The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It’s hard to find a realistic bunny when all that’s around are things from Easter. What’s up with the weird colors anyways? There’re no real bunnies that look like that. So what’s the deal? But that was beside the point. So far he was having fun with his mutation. No one had seen him use his power since he’d shown Shin when he first arrived here. People were friendly and he was often busy keeping up with classes; however, he was usually able to go back to his room and practice, alone. He wasn’t super excited about practicing alone in his room, but he wasn’t sure where else he could do it. Eventually he got tired of the solitude and decided that he was going to practice in the living room. It didn’t matter if there were people there or not but he was just hoping for some company.
He’d just found a new stuffed animal that he wanted to try out and what better place to do it than sitting in the living room where there were possibly people to keep him company. When he walked into the room, there was no one there. Either way he was going to be alone while he was practicing. Oh well, at least there’s TV to watch. he thought as he sat himself in front of the TV, turned it on, and found a channel that he liked. Sitting on the couch, he focused on the bunny that he’d picked up while walking around the city mall. Build a Bear Workshop was a great place for him to be. It was full of new and interesting looking animals for him to try. It was almost literally like being a kid in a candy store. It was so hard for Ted to restrain himself from touching every little piece of stuffed animal that was in there.
His head started shrink as his ears lengthened and pointed up to the roof. Fur, or what posed as fur, sprouted out of everywhere as the rest of his body began to shrink down. If someone walked in at this exact moment they would probably run screaming in fear and disgust. Teddy’s entire body softened and he felt his insides turn to stuffing. His hands and feet shrunk into his body as fingers and toes melted into rabbit paws. His big human eyes turned into small beady eyes and his nose went from human looking to a small spot on his now rabbit face. The fur was finished spreading and as his body shrunk down to the correct size he started to remain motionless on the couch. Finally whiskers sprouted and he felt the transformation finish. The TV continued to play as Ted watched through his rabbit eyes. Whiskers and fur moved from the air conditioning that would blow over Ted every once in a while. Now what. He thought as he sat watching commercials.
It was nighttime and Ruby was in the mood to watch a little bit of tv before bed. She was dressed in a little button down shirt with lightening bolts on them with pants and a cap to match. The young fox girl cradled Buster, her stuffed Rabbit, in the crook of her arm as she slunk into the living room. With the Tv lite up with power Ruby watched it for a moment before turning to her normal chair that she sat in.
A small stuffed rabbit was occupying.
A tiny elated yelp of joy escaped her lips and she practically bolted over to the bunny. She scooped him up in her arms and hugged him to her chest, Ruby absolutely adored rabbits. For some reason she had always bee like this and the mere sight of a bunny stuffed animal made the fox girl explode in joy. Her Fox ears perked up as she looked at him with happy green eyes.
”Youre just so cute Mr Bunny, I wish I could keep you but you probably belong to someone else.” Ruby put the bunny back down, but then put her own rabbit next to him. Buster the rabbit was a little worse for wear, he was obviously well loved and well played judging by the wornness of his fur. He also apparently had a few scars from him ripping, but the little brown velvet covered rabbit still had that bunny smile on his face as if he was happy he was still so loved by his owner.
“That’s my bunny Buster! He’s been with me ever since I was really little, my mom made him for me and he has been my best friend ever since forever!” Ruby explained to the new bunny. “I know this is silly that im talking to a Rabbit that’s not even alive, but its sometimes easier to talk to a stuffed animal and not a person ya know? I bet whoever owns you knows that.”
Ruby took out a nightcap from her pocket in the front of her shirt and put it on her head with a smile. It had a drawing of the Ocean on it and emerald had gotten it just for her, it seemed to fit perfectly on the little brown haired girl. Ruby then took a chance to start straightening the other rabbits fur out, just so he would be perfect for his owner when they came back.
”Would want you all messy now would we?” Ruby told the rabbit.
Ted saw a young girl walk into the room. Finally he was going to have some company to watch the TV with. The girl was about his age, although she was carrying a stuffed animal around. Isn't she a bit old to be carrying that around? Ted thought. Apparently she likes bunnies. That wasn't necessarily a good thing for Ted. The girl gave out a little yelp and picked him up. She began hugging him tight and he started to panic. Ahhh! What is she doing? Put me down! I can't breath!!!! When he was finally put down Ted took in a deep breath. Unfortunately nothing on him moved because this was the first time he'd changed into this rabbit, however, he could feel himself breathing. Teddy looked up at the cute girl with pointy ears from his small bunny eyes. Even though his eyes weren't moving like normal eyes move he could still see her playing with some night cap thing. She's a little to hyper for my taste right now. Though I'm not exactly in the best position to be arguing with whatever she wants.

