The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

You know, some things are simply worth taking the time to stop and admire. For Andrea, one of those things just happened to be the chandelier that hung just inside the front doors of the mansion.
After a day of cautiously exploring the city, she had found quite a few things that she was in need of, and possible something that would help her out in the long run- if all went according to plan. After marveling once again at the sheer size and glamor of her new home, she had made her way back to the School to unpack the few things she had scrounged- toothbrush, deodorant, A metal hairbrush to keep her mass of tangles in check, and of course- a Chilly Cheese Dog on the way home.
So far, everything had been wonderful. For the first time in her life she had done nearly everything on her list, and without incident too! So, as a second reward to herself for being extra careful, Andrea had simply let herself pause under the shimmering spectacle that hung above and simply stare in awe once she had walked inside and shut the door.
She had never seen one so close up, so... bright and...Shiny.
It was wonderful. She licked her lips, her glasses drooping just a bit so that the full crystal color of the chandelier beamed down into her glowing orbs. The small paper bag of necessities loosened in her grasp slightly, forcing her to shift her weight as she shrugged it back into place and resumed gawking openly up wards.
The mansion had been mostly dark when Saph had arrived in the middle of the night... With all of the hectic preparations and room-getting, and then getting frozen in mid-action- the product of making eye-contact with a green girl, apparently- he didn't had a chance to really enjoy the place... Now, just when it seemed that his day wouldn't get any more hectic, it... well... did. He had been heading back to his old alley via metro bus to retrieve what little possessions he had, including his lucky crowbar, when he heard a voice over a small radio that one of the other passengers had. It was one of those announcer guys prattling on about this and that, when he mentioned a chance to win free tickets to a Yankees game... Now Saph wasn't generally the type to enter such contests, but there was a pay phone just outside the alley he was going to, and he was feeling a bit lucky, having just found a great place to stay, and possibly a good job and education. Minutes later, he found himself jumping up and down outside of an alley with a crowbar in one hand, and a phone handset in the other as the guy on the other end of the line pronounced him the winner of two tickets to the day's game.
One trip to a radio station later, he was sitting on the bus that would take him back to the mansion, a pair of tickets in his hand, and a big smile on his face... He felt like he was in shock, or something... He had never won anything in his life, and now he was suddenly having a good luck streak! Nothing could get him down today! He looked up and saw his stop was coming up. Pulling the little wire, which made a little bell sound, he hopped up, and headed for the front of the bus, the tickets still grasped tightly in his hands. As he wandered up toward the mansions front porch, he wondered who he would ask to go with him... probably Streak, or Jewel; the only people he really knew so far... He was feeling up in the clouds by the time he opened the mansion door, and walked on in. He found that his eyes were drawn to the chandelier immediately.. He hadn't noticed it when he had first arrived, given that all of the lights were out when he came... My god, it was freaking huge, and shiny! the former thief part of him wanted to climb up there, and shovel the whole thing into his cheek like a big theifey hamster. Something about it was welcoming... it made him feel even more like this day was going to be a great one! he decided to hurry; there was only about and hour until the game started, and if he didn't find Jewel or Streak soon, he might have to go alone! He wasn't the type to just ask a stranger, after all. In his hurry, though, he forgot to look away from the chandelier, and seconds later found himself slamming right into some poor person that had been gawking at the pretty lights as well.
"Aw, gees! sorry!" He reached down to help up the person he had knocked over, and found himself looking into a very familiar set of orange eyes... hey.. where had he seen those be...fore... Oh yeah...
Saph stood like a statue in a half-lean, reaching down to help the girl up, a look of horrid realization frozen on his face. It was nap time again,
For the second time within the span of a week, Andrea found herself hitting the dust- and none to lightly might i add-. It took her a moment of collecting her things while kneeled over on her knees, before she realized something was amiss. why could she see things differently all of the sudden? and what, or who, had bumped into her?
"Aw, gees! sorry!"
