she wanted to see something documents, student ID, fireworks, anything that will prove its residency at the mansion.
It took the pen and tried writing. HOW CUTE! Fade almost squealed, but she just beamed happily. Hopefully, it was too focused on it's writing to see just how much Fade was glowing with the urge to say "AWWWWW." He took a while to write, which was fine, she couldn't imagine writing in a bear outfit either. It gave her time to close Star's drawer and make an oops face to her. She always forgot about that whole 'invasion of privacy' some people had. Then again, if Fade wanted something private, she would turn it invisible, until she had to let go of course.
It wrote that it was a mutant. "I KNEW IT! It's wearing an outfit!" she said, though it was weird that the mutant would be a teddy bear, that must have been one hell of an X-Costume. Not her top choice though. Deathstar of course wanted some proof. True, just saying he lived here was not enough. "Are you a mutant teddy or a mutant human that looks like a teddy? Just turn into a human or unzip that suit or something so we can see you in human form," she suggested. Well, the more she thought about it...what if he was like Venus' size and could beat her to a bloody pulp in human form. So he shouldn't change if he's a scary human.