Ha! Ted's gaze shifted to the other bunny that had been set down next to him. It looked like it'd been through hell and put back together again. This was not comforting for someone who's first time it was as this animal. Ya I belong to someone. ME! Just don't mess me up that much. It was like she could read his mind. She then started to fix his fur. Ohh! Oww. Hey up there could you perhaps do that a bit softer? This isn't a normal stuffed bunny ya know... Oh wait you don't know. Crap! Is this what a puppy felt like when it was petted by an over excited toddler? He thought. It wasn't that she was being rough to him. He was just not used to this and it was a little unexpected. Otherwise he'd have to say that it actually felt nice to have the cute girl with pointy ears fixing his fur. Ya know I don't really mind looking a bit messy. Sometimes I even like the look. Ted protested inside the stuffed rabbits mind. But no matter how much he protested she wouldn't be able to hear him, unless of course she could read minds. Considering her current reaction he would have to say that she couldn't read his mind.
Once Ruby felt she was done, she smiled broadly at the newly straightened out bunny. The Little girl yawned a little bit, taking Buster and tucking him beneath her arm. It would seem it was way passed Ruby’s normal sleep time so she was a little off at the moment.
“I wish the knew Robotics book would come in, then I could read it to you Mr Bunny and maybe I would read it to you.” Ruby told the small toy, hugging buster tenderly to her chest. “My name is Ruby, just so you know in case you start talking.” Ruby giggled at her own joke.
Of course rabbits couldn’t talk especially not stuffed rabbits that would just be silly. Ruby sat down in front of the chair the bunny was in, tail curling around her little body. Her thoughts wandered to what if the bunny suddenly turned into a person, what she would do, she would probably laugh and hug them if anything.
It sure was getting late and Ruby was confused as to why the little bunny had no owner, he was a such a pretty little bunny.
”Hey there mr Bunny how would you like to stay here with me and you can get aquatint with Leo.”
Finally she finished. Ted gave a sigh of relief inwardly. If it could have been heard outwardly he would have done it. This Ruby character was someone that apparently liked robotics. I wonder if robotics stuff is part of her mutation. Ted really had no way of asking her until he changed back. Haha. A talking bunny. Now that's funny, but a girl talking to two stuffed bunnies is normal? What a weird place. When Ruby sat in front of him was the first time he noticed her tail. Is this girl turning into a fox or something right before my eyes? Or does she normally look like this? Well I'd better try to do something before she turns into a fox and decides to use me as a chew toy. Looks like she may have done that with her other bunny already quite a few times.
With this decision made Ted tried to move. As it was his first time the rabbit would be rather stiff for him to move. Now what would make her see I'm not a normal stuffed bunny? He pondered this thought for a minute while the two sat there. Finally the answer came to him. Ohh! Jumping would get her attention. Maybe I can do that. Ted focused all his energy on getting the rabbits feet and legs to move how he wanted them. Straining, and straining, he hoped to hop just a little bit. Ted was now breathing hard as he struggled to have himself move. After about a couple of minutes it worked. He felt himself move. Unfortunately it was only one foot and it only looked like a twitch. His foot twitched. Maybe Ruby would have noticed it. Maybe not. He tried again. This time he stopped before he twitched again. Wait did she just offer to adopt me? I don't need an owner I need to move! And who's Leo? Some ravenous pet of yours that likes chewing on poor defenseless stuffed bunnies? Oh well. Back to trying again. Focus. Focus. Focus. He kept repeating to himself. Once again he felt himself getting about to move. Teddy focused harder and right when he thought he was about to jump. He fell on to his side. Ted laid there on his side, on the couch, staring at Ruby curled up in front of him with her other bunny held closely to her chest. Ted sighed again inwardly. Man this is embarrassing.
Ruby sighed a little to herself walking over to a chair on the opposite side of the rabbit. She brushed the seat off and sat down, holding Buster to her chest. The little fox girls mind began to wander to other things, sadder things, darker things in her life. While trying to shake them out, her ears flattened to her head and she twiddled her thumbs.
“I must sound so silly talking to a bunny rabbit, but I guess I need to talk to someone about things. As much as I like talking to my Big sister, I wouldn’t mind maybe having a friend to talk about things with. Its alright though at least I know inanimate objects will always listen to me.” Ruby giggled,
Ruby leaned more into the cusion of the chair, yawning a little bit as she curled up onto it. A tiny yawn escaped her lips, "Maybe someday I can have a real friend to talk to, maybe one a little bit closer to my age than Emerald is so they can really understand me." Ruby rubbed her eyes as she spoke and began to slowly fall asleep.