Wait a minute now... she recognized that voice from somewhere! Without putting any resemblance of though into her next action, she turned and glanced directly up at the man- locking eyes with an oddly familiar face- before she fully understood her mistake.
Her glasses. They. Were. Gone...
She blinked, and winced at the sight of the man she had met before, the very same man- in fact- that had been unfortunate enough to have stumbled upon her the first time.
He must have very, very bad luck for such an encounter to happen twice...
"....oh-... oh dear." Good thing shin wasn't around this time... least he start to think she was doing this on purpose! Andrea collected her things, moving them out of the way so she could turn and inspect the man with un burdened hands. Once again- she was getting that DeJa Vue sensation- he was in a half bent over state with an arm extended... and his eyes were open. Though, they seemed a little wider this time... more surprised. Perhaps he had recognized her as well?
With a heavy sigh, she quickly retrieved her glasses, checking to see if they had been bent at all this time, before she moved to his side and tried to straighten him out a bit into a position that might be a bit more comfy.
All she ended up with was a slightly awkward tilt and a bent knee that she couldn't seem to get straight. Dropping her coat hood, she blew a few pesky strands of hair from her sight and reached to repeat an action she had done last time as well- close his eyes least they shrivel up and fall clean out of his skull- only to trip a little on her own feet and jab him in the eye with her pointer finger. She caught herself on him, and backed up a few steps to frown and wince at what possible damage she had done, before she turned and grabbed her things up- marching them up to where they belonged quickly, then rushing back down to the front room to look after her unfortunate victim and chew on her lip some... maybe. ... probably... yes, indeed, she was chewing on it already.
Fifteen minutes later, Saph snapped back to reality to find that where he had once been leaning forward, he was now standing up right, and where his eye was open and fine before, it was now closed, and felt like it had been jabbed... Naturally, his first reaction was to reach up to his eye, and try to account for his thrown off balance... the only problem was that doing both of those actions at once caused him to overcompensate, and he found himself falling back toward the floor. He had the presence of mind to tilt his head to the side abit so that when his head slammed into the floor it would hit the right side of his head, and thus not cause him any harm.
He lay there for a second, wondering what the hell just happened... and then it dawned on him... Orange eyes... the last thing he saw before he passed out... He sat up in a panic, looking to the left and right, and then down to the tow tickets he still clenched in his hand... His eyes snapped to the green girl who had knocked him out yet again, and he asked in an urgent tone "What time is it?" He wondered how long he was out... last time it had been somewhere around thirty minutes... If it was the same this time, he barely had any time to get to the game! He didn't want to miss it, and he still wanted to invite someone he knew!
The man stirred, and Andrea threw her full attention at him- rather than at the paining she had been studying. "Hey-" She watched the man tip backwards before she could even fully finish her sentence, and winced when he hit the ground. She must have positioned him wrong in some way, when she had tried to straighten him out.
Moving over to stand before him, slightly bent over with her hands supporting her weight on her knees, she tilted her head and gave him a questioning look before opening her mouth to ask if he was alright...
"What time is it?"
He beat her to it, asking a question that is. "uh.... I think its around twelve thirty?" Of course, she didn't own a watch, so being completely correct was a rare thing in her world. The last time she had checked the time had been in the grocery store an hour or so ago... so she could only assume.
"Are you alright...er...Sir?" She reached a gloved handout, an offer to help him up from his nice comfy spot on the ground- should he need it.
He curse as she told him the time, and looked down at his tickets, "Son of a- I've only got thirty minutes to get there! Who the hell am I gonna go with no....w?" He looked back up to her slowly, and grinned bit, climbing up to his feet to walk up in front of her. The older mutant crossed his arms, and spoke in a firm tone.
"You've frozen me.... Twice now... The way I see it... You owe me... Big time."
He uncrossed his arms, and pointed a finger at her face, and continued; it was clear he wasn't going to accept no for an answer.
"You. Are going to a Yankees game with me.. C'mon, we don't have much time."