She wants someone to talk to, huh? Well if I can figure out how to get out of this stuffed animal I'll talk to her. Well better start working on how to get out of this. Ted began to concentrate on himself. He thought about what he looked like and after a minute or so he started to feel the changes reversing. Just like in the beginning, the changes aren't very predictable. His ears shrank to their normal human size and moved to the side of his head. His tail disappeared and he started to grow. As he grew his fur receded and his hands and feet turned from paws back into human hands and feet. Finally his face started to return to normal. Ted was just a few seconds away from being fully back to human when he tried to sit up. This didn't go well and because he forgot how close he was to the edge of the couch and ended up falling off it.
"Ommf." Teddy pushed himself up and sat back down on the couch. "Sorry about that. I got bored laying on my side." Ted explained. He wasn't sure whether she would buy it and be cool about it, or run out of the room screaming, or jump up and squeeze him until he popped. Ted decided to continue just like nothing had happened until she stopped him. "Nice to meet you Ruby. I'm Ted." Well it was a start. After all he'd just turned from a non talking bunny to a 14 year old boy in front of her.
With the oomf reaching her ears, little Ruby looked over in the direction of the noise. Before her stood a boy right around her age in place of the bunny that she had been talking to before. Her fox ears flattened in embarrassment as she smiled sheepishly at the boy, tail wagging back and forth. Most people would have been extremely mad at him for more or less eavesdropping in on their conversations seemingly to themselves. Or perhaps they would smack him in the face for not revealing himself earlier. However, Ruby Lupin had never quite been like everyone else in a number of ways. So when her friend revealed himself to her, instead of what most did, she preceded to smile a the younger boy, tail wagging back and forth.
“You know you could have told me you were the bunny earlier.” Ruby giggled, obviously humored by the whole thing. The Little fox girl started laughing her laughter so happy and gleeful at her own silliness. “I must have sounded like I was absolutely insane, oh I’m so glad Emerald wasn’t here to hear that, she would have never let me live that down.”
"Actually I couldn't have." Ted said a little afraid that she would be mad at him for not stopping her talking to the seemingly normal bunny. "I can't talk when I'm in a stuffed animal form." He realized from her laugh that she wasn't upset with him. Ted couldn't help but laugh a little along with her. "No not at all. I do the same thing when there's no one around. I like to talk to the stuffed animals before I try to copy them. It makes me feel more in tune with them ya know even though they can't talk back."
Ted was still pretty surprised that she wasn't upset with him. Although he also could believe that he'd just said what he did to someone that was still practically a stranger. As Ruby's tail wagged back and forth he figured that even though she looked a little like a fox, what she was doing with her tail seemed more typical of a dog. Though to be honest he was glad that she wasn't mad at him.
“Oh, well that explains that.”Ruby smiled a little sheepishly at the other boy. It would have been much better if he had somehow signaled to her that he was a stuffed toy, or if he at least warned her before he morphed, but she wasn't going to hold that against him. Honestly, the little fox girl thought his power was quite adorable and perhaps even useful if the X men needed to do some sort of reconnaissance and the needed someone to stay perfectly still and not move.
“You're power is a adorable just so you know and I'm really sorry you had to hear me talk to myself like that. I only do it when I think no one else in the room.” Ruby's ears flattened a little. “Looks like I was wrong about that one.”
Ruby felt sort of embaressed the fact she was talking to 'herself' when the young boy was really listening in on the whole thing. Good thing she didnt say anything about the labs or anything of that nature, Emerald would probably never forgive her if she did anything like that.

Ted continued to smile at Ruby. He couldn’t have imagined how embarrassed she must be feeling right now. However, it was still a little amusing. Ted was just mainly glad that the girl wasn’t really mad at him for eavesdropping, even though he was in the room first. Teddy blushed. “Ummm. Thanks, I really like my powers. They’re really fun.” The young boy commented.
There seemed to be a little tenseness in the room so Teddy decided he would try to alleviate it a bit. “I’m just glad you don’t carry stuffed animals in your mouth like a real fox. Then things would have been really awkward… you don’t do that do you?” he asked just so that they had a little clarification. And if he ever found himself in someone’s mouth he would have a better idea who it might be. “So are you like a werefox or something? Ya know like every full moon you turn into a real fox or do you always look like this?” Ted thought it was a good question but he wasn’t exactly sure how defensive or how easily offended she would get with something like that.