He grabbed her by the arm, and dragged her toward the door, moving as fast as he could without hobbling. He shoved the tickets he had into his pocket as he walked, using the same hand to open the door, as the other was holding the green girl's arm. He looked back at her as he dragged her off, figuring that she would have to do... It was her fault that he hadn't been able to invite anyone else, after all. He wondered for a second how the crowd would react to a green girl amongst them, but realized that he didn't really care. He was goin to the damn game, and he wasn't going alone.
His cursing managed to tint her cheeks lightly, though, if one could manage to make out the slight discoloring, that person had really, really good eyes. She stepped back a bit in response to the guys wicked grin, and moved to step back even further as he approached her. He.... wasn't going to sock her in the eye or anything.. right? Before she had time to fully ponder the many ways this situation could go wrong, he broke her train of thought by speaking.
"You've frozen me.... Twice now... The way I see it... You owe me... Big time."
Crap. She had foreseen this sort of thing happening somewhere down the line, which was why she had made sure to avoid basically all human contact for the last couple of days- least she run into anyone.... like... well, like she just had.
"...I...wha-?"
A finger being thrust into her face cut her off quickly, which enabled him to continue on...
"You. Are going to a Yankees game with me.. C'mon, we don't have much time."
Before she had time to ask who the Yankees where, or where exactly they were going, or even why, he had latched onto her arm and was already in the process of dragging her out the door and down the street. She winced slightly, quickening her steps to match his own, before she let out the only real thing she could think of.
"...You... You're, uh... hurting me..." A tiny squeak of a comment, but it would do. She tried to refrain from wincing some more as her arm was tugged forward again, and poked at his hand sullenly in hopes that he would let go and she could regain a minimal amount of feeling in the unlucky appendage.
Saph looked back as he heard her mention his hurting her, and paused. "Wha? eh, oh..." He let go of her arm, and continued onward past the mansions front gate. "We gotta hurry if we're gonna make it, not a lot of time left." He stopped next to a bus stop, and looked back at her. "You gotta pay your own way, here, don't got enough for two" He reached into his pocket and pulled out a dollar and some coins, grumbling under his breathe... He hadn't been to a Yankees game in a loooong time, and he really didn't want to miss this one... Not that it was an important game, or anything, but he never had money to spend on stuff like this... it would be fun.
"aright, here comes the bus... you got your change? its one fifty... hurry!" he checked his pocket again to make sure he had the tickets, and then returned them to their safe spot. His stomach growled as he waited for the bus... too bad they didn't have any money for food... He always loved the nachos at the stadium... One of his old foster families was full of Yankees fanatics... for a whole year he never missed a game... That was a good family... Until he accidentally blew up their signed Ruth baseball bat... Then it was a very angry former family. Ahh, memories.
"aright, here comes the bus... you got your change? its one fifty... hurry!"
She was already digging in her pocket, pulling out the meager amount of change she had left from buying all of those things earlier that day. With a quick count, she found that she still had three or four dollars... excluding the change jingling about in her pocket. She dove back in and rustled up fifty cents, glancing up just in time for the bus to round the corner down the street. She eyeballed Saphirus quietly, an eyebrow cocked as she took in the look on his face- one that she would have linked to that of someone reminiscing..... like he was thinking about something he found amusing.
The bus pulled up slowly, doors cranking open as the lone bus driver waited for them to board. She climbed on first, passing her change into the machine before moving out of the way for Saph to climb aboard. The bus, with its passengers past the door, jolted to a start that forced her to plop into her seat quicker than she had expected. She settled herself and glanced around, noticing more than a few stares- which she hoped were of a curious nature and nothing more.
With a frown she tugged her hood up into place, meaning to hide her face from those prying, curious eyes. She felt a little bit better after that, and with her frown still in place, she turned to face her 'captor'.
"Who are... The Yankees?" She had never been one for sports...if it was even a sport he was talking about. She couldn't really know for sure, what with her knowledge of the vast city still at a minimum...
